Why does it feel like I’m writing an online dating profile?
Haven’t played since June-ish, kinda tempted to delete my chars and start anew, but anyway I’m just looking for a friendly, social Guild [NA] , preferably a friendly guild that occassionally does things together though!

With the stabilty nerf and perma daze from inquest this is not possible anymore, they strip your 5-8 stack of stability in 1 second. The only way to it now is killing before they break the console, ignore the wave and juat focus on the boss.
I did it last week? The inquest kept stunning grubs so I killed them first. Maybe I got lucky or something

to stop people skipping because it have major negative effects on the gameplay and intended design of dungeons.and stopping people from getting rewards without doing the dungeon.
should be pretty easy to understand ^^
btw: i was amonst the first bounches to do lupi
and NOTHING was designed to be skipped, that is why the rewards was SO much higher then they are now.
rewards got mega nerfed because every one skipped.
and instead of skillfull combat gameplay, you just needed to learn skillfull exploiting and skipping.

I’m not having trouble understanding I’m having trouble comprehending why you think it’s a good idea to force players to kill every mob. Secondly: Skipping isn’t an exploit, no aspect of the game is being manipulated, people are simply choosing to not kill everything in sight. If you however do want to, you can do that without forcing everyone else to do the same. There’s a whole guild, forum post, and LFG tool dedicated to finding like minded players

First last fix the skipping part:
There are two ways of fixing this:
1: you set up barriers/doors/invisible walls for each room area that stops progression and doesn’t disappear before you killed all enemies up to that point.
2: when aggroing a boss, all enemies up until that boss will auto agro you and never lose agro again before they are all killed or boss loses agro. Should the boss die without losing agro the mobs will NEVER lose agro (so any exploit trying to get around this will mean you need to either clear the mobs afterwards or restart the run).
This whole post seems pretty ridiculous, but particularly this. Making mobs NEVER lose aggro is suggested as a way to make the game more fun? Sorry but if I have to wade through every mob in every dungeon to complete it, I don’t think I’ll ever run a dungeon again. Besides, a lot of waves of mobs are DESIGNED to be skipped. Point in case: Arah hall before lupi.

RE: Gliders I’m just worried they’re gonna end up like the aspects; difficult to control with any amount of latency and sometimes buggy/glitchy,
otherwise, I am cautiously optimistic about the expansion, if a bit shocked by the price of the thing.

It sounds way way way too hopeful and technical but an upgrade to DirectX 11/12 would be <3, not something they could really release with an expansion I guess though…

If you purchase Heart of Thorns, you are given a single serial code with which you can either do the following:
1) Apply it to an existing account which it then upgrades to have access to Heart of Thorns (you don’t have to re-start anything) and you already have access to the core game.
2) Start a brand new account which will have access to both the core game and Heart of Thorns.
In short, you don’t have to make a new account unless you wish to start brand new from scratch – just apply the serial code to your account to upgrade.

So I know (as of yet) there’s no way to pre-purchase HoT without the base game (which is a real kick to the teeth in my opinion) but if I were to purchase the Base game+HoT , would I have to make a new account considering I bought the base game again? Would I have a choice of making a new account?
I phrased this really bad but I honestly don’t know any better way to say it sorry.

In the past week or so I’ve noticed that on random occasions while just running around my character will stop moving, pressing the wasd keys won’t make my character move, nor will holding down both mouse buttons, my character just remains in a frozen, unresponsive state for 2 , 3 seconds. I can still use skills can’t move otherwise, it’s not my mouse or wasd keys as they work perfectly everywhere else.
Has anyone else experienced this problem? Is there a remedy?

So today I decided to join a P4 run, and by the time we reached the Hounds of Balthazar it became pretty clear that the group had never done the path before, but hey, I had plenty of time to spare, so what the hey, I decided to stay and make sure they knew what was happening with every boss, and they followed the instructions (almost) to a tee, I mean you can’t expect perfection, there were a few moments when I was left standing alone but I handled it (kinda.)
Here’s where it gets nice
After the run was over, I get mail, and I find these messages along with 1.5g. I replied that there was no need for that (but I kept the money ngl). I mean I could probably have made at least twice that in the amount of extra time it took to do the run, but it was a kind gesture nonetheless.
(TL;DR: I did not play bad, I help nice people, they give me money)
So that’s my story, do you guys have any acts of kindness from dungeons you want to share?

