Siege breaks zergs, siege is good. It also makes taking keeps harder, which is good. Remeber a month ago when you could take keeps in 2-3 mins?

Taking keeps at ease = more open field/choke point fighting. Sadly players that enjoy that kind of gameplay are just a small niche, but the niche is there nonetheless.
It’s very fun.
The individual is not important in major scale war.
I don’t completely agree with that statement. Even in zerg vs zerg a small number of people people play a huge role in whether you win or lose. If the right people aren’t in the right place your zerg melts, if the right people do their jobs the opposing zerg melts. A 60 vs 60 engagement comes down to 5 or 6 people doing the right things at the right times.
In 60v60 you get skill lag. I seriously can’t see how 5-6 people make a difference pressing 1.
Does this mean anything to the windmill duellers and GvGers? I dunno..
If the JP map has it’s own queue I’d imagine people may start going there to GvG. If it’s tied to the EB queue then it wouldn’t change anything, EB has a queue most of the time in t2 prime.
Higher tier =/= better server.
Higher tier = we have more coverage in time zones.
Infact, lower tiers get better fights than the blobs of higher tiers
I’ve transferred from lower tiers servers to higher tier servers.
Higher tier = Better/much more organized open field fights. (Large scale)
Lower tier = Easier to find smaller scale fights.
That being said, if a higher tier guild went to a lower tier for a week they would just wreck anyone they faced in open field. Lower tier servers straight up don’t have the organization thats so common in higher tiers.
One thing you’ll almost enver see in lower tier servers is GvG action.

What are some of your ideas?
A few comments.
1. Fights like these are only going to be interesting if you include voice. That is what these fights are all about. Communication, movement, position, and coordination. You can only get a feel for that if we hear your commands.
2. Don’t cover up the action bars.
3. Don’t post movies from a full mouse-clicker’s PoV.
You will rarely if ever get full comms. Guilds work very hard at what they do. To post videos with comms, thats kind of giving away how they do things. At least, I know thats why i wouldn’t personally want full comms posted.
point 2 and 3. yes. I agree. Again. Only videos I had on hand in my personal guilds forums.
I understand the desire to keep some of your tactics hidden to the enemy. But if you want to entertain people and draw them in you really need to include communication for these fights.
Keep the calls to push, flank, retreat, etc. Those are things only meaningful for that one fight. Some things are just common knowledge that everyone already knows. You can keep that stuff in the movie.
Just edit out things that you want to keep to yourselves. Trust me, this will make a much more entertaining movie which would actually help your cause since it would draw more people in.
I think a happy middle ground is remove all chatter from the fight, and then add in your own voice afterward with commentary.
Why did we do this? Why did I just CC there? How were we able to counter that? etc etc

I would argue against offering cash incentives. If the purchased guild decides to move on later then there will be plenty of bitterness and resentment. The only time I would consider paying a transfer is to lure a guild or guilds to your tier to help organize and train the current population. This would likely be temporary for the guild transfering but could help structure the servers long term guilds.
You make a good point, SF seriously needs some training if they want to move up any more. Since they are trying to recruit for weak timeslots that leads me to believe they are.
That being said, with so many servers vying for oceanic attention, the only advantage SF could bring would be free transfers for guilds.

I’ve been through T8 and T2 and this is true, but not in the way you mean.
The militia in T2 can probably destroy anything in T8-6, mostly because everyone in T2 knows that running glass is a bad idea. Most players you meet in lower tiers are going to be glass because lower tier servers are mostly PvE servers and glass is king in PvE.
On Commanders, lower tier commanders are pretty good, but I’ve seen straight up genius thinking in T2 that I’ve never ever seen in a lower tier. Not to mention high tier commanders are a lot better at ZvZ fights, mostly due to the fact that server-wide TS or Mumble is very common and widely used.
I haven’t been in T1 since launch, but from what it sounds like the biggest difference between T1 and T2 is coverage… although T1 did revolutionize a lot of things like field usage. Funny enough fields aren’t commonly used in T8-7 yet.

Yeah, it’s possible, if funds is a concern bring it up with us and we’ll at the very least consider it. Forums are one way, registering/posting an inquiry on the server forums might be more beneficial though as the word will spread through SF faster.
You should put this up on the initial post, might spark some interest to some poor oceanic guilds.

Servers in higher tiers (like Tarnished Coast) are paying gold to entire guilds to join them for these exact same spots.
To compete I think you should have the same offer and market yourselves as a lower tier alternative.
With the changes to other professions, primarily Warriors and Thieves, and the fact that one of our heals (Shelter) can be interrupted by Necromancers already anyway… no. I do not believe the dodge heal will ever be nerfed in WvW. The base heal is tiny and you have to give up way too much damage in order to give it a real “kick,” especially if they ever actually nerf Retal damage, as opposed to just its uptime.
300 base healing with an additional 250 from life sigil and another 70 from compotes = 620 heal per roll. Add the stamina sigil in ZvZ and you got constant 620 ticks.
I’d hardly call that tiny, not to mention your not giving up any damage at all to get 620.
This is assuming your running 0/0/30/30/10 or 0/030/20/20 like most do these days.
That being said, if they nerf our heal that is one more step towards making the current Guardian meta useless.
If they remove the AoE cap I’m rerolling Elementalist… along with everyone else.
Allowing players to attacks gates in mass zergs gives the attackers a strong disadvantage by bringing up the orange swords alerting the defenders that the tower is under attack.
KN to Tier 3 won’t be bad at all. I’m getting tired of reading all the forum drama between TC and FA.
Question, does it really matter what Tier you are on? Are the world bonuses higher if you’re on a higher tier or does it only matter if you’re green, blue or red?
Tier matters for fights. In T3 you will never get the intense fights you see in T2.

