Leveling takes forever, is it just me?

“Leveling takes forever.”

LOL.

Have you ever played EverQuest? This game is a breeze compared. Probably the easiest MMO I have ever played.

You literally can go into Edge of the Mist and follow the Zerg from level 22 all the way to 80. It takes a short time.

Did you seriously just come in here and define yourself as a 1% minority, then demand anyone care what happens to you in the new system?

You do not impact the community in a significant enough way to be considered.

So what you are saying is Anet should only care about certain members that play? And only certain people who pay real money?

And not care about the rest?

And AGAIN why include Guild Banks, that makes no sense.

Complain on. Statistically this affects a very minute amount of players. I don’t think Anet is going to change their stance anytime soon.

Then they are going to probably start losing people if they don’t like to listen to their customers. It’s the nature of the beast, since our stance isn’t going to change anytime soon. It’s not a good idea to screw over people who pay money, especially people who like the stuff in the gem store and people actual money. And they probably make loads of money on the gem store.

You can’t be serious. So now you can’t even trade pre cursors, or anything else with your own guild or guild members?

While I appreciate the options a p2p trading system would give in theory, I do not want it. I think it would result in a major rise in map spam in the form of “WTB/WTS X thing” cutting down on player interaction outside buying and selling things.

So what? This is how it used to be in EverQuest. There was nothing wrong with this. IMHO it would bring more player interaction. The only player interaction I have is people complaining about failing a Silverwastes map, or talking to guildies on TS. 99% of the pug groups join, don’t say anything. Unless you wipe. Everyone is on Auto-Pilot in this game at this point.

So I really don’t know what deep player interaction you are talking about.

It fixes no problems, gold sellers will just get smarter and send 500g + the equivalent value of materials and items to the rest they want.

And yet the value of materials can shift from hour to hour. Especially if a bunch of gold sellers buy a couple of thousands of them. Thus it will make it much more annoying for them to conduct their sales.

Why did you only partially quote me? Don’t cherry-pick my point. What about communities or guilds that want to do gold giveaways like GW-EN do for Pink Day in LA?

Because when people can’t refute other points they cherry pick then ones that they think they can. I just can’t understand how anyone can think this is a good idea.

Months ago a friend of mine was hacked. He lost everything. his work requires him to move from one site to another , but he can play with a laptop by the hotels . His account was not rolled back because " he logged from too many locations ". He now play occasionally and has almost abandoned the game.

That is terrifying, and probably going to be the death of me logging into the forums from my mobile.

This makes me nervous as it tells me ANET doesn’t care. Especially those who spend real money on the Gem store. This doesn’t make me have much faith in this company.

500G may seem like an entirely arbitrary number, but I guarantee it is not. I took a look at our mail data (believe me, you guys really like mail and there is a lot of data) and set the value based on that. At 500G, it is not only functionally effective, but also it will only impact 0.175% of our players during an entire month’s worth of mails (if an account would hit the restriction once per month/30 days).

Looking more directly at those transactions, a large majority (98.228%) of those mails are being sent by RMT or compromised accounts (after selling off everything of value on an account).

Yes, there are going to be some edge cases that this is going to bump into, and as we look more into the impact that this change will have, we might change the restriction. However, we feel that this change is going to significantly impact RMT in our game along with help remove a very large reason to compromise accounts.

This is just the first step in our plan to help users keep their accounts secure. More will come as we progress through the year (and forevers!).

You guys are going to hyper inflate the economy. This is a foolish move with no thought but your our motives put in to it.

Making Legendary Weapons Truly Legendary

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Nafeasonto.8925

Nafeasonto.8925

Let’s say this happens and people do get confused…
If I played this game (and my classes) for enough time to get a legendary weapon, and if I am unable to see that legendary longbow #2 does, mechanically speaking, the exact same thing as normal longbow #2, it’s not the “confusing new skill description” that is the problem…

That said, I guess it would be a nice bit of flavour to add to special weapons, but it might not be that easy with some weapon types. Guns are easy – just make the legendary one a magical gun and go nuts with “arcane energy beams”. But a sword? A longbow? How does one make a sword do things other than “slash and stab the unfriendlies”? Does the longbow get a “Turn your enemy into a pincushion” #2 skill description?
…actually, I’d take that one, please…

Point is, it’d be a cool gimmick, but difficult to do without making it seem really weird and outlandish for most weapons, and I’d rather they put that time into making some more skins that are actually obtainable in-game instead of the gem shop.

No it’s called being a good developer and balancing your game to the content. YOu are just used to this horrible horizontal progression.

