I would personally get an entire new computer. That FX is crap for gw2 and would severely bottleneck a 1060 or 480 in any game, not only gw2.
I’m thinking about an i5+mobo+8gb ddr4 with a rx 470 or 1060 3gb. Everything should cost around 550€.
i7 5775c @ 4.1GHz – 12GB RAM @ 2400MHz – RX 480 @ 1390/2140MHz
Sadly your ram won’t cut it if you jump to Skylake, since you’ll need DDR4, but your hard drives/PSU/case should still be all right.
Ansau’s suggestion is pretty spot on. I’m not sure about prices (I’m from the US), but that gives you a solid computer with a nice upgrade for every component

If you’re getting a 4690k you should be fine on DDR3. Skylake is where you’d end up needing DDR4

Use https://pcpartpicker.com/ to mock up your build before you actually buy any parts… it’s got a checker which should stop you from buying incompatible parts.
Edit: Btw… Skylake does support DDR3… it’s just that the majority of Mobos only have DDR4 slots. Officially Intel only supports DDR3L, but mobo makers seem to have made it so that they can run regular DDR3
e.g. http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=5488#ov
(edited by onevstheworld.2419)
The preferred voltage range that Skylake can officially take for DDR3L, from the CPU’s datasheet, is 1.35V +/- 5%. Sure, standard 1.5 volt DDR3 memory may work fine, but you are exceeding the voltage range that Intel guarantees that it will work and do no harm to the rest of the silicon. YMMV.
RIP City of Heroes
If you do, throw/slipstream some USB3/XHCI drivers into the W7 installation if still going that route and not W10. Or you’ll need to use ps/2 ports when installing.
Google can tell you how to either do this with an oem tool or using dism.
You’re not only making the jump to a new CPU with skylake, you get roughly 30% faster RAM at default speed and a much better platform especially pci-e structure. It’s a no brainer when upgrading on mobo level today.

OP is complaining of CTDs with a driver error messege, not low FPS. He has already tried running the game at lower settings (amongst other things), hence his conclusion that it’s a hardware issue that’s causing his problems.
Kaby Lake isn’t releases yet so actually noone can say if it’s worthwhile over Skylake. But it’s something to keep your eyes out for if you are still looking for a CPU when it releases.
It’s actually GDDR5X, and it is a GPU RAM, so your friend is confusing the two different RAM types.
Of all the troll threads you make, SP, this one’s the worst in quality.
Try harder.
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.
Hammers too small? Hammers in this game are HUGE. Lightward’s battlehammer is probably the only hammer remotely close to a “realistic” size, and it’s still a bit large. If the head and spearpoint on the gallant hammer were half the size it would also be sensible. The rest of them are already like swinging a small car on a stick at people. Which is one gripe I have: every other basic weapon skin (white weapon, e.g. “greatsword”) looks like a simply-made but functional weapon, perhaps a little smaller than necessary. Except the hammer, which is less warhammer and more sledgehammer. That being said I don’t mind lots of large fantasy hammers because they’re fun and I enjoy them, but I do want more “realistic” polehammers in the game.
Don’t cry, Signet of Mercy. Others may forget you, but I will always remember.
Our deficiencies may be overcome by practice and self-discipline.
Too lazy to do that
Basically sums up why Anet shouldn’t pander to people like you.
Haha Daredevil what’s the matter bit salty mate. Anyone that wants to see what Daredevils real opinion is go read: http://www.pevepe.net/gw2/page/1/m/6083582/viewthread/27524960-js-vs-sfr-ar-bg
Kitten commander and a scrub.
Anyway as for the Deso link – we have low numbers but high activity, play WvW with the same people most days and I suppose it gives the illusion we are over populated. Look at the last 2 weeks, we lost some pug commanders, people got bored of PvD and abit of focus – our PPT nosedives.
Gandara seem in the same boat, smart play – no one usually hits their stuff cause it’s generally sieged and plenty of small groups around but they all converge to defend something. Yet whilst they are left around these small groups PPT and back cap faster than any other server – yet sometimes they blob it up and blow kitten up. Yet again just because PPT is high it doesn’t mean they are populated as much as a server that can only cap stuff / defend something with a tag up and someone telling them what to do.
Anet got it right, kept t1 populated enough to keep it interesting whilst keeping healthy populations in the lower tiers to keep people amused / having fun. The French servers all together is probably causing an amusing amount of drama but atleast now if you get a crap matchup you only have 1 French server to fight instead of 2 at once, will give you another random server to have fun with at the same time.
Lower tier gameplay / preferences / “game style” is slowly dying out and the the majority want multiple active maps / blobs / multiple guilds to fight so anet are slyly merging more servers together to create more population across the board with fewer tiers. Soon “blue / red / green” EOTM style WvW won’t seem bad because server identities are going to keep the game healthy.
Anyway Desos a blast, had many “enemies” spent years fighting now merged with us and had fun, games fun for now, so stop being salty guts and just play

