So if you are wondering if ESP is the right guild for you, then here are some of the factors that can help you decide:

  • You want a stable guild with a great past and a great future. Yes we’ve been going strong for over a decade and counting!
  • You are a laid-back gamer who sees the game as a means of having fun.
  • You are a competitive gamer who takes the game seriously and is looking for serious partners to share their gaming experience with, but understands and respects the fact that not all players are hardcore gamers!
  • You like to socialize with people and get to know them.
  • You like to stick with your guild through most types of content the game offers (PvE, PvP, WvW, Raids, etc.)
  • You want to enjoy the perks of being in an organized guild that delves into many contents and have numerous methods of interaction at its disposal (active guild chat, forums, voice, social media groups, etc.)
  • You like platypi, crumpets, and missing pants!

If any of the above statements applies to you, then congratulations! I believe you will like it in ESP.

I was able to work on the drinks, plus the Essence of Mischief, Essence of Snowfall and the Magnanimous Obsidian Crystal at other times this year. I’ll repeat putting in Buyer Orders is better on your cash flow situation, and drinks are more expensive off-season.

Only the blueprint, JP, Snowball Mayhem, Toypocalypse, Claw of Jormag and Bell Choir have to be done in the Wintersday festival period.

When THE BLOB rolls over to your keep you need those t3 walls/gate and disablers to buy you time to get your commander over. I would rather see the amount of siege it’s possible to place reviewed. You need to be able to place a couple ac’s or whatever to destroy rams or catapults. You dont really need the ability to place 10 ac’s defending Hills north west gate :/ Siege should be helping to slow down the blob and therefore enable a large fight. It should not be a piece of siege per person for the 70 man blob huddled inside it defending.

A server seldom owns just one hardened objective. When we want to flip SMC we will attack that server’s garrison to draw them out. If they’re so intent on manning SMC, we will take their garrison, which is a much more satisfying target anyway.

If they’re on their own BL and lost the other two keeps, can you be surprised that they hunker down in the garrison? Trebs also exist.

In Guild Wars 1 they had the /resign command, making it so you could forfeit a games, rather than suffer through an impossible match. Now, that only worked if the whole team did it but, I still think that enacting the same system in Guild Wars 2 PvP scene would be real helpful, especially with how bad match ups are right now. Surely, no one enjoys starting a game, knowing that its a 100% loss, because of the players they are stuck with. I mean, at very lest, it would let you show disapproval of the match up, instead of going into blows, with harsh words. =/

Unable to recover upgrades from badge gear.

Blades Of Fatalis.1279

I’m sure I’m not the only one to have this problem. At some point in time you bought armor/weapons with wvw badges, then put a semi expensive rune/sigil on it (perplexity, tormenting, traveler, ect). I know that we have the upgrade extractor available in the gem store, and while that removes all upgrades including infusions, for WvW badge armor/weapons the only thing worth using an upgrade extractor on is generosity sigils, for almost anything else your spending many many times the items value to recover the upgrade from the gear.
Now, I can understand that wvw gear may not be salvageable because you might not want people buying exotics with badges and throwing them into the forge or salvaging them for ectos, however, I would request that players be able to salvage upgrades off of gear bought with wvw badges. Surely I’m not the only one who has old armor sets on characters that were bought with wvw badges that have semi expensive runes/sigils on them that they are unable to recover reasonably.

A while back (Dec 16 – Jan 13) we had the Sneak Attack version of WvW. It seemed possible that other alternate rule sets would come out from time to time, so I wanted to put an idea I had for one. It addresses the “There’s no reason to defend.” mentality.

Hold the Fort!
Points for your world will increase each time an objective is successfully defended (excluding borderland Ruins). On the map, objectives would be marked with an additional information – successful defends. Each successful defend would increase the “tier” (not to be confused with the tier of wall defense) of the objective and it would then earn more points. I’m going to create some numbers just for example’s sake, it would be up to a development team to tweak and play with them for optimal results.

Current Points:
Camp – 5
Tower – 10
Keep – 25
Castle – 35

Tier 0 – You have it, but it hasn’t been attacked and defended yet.
Camp – 0
Tower – 1
Keep – 5
Castle – 10

There are possibly better numbers to use, but the idea is for taking but not defending something to give you very little reward.

Tier 1 – You have gone through one defense cycle.
Camp – 1
Tower – 3
Keep – 10
Castle – 15

I think there should be some increase in points if you’ve defended once, but it shouldn’t be huge.

Tier 2 – You’ve gone through two defense cycles.
Camp – 2
Tower – 5
Keep – 15
Castle – 20

Tier 3 – You’ve gone through three defense cycles.
Camp – 5
Tower – 10
Keep – 25
Castle – 35

This puts the points per tick to what they are in normal WvW.

Tier 4 – Max Tier.
Camp – 10
Tower – 20
Keep – 40
Castle – 50

Puts the points per tick into “epic” heights.

