No, they’re not going to give you the option to switch your character in-game. You would just use it to counter the opponents’ builds after you learned what they are. Stop being bad and prepare based on the 2 minutes of information that they give you before the match starts.

1) Let’s give Warriors a free stomp every 20s
2) Could’ve sworn Aegis was the Guardian’s gimmick.
3) Stronger Bowstrings is meant to synergize with the +10% damage/-20% cd Bow trait.
4) Let’s make warriors decide every teamfight

I also had no idea that Stronger Bowstrings was so buggy that it caused 100% projectile finishers. Would be a nice way to stack burning.

Speccing 30 points into Curses makes you terribly glassy and is not a suitable trade-off for the mediocre damage gained, even before the 50% Burning nerf. You are already a target, and you are making yourself easier to kill vs decent players.

The majority of players do in fact need to l2p and readjust their builds to counter the current condition-based meta. Every class has condition removal if you spec for it, yes even Warriors (who have Warhorns and their related 1-condi-to-boon trait, Cleansing Ire, Mending, etc.).

Players who think Death Shroud shouldn’t overflow to HP are bad and think that they should be able to tank 9k killshots/6k Evisc with their 1% DS. No, it’s not an Aegis. Stop treating it like one.

No, you don’t have any problems building life force and no you don’t need to have it when the game starts. Be less bad and stop sitting in the middle of a big fight when you have 0% LF instead.

Necros can disengage from any situation if they are 1) Paying attention to the field 2) Don’t burn all their CDs on a Warrior with Berserker’s Stance up. Yes, it is a l2p situation, and yes you should be bringing Warhorns because 3s on-demand stuns are good.

The real issues that I’ve noticed after playing with Necros for an extended period of time:

No, we don’t need more Fears. No, we didn’t need that AoE fear via Spectral Wall. That’s just silly.

Conditions are too easy to apply in most circumstances. I can drop 12 stacks of Bleed with ease with my normal rotation, which is on a <15s cd. Chills and Poisons are fine, although I’d prefer to see their condition duration shortened. Fears are a bit too accessible, and Doom (DS#3) should be nerfed to 25 or 30s imo.

Necros have a huge amount of CC in general. When I’m pounding pubbies in Hotjoins, I can stunlock players for 10s with Warhorns, Fears, Spectral Grasp & Flesh Golem, and I’ve specced for +70% Fear duration. Most of my skills are on -20% CD too via traits.

Necros can make all transforms useless. Tornadoes, Rage, Plague Form, Lich Form, all crumble under the might of my Corrupt Boon skill – a non-elite. These skills should not be using Stability if they want players to use them, rather have each skill have a non-removable stability-like function. Their effects should be changed to compensate with the unremovable nature of it.

It’s odd that Anet eats stuff like this up, but the dozens of extremely well constructed and thought out posts pointing out why everybody left the game’s instanced PvP…. are entirely ignored…

Anyways… we all know Anet tries their best.
Everyone likes to try their best… it makes you feel all nice knowing you gave it ‘your best shot’ with the comfort of, ‘well at least I tried’ to fall back on…
But trying is failing.
Do it or don’t. Sorry to say it, but sitting in a limbo of ego and incompetence, even with the best of intentions, will never get a great game made.

They’re human, and like to see good feedback every once in a while. The overwhelming negativity provided by all “gaming” cultures eats at you after a few years, regardless of how thick your skin is.

The easiest solution would be to have the developers ignore feedback from the community, and have a cycle of QA testers forward what they believe to be the most important issues, but they’re not doing so. You get to flame the head developers directly instead of a low-level QA guy. Good on them. It’s difficult to see everyone saying your game is kitten without having it loom over your head.

Paying into a super secret club isn’t a bad idea, but how would you enforce the regulations? Are you going to make a player send you 20c every 10 minutes, and if they don’t, they’re b&? Would you create a “tab” or quota of matches before a player is removed? How would you know that a player is even playing the games that he paid for?

It’s not a bad idea, but I don’t think that Anet has given the tools that allows this functionality to be done with anything other than the honor system.

In my personal opinion this is the worst map to be designed in this game so far. It promotes too much CC and antigame, instead of game.

Sure, it is fun to throw characters down and see them die, but it is not fair for a player that tries to think and enjoy the profession he/she created. It feels like a constant hunt for disabling control, throw people down, and then laugh at them. It is simply not fair.

So, in my opinion it is fun, but it clearly does not worth to be included inside tournaments. For one, I joined this game to play a game, not an antigame.

This is not objective feedback.

I doubt that they would let us convert Glory straight into Rank Points. It’s meant to be something to work for for a long time.

