Thinking about using this sigil and I’m trying to figure out how much damage it would do. It says it “has a 1.0 damage coefficient”. From what I understand, this means the damage would be simply mypower*myweapondmg/enemyarmor. Using average power of 2000, weapon strength of 1100 and enemy armor of 2500, the damage according to this formula would be 2000*1100/2500 = 880. Yet when I asked around, people that use it told me they hit for 1-2k.

So what is the exact formula used to calculate damage for this sigil?

After looking at it a bit, I’d like to see Strength in Numbers and Honorable Shield swap tiers.

That would put Strength in Numbers in the master tier, similar to Spotter and Empower Allies, while making the off-hand weapon trait for shields more accessible.

Would break 50% guardian WvW builds.

I just beat Arah p4 with 3 friends, 2 of them left so we can sell the spots. I was gonna stick around to make sure everything goes smooth. Boss was at 1%, nobody was buying, so we were just standing around. Then, a few people joined, and seconds later, we both get kicked from the dungeon. Once Cursed Shore loads up, I get a prompt to join Arah Explorable. I do, and it turns out it’s a p2 instance and the guy is trying to sell it.

What happened was, someone joined our initial party, and then simply clicked Merge Parties with someone else in LFG. He single-handedly destroyed our instance, and there was absolutely nothing anyone could do.

I personally am never selling another slot on LFG, because this can happen to anyone. I would love it if gw2lfg.com could be revisited just as a tool for dungeon selling, just so I get the option of declining a party invite. Selling an instance feels so incredibly vulnerable right now.

I would only do it again if there was some network of trusted dungeon sellers/buyers, where kitten like this is guaranteed not to happen. Just wanted to let you all know, heads up and watch out.

- Giver’s is the worst gear in game. Swap to PVT, Knight’s, even Cleric’s is better.
- SYG! trumps Hallowed Ground. Swap to that.
- Your Power is miserable. You won’t do any damage whatsoever, rendering your crit chance useless, except for the might and vigor. Swap to Sharpening Stones.
- Virtues have 4-5 excellent traits I can never decide between. Elite Focus is NOT one of them. Swap to X, for example.
- Signet of Judgement… I dunno. It’s great, but other things are better. Like any consecration pretty much.
- If you like boon duration so much, swap food to Omnomberry Cream (20%)

First off, I’m not concerned with capturing or defending stuff. I’m not saying that I plan to avoid it entirely. But boosting the ppt of one’s world is not something I care much about nor am I impressed by commanders who do a good job at it.

With that kind of attitude, I would ask you to tag down and let another commander take over as soon as I saw you on the border. If you only care about fights, join a raid guild. The commander’s purpose is to use the pugs to cap stuff.

Also, if you don’t know what different classes are supposed to do, I’d recommend not tagging up at all until you learn the basics such as that.

I know a lot of servers are in dire need of more commanders to man up and tag up, I come from a server like that, but just any tag will not do. If you don’t care about ppt, you have no business leading the pug zerg. You’re hurting the server more than helping it. Besides, what the kitten kind of good fights do you expect to see in a pug zerg?

I’d like a guild for missions please, as long as I can rep only for the missions ^^

I’m LFG and considering FIRE, but I see you’re not looking for guardians, which is my only class. Is there even a point in applying?

I’m looking for a serious, NOT CASUAL, wvw-only guild. Something like VoTF, VII, Scnd, whoever is looking for members and has some reputation in the field. I’d like to raid at least 5 times per week, not be a weekend warrior. Preferably a guild with some sort of quality control, I want it to be a challenge to get in.

A very well worded post, explaining in detail the problem of queues, OP. It’s not clear to me why this flawed system hasn’t already been improved with a simple fix like allowing access to the information about what your place in the queue is.

If you queue up, and are 10th in line, you know it’s a small wait no matter what. if you’re 100th, you may as well do a dungeon. After 2 hours, if you moved from #100 to #5, you know you’re gonna get there eventually, but if you’re still #100, there’s something very wrong.