Strategy Notes
Tapping as a strategy to divert the opponent’s attention, or to lock up their WP would be risky now since an objective might only be low Tier and would get an easy boost. However, tapping a max Tier objective would still be a valid use of time since it can’t help your opponent’s score, and will possibly send them in a defensive frenzy so as not to loose their high scoring objective. (Thanks, leboy.)

General Notes
I don’t think myself the master of numbers, so other numbers might work too, the idea I want to put forth is the concept.

I realize this does not address the idea of solo rewards, so if someone is playing in EB or any BL simply for a “karma train” or similar experience, then they will likely still do so.

I think this would do what ArenaNet seemed to want when they did Sneak Attack, it would simply change up the game play of WvW. Also, by putting the Tier markers on map, you change how opponents attack. If Blue is ticking massively, then perhaps Red will decide to put all they have into taking the top tier objective in order to knock out a large chunk of their points per tick. Similarly, if Green is sitting on a comfortable lead, they may decide to devote resources to keeping their high tier objectives in order to keep such a lead, instead of going out and smashing their opponents.

Hi Karuna,
Thanks for the response!

I left the game for a year, and just recently came back into the game with some friends who said they wanted to start playing. One is a GW2 veteran like me too. But our other friends are really really casually leveling up, so the two of us returning with 80s are thinking that our plans for trying fractal progression with them probably isn’t going to happen. Not sure if they will even stay in the game long.

And I really really…. Did I say really?…really hate pugging cause of bad experiences when I just started way back. People expect everyone to already know everything and all the tricks, exploits, but I didn’t and am still learning now. But some people get all mean and nasty in pugs.

So I’m looking for a guild that I can play with and group with. Be patient with me as I learn the encounters I don’t know yet. I’ve pugged my way to fractal 14 now, but have to admit that I still dont know all of the encounters. I’m usually just told stand in this corner or run past this, etc.

I’ll probably talk my friend into apping too. I’d like to do all the dungeons I’ve never seen (most off them) and progress in fractals. And do it with guildies.

WvW is fine too. I played all Season 1 as a frontline warrior. I’m playing thief now. Got half ascended gear now, but am working on the rest. Future GvG sounds like fun too.

I also have a 80 warrior, guardian, mesmer, necro and ranger if theyre needed for something.

Help with my WvW build

in Necromancer

Posted by: Crius.5487

Crius.5487

Conditions on necromancer are actually very weak compared to other classes. If you’re going to be fighting against groups of ten or more I suggest power builds.

Here’s an example of a 62006 power build using all exotics.
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fRAQNBmODZkjmaabphD3E4CF0vZA0CRdBUfGtxzC-TVSBwAUuAAFV+FRJ4N1fIu/AKdDLOIAsN/B4JAQKAx2VB-w

The third utility is optional and left up to personal preference. The warhorn off hand weapon can also be switched to focus or dagger depending on personal preference. Your primary weapon is your staff and you should have your staff equipped when dropping wells and going into death shroud. Condition duration food is still used even when in a power build for chill bombs. Lich can be swapped to plague if you need to get through chokes or play a bit more defensively. Lich is still preferred for its damage over plague form. This build can also be used for smaller group play with different utilities and swapping focused rituals to a different trait.

Necromancer’s aren’t known for their group utility but their AOE damage.

minor trait and utility change for roaming and small group gameplay
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fRAQNBmODbkjmibrtxvGOcTgLUSNDQ/mBQLQ9Z0GPLA-TVSBwAUuAAFV+FRJ4N1fIu/AKdDLOIAsN/B4JAQKAx2VB-w

Warhorn + Spectral Walk for swiftness
Summon Flesh Wurm + Teleport for mobility
Elite: Plague/Lich/Flesh Golem up to personal preference

If using flesh golem, make sure you don’t charge if your opponent has stability.

Possible rune changes:
Strength
Hoelbrak

Staff Sigils:
Fire
Force
Energy
Battle
Strength

Axe/* (always bloodlust on OH)
Force
Energy
Hydromancy (chill any thief on you before swapping to axe for #2)
Doom (swap from staff to apply poison on any single downs)

In smaller groups you can optionally put your stacking sigil on staff and run dagger main hand over axe.

Condition builds are still viable in small groups if you are going to corrupt boon+spite followed up by burst damage skills from other members of your party. For the most part, power builds are much better and more versatile over conditions.

For the OP’s build: You’d be better off getting rid of those crests of rabid in your trinkets because they are rare quality and not exotic. Replacements can be level 80 exotic coral or chrysocola jewels. Fire sigils should not be used with condition builds since the damage from the sigil scales with the raw damage of the attack it proc’d off of. Try Sigil of Earth or Sigil of Torment instead.

Actual gameplay mode/karma training aside, I’m more concerned with the fact its a new WvW map.

We all remember what EoTM did. It devastated regular WvW maps. Sure EB could still be populated, but borderlands was almost killed. Now there will be another map which once again will thin out WvW population.

