Incentives mean nothing when those demand to be resurrected in battles where bosses NEED your immediate attention to keep from dying yourself or lounging around in the fire. If you’re in poison or fire, waypoint yourself out and run back. That’s common sense. Don’t just sit there roasting dead, the fight is still scaled up when you’re dead on the ground.

I won’t miss them.

I must say, the difficulty is nice, but soloing World 2 Zone 2 Pain Cliffs . . . really indeed is a pain in the kitten . Currently stuck at the tower where you have to hit the gong, roll it all the way down and use it for covering against the traps. What I find unreasonable and frustrating is that the gong that rolls down after you hand palm it doesn’t turn very well. When it turns, it literally kittenblocks your path making your vulnerable to traps especially when you have 2 consecutive traps back to back on different sides.
I like the challenges, but I also finishing a zone is definitely taking too long as well might I add. Not cool since there isn’t any save progress in a zone.
ANET at the 20 minute mark sums that up nicely.

It makes me sad when this is being called to get nerfed after a DAY of being out there.
There are some hard parts but my goodness people, at least give it more than one day’s try before you decide it’s too hard and needs to be summarily whacked by the nerfstick.
Otherwise I’m worried what’ll happen when/if MK Clock Tower comes back.
Clock tower was doable after muscle memory kicked in AND it cost you NOTHING to continue to try.
SAB gives you a lockout in finite continue coins and wants you to try and try again. Only muscle memory won’t save you from bugs, obfuscated traps and op enemies.

I feel that World 2 has robbed me of the pleasure of playing SAB. I grew up with those “hard” games back in the day, many of the mechanics were designed to burn quarters in Arcade machines or add artificial replayability. We don’t live in those times anymore and designs have improved. IN this case the argument can be made that the infinity coin adds suspicion that the content was designed around using it.
Bugs In World 2 Zone 1:
- Rapids lock you out of control of your character for a good 3 seconds and severely reduces movement. This is up from the last time.
- Geysers has a random problem where you can get locked down, missing a jump. I’ve tried and reproduced it numerous times. The lockdown robs players of their jump. Falling into the water that robs of complete movement forcing you to eat a life.
- Assassins are Overpowered. There’s no time to dodge them anymore. Especially on a raft. In addition Sword Assassins hit reach is very far. Purple Assassins have that ball and chain that has a very wide arc. Can’t dodge them in time either.
- There is no TELEGRAPH for the circular laser movement of the cage boss at the end when he does a 360 board flush. (Coin Robber)
Bugs in World 2 Zone 2:
- Some Tree Platforms have an invisible edge that makes it harder to jump at from below.
- Thief Owls have two short a cooldown, the will rob you blind after sitting there for 30 seconds trying to figure out the jumps.
- Dart traps do not telegraph and blend in with the background making them near impossible to avoid. One hit kill = Arcade Coin Robber.
- Dart Traps can sometimes hit you through the gong when in the trap tower running next to it.
- Assassins again, extremely OP and often unavoidable. (Coin Robber)
That’s all I got. The dart trap tower ensured that we couldn’t progress due to randomly getting shot through the gong.
For anyone trying to do this for the rewards, just farm World 1. Its less frustrating and slightly better designed.

Thaumanova already happened. The rest is cleanup, just like the Japan Nuclear fallout.
http://mists.cadimus.net
Which is why content should stop being so temporary.

Out of all the whine threads from both sides of the vote, this has to be the worst.
http://mists.cadimus.net
It generated strong emotions, lively discussion, lots of roleplaying and an event which will be talked about for a while. For better or worse, any games dev would be jumping for joy at the reaction their game has got.
I don’t think that any game dev would want to deal with the fallout as a result. This was a double edged sword for sure.

Sorry going to have call bullkitten on them caring about Evon at all. If they had cared in even the slightest would have balanced the rewards and introduced Evon Gnashblade sooner so he would have been as known as Kiel. As it stands they put well liked stuff such as waypoints against heavily hated stuff like RNG keys. It was so obvious who’d win it was painful to even see ANYONE try to call it a real election.
Evon has been around since the game came out, staring at us as we visit the LA trading post.
While we didn’t adventure with him, Kiel was brand new. The story brought Kiel from generic nameless guard to a ship captain. It would have been odd for Evon the insanely rich merchant to join in an adventure.
You’d be surprised at what wealthy people do for more money.
http://mists.cadimus.net
The stories would be better if it was Joss Whedon.