I can’t see why this would not be a good idea. It’s an easy, simple fix that, while it may not do anything about the time actually spent in queue, would at least provide the player insight into wtf is going on, and hopefully reassurance that he is, in fact, moving up in the queue.

Sorry to break this to you mate, but if you found 400 armorsmithing expensive, don’t even think about weaponsmithing 500. It’s about 200g to get the last 100 lvls.

What are you on about? 100% swiftness uptime on a guard is easy to achieve, not to mention a 1200 range instant-cast teleport, 600 range teleport with short cooldown and a 600 range leap with short cooldown. If you want to get to placest fast, Guardian is one of the best options out there.

OT: Sure, staff has really low single-target DPS, but used on a group of mobs it’s probably one of the most hard-hitting weapons in game, not to mention the OP utility and sustain it provides. Basically, OP for WvW, not very good for most PvE situations. Consider Empowering, then switching to something else just before you get in combat.

I wasn’t there but been talking with Confuda throughout, you DID wipe RiOT 60v25ish priot to them blobbing up with DeX though because you heard from “good sources” that RiOT was gonna blob up with VcY & DeX tonight lol. (not speaking directly to you/spgr but UW in general.. PaX, SWD etc)

Anyways we should all stop forum boasting, it’s been good fights from both sides.. and both sides blobbed up on eachother just now, so no need to point fingers.

Yeah, prior to that we blobbed up like a monster. Before that, we put so many arrow carts in all our keeps and towers and SWD was even sitting in the map while it was empty just so we don’t get stuck in a Q later. WHY? Because someone told me RiOT, DeX and VcY were coming for us. When someone tells me that, what do you expect? These are all very capable guilds, if I know they will attack somewhere together, I siege it up and blob up and wait for em. Nobody came for 2 hours, however, so almost everyone left. When the monster blob finally appeared, I was left with 30-40 people.

I had all the siege I could wish for, I could have sat my kitten in those T3 keeps and rain arrow on you until you get bored and left. But we went out and fought you in the field, 40v70, time after time. We knew you were getting fat loots and that we had little hopes of making a dent in you (and we never did really), but you can’t say we turtled up. So you won all these fights, but you should never be proud of them, and something tells me they will never end up on youtube with one of those neat intros, since they’re nothing to brag about really.

I was commanding, and I asked for head counts frequently. Highest I got was 43. Average was 30. It was a fun fight, but… next time you say anything about blobs, I will have a stroke.

Ofc it was funny, we still repost it and laugh about it between ourselves nobody is insulted that I know of.

We were equal parts SWD/PAX/pugs, running tagless, we had much fun. You gave us quite a fight, we came close to aborting several times Very nice supply management, especially without a waypoint, and I’m sure those trolls on your side putting down kittenty arrow carts didn’t help >.<

Well, I took my SWD to EB the first time since we made the guild, and it was epic fun. All my respect to VcY, you guys wiped us almost every time with what felt like less people (although half our zerg was PUG), but we did pay you back a fair few times I think. You pull some serious numbers, but that’s not the reason I had to repair armor twice to keep it in one piece, I enjoyed fighting you very much. Neither of us ever hid behind a wall and we all stayed until the end of the fight for better or worse

You won’t see us in EB anymore, this was more of a one-time thing, but I hope we’ll meet again on a borderland during the week. To the rest of you, GL&HF!

We had no influx, I have never heard of a significant WvW guild ever joining UW. But yeah, very nice matchup for the most part. FR has been very aggressive the last few days.

Seen the video from UW from last sunday on Bay… god.. that siege lasted loooooooooooong. Props for keeping the keep, although I didn’t like the way you guys did talk about your foes… :/

As I stated in a comment on that video, I apologize for all the bashing, it was mostly for fun and to keep the morale up (trust me, we needed it xD). Didn’t mean any of it and kudos for keeping it up so long. Still the best fight I’ve had in months.

