arah dungeon set I think
But should it be ‘really great’ without speccing into it? DS is very good if you spec for it, but it is still a very nice ability to have without putting any points towards it. You won’t be using it offensively very much but it is amazing defensively. I don’t think it is really fair to make DS a super ability just by virtue of having it and not needing to build around it.
I like it as is. I think necros definitely need some love for vampiric/life stealing abilities, but no reason to change lich form.
No, the end game here is all about cosmetics. Doesn’t make sense to have the true end-game weapon be leagues better than the rest.
I agree. Perhaps you could choose a weapon specialization also so that all weapon boosting skills get changed to that particular weapon.
Explorable: Hard
Story: Easy
Unless you want to have more options so that we can have: Easy easy, easy hard, hard easy, hard hard.
Roll a thief and use withdraw. Or don’t wait until you’re at 5 hp to heal.
How much time do you spend on dynamic events and crafting?
Neither should be required. I completed all four campaigns in GW1 without ever doing anything for the sake of being high enough level to complete a goal.
Good thing this isn’t GW1 then.
I don’t think its possible to just go straight from 1-15 to 15-25 to 35-45, etc, etc, nor is it intended. There is a reason they didn’t make just one zone for each bracket. Lvl 12 and finished your starting zone? Good thing there are 4 more. It’s like that for pretty much the entire game. Zones aren’t designed to get you from the minimum lvl to the maximum lvl for the zone. If you’re ‘outpacing’ the content, do some crafting, DEs, or just move to a different zone in the same bracket. You never need to kill boars in the forest to lvl.
Is the only problem with DPS counters that someone’s flaws might be revealed and they’ll be pressured to play the game more optimally?
Back in the game that must not be named, I was on multiple occasions kicked out of parties for having terrible DPS. As the healer. The idea of a DPS meter can be good on paper, but once you add the ‘idiot variable’ it becomes just a terrible idea.
And so starts the flame war. No, DPS meters are terrible, always have been, always will be. Go to the mists and try out different builds on the heavy golem, whatever kills it the fastest, go with that.

A request for reduced requirements and/or complaining about current conditions does NOT equate to entitlement. Period. Now if I said, “Anet should just give me a legendary because I bought the game,” then you would have grounds on blaming me for that. However, I never once said that. Please stop implying that is what I am saying because it’s not.
You have an intentionally closed definition of entitlement. If you think something should be just given to you for no work, that’s entitlement. If you think the requirements for something are too hard and they should be reduced to MEET YOUR STANDARDS, that is also entitlement, thinking that everything needs to revolve around you. As soon as you want something nerfed because you personally do not agree with it, you’ve crossed into entitlement.
No. I would agree about a more special celebration when actually crafting it, but does anyone even have a legendary right now? For all we know there very well could be. As for the grinding part, I hate to do this, but I have to just call you out for QQing. It’s a legendary, you aren’t supposed to do a dungeon and have it drop, you’re supposed to work for it and it is supposed to take a long time, that is the entire design of the legendary crafting. Not everyone is supposed to get them, but everybody has access. If it sounds like too much work for you, then you won’t get one, plain and simple, but that isn’t to say that you can’t.
If it was like most games and sent you back to a lobby to queue up for another game, you would have a point. With the instant rotation system, I think it’s fine the way it is. I didn’t like it at first but I do now. I would cry if I had to play 30 minute games in RotC, even 7-8 minutes is too much.
My thoughts… OP wants 30 min Khylo games so he can spam the treb in random areas and get lots of glory for no skill.
I thought non-leveled PvP was the whole point of this game? Glory doesn’t mean you’re good. If you get rank 30 on a thief, then go play on a ranger, you would be put in the “high rank” games, even though you have no idea what you’re doing. Its fine as it is IMO.
I am very confused… why do you want the 2nd item? If you want it for 2 characters, then wear it on 1, put it in the locker and wear it on another. If you only worry about 1 character, why would you ever need the 2nd unless its a DW item?