PuG Commander, blobbing it up since 2012!
I can’t be the only one who finds this annoying: I join a “SW 50%” squad and when I taxi to the map, VW is already over and they are killing the champs. Same with other open-world / meta maps. People obviously don’t edit / remove their squads from LFG, I waste lots of time on trying to find a map for myself and I even get LFG-blocked for jumping around a lot and can’t join another squad for a while… Please add a timer to LFG that automatically removes squads after 5 minutes!
A friend of mine pointed out a new poster she found in DR. It wasn’t interactable like the Posted Message ones that are part of the achievement, but instead has New Krytan writing on it, which translates to “Stay the Blade”.
I looked around DR afterwards and found two others – same message.
A neat little addition some would miss. And maybe there are more posters out there, with more messages. Attached is the one I found. All three were in less traveled roads – found on in NE Eastern Commons and one in NE Ossan District.

Your skin will wrinkle and your youth will fade, but your soul is endless.
Yes I do use them, I have a permanent weapon-stock of those lovely gizmos, wasting nearly 30 inventory slots. Several of them are quite useful, but unknown to the majority of players. Every attempt making them more popular mostly results in weird looks, like I am a freak or a madman.
I’ll share a few of my gems, which are not listed above:
Healing Seed Pod - This one I used for more than a year. It grants the user a waterfield with a very short cooldown, long duration and grants regeneration in addition. It is still possible to use during the guild rushes with some animal-transformations, most got fixed by now. If your class has blastfinishers but no real source for waterfields, this one is priceless.
Power Matrix - My most recent, yet most controversal discovery. It is not that cheap and does nearly no damage to anything. The major reason it drew my attention was, its tooltip ^^. I’ve done several tests by now and I haven’t reached the enemy-limit yet. Thinking back of the maize-balm farming or the enormous hordes during the queens gauntlet, this could prove useful some day. In ways of flagging loads of mobs with a single strike.
Medical Kit - One of the few EWs you can drop on the ground and othes can pick up. When traveling the world for mapcompletion or leading people through large areas, this one comes in handy. Especially low level characters lack perma-speed. The swiftness-buff in the kit refreshes fast. The kit itself lasts long. It makes movement a lot easier, even you have the kits and not your friend. You can simply arm one, drop it and let it pick up from the person who needs it. It can also be deployed on the ground and be picked up in combat, while the original heal-skill is on cooldown.
Jezza’s Flamethrower - Persuaded a friend of mine to get a stack of those for farming issues. His major complaint was, when farming in groups, he was not able to tag enough mobs in time, they were mostly dead before he reached em. I told him about my flamethrower (engineer mainclass) and he was interested, but not wanted to switch classes. So we got him those. You don’t do much damage with those, but you sure tag a lot of enemies. The red button is sadly NO blastfinisher ;_;.
Grawl ritual Totem - Another of my recent discoveries. Literally annoyed by those stuipd squads of mini raports in HoT maps, I found this quite useful. It creates a short fear-wave, alowing you to move forward or prevent the lethal blow of your enemy. Something like a life-saver.
At last, the most powerful one I found so far. I’m still not sure if that is a joke by ANet or it was simply forgotten while they created HoT. I was totally shocked when I found it and paralized once I unleashed its true potential. In a few seconds you will see why ^^
Frost Gun - This thing is a game-changer. It is basically free cc-skills for everyone. The skills are:
1. Frost Jet – as flamejet from flamethrower, but applies chilled on each tick
2. Rifle Butt – strong cc-skill
3. Frozen Escape – leap back as with the acid bomb from engineer (elexir gun), but leaves timed ice-explosions behind, which also cause chilled
4. Shard Volley – in some bossfights I keep the weapon equiped, as this skill supplies with bleed stacks for condition damage, long range, ground target, short cooldown. The aiming is a little odd but learnable.
5. Deep Freeze – 100% the same as the one from ice bow, very strong cc.
Note: Few days ago I was on a VB map with the matriach battle. Common situation, nearly noone used cc skills. With the frost gun and 1-2 of my own cc-skills I was literally able to interrupt it alone.

