Yeah no idea either, they always seem so inconsequential i tend to forget they are even there. You should be able to see when they kick in though by watching your Hitpoints (max HP boost).
- I can see no Mesmer-portal proving the assumption the toon might be pulled out of the water and through the wall by another player.
“All i want is a fair matchup. "
Second that and hopefully there is no further discussion needed.
I just can’t accept any badmouthing related to my guild in such a matter.
He is an Ele, pretty much right next to a door and his RTL is on cooldown. Just let it go, there have been some weird display glitches around lately nametags and all. If your guildmates did not do anything wrong there is no reason to worry. If they did you will not have to worry about them anymore either i’d wager.
Awesome fights so far especially the three way keep sieges. A pity the brackets will fracture so much after this week. Much love from RS!
Why the kitten has the OP been infracted?
I thought it was suppose to be a team effort to take down those type of guys in pvp and not solo.
You can do it solo, but you’ll need control skills to keep chieftain still and evade his boomerang or whatever he throws. Chieftain weakness is pretty much cripple, immobilize and knock backs like any other player that doesn’t have a stability ability.
You missed the point. Chieftain is slightly harder to kill than Svanir and this is a tournament map.
In my experience it’s not so much us being bad at support but Elementalists and Guardians being better at it with less effort required. Now that Fear is fixed there is practically nothing we can do more reliable/effective. Weakness and Plague Form can be great but they don’t require you to go all out support.
I don’t know if some one brought it up but why do you have 2 on crit runes, thought they didn’t play nice together.
The 2 Lyssa runes are for the 10% increase duration to conditions, which effects terror so that you get 2 ticks of 1k damage per fear.
He meant weapon sigils.
Of course you could also just add wells to this in a hybrid build
This is excactly what the vast majority of tPvPers is running. Carrion + Corruption/Suffering and of course Signet of Undeath. Epidemic is still a great teamfight utility though.
To be fair the major offenders are usually not Epidemic but our Wells, Greatsword Warriors and pretty much every Thief specc besides MH Pistol.
In wvw epidemic is one of the few ways to bust a zerg. Ill be really cheesed if they nerf it.
Its unlikely that this nerf (if it hits epidemic) will affect WvWvW, WvWvW is treated as PvE by the developers, as for sPvP yep those guys are pretty screwed…
You mean like they make sure not to kitten PvE Mesmers off? We are screwed.
See how much I’m helping, anet? I’ve already found the 10 people who actually like minions, so you can go convert them to ranger or something.
Is this some kind of horrible Troll Unguent pun where you are the troll?
Should this actually ever become an endemic problem in WvW all they need to do is make Fear a regular control debuff as it should be. Once it is no longer affected by Condition Duration they can provide reasonable trait options for people who want to capitalize on the damage from Terror and/or the longer crowd control duration.
Other than WvW it was one of the best options for tPvP even before the buff and is probably still one of the worst for PvE.
I edited my post to reflect the 4.5*level coefficient for Terror base damage and to Arcades Sabboth, the +50% damage works in both PvE and the mists/sPvP. I tested in all 3 areas last night.
Can you tell me how to reproduce please?
In my tests I saw no difference from Fear with no condition onto the target and Fear with another condition applied.
Use Staff 5 or DS 3, check if Fear is the only condition on the golem (Barbed Precision sucks), wait for damage tick. Apply condition with Staff 5, Dagger 4 or something similar that does not fill your screen with bleed ticks, rinse and repeat. You can turn your back to the mob when using DS 3 so you won’t start autoattacking it.
1279 Condtion damage, 746 Terror without another condition, 1120 with another condition applied for both Fears
The trait is bugged and there is no buff. This is the damage I always had with Terror.
Are you sure your Staff 5 did not crit? I can not replicate what you described, Staff 5 and 3+5 are working just fine for me with Terror.
662 DMG with 1000 Malice, 729 DMG with 1223 Malice.
so +67 dmg for 223 Malice or a 0,3 ratio
thus +300 dmg for 1000 malice which leaves 362 base dmg
also 80 * 4 = 320 i guess it is 2 + LvL * 4,5
Neither weapon damage nor power coefficients for Daggers seem to have changed as far as i can tell. Under which conditions do you run those tests?
It’s 2 + level * 1.5 + 0.3 Malice which means 122 base damage.
Source
662 DMG with 1000 Malice, 729 DMG with 1223 so no, it is not.
It is 362 base damage plus 30% Malice. As with all other condition damage ticks it will trigger every 1 sec after being applied.
ITT: Blatant disregard for the wishes of at least a vocal minority of fellow Necromancers that will not effect the OP’s playstyle in any way.
On that note – did anyone else feel it was kind of unsettling that Poison is a more noteworthy defining class perk than minions? Referring to the Patch footnotes of course and yes i am aware that they are probably just an on-the-fly appendix.
So the wiki is wrong, and its actually a stronger debuff damage wise than burning, so I have no idea what formula is used. It seems to get about 46% of your condition damage.
It is 30% Malice and 362 base dmg.
The numbers i got last time i tested Terror were something like 362 base dmg and 30% condition damage scaling. That seems to fit nicely with what has been posted here.
SERIOUSLY WTF? All classes except the warrior got their blast dodges removed
Reckless Dodge
and here where it says at the bottom of the page that its a blast finisher
Blast Finisher
It’s even an adept minor trait.
Well its kind of obvious because they love warriors, they are OP as hell and they didnt nerf anything in the new patch (even increased some things)
I don’t have much playtime on my Warrior but i am like 95% sure that Reckless Dodge is not a blast finisher (anymore?). Would be just another wrong/outdated info on the Wiki.
They have gradually removed blast finishers from all dodge traits. If you think this sucks talk to an Elementalist and mention Evasive Arcana. They are ready to set fire to something.
I actually use Axe/Mace for my silly control build, and I don’t see what’s so bad about it. Makes up for my poor damage as opposed to mace/mace while still offering some nice control thanks to a ranged cripple that becomes an immob thanks to my traits.
Warrior Forums this way =>
I think Ascii is right, actually. I test on golems every single day and with the exact same build I had before the patch I’m definitely killing the golems faster.
Something was changed. Also Necrotic Grasp is 1400 rnage now which is pretty sweet with it’s increased speed.
Don’t look at the tooltips, they are outdated once again. Focus doesn’t even show that it adds 4 vulnerability instead of 3 now.
Jon did good with damage boost.
I still hit the heavy golems for the exact tooltip damage and i have not noticed any changes in our attack speeds so how much is definitely faster?
Tooltips on my naked Necromancer in the Mists are still the same as they were about 3 weeks ago when i wanted to determine the coefficients. The only change i’m seeing is Axe 2 going up 10%.
Team up with a Guardian. Virtue of Justice can translate into some really cool damage spikes.
It would be a lot better if it worked more like Choking Gas. As it is you are not very likely to get more than 5 seconds of Poison and Weakness ouf of it.
This is confusing. Can one be chided for necroing threads in the Necro forums?
The simplest way to look at it is that toughness is multiplicative of vitality. If you spec into vitality you will have more resistance to conditions however direct damage will eat through you (8k crit from heart seeker)
It would be more accurate to say that Toughness makes it easier to recover from damage through healing since the Heartseeker will cost you an equal percentage of your max HP either way.
As far as I know, no one has tested (and posted the results) if epidemic can spread conditions to everyone in range, or only 5 targets. It’s difficult to test, theres so many numbers popping up at once
Just go to the cluster of golems in the western corner of the Mists. You can even screen by color if you stack some poison!
Are pets counted into this limitation of five?
No response for the spread across standing target and target ground?
I’m not really sure what you mean? Maybe your Epidemic was dodged. I never noticed it missing when the target is cc’ed. Then again i do not use it very often.
Area of effect abilities are limited to five targets determined by proximity.
The funny part is that they do have a working AI in their code. Mesmer clones and ranger pets don’t have this idling problem.
Rangers have a PET ATTACK command. Mesmer phantasams can only be summoned with a target already locked and in range.
That’s the difference.
Well Spirit Weapons and Elementals are working just fine as far as i’m aware of.
Yeah about that. Bone Minions are bugged. They trigger two blast finishers each.
Of course it will not. It does not help though that Gourds, Mesmers and especially Elementalists can provide really good AoE removal while also being wildly popular for several other reasons. Should bunkers lose teeth to the nerfbat anytime soon things could get a lot more interesting again.
Whatever happened to the proposed retaliation tone-down anyway?
Condition Necros are always more powerful when partnered with other classes, especially Engineers and Guardians. Our access to burning and confusion may be very limited and/or situational but that is a necessity with the bleed durations we can achieve. I just wish we had more combo options i really miss those when playing Necro.
Why are 90% of these discussions about hot join 1v1? A good thief does not start fights he ends them. And he is way too good at it.

