It doesn’t actually have to be only 20. I got it done on either scale 30 or 35, I don’t remember which of the two, but when I saw the achievement icon
Fair enough. Just assumed the Timed Mote wouldn’t activate outside the appropriate scale, so I did it at 20 based on that.
You’re missing that Fractal Scale 10 isn’t the Jade Maw Fractal. Do Fractal Scale 20 instead. Or 30 or 35 or any other Fractal that’s actually Jade Maw.
Yes, the text saying to do 10 is bugged.
Pretty sure for Finite Result it can only be 20.
But, yeah, make sure you’re doing the correct fractal scale, OP.
Do you make sure to stay and loot the chest at the end after the “Return to Mistlock Observatory” dialog box pops up?
Lore-wise, I think all of those locations are inaccessible due either to draconic interdiction (ocean dragon barring access to Cantha) or mystical interdiction (highly limited access to the mists, regarding the domains of the human gods). :/
I agree, though, that it would be awesome to one day gain access to those old elite zones, as the story allows, revamped into raids.
While I agree with point one that meta-comps are still a thing and against intended design, that has absolutely nothing to do with raid boss enrage timers. That’s a problem solely centered on class tuning and balance.
Now my active time is 530pm to 7pm and 9pm to 11pm weekdays and weekends is random. (+8gmt)
Is +8 GMT your current time zone, and are the times listed in GMT, or +8?
Hey, there. I’m representing Synergy’s Team Purple. We’re a late night team, running 12am~2am EST Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. We are in need of DPS. If you’d be interested, please apply to Team Purple at our website: http://synergygw2.enjin.com/ . Or you can always message me here or in-game. Good luck with your search!
…Aaand still nothing about the Superior Rune of the Revenant. GG, ANet. -_-
Had that happen in the Mai Trin fractal, on the opening trash mobs. Only had it occur that one time, but UA just seems buggy in general. For instance, can’t use it on the elemental core in the Snowblind fractal due to “line of sight” issues.
I like the glow. It fits, it’s thematically appropriate.
im happy as it is Sword FTW hell i even want a great sword ofr a 2nd weap ….
Someone appears to already be incurably afflicted with Swords Disease. :p
Frankly, I’m glad Revenants can’t use greatswords. Between my Warrior and my Guardian, sick to bloody death of the things. Really loving our hammers, and don’t mind the one-handed sword so much. Really like mace/axe synergy a lot more than I expected to, and look forward to putting together a condition-oriented gearset. Would kill for a ranged condition weapon, though, even if it was short~mid range.
Apparently it was the Herald rune I was thinking of, not the Revenant rune; my bad. >_<
You can view the Revenant rune in PvP lobby, though:
(1) +8 all stats
(2) +10 all stats
(3) +12 all stats
(4) +14 all stats
(5) +16 all stats
(6) Gain 2 seconds of Resistance when using a heal skill (CD: 10s)
Found the recipe on the Laurel vendor, bottom tab marked “Achievement Rewards.” Don’t know what unlocked it, as I just happened upon it one day.
Actually jives really well with Assassin’s Annihilation trait, depending on facing.
I’ve actually peaked at your website before, and been quite interested; however, from what I saw, your raid times don’t fit my schedule. I did notice you seem to have a lot of interested players, and already expanded your number of groups – any possibility in setting up a late running team?
Actually, my memory is betraying me. I think the 6th collection – Mistward Helmet – either unlocks once the other five are unlocked or it unlocks at the beginning of Herald. Cause I know I had it unlocked way before I finished Herald.
The blindfold unlocks once you obtain something required for it – either by completing one of the other Mistward collections, or getting one of the few drops it requires.
That’s exactly what it was. Just started after recent build, though.
The area transitions? If it is, then probably the same bug (or closely related to) the IO problem on Shiro.
Yep, right as I tripped the area they flipped back to Facets.
As you fully invest in traitlines, you’ll open up the specific collection for the individual pieces. Then you have to collect all the stuff pertaining to them, found via crafting, drops, Mystic Forge, vendor, etc.
That’s exactly what it was. Just started after recent build, though.
Just noticed this a bit ago, myself. Running along a road with Elements and Darkness up, they just dropped without triggering a cooldown or anything. Very peculiar.