Kain is a good server as it is, all they need is few more players to be right back in the mix if things in tier 2. Please don’t try and wreck our matchup.
No one knows who this guy is. Probably some troll so I’d ignore it.
Maybe he just doesn’t want our Tier getting more unbalanced? TC already got a lot of transfers, we really don’t want Kain losing guilds, they are always fun to fight and as of right now there isn’t a server that could take their place.
Right now Kain is the only thing keeping TC in check. We rely on them to keep TC busy so we can kill them all
. If Kain lost WM T2 would get pretty boring.

You took the second picture almost the exact same moment I took a picture, I can see our little VK ball getting out of the water. That was probably one of the most ridiculous fights I’ve been in for quite a while. This is why I love T2
If your in a situation where being rooted is OK, then empower is very worth it for the group dps boost.

I’ve been in T8 and T7 (SF recently just went up, and they are about to go up to T6.) I’m currently on FA with you so I know how you feel about the commanders. If you want good commander coverage with a fun community I would highly recommend picking any of the three T7 servers. If you want to join a server on its way up the tiers very quickly I would recommend Sorrows Furnace.
This is gold for anyone interested in becoming a commander some day.

This being said, I honestly don’t think any of the T7 commanders would be able to compete with any of the T2 commanders right away. Tactics in higher tiers are so advanced that lower tiers would have to either adapt or get squashed.
The difference doesn’t lie with siege, but with the battles.

A slew of new less effective builds you mean.
An AH build is the best hybrid build for a guardian because it has strong defense, decent support, and average damage. There are a lot of builds that are pure builds that out perform AH in either support or damage.
Meditation build outperforms in damage but it’s far inferior due to the fact that it has little to no support and it’s damage is lackluster compared to some more dedicated classes anyway. I used to run that build when I was new to the game.
There are NO other builds that outperform AH in support.
Just to clarify, meditation builds are much more suited for smaller scale fights due to it’s higher survivability. You are correct on it’s lack of support though.
I have a toon on HoD thanks to the new transfers and hate to say it but whichever server comes down to T8 is going to be pushed to the bottom. I never believed before that ET and FC would be a good match for T7 before the transfers….but I think I was wrong. Now with the transfers, I don’t think there is a team in T7 that could compete in T8. Once we get out I see the other servers following suite after blowing out the T7 servers that get replace by huge margins.
I think the main issue all three T8 servers have is coverage during non-peak times.

I don’t think they will want to implement something that isn’t consistent through all tiers. Having that in other tiers would be a bigger problem.
I understand, but the problems the glicko ghetto has is not consistent through all the tiers so it’s logical to come with a solution that may go outside the 1-7 consistency.
Thing is it is consistent, problem with T8 is there is no where to go. Your score will just drop until it hits a floor.
That in itself is unique to being the bottom. I understand the system is working consistently, but the end results are inconsistent only on t8.
Finding a solution that is consistent with all 8 tiers is way more work than necessary. Having winner of t8 move up and loser of t7 move down is a very elegant way of solving the issue without messing with every tier. Who knows, maybe the coding for wvw setup makes this impossible.
Ah well. Someone that gets paid to do this is hopefully figuring something out. I just hope they don’t take a long time.

Tier 8 isn’t doing this at all. People are attacking each other and defending like normal.
This may be why we are tier 8…
To easy for the attackers. I am guessing Anet wants it that way to make sure keeps/towers change ownership often.
I would prefer taking a tower/keep to mean something. Currently all it is is the enemy does a circuit taking towers/keeps. They don’t upgrade or siege it up, they just move on to next target. The realm that lost the towers/keeps plays follow the leader and retakes everything in the order it was originally taken.
Defenders should have more of an advantage.
I think changing tower/keep posession makes WvW more fun. Larger/longer sieges are fun for the larger buildings, but I don’t think every little building should take forever to take.

You don’t really need all 3 to be meditations. Smite condition is your main heal since it’s on a 16s CD. The rest are far far longer.
I’ll typically take JI, smite condition, and save yourselves (good for def/off/2nd stunbreaker). It’s slightly less healing, but that second stunbreak has prevented far more damage than I could have healed for with another meditation.
One of the benefits of going meditations is that you can control your heals far more than with AH. It can really help vs. burst damage.

So… you drop contemplation of purity (which breaks stuns) for save yourselves because… save yourselves breaks stuns? My brain hurts.
CoP has less utility than SY. It’s only really usefull if you expect to face condition-heavy teams.
That being said I think
Smite Condition, CoP and Stand Your Ground are way better utilities than what Aberrant listed. SYG gives stability which is huge for PvP… for PvE then SY would trump SYG. JI is just not worth it unless your going pure DPS.
