I found the cave on the west side of the swamp. I was unable to find anything inside of it of interest. I’ve also been scaling the trees in the area, as they seem too easy to jump on… wondering if there’s a puzzle or a chest or something?
Has anyone else found a minidungeon for Talus Waterslide? The mountainside seems like it’d be too much dead space to not have something in it…
Thanks for the update! This game is barely over a month old… so I understand it’s going to take a little time to get stuff sorted.
Also, keep in mind guys, that stuff on the Trading Post and whatnot is going to be expensive when a game first launches. Wait until everyone has 2 alt 80s that went through content, and injected all that gold/harvest into the market.
When a game launches, prices are always high as a ratio to gold in the economy.
Oh hai, another misconception post.
Your personal experience doesn’t make it true for the rest of the players. The karma DR can kick in if you do like two chain events in a completely regular, play all the way through fashion. Please explain why you think your gaming experience makes it true for the game?
I’ve done an entire Dynamic Event chain from start to finish, and didn’t hit the DR barrier…. only doing the events. No kills between.
were you registered with the same email for the wiki or gw2guru or something?
I remember people that were registered with WoWhead were getting a lot of email spam, due to a compromise of their e-mail lists or something…
Not if he likes DR.
Try, uh… not staying in one spot?
Phy, I’ve never had an outside attempt, either. Just saying, my phone would go nuts!
As long as you don’t use the same email and password that you use to log in to GW2. If you do, then the hacker can just log into your email and authenticate themselves.
In the mean time, my phone is going nuts, telling me I have a log-in attempt happening…
love my android…. if I renew my ip-addy or reboot my router, it’s actually faster just to grab my phone than log into my email. :P
You must be quite an amazing player to be able to defeat players one on one with a longbow. Many don’t have any problems beating two longbow rangers at once, as long as the rangers don’t switch to shortbow.
Longbow does no damage at close range, and in no one on one fight will you ever be able to keep your opponent at 1000 range, it’s just not meant to be used in duels.
Anyone who doesn’t use weapon swapping is doing it wrong, though.
Berylex, have you ever killed Kol Skullcrusher?
“Tries to exploit, breaks the instance, posts that it should be fixed”
All he needs is a Scumbag Steve cap…
The guild system in GW2 is awesome. I’m in my friend’s guild, my OTHER friend’s guild, and will join my cousin’s guild if he transfers over to my server like I told him to.
I rep whatever guild i’m running with at the time, bouncing between guilds to find the one with people online.
Love it! Great approach!!
WoW is the best MMO by far if you’re looking for a “gear grind” MMO. I played it through launch to mid-BC, then from WotLK through Cataclysm Firelands patch… then I quit. I realized they had nothing new to offer after announcing MoP before the final tier was out. Just a longer grind. (I was doing Firelands dailies on 5 characters.)
Guild Wars 2 is the best game around if you want the MMO experience without having to sink hours into the gear grind just to stay competetive at top tier raiding/pvp. It’s amazing how they put the feel of raid events into all levels of gameplay. Tons of fun that you can pick up and put down at will. No monthly subscription to make you feel like you’re forced to play, because you’re putting money into it.
Simply: Wow isn’t as casual friendly as Gw2 is. If you want more to chase, go to wow, if you love cinematics of forests , stay right where you are.
We compliment each other well, methinks.
5 star thread.
Wow did not just release an expansion because of its success, it released one for fun because dead games just can.
More truth to this than the poster realizes….

SamTheGuardian sounds….concerned….
Seriously people, get off your high horses thinking bug fixes involving entire areas’ worth of DEs will be out within a week. Anet has admitted to messing up on dungeons, and it looks like once the bugs involving them are fixed the system will be rewarding. Look, I’ve played several MMOs where my class was either always broken and where the end-game events were plagued with bugs. Games that were out for numerous years.
I’m sorry, I missed the jist of your post. I kept hearing someone screaming “Warlock” over and over and over again….
I’m level 64, and have experienced my first two bugs that actually kept me from playing the game. Two skill points in Sparkfly Fen were bugged. This has been a great launch. Smoother than almost anything i’ve played at launch. Cataclysm was the last launch i’ve played that was near flawless… SW:TOR was pretty decent, but not perfect. WoW vanilla was buggy as all hell at launch, but still quite playable. I never played D3, but THAT is an example of a buggy, HORRID launch.
They should be given the time they need to fix bugs. Here’s an analogy that the devs for SW:TOR came up with to explain bug fixing:
You’ve got rows and rows and rows of marbles lined up perfectly. And then there’s shelves of these marbles, dozens deep. You try to start tweeking a crooked line, but you bump the row above and below. That causes them to roll slightly, until you’ve messed up 4-5 lines on 3 different shelves.
THAT is bug fixing. Give them some time. :P
I use all my Ranger’s elite skills i’ve unlocked so far. On offense, Rampage as One or Entangle is great. On defense, Entangle is great, but putting a Spirit of Nature right below the ramparts on your side of the wall is money… you can revive anyone knocked down on the wall instantly, including yourself. (if you anticipate it coming and precast revive) And it seems to last forever if not getting attacked.
PERMADEATH!
Just a heads up: Mystic Coins aren’t gonna get cheaper…
So it’s completely ok for you to be rewarded about 30 silver in goods and 7k experience for investing ~100 hours or more into completing the map fully?
That’s not what I said.
I simply was saying to hang on to your “rewards” to make them more worthwile in the future.
Just a heads up: Mystic Coins aren’t gonna get cheaper…
Gold sellers now including 1 copper in their mail so you can't delete it...

if you accept the 1c you cannot report them
This is 100% untrue.
You still have the option to report the e-mail.
Get out of my thread, dirty Henge of Denravi player!!
(j/k <3 )
WvW rivalries already forming…
Don’t forget, you were level 15.
Love that you don’t have to raid to have an epic fight… just follow a dynamic event.