I’m on US Eastern time, so looking for something that would be running mornings (9am~12pm) or late night (11:30pm~2am) my time.
Retired my Warrior in favor of a Revenant, and loving it; also have Guardian and Ele at 80, though Ele isn’t well geared. Preference would be to run on the Revenant.
Because, as a Revenant, all your power and abilities comes from the Legendary figure(s) you invoke and channel. Race has nothing to do with it.
That’s Lord and Master to you, bub!
I first got my hands on Revenant at about 3:30am. Still not a Herald, and not feeling any issues with the energy management mandate. Different style is different; embrace it, or play something else.
Every class that has access to greatsword, destroys on greatsword.
Greatsword is the be all to end all and Its rather refreshing to not be forced to use it on Revenant as well.
kitten skippy. Greatswords are all well and good, but it’s terrible design feeling forced to use them.
20 pristines for a skin of your choice
Well now I regret cashing in my Pristine Relics for normal Relics. -_-
The 1-80 experience is designed to give you enough points to unlock all the base traits/skills. So, yeah, you’ll get access to all four base legends and their skills, and all the Invocation line; but, no, there’s nothing left to spend on Herald if you boost. Still gotta get out into the world and do stuff. Hero point challenges in the new zones, though, are supposed to give out 10 each, so you only need to find six of those to start that final grind (or seven if you don’t grab a few in the old world first, since it looked like Herald needs 65 to unlock versus, say, Berserker only needing 60).
Building for a tankier style, I was going to be using Jalis alongside Glint, but I had concerns with some of the skills from playing around with a build calculator. But after rolling it up and putzing about, really do like the feel of Jalis. For Deldrimor!
Checking OP doesn’t change the fact that you’re completely wrong. Burden of proof’s on you, though; give us the list of all the utility skills you see in-game for each Legend and we’ll go from there.
Daggers.
Brass knuckle skin.
Channel the legendary power of KILROOOOYYY STOOOONEKIIINNN
Sold! Get this man an ale!
About thirteen hours left, and work is gonna soak about nine of those. Caffeine IV and Netflix will handle the rest!
soooooooooooooon™
Very much looking forward to it!
I heard this HoT goes love at 3 am on friday is this true?
If you’re on the US east coast like me, then, yeah, 3am. Hoping to catch a nap after work Thursday night and be able to roll Revenant immediately!
Strictly speaking, it kinda needs to happen eventually. Afterall, there is that underwater dragon barring access to Cantha that we’ll have to put down at some point.
It doesn’t need to happen. We could fight ‘S’ on the shore, from a boat, or some other mechanic.
True, like with Zhaitan. But if all the Elder Dragon fights are like that, it’d be really disappointing. I suppose we’ll just have to see how we handle Mordremoth before final speculations could be made regarding Bubbles.
It would be disappointing to me if Arena Net abandoned underwater combat, but they haven’t exactly dispelled the issue.
Agreed. I’d say this is the best underwater combat I’ve encountered. Most people, I think, don’t like underwater combat in general due to that third dimension that needs to be accounted for, as most are likely far more accustomed to mere two-dimensional combat.

Maybe instead, alter Powerful Synergy in Tactics? Such that it would then be, “When you activate a leap combo finisher, activate it twice.” Would give Phalanx a bit of competition, and make Tactics a bit more attractive in general.
If the goal is to give Warriors greater access to blast finishers specifically, I’d say add them into weapons somewhere – Skull Crack (mace burst) and Backbreaker (hammer 5) would be my recommendations.
…OP, is this your first MMO ever? ‘Cause this is absolutely nothing new. WoW’s still going relatively strong after ten years of the exact same thing. I mean, in WoW, you don’t get a legendary now until well nigh the end of an expansion’s life cycle, acquiring bits and pieces from raids that aren’t even designed by launch.
Suffice to say, if you can’t handle content-gating, MMOs are not for you, mate.
Dolyak Signet gives you passive toughness, and that helps a good bit. Use of a shield can help, too, due to the extra native armor. Mostly, though, making sure you armor is up to par for whatever zone you’re in is gonna do the most good, as well as learning when to dodge and make use of your healing skill, too.
Heavy armor doesn’t make you invulnerable on its own. You still play the greatest role in your character’s survival.