FPS DROP after Patch

I can confirm this:

My system is as follows:

I7 3770K 4.6GHZ
Dual GTX 670s
32GB DDR3 RAM
Running at 1440P

Before this patch I was getting a stable 55-85 FPS (85 HZ refresh rate) Depending the amount of people, particle effects, etc etc.

After the patch, I am dropping as low as 18 FPS.

This game ran SLI AMAZING. This patch comes out and it goes to hell. I mean come on now. I agree with LordAdre, was this patch even tested at all?

Do you guys not test your patches?

Alright look, I have been playing MMO’s since EverQuest days, so I know about bugs and things, but this is just sad.

How in the heck can you cause this many bugs with this patch? You are so focused so much on nerfing stability and conditional damage, that you don’t focus on Q and A of your patches.

I have seen this time and time again, you are just like “hmm what can we nerf.” And you don’t pay attention to what other issues will come up, you just nerf nerf nerf.

EQ and Verant where completely guilty of this. But that hapepned a lot in the first year the game was out, not 2 1/2 years. I can’t understand what you did to break Guild chat, I mean I don’t care, it’s funny, but come on now.

This is not your first game either, that’s what’s even more scary.

The game didn’t just come out, I could completely understand stuff like this the first 6 months, but this game has been out nearly 3 years.

To me this shows a bigger problem, you are focused on bringing as much new stuff to the dang GEM store, that you just put this stuff in without any hint of Q and A.

Did the team get smaller? Did people get laid off? I KNOW you guys have to have an internal server that dev’s play on to test this stuff. Do you just wing it?

GM commands to test new weapons, etc etc. I just can’t understand some of these things. What am I annoyed at is companies now just basically use their player base as beta testers, it’s free labor. That’s not how this should be, we are the players who play the final product to enjoy ourselves.

I don’t want to come home from work and relax play some GW2 and it’s littered with bugs and nerfs, to the point where I just don’t want to play. I don’t put money towards the GEM store to support a buggy game. There is no excuse for this anymore.

I am glad you are fixing this stuff, but I mean come on. Some of these bugs are crazy:

“Added longer protection from fall damage when players use Tequatl jump pads.”

How in 2 1/2 years did you break that mechanic. Then the necromancer bug where they were going into a downed state during a certain skill?

This is why you shouldn’t put HoT patch files on people’s computers, and only the closed beta testers.

I am nervous as hell, when HoT comes out the amount of issues and bugs that will be there, because your Q and A, for lack of a better word: sucks.

I mean I know I sound whiny, but if I am going to pay 20 – 40 dollars for an extra expansion I don’t want to support hundreds or possibly thousands of small bugs that could be introduced with HoT.

There is a difference between “tweaking” and just plain game breaking bugs.

I just don’t get it anymore, back in the day people wouldn’t stand for this, especially products they paid for. Because the game is F2P doesn’t give the excuse you can just break everything that comes along. You have a GEM store that people spend LOADS of money on.

Burn condi is broken, nerfed, or glitched??

Wow, how ragey. It’s clearly obvious that this isn’t intended.

This is a VERY specific change. I don’t see how them kittening up chat and other things, would affect conditional damage from fire. Why fire? What line of code would accidentally do this?

This doesn’t seem like an “oops” to me. It’s way too specific.

Stealth nerfing shows bad character to the company backing it. You ALWAYS should show your reasoning on why you are nerfing something, and what your “idea” behind the nerf is.

God man, this reminds me of EverQuest where Wizards were useless until after the Ruins of Kunark expansion.

Ele’s are glass canons, stop nerfing what they do best: Conditional Damage/DPS. Ele’s are pointless to play otherwise.

I have a feeling with the expansion coming out there is a reason for this because of the “masteries.” I feel like they are nerfing certain things, only to get that back with the expansion and the masteries.

That’s my conspiracy theory at least. So new players feel like they are getting more powerful.

Good thing this is F2P/B2P or I would of quit this awhile ago.

The stability nerf was bad enough. Now this? Come on now, stop with this crap.

I am sorry this is in no way kittening right. People were yelling at me because I bought my wings and didn’t look at them before I bought them.

The kittening store says you are getting SHADOW DYES. You should get what you are buying not some random chance. That is absolute BS.

This company gets away with a lot of false advertising that other companies wouldn’t. Lots of white knights too.

can you dye any other back item ingame? no. Why would wings be exception? What you see is what you get, don’t qq about it, they implemented a preview button for a reason.

That doesn’t make this okay.

The wings first of all, are WAAY to big. They look horrible on an Asura. and why can’t you change the color?

They also don’t flow right and are very rigid. When you run they shouldn’t move back and forth on how you run, they should actually move like wings.

You can dye everything else in this game, why are you restricting dyes on things you pay for with Gems?

This seems kitten backwards to me.

I can’t be the only one who is thinking this.
