Finally we have the date and artwork teaser thingy. What do you think of it? The place looks kind of like a part of Maguuma. Doesn’t the boat look a bit Canthan though?
Edit: Actually it looks like Orr after Trehearne’s clensing ritual. Which would make sense if we’re going south to Elona.

Malyck, because he was awesome and mysterious. But I guess there was a chance for that in HoT, I guess there is no hope for that anymore. Also, I would be really, really happy to see characters from “Ghosts of Ascalon” coming into storyline like Ember, Gullik and Dougal. I’m just wondering why haven’t this happened before. I’d like to see Dagonet, who was a Fristborn stanging in DR in the past, to get some light in some missions, we do not know much about him. And the two unknown Firstborn could finally come out. And Sayeh, the largos! I liked her a lot and I’m interested in that race.
I love so much how from talk about living story you went to complaining about PvP. It’s not the right forum for that anyways. :P This is a MMO game so obviously it works differently here. You can’t just change the world as you like, there has to be certain limitations so new players don’t just go into a world that is completely different to the “original one”. In LS1 season they were changing the world more significantly than now like Lion’s Arch. That’s the biggest change they can afford here I guess.
Well I am really late with posting that, but I am gonna talk about Trailers structure and differences in Trailers and in Episodes. Then I will post my opinion about them.
1) Flashpoint
-in trailer Kasmeer says: “What should we do”, but in episode she say: “What should we… How should we be prepared”
-in trailer Kasmeer’s reaction is nothing what we saw in episode- in trailer she says: “No, it can’t be” and her reaction is soft. But suddenly in episode she is just collapsed: she says “(gasp)Balthazar!” They should not do something different here and here, because it confuses so much.I truly cannot believe that people are now having problems with different wording by characters in trailers and in-game. The scene of Balthazar’s reveal is perfect for trailer of this episode. Do you expect them to have Kasmeer say his name in the trailer? I do not think so. And in-game balthazar has to be named, because many players may not jump straight to confusion that we are looking at one of the human Gods. I completely understand ArenaNet doing that and I won’t mind if they do that in the future.
Well if you don’t see problem, it’s your worry. It’s pretty weird. If they would use this model in LS2’ trailers, then you would not hear “Ascalon I free you from this curse”, and you would hear “No, it can’t be” instead (just for example
)
I am not saying that they should put the true Kasmeer’s reaction when she says “Balthazar!”…. But it’s some kind of lying in trailers and generating hype.
You really can’t see the problem? In trailer for Flashpoint Kas has totally DIFFERENT reaction, different words, everything was different, she says: “it can’t be” but suddenly in the episode she just: IT’S BALTHAZAR!! I AM TOTALLY BROKEN!
So this is what I am talking about: IT’S LYING to generate hype.
But if they would not hide everything and do something like in ’Dragon’s Reach part 1’ that Rytlock actually says the huge thing that he is gonna cleanse Ascalon from Foefire, they would make it different and Kas would actually reacts about Balthazar and say: “Balthazar!” But I am totally aware that it’s totally different situation, because it was revealing of secret, so they just used the lie to make people even more CONFUSED.
I just miss the old amazing trailers, LS3 is the biggest disappointment for me, I see some possitives, but these misunderstanding, this keep hyping people, these secrets, everything is just annoying, starting to be boring.
You can focus on possitive things, and good for you, but don’t say to me that I am not right, because I see problems, and you don’t. And you proved it with your post.
First of all, this trivial thing of words being different is not a thing of “worry” for me. I think it’s just not anything important that we should focus on.
Also I think you use a terrible example of Rytlock’s quote. We hear “Ascalon, I free you from this curse!” and what do we get while playing? Rytlock is taking just a couple of ghosts to the mists. That was quite a huge disappointment for me back then.
Stop exaggerating. Kasmeer is not yelling that she is broken. During the reveal both in the trailer as in the game she is shocked and surprised, so the general theme of her reactions is the same. So in the end we get a similar reaction in the trailer that uses different words in order to not reveal Lazarus’s identity, but still is generating hype, because that’s what a trailer should do. If you feel like ArenaNet are lying to us by basically changing a couple of words in an understandable way (at least for me) then I respect your opinion, but honestly for me it’s ridiculous. And I didn’t feel confused (you put emphasis on that word as if players were overwhelmed by that thing) by any of that. I never said you are wrong, I do not agree with your opinion though. And don’t say that “you see problems when I don’t” like you were enlighened here or something. From my perspective you are looking at problems where these do not exist.