That’s why so many of us requested the borderlands and EB to be updated and brought to a new level instead of making new things. EoTM is an awesome map in terms of design, leaps and bounds above the “old” borderlands, I am sure that this new border will be just as great in design… which is only going to make it worse and ultimately bad for the entire WvW mode

Everlasting Sacred Path [ESP]

Active Since 2005 — International Player Base -- A True PvX Guild — 18+ Age Requirement -- Tarnished Coast Server

About Us:

ESP is a guild which was formed in Guild Wars over seven years ago and ever since our inception we have remained steadily active. After racking up numerous awards and accomplishments, including ‘Guild of the Week’ as recognized by Arenanet on Nov 28th, 2006, we now concentrate upon Guild Wars 2 with full force to continue our legacy.

ESP is a social guild — meaning that our primary focus is upon the people who make up our guild and the sense of community that we all share in together. Together we seek to explore every angle and all aspects of the game, always with the aim of having a kitten ed good time in the process. To help facilitate our high level of activity and encourage interaction within our guild we organize many of our own events and highly encourage people to make use of our guild forums and our TS3 server. As a member of this guild you are part of a team that bands together, sticks together, and offers everyone an equal voice

In Guild Wars 2 our events range from weekly dungeon groups, sPvP teams, WvW raids, and a weekly RP event, as well as a number of unique yearly events and tournaments which we devise ourselves.

To summarize: we are one of the longest-standing guilds in the game, we are here to stay, we are here to have fun, and we don’t take our success too seriously (because we are also here for your crumpets, pants, vodka, and platypi).

Member Requirements:

We are an 18+ Guild. Aside from that, what we look for when we review prospective new members are people who are friendly, easy-going, and who have a strong willingness to interact with us and take part in guild activities. We would rather have someone who will run around laughing and having a great time win or lose rather than someone who is a professional at the game and plays 40-hours per week (not to say that some of us aren’t game addicts). We believe that our easy-going humor along with just the right amount of organization are the keys to our longevity.

Our player base is international; we have members from every continent (except for Antarctica), so people from everywhere in the world are encouraged to come find a new home with us —a home where you can find great people to play with no matter what time zone you live in.

Joining:

If you are interested in joining ESP then you are encouraged to review our charter on our web site at http://www.espguild.com and then submit a post telling us a little bit about yourself and the best way for us to contact you (note that you will need to register before being able to view all content). You are also welcome to contact us directly in game (look for Karuna or Danni in Guild Wars 2) and we will be happy to answer whatever questions you may have.

Please understand that we are careful about who we allow into the guild and we will likely want to get to know you a little bit before actually issuing an invite — both for your benefit, to help ensure that our guild is truly fit for your needs, and also for ours to make sure that all of the new members that we bring mingle well with our current group.

I appreciate everyone who has taken the time to read this post and I look forward to seeing you all in-game!

Our first secret to success is balancing a fun, casual social atmosphere with being well-organized and striving to excel in all areas of the game.

The second, and most important factor is our community. We truly have some of the best people you could hope to meet in the game, and the camaraderie that we enjoy keeps the guild healthy.

Solution to fix the population imbalance

in WvW

Posted by: LaReclusa.3527

LaReclusa.3527

I really have to disagree with those time zones.
NA has 8 hours
EU has 5
SEA has 7
OCX has 4
How is that at all fair? Every time zone has the same 24 hours, same “evening” to play as their prime..it should be 24/4 which is 6 hours each divided early and late with 3 hours each.
FOR EXAMPLE: Yes, places like the USA have 4 time zones for “NA”. Go by Pacific then as the “main” time zone..or a middle one like Central or Mountain. Eastern is early NA, Pacific is late NA
You could pose the argument we’re on NA servers, should have the most people in that time zone. True, but the most people in the time zone also work, so the majority cannot get on for those extra hours except weekends which is family time for many people except the (later) evening, which is prime time.

Flag time zones and when WXP is gained by all means, but if it’s based by those time zones, I completely disagree.
I know that is not the main point of your post, and I halfways apologize for tearing it a part a bit, but it does serve a significance if that is the schedule you want times based off of.

I disagree with merging servers. Why can’t the T1 servers be dispersed to the lower tiers? Server pride is something I know TC is about, do you not think those who DO go out WvW’ing in lower tiers have that too? It’s still their home server they fight for.

Why not make it free? If you want people to move, they will for free. Half price will get some, but still cause casual or “once or twice a week” players to still have to grind in time they don’t have for the game outside of life. It splits guilds if part move and some don’t.
I’m not a fan of servers buying others either which is what that would encourage for those who can’t grind for any amount of gems.

Yes we have megaservers now, but the server population still counts towards PvE players home to servers. You can and did make a post from the WvW player side, but it’s invalid if you disregard PvErs and want them to rework how the population is soley based on WvW.

Any word on the upcoming alliances rumored about that will also help server population balance especially in WvW playing with more people against new people??

Hi guys, I made a separate thread to share my ideas regarding fixing WvW population imbalance in this thread.
Please check it out and share your thoughts.

Basically its about a Loyalty Ranking System to promote players to stick with their servers through both ups and downs as well as buffing up Outnumbered greatly so that people would move to low-tier servers and establish there for either greater personal rewards or trying out different fighting tactics other than zerging.