A better usage would be streamlining the rather ridiculous PvP skin system with direct glory to PvP Materials, or even better, removing the Mystic Forge system all together. I remember back in Beta when you could just flat-out buy the Skins, but it was removed in favor of chests because “everyone likes opening chests”. No. They don’t. I have 112 golden bear chests sitting on my Necro because I have 250 of every PvP Crafting Mat and a copy of every PvP skin at my rank. I know that I’m the minority in this (Only a handful of people have reached r50+, let alone r60+) but when I ding r60 towards the end of this year, I get to repeat the same tedious grind of opening chests, hoping I get more skins, and destroying the skins one at a time with the Salvage Kit reminder. /rant

And I’m sure it’s been suggested and read and rejected in favor of making more money, but Custom Arenas as a reward for PvPing would be cool too.

I’d like to see better visual feedback for the Skyhammer cannon; A coloured icon on the minimap location in order to tell at a glance. I can always see my teammates dancing on the minimap at the location, but I’m guessing as to whether they are defending or attacking.

Also, I’d prefer if using the Asura Gate broke stealth. While I love trolling around on my near perma-stealthed thief with Scorpion Wire, Shadow Refuge + AoE CC like Fear Me is a near instant guarantee of flipping the cannon.

One of my issues: Shadow stepping over broken glass floors. You can’t do it, or at least I’ve had zero luck doing it. It’s aggravating when you have LOS to an opponent and you try sword 2 or steal to them and instead of hitting them you blink to the edge of the hole, trip and fall in.

I submitted a bug report for this too.

No, it’s not just you. If the floor tiles are broken, the pathing for shadowsteps doesn’t work.

It would be the latter, but nobody has access to them atm since chests are made available every Daily reset (they will start showing up tomorrow)

I think that has to do with database space
PvP weapon locker should be based on bits (either 0 or 1, you have or you haven’t the item in there) while bank collections are based on bites (0-255 max, but it caps at 250 anyway).
There are far more weapons/armors in the pvp locker compared to the pve mats stuff, so I don’t think they can afford the database space to let us have multiple copies of the same items.
An idea would be to make weapons/armors work like pvp runes/sigil, which doesn’t appear to be removed from your pvp locker when you collect them. So every weapon/armor would just be unlocked and be stored as “1”, forever.

If they can afford to store our bag items’ locations, they can afford to store something as equally frivolous as multiple PvP Skins.

They also already do this for PvP Runes. So no, that argument doesn’t really work.

Good fights in EB last night. Amazing show by BG on capturing most the known map with one massive RISE and friends organized crew. For a second there we thought you were joining JQ on beating up DB, then you started taking our stuff.

Not cool.

took whole 100% DB side in EBG within 20mins of first reset.. so it was JQ turn but jq super fast on upgrading things with arrow carts .. it was little challenge as always.

Seeing all of DB side gone that quickly made everyone JQ lol.

DB couldn’t even manage itself in T2 before the RNG matchups. I don’t know why they wanted to fight T1 teams; It was obvious they were going to get obliterated.

I think people should be entitled to their freedom of speech as well as their freedom to ignore it.

Simply block the players so you no longer see their messages.

There is no freedom of speech in a private service provided to you by a company. You are allowed to say what they allow you to say, as defined by the Terms of Service.

I do agree that the Block function should be utilized for such minor grievances though.

I wish they would rethink this logic. The amount of particle effects going on in a 4v4 with any of the meta builds (condi engi, for example) is just silly. It reminds me of the old CounterStrike tactic where people would spam Smoke ‘nades not because they had very effective mechanics, but because peoples’ computers would tank in fps.

In an 8v8 or a WvW ZergVZerg it gets ridiculous. The only thing I can do as an engi is run in, drop some nades, run out, and stay on the sidelines while I continue to mash 1-5 and pray that I’m doing a significant amount of damage, because I sure as hell can’t see anything. On that note, the amount of Greatsword Warriors in default armor just sitting in the AoEs pressing 1, frantically trying to hit something, is hilarious.

2) Does the pet have access to random Ranger buffs? If so, what are they?
3) What traits does the phantom ranger have assigned for his +300 Beastmastery spec?

If I click play now functionally it is supposed to find me a server based on the servers availability and my cummulative glory and put me in it. How is it attempting to put me into full games functionally working?

Your point about Public test servers is valid, however GW1 had private invitation only private test servers that allowed large scale testing. They did not carry this over into GW2 for whatever reason.

I misread your post. I thought you were referring to the issues stated by the OP or the Dev that came after him.

The GW1 Private Test Server showed up several years after the game was deployed. You can expect one in 2015.