I like the new Lion’s Arch. Vesuvius you are right, it’d be a stupid idea to see this city being destroyed and rebuild over and over again. Other cities are just as good targets to be attacked by dragons. I’d rather be interested in The Grove and Rata Sum being attacked one day by minions of the Deep Sea Dragon.
The art is beautifully made, but are these ummm… dragons?
Oh guys. OMG. I have the terrible presentiment that we will see a vision in the end of the whole story. Not even vision, but what Aurene will actually see. I mean Balthazar knows about Aurene so perhaps he is gonna come to Tarir and kidnap Aurene? O_o And what if he is gonna kill lot of Exalted, Luminate and Caithe on his way to get her?!
Oh man… What if Aurene will get her power then and she will kill Balthazar. O_o
That’s really crazy theory, but if we would get the vision or even what Aurene will see in the situation when she will be in danger that would be awesome.
Or even not that cataclismic as I said before, maybe when Balthazar will come to attack her, she will defend Tarir and Caithe? WOW Now I am hyped for ep 6 as hell XD
Wow I really like these ideas. What if Caithe sacrifices herself to save Aurene? That would be a good way to end her story. Although I’d rather expect that with two dragons going to pre-awakening state in which they start releasing energy, the other two will start being more active. Perhaps Kralkatorrik will see Aurene as a threat and will send some champion for her? Or maybe Gleam will finally be revealed and he will save Tarir if it’s be under attack? Can’t wait.
Guys, I have no idea where do you get the idea that Balthazar is Menzies now. What I was thinking about is that the state that Balthazar is in (he’s weak) is Menzies’s fault, because they basically were at war in GW1 and we have no idea what happened since then. Perhaps Menzies took Balthazar’s divinity or something. For sure there is no more disguise thing going on. So my idea so far: Menzies won the war and weakened Balthazar and now is close to godhood. Menzies is evil so Lyssa helped Balthazar to get away by giving him the enchanted mirror. These are just my ideas though.
There was a new GS skin added with this interesting name. Well I wouldn’t expect it to be a coincidence. Menzies is Balthazar’s half-brother and an enemy. Perhaps he was the one who weakened Balthazar so significantly that he needed to return to Tyria? Any thoughts?
Devs confirmed that he will be back. Maybe some god-fight?
Well the elder dragons were draining magic from all Tyria. They might as well drained enough to weaken all the gods. Balhazar may be the one looking for the magic to restore himself to godly power.
Apparently as I found on reddit, this is in Ascalonian alphabet. It reads:|
ZINN
HIS GENIUS KNEW NO BOVNS.
Whatever “bovns” is supposed to mean.
At first glance I was sure the first word would be “ZINN”. That would get us:
ZINN _ I _ _ NI _ N _ N_ _ _ N
Going further I’d be guessing:
ZINN
HIS _ NI _ N _ NO _ _ N
Any further or other ideas?
All the Mursaat were killed in GW1 except for Lazarus who split his soul or whatever. That would be silly if they decided to go like “oh well let’s add another Mursaat survivor, YOLO”. In the trailer Lazarus is surrounded by purple mesmery illusion thing. It looks like he’s revealing his identity by unveiling the illusion. I guess whoever it is, it should be some mesmer.
Livia in GW1 was interested in the Scepter and mentioned Arah as a place where she though it would be.
This game is an MMORPG. If there is a content that requires finding another player to play with – it’s normal even for the story missions. Nothing wrong with that, it’s not a singleplayer game. I’m happy when group content is encouraged.
Kralkatorrik’s expansion will come later in my opinion. As someone stated – Aurene is too your for now and she is daughter of his champion Glint so there will be for sure much connection with them in the future storyline. Also I’d expect bofore heading for Kralkatorrik we will meet Gleam – Aurene’s older brother which will help us for sure. For now I’d expect Jormag’s and Primordus’ story to develop and I expect Jormag to be the one defeated while Primordus survives and leaves. He is supposedly the most powerful one. At least that’s what was being hinted before the release. I’d expect him to be the last one. I’d even say that he might flee to Elone where we could fight him after killing Kralkatorrik and making our way through Palawa Joko’s territory. As for DSD, I would expect to fight him in Cantha expansion in Jade Sea. Just a guess though!