I’d love to say something about the teleport gun, but I don’t know what actually counts as exploit/bug-using. I know some ways to get the 2nd portal to another heighth, but this includes some stuff with game mechanics. Sorry.

A fixed Guardian profession
I make PvP & WvW videos
Resonating Slivers are below 10copper/each and you get them everywhere now.
Mystic Coins on the other hand are only available through daily-login and sometimes in daily-fractal chests and are needed for every new legendary and many guildhall-upgrades.
With release of HoT resonating slivers were a great incentive to do guild missions, whereas they are now some cheap byproduct you can get easily somewhere else.
My suggestion would be to replace those resonating slivers with mystic coins, giving players a chance to directly earn enough of them for their legendary weapons!
whoever did it, it must be stopped at all cost!
Nero! I hear good things about [Ankh]!
So, back on topic… Here are some things that may make it easier for you to cope with the “Not Representing” text, OP:
Spies and/or are people paying attention to my guild chat? I do not invite people to a guild if I think they are spies or I don’t welcome their presence in my channel. I always talk in public channels as if the people I’m talking about can hear me. If someone doesn’t respond to me and it’s important, I send them a whisper with the important information.
People who don’t rep really don’t care about the guild. Well, removing the text that notes they’re not repping won’t instantly make anyone care about your guild. If your members aren’t invested and that makes you unhappy, why are they still in your guild? Why not simply thank them for the good times and wish them well and find people more suited to what you’re looking for?
I hope this helps. I, personally, enjoy being able to have more than one guild. I love the ability to chat in all of them, and I love having a guild tag by my name. I think, perhaps, you are taking representation a bit personally, especially if you don’t have any rules in place about it.

Because we can’t be angry about both?
Do you not SEE THE BUFFS? Stability changes do more for us than most. We’re getting a sprinkling of damage buffs on 60% of the longbow skills specifically to offset the one spike skill that’s getting toned down. We’re getting cooldown reductions on the core mechanic every Guardian has (f3 on a 60 second base cooldown? seriously where’s the hallelujahs?).
No. It’s all hysterics over a skill getting nerfed that has always been under the watchful eye because it’s built kinda different than most of the game. The most popular/best trap got a shave. Every profession got some caps put on how many things get thumped by walls.
This. Is. Why. They. Ignore. You.
No perspective at all.
You want to talk realpolitik? Let’s get real. Yes: Revenant/Herald is grossly out of tune. NO ONE who actually pays attention to the design style of the individual members of the Balance Team thought the profession lead who brought us corruptly overpowered Warriors for over a year was going to deliver anything else with their new golden child. If history is any guide it’ll be another 6 months before the mounting evidence in the metrics FINALLY overrules the relentless protectionism. So if you have to measure everything about the game’s most stable and consistent performer against broke-as-heck Revenants, then expect some disappointment. Guardians: In a good place. That Revenants are manifestly more powerful DOES NOT MEAN THEY ARE IN A BETTER PLACE.
If you live in constant need of chasing the greener grass, yes, go flock to the Revenant and load the scales that much deeper that something is WRONG with that profession vs. any measure of reasonable performance. Because the tide will turn for Revenants and the sooner the better.
I wonder what your basis for comparison is…”