You can’t consider solely the impact for the Warrior. Let Warriors have Fast Hands, and what argument do you have for not making Vital Persistence or Eatt baseline, too? That’s an awful lot of power creep to allow into the game, and it makes me awfully leery.
A fair point.
At least with Necros, it would seem to me (and I don’t have a Necro, so pure conjecture from just looking at the trait) that’s either more a flaw with the other two Major traits in Soul Reaping, or a symptom of the meta build(s) that run optimally with that choice. Comparing Vital Persistence to Fast Hands is also a stretch, to me; VP would more logically equate to Forceful Greatsword in that, for a particular meta build, it’s too good to not take, making it feel mandatory for that build. Again, though, not terribly familiar with Necros and their shroud, so I could be way off base.
Now, with Ele’s Arcane trait line, that’s more a problem I see with Ele’s traits in general. For mine, Arcane feels much like the Discipline or Tactics lines in that it offers a lot of really nice things to cover a broader range of situations – particularly in group play, which is what I tend to build around. I, personally, don’t think EAtt should be baselined since that would provide too much of a passive group advantage, making Ele’s even more desirable than they already are, whereas FH alone only affects the Warrior directly. I see baselining EAtt as more like baselining Phalanx Strength, and would not want to see that happen to Warriors, either.
Is Fast Hands worth being the only baseline trait you ever get?
In my eyes, yes. It would be a defined mechanical distinction separating Warriors from other classes. I personally think Fast Hands is the only trait that should be baselined, as none of the others really feel like they change the whole way that a Warrior plays. Certain traits will always end up as mandatory “choices” based on build/content – and that’s fine, to an extent, such that those “mandatory choices” help to augment the individual’s personal playstyle in their chosen environment.
I use greatsword because it’s nigh-required, but I actually kinda hate the greatsword. It’s boring beyond belief. I would very much prefer to use a mainhand and the warhorn, or a hammer, or something that did more than a bunch of random damage.
So much this. I’ve been a dedicated axe warrior since GW1, and I hate relying on the Greatsword. Fast Hands really helps make the GS bearable, but it really shouldn’t be this mandatory.
My opinion is that your weapons and utility skill selections should be what defines your playstyle; traits should simply augment that playstyle. Striking that perfect balance between definition and augmentation is always difficult, though, in any game. Especially with elite specializations and raids potentially chucking the existing meta builds into the bin as is.
And it looks like keeper’s ascended gear is not yet in the game.
Yeah, what I was afraid of. :/
Thanks for the link, though!
P.S. I really hope we can buy Keeper’s recipes for Karma in HoT.
Would be nice. Already have my Guardian in full Keeper’s, exotic armor and ascended GS/stave – need accessories, though. Do those even exist at ascended?
It would be nice if baseline adrenaline was 1 bar, and over time any loss or gain gravitates to that.
This way, a baseline one bar adrenaline, allows use of F1 off the bat – bringing the Warrior special ability in line with the other professions (even IP is baseline now).
This I can agree with, too. Adrenaline flows pretty quickly, even at the start of combat, but particularly with certain traits/utility skills, but it does at times feel rather punitive.
We really do need Fast Hands as a baseline perk. I’d say move Brawler’s Recovery to that Minor slot, to keep the trait line’s flavor centered on weapon swapping; not sure what to replace that with, though. Moving Burning Arrows to Discipline, I think, would be a good change as the other ranged weapon trait (Crack Shot) is also in the Discipline line – but that would leave kitten in Tactics. Perhaps a taunt on CC, similar to Revenants?
So, PvE opinion: Rifle still crap post buff? Leaning towards yes.
interested to see if rifle become good.
It’s gonna have to punch like a Death Star for me to give up the longbow as my ranged option, which is depressing to say as I really wanted to like rifles from the very get go. Being locked down for the burst skill is my only real issue; the times I want to be ranged, I also need to be mobile, and being immobile for that cast can easily turn problematic.
If Might-stacking is the only thing you consider as viable support, you should be a comedian.
This is the basic build that I run, centered around Fast Hands and rapid use of burst skills. Depending on what other Warriors are running in groups, banners can be swapped as needed; also can shift out of Warrior’s Sprint for Vengeful Return if desired, as it can be useful in niche situations.