In the articles from before release of the game it was stated that noone can cross from Tyria to Elona except for the Order of Whispers somehow. Palawa Joko is blocked by an Elder Dragon from coming north. And it would be quite risky for him to leave Elona alone and travel to Tyria.
I’d say it would be quite silly wrting if first we would see Lazarus, then discover it’s not him and then again “oh it’s him in the end”. Not a fan of this theory, but I see that it would make sense probably more than any other.
If it would not be Lazarus, it would have to be someone able to consume the Bloodstone’s Power and at the same time use an illussion or shapeshift into the Mursaat. I just checked GW1 wiki and interestingly Gleam’s profession is mesmer.
I wouldn’t say it is a human (including Livia who shouldn’t have any power to mimic Lazarus) or any other playable race, I consider them too weak to survive through that kind of process.
I still would slightly consider a seer, because of their power and knowledge of both mursaat and bloodstones. I’d rather say we will see this race later, but still very soon – current events in LS are going around the Mursaat so there could be no better moment to introduce them again.
Concluding: now I think Lazarus being himself is a boring idea but most probable to happen. Gleam on 2nd place and a seer on 3rd.
So, now we know that Lazarus is not truly Lazarus. So, who is powerful enough to be such a pretender? Personally I’d say it could be a seer. A powerful creature that knows enough about Mursaat to pose as one of them. Also, a seer could be interested in aiding the 5 races of Tyria like in GW1 a seer helped humans.
Hey,
the updates on Tuesdays come at 8 pm I think. Maybe an hour or two before, but for sure in the evening between 6 and 8 pm.
I’m really happy that Caithe is back to normal, I can’t wait to see her going on next adventures with us. Can’t wait also for return of the Pale Tree and Logan coming with Zojja to our guild.
I was really happy to see interactions with Aurene this chapter. It was a very nice story step. The new map looks stunning! But the last instance with Braham… It made me feel so bad about him that I wouldn’t mind if he was killed off very soon. I would actually prefer that to happen. I expect his plan and Taimi’s plan to collide which in the end wil be a cause of some disaster.
I don’t mind having Caithe in the guild. I think it’s okay that Marjory went with Lazarus. In the end someone should keep an eye on such a powerful creature and a potential ally. But Braham was a complete disaster in this chapter. At this time I’m starting to hate him. But on the other hand breaking the icy tooth of the dragon keeps me interested in what will the norn do and what will we do with Taimi. Will we be the ones who were right or the legend were true? Or will our plans collide and in the end people will just die because Braham decided to take a different path?
This is so true! The views are absoulutely picturesque! I will spend a lot of time in Bitterfrost Frontier. And look at all the lore dialogues you get from the NPC! I love it!
Caithe was always our ally. She always focused on destroying Zaithan in main storyline. In “Edge of Destiny” after all the others lost hope in rebuilding the guild she was trying to calm them down and it was her who arranged the meeting in Lion’s Arch. Even after the lost battle with the crystal dragon she was said to travel around dragonbrand collecting Kralkatorrik’s blood hoping it would help in the future encounter with him. She killed Wynne believing this would protect the secret of sylvari which could cause a tragedy for the race. She trusted herself in this situation as when she stole the egg which was her Wyld Hunt. I think we can forgive her the thievery which was caused by Mordremoth trying to control her along with the Wyld Hunt. During the fight with Mordremoth she suspected that after Mordremoth’s death, she would die with all her race and she was still willing to do it. I trust her and I believe with Faolain’s and Mordremoth’s deaths she will be able to trust others and will become once again a strong ally for us.
I want to meet Malyck again. One of the best personal story characters. Also, I’d like to know why was he so similar to Pale Tree’s sylvari. I hope he’s all right.
I want to see other Grove. Even if it’s probably corrupted by Mordremoth and is a mordrem factory. And of course I’d love to meet Malyck again. One of my favourite PS characters. He must had been strong enough to fight off Mordremoth’s influence.