I’m asking for any advice to a build for Scrapper/Engi that can solo at Dungs, specifically AC, I just want to get a skin that I liked a lot and I absolutely NEED it …
Why do you think you have to solo AC? It is one of the more common dungeons, easy to run and frequently farmed (compared to others). Finding a group isn’t that hard and if you open a LFG yourself, you get responds within a few minutes. If you only want tears there is absolutely no point in soloing AC (imho).
On the other hand I have to admit, that the weapon-skins you get out of AC change appearance during day/night. During day they have normal appearence, while during night they look like ghostly-weapons with that blue fire arround.
For soloing (I won’t post a link of a build, Xyonon might do that anyway)
- you need mobility:
+ sigil of energy recharges your endurance on weapon-swap/kit-swap, so you can dodge more often.
+ trait Tools, streamlined kits for nearly permanent swiftness in combat (if you use kits). If you use the elexir gun, it will create a spell that drops glue behind you, slowing your enemies = you can evade better.
+ trait Tools, adrenal implant to boost your endurance regeneration by another 50%
- you need some backup in case your endurance runs out, what will happen:
+ If you use a flame-thrower kit, you can go for trait firearms, juggernaut. This grants you permanent stability, so you can literally block one cc-skill in 3 seconds. It also supports you with permanent might stacks, which you need for better dps. If you however run out of stability and endurance, wich may happen sometimes, you get knocked down. Wait until the enemies are close enough to hit and use the Smoke Vent of the flamethrower. It is a short aoe blind, but if timed good, it can save your life.
+ If you play condi, you already have dual pistol as config. The glueshot and the static shot help you to slow your enemies.
+ stun-breakers also help a lot. The toolbelt skills of the elexir gun and the Thumper Turret both work that way, have short cooldown and nearly no cast time at all.
- last but not least, you need damage:
+ you could skill on bombs, which is still quite effective. It allows you to kite most of the enemies. If you use a Thumper turret, you could place it, overcharge it and kite your enemis closely arround it. If you carefully place a waterfield close enough, the overcharge works as blastfinisher = short heal.
+ if you skill on flamethrower and scrapper, you can go for the mass momentum which boosts your power and grants you more permanent might stacks.
+ with the elite skill you could try the motar for an extra blastfinisher, a few condition fields and a bonus waterfield. Also the spell caused by streamlined kits is a great source of conditions, especially if you kite enemies arround.
- healing and defenses:
+ you can use whatever healskill you want. Some prefer the turret, others (like me) prefer the gyro. Both offer short cooldowns and a waterfield. The gyro allows you to stun up to 3 enemies and heals you directly over time, while the turret grants regeneration buff. Elexir and AED might work as well.
+ some survival builds contain a focus on healing power, which may be able to instant-heal your 50% of your max hp (if you dont skill vitality). However for non selfhealing issues, skilling on HP is a bit pointless. Most of our skills scale the lowest with HP :S. So you should focus on either vit or toughness. As you are the only person in the dungeon, there is no need to fear to pull the aggro with too much toughness ^^. Most people just hate toughness, so you can go for vitality.
+ on the other hand you should deal a good ammount of damage, because wholese will? Condi was boosted, so working with conditions might be a good solution.
+ About sigils I already recommended energy for endurance. Then 2nd is up to you. You can go for that AoE torment, poison or boost your condi-damage at all. A trick I use when encoutering huge zergs is the sigil of hydromancy. It causes aoe chill on weapon/kit-swap, which helps you evading again ^^.
- skipping:
+ stealth: you could use the traditional smoke bomb to create a smoke field and put several blast-finishers in it.
+ stealth: more effective is the sneak gyro (elite skill). It has a long duration and follows you, while not pulling aggro itself. The gyro however acts a little silly sometimes. It somehow can overstep rocks and beams, but gets stuck in stairs or walking arround corners.
+ invinciblity: Elexir S allows you to overstep every trap and ignore every knockback/attack. The stealth from the toolbelt can be helpful as well. When I have to tank legendary bosses alone, it helps during the cooldowns of healing skills.
Personally I would not recommend you soloing AC on an engineer. Especially not if you only want tears. If you are looking for a challenge, this might be fun. But for farming issues, better get a group. Saves time, nerves and probably 3-5 keyboards and mouses.

I have for nearly my entire play-time as a Guardian chosen the Hammer over the Greatsword for damage. Not because I knew the damage of the hammer in the long run would be better than the Greatsword’s burst, but because I liked the utility the hammer had to offer despite its slow attack speed.
I’m right there with you. I created my own build for the Guardian revolving around staying alive as long as possible, as well as making sure that anyone within my range (standing next to me is best) get buffs as well that can help them sustain damage longer.
Have been using it ever since as my go to build/weapon for any challenging content. Sure, it’s not full Zerker, and I don’t play with Meta groups. But it suits my preference and has gotten the job done more times than not.
I feel that the Meta is simply a thing that limits us, and in order to be better players we all need to challenge the meta and create something that can match it, but is our own in design. The Meta is a rule, so break it
Pointed sticks?! Oh oh oh we want a weapon skin of a pointed stick do we? Gettin’ all high an’ mighty, eh?? Fresh fruit not good enough for you eh?? WELL I’LL TELL YOU SOMETHIN’ MY LAD!!
