Rather than a playable pet, I’d just like minis to have an attack animation when in my character is in combat, with no damage of course, so as to have them do something more then their follow and idle animations all the time.

Would a ‘dodge roll in place’ just equal a manually triggered block? I’d like that but it might invalidate shield skills for example ( http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Block ).

I noticed this as well yesterday, reported it in game as a bug.

Agreed. This is definitely a bug. Same issue as OP, just been kicked from 2 maps due to low population but still could not see my mini. I have raised a bug report in game and a support ticket to have my main mini returned to the inventory until they can address this. Not heard anything from either however.

I bought one for exactly this reason – effectively it is now on sale. I am not going to command (yet), I am also not going to ‘tag up’ but I am definitely not going to spend 300 gold later when I can spend 100 gold now. Hopefully I can find a Commander mentor at some point so that I can eventually put the tag to a proper use.

Playing a light armor character will become more profitable, at least in the short term , if this extends to armour drops. Makes up for having to spend a lot more on ascended armour crafting?

Was working fine after the initial update on Tuesday, it was working fine last night. I started the game this evening, it downloaded some data and stopped. I’m in the UK, using Sky – all other services appear to be fine – and it certainly seems to be a client issue. Any ideas?

40, but with a 4 year old. Can’t count the number of times I’ve been mid fight and had to go and sort out tears after bedtime. Makes dungeons impossible! ‘Would you mind just waiting 5 minutes whilst I go and put my kid back to sleep’ does not make for friendly chat sigh.

I made it through the portal with my ele who does not have a spinal back piece. I do have an exotic version on my warrior however. It may just be a requirement that you have one on your account?

After more than 20 tries on a Norn Warrior (using bulls rush to get in, frenzy to speed up, dodging left, dodging right and so on), I gave up, loaded my Ele, mapped arcane shield to E, Mist form to R, dodged in whilst hitting E, then FR, and completed the achievement. There is a big difference in how hard this is for different classes, compounded possibly by race.

I am really glad I don;t have to see that cut scene again!

Yeah, this really upset me too especially when everybody was doing so well; Failing the entire event because of the unbalanced platform is soul crushing when you’ve got 100+ fairly organised players.

And this is why I will not try this fight again. The risk of being that person, soloing a champ (even though this is something that I can often manage outside of Orr), and failing, thereby wasting all those peoples effort, is simply not worth the payoff.

Update: I didn’t listen to my own advice! Went through the portal, cleared out the champion (following the excellent guide on this forum), back out to stage 2 defence. In through the portal again, to be insta-downed on arrival (as were the other 2 people in the circle) with no opportunity to get back up. Circle wiped. Not fun. Although the tower defense part was cool

Why are you mad at the Support Team? They’re not the ones who made the mistake. Everyone does something they regret from time to time. Take this as a lesson, and be more careful in the future.

In a moment of utter foolishness I managed to apply my wings of the sunless to the wrong spineguard, and then to compound this tried to use a black lion salvage kit to get it off again. This being the wrong option (I now realise) I contacted the customer support team to see if I could have the wings recovered. They responded that they were unable to do this:

“Although I can’t disclose information on our policies, I’d like to inform you that restoration of items is very seldom. For future reference, you might want to use a Transmutation Splitter, as it will undo a transmutation, and avoid salvage kits as they only have a chance to save upgrades (like runes) that are set onto items.”

So they are able to restore items but are choosing not to, and are unwilling to explain why. NB Transmutation splitters (which I have now looked into) are not obtainable ‘in game’ but only from the gem store hence why I had not come across them before.

Does anyone actually know what the policy is for this and why they will not help when someone makes an admittedly stupid error in hindsight? It seems that this would not hurt the game in any way (as the item is account bound and cannot be sold, for example) so this does seem a but arbitrary.

I have to admit to being very disappointed in the response from the admin in this case (generally they have been excellent in responding and I cannot fault the speed they turn around help requests in).

Any advice (other than ‘give up and don’t be such a twpsin next time!’)?

If it is about the LW achievement: I got the boss week achievement “Here Be Dragons” with killing the Inquest Mark II golem. Though it sounds like you have to slay Tequatl, slaying any world boss seems to suffice.

You don’t have to slay Tequatl for the “Boss Week: Here Be Dragons” daily achievement. All you have to do is participate in the event (or other non-Teq world events) for it to count.

Well, I’ve taken part in the Teq fight and a successful Claw of Jormag fight, and still haven’t been awarded the ‘here be dragons’ daily. What am I doing wrong