Just keep a close eye on the server population. My friends were all on Stormbluff Isle early start, and I bought GW2 2 days into launch. I could NOT get onto SBI right away, so I rolled Emehry Bay for a day. Transfer opened up the next morning.
You’ll be able to get back on, man.
All I see is complaints…. good to see a happy post… even though I made it.
I’m level 58, roughly 3 gold, just about to finish up Bloodsail Coast or whatever.
I love playing GW2. But then again, I’ve played League of Legends, Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, Assassin’s Creed: Revelations, and Allegiance since GW2 came out.
Love WvW, love the flow of the zones, love the dynamic events. Dungeons are a blast with the group I run with… even though we die, it’s not frequent. AC had definitely been the hardest so far.
Thanks, Anet! Who else is still loving this game, level cap or not?
Thats funny. Skill. Hmmm…I’ll start this video about there. . .about skill. . . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nk-8Iph0PdU&feature=player_detailpage#t=253s
My goodness… I couldn’t sit through more than 5 minutes of that guy. Soooooo arrogant.
This game gives everyone the same stats. So… the only thing that matters in PvP is your team’s execution of PvP strategies and such……… which some would construe as…. gasp SKILL!!
Please do, Pandemoniac
Gems are roughly 35ish silver per 100. 600 for a new bank row, so 1.8ish gold?
DON’T get to 85,513/100,000 and then take your friend’s request to run Cadecus’ Manor. LULZ!
@Artorous
Nononononono, sorry, you misunderstood.
Bleed cap is what, 24? If MY bleeds are stronger than YOUR bleeds, (which they are, as I’m condition Ranger) then my bleeds overwrite your bleeds.
Same with fire, but separately; same with poison, but separately.
We’re talking about the same idea, I think… WoW did it, too.
But with this game, I think each person needs their own stack.
Or, if you want to keep the caps as is… have the most powerful effect take priority.
I think he means as in, LMB = Action 1, Ctrl + LMB = Action 2?
I don’t know the answer, though.
Razamis, I understand where you’re coming from….
But… this game will never see “LF2M Tank/Healer PST”
Vincent, I like to think it’s to keep everyone on their toes!

Gotta use your dodge if you wanna be sure to evade his shots, though… Trying to run around him without dodging is asking to get a Graves-style buckshot to the face….
Was in Cadeaus’s Manor Explorable last night… did I spell that wrong? Anyway, We were plunking away at the shotgun boss guy, and 3/4ths through his HP bar he turns on me and decides I need to die. I’d been rezzing teammates for a good long while without aggro, so yeah it was my turn…
Switched to shortbow, and through a combination of Dodge, Quickshot, Dodge, Quickshot, etc. I tanked him for almost the rest of the fight before I messed up and got leveled…. 3 seconds before we ended the fight.
Was pretty sweet!!!! Love this game!
’Course not, my apologies…. what was I thinking… o.O
Are you queued for a WvWvW battleground, or not able to even get into the game?
Fix YOUR drivers.
Close extra programs on YOUR computer.
Optimize YOUR computer…
I don’t think I’ve had GW crash itself yet… I’ve crashed once due to videocard problems. (overheating)
The core idea of this game is that your skill is what matters… not your gear.
You can spend extra time on your 80 to get true badarse looking gear, but you’re not going to auto-win PvP and PvE because of it.
I rather enjoy the fact that, when I eventually hit 80 on my ranger, I’ll deck him out in a great set. Then, when I level up another character to see the story and gameplay of, say, my elementalist, I don’t have to worry about my ranger falling behind the new gear curve that every other traditional MMO has out there. I can do the story and have tons of dopamine that way.
I tried to keep FOUR toons in World of Warcraft raid ready: Druid, Paladin, Hunter, Priest…. and it sucked.
SUUUUPER glad that greatness in this game isn’t a product of how much time you have to grind on heroics/raids so that your gear can win you fights.
THAT is the underlying arguement of progression whines.
I’m currently taking their supply depot instead… lulz
And ANOTHER camping group at the top of the well!
I suppose you have to have SOME area in WvWvW where you don’t get stomped immediately by SBI or HoD. Maybe if I got my butt kicked any time I tried to something that matters above ground, I’d just try to grief objectives that only individuals show up to, also!
Nice touch with the ballista… rofl.
“Rediculous” brings nothing but ridicule…
You mean, when I hit level 80 first… I won’t have any huge advantage in a month over fresh 80s?!?!?!
WHAT?!??!!? BLASPHEMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You blew through 300 hours of content in 3 weeks? And you paid how much for it?