I think it’s hard because you’re playing with level 30/40/50s rather than 80s in a lower level dungeon, plus most players doing stories are quite new players and don’t really understand stacking might, proper weapons etc etc. Although yeah, some Story dungeons are too long , Aka SE/HotW

What is your favorite dungeon and least favorite dungeon? Try not to list several off for each, just name one for favorite and one for least favorite.
I’m curious how many people are going to answer with “Aetherpath” for their least favorites and favorites. It would make sense to me if you wanted to separate it from TA since it kind of is a dungeon of its own.
Also, you can include TAFU in your reasoning if you wish to, despite it having been removed.
For each, feel free to break it down into simple reasons as to why but you don’t have to. Here’s mine:
Favorite: Arah
1. super-awesome and fun jumping puzzles to go exploring
2. very cool scenery
3. plenty of the bosses are very fun to go for personal best times when soloing… my favorite in particular would be Lupicus
4. the trash skips are in my opinion one of the best parts of the dungeon which truly makes it unique from most other dungeons and it’s a fantastic way to test a person’s skill with a class as well. I also typically would expect a dungeon to have people ‘running for their lives’ from threatening enemies. It seems fitting to me.
5. gold reward at the end makes it actually worth my time and effort
6. great, replayable content… there’s a low chance of me wanting to repeat paths more than once in a day but I’m generally always up for Arah dailies even after a year of playing
Least Favorite: Caudecus Manor
1. dull atmosphere, would probably be cooler and set the mood for a dungeon more so if it were night.
2. everything just seems so darn compact when inside the manor. I frequently bump into walls while moving (at least with swiftness), and it’s really lame how the mobs can be attacked from behind walls.
3. I also can’t use my warhorn #5 on warrior to blast in fire fields/smokescreens unless I want to never be able to get ooc again (at least inside of the manor).
4. ferocity made it and the other lower dungeons too easy imo.
5. for some odd reason, the majority of people that pug this dungeon are even dumber than they are in the other dungeons. I can’t come up with any reasons for this that satisfy me.
6. gold reward is sufficient for the level of difficulty of it, but considering how I don’t find it fun I don’t think even doubling it would justify it for me.
A few chops and changes and…. done.

I think Story modes need a huge reward revamp. 50s and one rare for the first time you complete it isn’t enough. However I guess the fact that giving low levels too much gold in the beginning of the game could be bad for the economy? I don’t know. Therefore:
AC Story: 1.2g, Not difficult, but quite long.
CM Story: 1g, Already quite rewarding considering it’s basically a champ train.
TA Story: 75s, Possibly the easiest/fastest storymode.
SE Story: 1.7g An insanely long and quite difficult dungeon.
CoF Story: If certain cutscenes are made skippable, 1g, if not, 1.2g.
HotW Story: 1.5G Very difficult dungeon
CoE story: Not very familiar with this so I won’t judge.
Arah Story: 1.7g, Ridiculously long, a competitor with SE Story

+ Bring back Forward/Up as a 4th path.
+ Aetherpath – Remove/alter ooze puzzle so it is more pug friendly.
+ Aetherpath – Increase daily gold reward to 4g-5g.
+ Aetherpath – Make dialogues run in background. They shouldnt halt progress through unecessary time gating.
+ Aetherpath – Make all cutscenes skippable. Maybe remove some cutscenes and dialogues.
+ Up path – Make malrona’s projectiles reflectable or blockable again.
I think the only way to balance reflections is to have them scale with the person who cast the reflection’s power rather than with the thing being reflected’s power: This way you still get some extra damage and also get the protection from the attack. I agree with all the Aetherpath changes.. Pugging Aetherpath in EU = hell, everyone speaking different languages n’ all.

Dungeon Instance Owner
We’ve changed the way dungeon instances work. Currently, the instance is “owned” by the first person to enter the instance; this creates some issues when that person leaves or is kicked from the party. To prevent the dungeon instance from closing when any one person leaves, we’ve removed the concept of a dungeon “owner.” If everyone leaves an instance, it will close, but you don’t have to worry about one person leaving your party and having to restart your dungeon! Our goal here is to make instances more user-friendly, as the hidden owner concept was often hard to understand and resulted in people losing progress randomly when someone left.

Ever the pessimist, I’d like to point out that this makes griefing way easier because now you can’t open the dungeon yourself to protect yourself from being kicked. Then again it means people can kick griefers who opened the instance too… Opinions?

Well if you banned everyone who safespotted the p3 last boss by standing against the pillar where its cave-in doesn’t land, you wouldn’t have many players left.
It’s not a safespot. He can still damage you, it’s just the one cave-in attack that won’t hit.
Sounds like a safespot if its main mechanic doesn’t hit!
It’s just a workaround so you don’t have to rely on NPC Grast’s erratic shields which he’ll put up as far away from you as possible because he’s a troll.

As far as I know safespots are “forbidden” – They completely prevent the boss/mobs from being able to damage you which cannot be intended.
Take Arah P1 Ooze before the fix. That coral was quite clearly an exploit. The boss could not hit you while you could hit the boss.

I was trying to catch up on the Living World season 2, I went to Brisban and completed the first instance, however I was not given the chance to choose a reward or whatever. I then used to portal to Dry Top from the instance and now I cannot progress further into the Living World instances because I am still stuck with “Disturbance in Brisban Wildlands Complete!” There’s no way for me to accept a reward and progress and I can’t re-enter the instance, furthermore I can’t switch my current story to Entanglement and then switch back to reset the instance because I get an error message “You cannot switch your active story until you accept your reward”