I agree with most, but I’m confused about GTAOE. Do you have the option enabled to instantly cast at your mouse, or do you hit the button, target, then cast? I’ve done all my PvP mouse-turning with necro with GTAOE marks and wells and engineer throwing elixirs and I have never had an issue, and I play without the insta-cast-at-mouse feature.
The colored armor sets will make the game much easier to follow for NEW spectators once Anet moves forwards with its plans for E sport.
Hey bro i remember buying a game not a TV show.
We all bought the game. The fact is SPvP is built around becoming an Esport. I’m not opposed to having our personalized colors show but there is a legitimate reason for the color scheme and no one in the thread acknowledged it, so I did.
Then esport tournaments can use basic colours. As for the rest of us it should be a choice.
I’m curious to see what classes the people who think downed is fine play, I’d bet a lot of money it isn’t an ele. I think it’s a stupid idea to begin with, but at the very least if ANet won’t take it out, at least make it remotely balanced. Mesmers can get a clone to confuse you (not hard to counter to be honest but still an interrupt) and then do a good amount of dmg with their 3. Thieves can teleport away and then if you don’t start finishing them immediately they can stealth away. Warriors get their interrupt and then get their vengeance, which I’m ok with, until you find the warriors that spec to rally from vengeance. Meanwhile eles can immobilize, real helpful, and if they’re lucky or against someone taking a long time they can mist away, then just die since you can just follow them. The imbalance between downed skills is ridiculous, and it gets even worse when you notice that the classes with the most OP downed abilities are the most OP classes to begin with.
Either remove it from sPvP completely (or at least hot join) or balance it. Each class gets basic damage and bandage, no gimmicks, no escapes. Oh, and to whoever says “well you don’t need to finish them, you can just kill them through it” great idea until you try doing that outside of a burst class. On a toughness, kiting based engineer it takes me forever to try that. And if its on a thief, that just gives him time to get his escapes back off cooldown and run further and further away from any objective.

So this is now a bug rather than just terrible design? Good to know if I ever want a sylvari mesmer or ele.
Still not understanding all the troubles people have with engineers, I’ve been trying it out and its amazing so far. The kiting possibilities are absolutely ridiculous, I can almost hear warriors punching their screen. Haven’t run into any class where I get worried in 1v1.
A question for the guy who said elixirs are useless, what do you use in their place? Elixir C, condition remover. Elixir S, stun breaker (alongside the countless other benefits, e.g. easy finishers). Elixir U is alright when trying to burn down that last little bit of health, but gets problematic in heavy AoE fights or when you’re fighting more than 1 person. Overall I think elixirs are amazing in PvP, its the turrets and kits that are next to worthless.
Engineers are very confusing to me, not that the skills are complicated or the class is complex, more that I decided to try one out in sPvP and I’ve been doing amazing. I haven’t lost a single 1v1 fight, I actually managed to win a couple 2v1s (something I could never do on my necro), frequently #1 overall, and I still have no idea really what I’m doing with the class. I don’t use turrets, not sure what my build is, just something about it seems surprisingly… easy.
p.s. yes I realize sPvP is not exactly full of awesome, skilled players
I remember thinking the exact same thing, whoever designed that quest completely disregarded about half the classes in the game. Forcing cloth wearers to get into melee range with a sword is ridiculous, at the very least we should be able to choose between say a sword, staff, or bow (gun wouldn’t really fit the lore of the quest). It took me about 15-20 minutes to actually kill him so I’ll give you a tip. When getting to him, don’t worry about the risen, just run there asap. Use signet of spite and power of blood as utilities, 3rd doesn’t really matter. Basically its just a matter of using your ranged utilities and doing as much damage as possible with the sword each time your heal is up, then hide behind the tower (the one right behind him) until your abilities are off CD, rinse and repeat.
Awful, awful design