Good defense of Hills in FSP at 2am.

edit: I never implied we got those points due to superior skill… sometimes we get 30 people on at 3am so we flip maps. It’s that simple.

Much love for my server. 50% of the usual WvW pugs are really cof p1 farmers who gtfo at the first sight of an enemy server, now we have trouble holding more than 2 keeps. Sacrificed home Bay to get inches away from capping your T3 Hills, you were 1 timer too quick to wp in tho, well played.

I just hope someone waked up in EB to take something back. Matchup was pretty even on weekend, but we all know FSP is slow to wake up and we’ll probably keep getting roflstomped to Friday now.

If you have less guardians in your zerg, who will stack retaliation? Who will provide group stability? Will he warriors place a different area denial every 15 seconds? Contrary to popular belief, the guardian’s job is not to heal a zerg, but he is responsible to a lot of other major roles no other class can accomplish. In essence, they form the spine of your zerg. Any other class is replacable IMHO.

Can’t say I feel bad about leading the night cap where we flipped your whole border and most of EB, since you had 40 people on ours at 3am We didn’t have less than you on home for reset, there was a Q for hours there, same goes for FSP border and probably EB, dunno about AS.

At around 5am, we were in garri Lord room and a guy says in /m that we need help in EB because you have 40 people on the map against our 10. Keep wp is contested so I port the zerg to spawn, casually walk to the keep just as you reach inner with I don’t know how many golems. We proceed to kitten our pants, then man the cannons and oil. When golems went down the gate was 10%, so we start repairing. I swear the gate had like 100 hp at some point, then more people put supplies in and we got it up, you had no other siege so we pushed you out. Most epic timing I’ve ever seen, you guys were so close! Glad we kept it tho, looks like this will be a very interesting matchup.

22:51 CEST and the battle is still in full speed at FSP Hills! I was commanding the SWD and GuM part of our zerg in this border for the most part and this was one of the best resets in months. Not many AC, not many siege at all just zerg vs zerg and guild vs guild all night long. kittening loved this, ty for the great fights, especially [PunK]. The battle for the lord’s room is about to start so gotta get back! GG!

Well, after the ‘incident’ in SM, I went to look for this Qla in his border, I looked in Hills and Garrison and even the NE tower but he wasn’t there. I just wanted to apologize for it. Then I kept knocking on Bay doors, but no one was answering for a long time so we just left.

If he wants a word with me, he can mostly find me in our own Bay (the golden winged sword is my guild’s emblem). Cheers!

Sorry, some of our players got really drunk and broke some windows. The walls aren’t fortified anymore also, someone spilled beer all over the waypoint and now that doesn’t work either. I was in your border the whole time, I had nothing to do with it. Was this close to erasing the last waypoint but someone over there finally woke up and called in reinforcements.

I’m not very proud of golem rushing a border at 3am, but I consider it more than fair since your morning cap turned the tide of the matchup And you put up more than a fight at Hills. Almost nothing is decided this week yet, we will see.

I gotta tell you, the morale on our server all-around was non-existent yesterday, because the morning cap left our keeps poorly defended, they were getting flipped every hour. At 2am, I was just upgrading Bay, and EB messaged me saying SM is ours. It was like hope for the next day We will see.

Hehe, 5 FR just sneaked into our border (4am GMT) and built 3 trebs at Vale to treb our Bay. Fortunately there were 3 of us left in the border, and by the time our reinforcements came they only had 2 trebs at less than half hp left ^^ better luck next time, french.

Anyways, as you might have seen our last thread got closed due to too much flaming going on, and just when it started getting better and more polite. I’d like to thank Uttar for sharing what happened last night, it’s good to know we gave you a good fight instead of just letting you stomp all over the border.

As I keep reminding our guys in /m, this has truly been the most interesting matchup in the last month for UW. I’d rather lose by a 1k difference than win by 200k like we did against RoS. It’s on now, you better put some AC on your gates because I will be coming may the best server win!