Why does it feel like the Eye of Mordor just passed by? I really hope we see some bugfixes in that Nov 15th patch.
Yes it is still a 5 sec bleed. The tooltips in this game are horrible.
TL:DR -
I can tell you that cantrip builds for the Elementalist are the ONLY way to stay competitive with the class.
Mistform is invaluable. The others … not so much. Most S/D Eles run any combination of arcane utilities now.
Tbh I dont understand why people still complain about mesmers (…)
People complain because most changes barely scratched the most prevalent mesmer builds in PvP while they kind of stabbed PvE mesmers in the back. Why you still don’t drop bundles when going through a portal is beyond me. Also comparing your portal to Flesh Wurm and Shadowstep is kinda cynical.
€: I think portal is a great utility with a lot of potential in conquest and game modes to come alike, but on Kyloh it is just silly at times.

What are those minions you speak of? All we have are non combat Mini pets.
I like how thieves keep pretending that running Rabid over Carrion makes you less ‘glassy’ vs. physical burst damage. Not like there is pure glass cannon jewelry for condition classes. Or purely tanky stuff for that matter lol.
Cool pic. Unfortunately, lot of BS here
I think you kind of miss the point of this picture. Even so, most of the traits you listed are still bugged according to the compilation thread in this very same forum. Then again i gave up on testing builds a while ago. shrug
Now all we need is that screenshot worked into a dartboard!
Might I ask for an *experts* response on the following bug report:
in Necromancer

In b4 this thread is closed by Voldemort. Need some faith restored.
I may get shouted at for going off topic while not even flaming someone … but do weapon swap sigils no longer work with attunements? Can’t seem to get my Battle one to work anymore.
Should have added in tPvP. At least our Ranger bretheren and fellow Guardian overlords can wallow in the filth our locusts leave behind.
From a PvP standpoint i gurantee you that our bugs are quite capable of sucking the fun right out of you, especially when you run into them for the first time. People do get tired by having to build around glitches and maybes after a while.