Why are so many people making proclamations like:
most the people voting for Ellen didn’t care about fractals but voted for lower WP costs or because Ellen is the “good guy” and they didn’t want to vote for a Charr
Are people really so dense as to think that they are the only ones who research their decisions before making them? Just because someone came to a different decision than you did doesn’t mean that they are ignorant or that their decision making process was shallow.
I could make a sweeping proclamation that Kiel should have won by a much larger margin, and a huge portion of Gnash’s voters just wanted cheaper black lion keys, but that wouldn’t make it true.
I voted for Gnashblade, btw.
Have you seen the state of the United States Congress? People vote for petty and unscrupulous things all the time. His proclamation isn’t any less valid than yours.
http://mists.cadimus.net
If someone can’t afford $60 to play a game then they have no business playing. If you are a grownup, you should know that $60 is petty cash. If you are a teen , $60 is still petty cash if you have a minimum wage job.
Buy once, play everything in it forever. That is the best deal for any game. Those who cannot agree with that are surprisingly stupid IMO.
$60 is petty cash for people with little responsibility and no budget. Don’t make blind assumptions. Quite a few F2P MMOs have similar deals for similar amounts of money that is kept forever also. They’re usually called “packs” or something other “edition”. When a MMO goes F2P, players who bought the box are called “preferred” and get to keep everything they bought that was a part of the box plus privileges that they previously enjoyed.
GW2 in essence is a F2P MMO since most privileges are low from the beginning and requires monetary investment to build up, like storage for example. Not to mention, no monthly fee.
http://mists.cadimus.net
This just shows that most of the gw1 fanbase is not playing gw2.
I voted for Kiel around 300 times. Want to see my GWAMM? Don’t make assumptions without any ground.
I guess the “MOST” word was pretty absent yet?
http://mists.cadimus.net
They said that the other fractal won’t be made. Many, many times. Just search for it.
http://mists.cadimus.net
He is a rich jerk that loves RNG and supposedly he is Canadian (just sayin).
That is exactly why the human won. Clowns attached him to Cox or whomever that person’s name is that likes lockboxes.
slow down there, I voted for Kiel because she represents my interest. more importantly, I voted for Kiel because I knew a lot of Gw1 fanboys ( I did play gw1 off and on for 7 years but I don’t consider myself a fanboy) would get really mad if Evon won. Also I always thought Abaddon was a bad villain.
Abaddon was so bad, he made Shiro seem intelligent but the worst part is that he let Kormir outsmart him.
So you picked failed Asuran Experiment #431 fractal
I picked the one that was more interesting. I fought Abaddon once and he wasn’t that interesting (except when everyone danced), I don’t need to fight him again.
Anyways, welcome to Gw2.
There’s nothing interesting in Asuras blowing up yet another invention. ITs status quo for them.
Also, there was no claim about fighting Abaddon.
http://mists.cadimus.net
So you’re saying you want a recount?
http://mists.cadimus.net
Btw dont know whow the world is evolving if every time i go a zone i see the same events going on and on and on and….
Never fall for the marketing.
http://mists.cadimus.net
Sorry to tell you, but because Abaddon was attached to Evon, you’re never going to hear the end of it.
http://mists.cadimus.net
The inquest were harnessing dragon energies in efforts to create super soldiers or augment their own capabilities. See: Crucible of Eternity
More Inquest. Fantastic….
http://mists.cadimus.net
the majority of the community obviously didn’t play the original guild wars and are all bandwagoners who think the 2 in GW2 is just a dragon
Or they arleady know what happens in whit abbandon and now want some new lore that is as quoted by devs stongly attached to gw2 lore.
There’s nothing new about Thurnova. Its a power plant that blew up. The end.
http://mists.cadimus.net
Bragging rights maybe? No, otherwise.
http://mists.cadimus.net
I agree with the OP. This is a combined Legendary. The amount of time and patience to get just one is monumental. They should change the skin to reflect the significance of the weapon.
http://mists.cadimus.net
OP you won’t win this fight. Its a very old one.
If you want, just go in to complete the achievement and ignore the fights. I’m sure the WvW crowd will hate you but so what, its not your fault.
http://mists.cadimus.net
I rate the ones mentioned and add one: Twilight > Fused Greatsword > Volcanus… LOL!!
That’s nice. But legendaries are not worth the effort.
Volcanus is a nice amount of effort for the aesthetic value. Congrats OP.

Skipping Stones Puzzle – Southeast of the Lion Point Waypoint. Go around the the rock wall to the south and head for the Geysers.
Under New Management Puzzle – Pearl Islet Waypoint. Climb to the top of the building the Consortium NPC’s are in.
Finally, a decent human being. Thank You!

Human

no boost
No clue why anyone would boost through this and overshoot the platforms.

So much Felicia Day hate. Ironically, she’s actually one of the better VAs.
http://mists.cadimus.net
Maybe we should start a thread in Players Helping Players with a list of suggestions on how to meet folks.
That would be preferably better than sitting around accusing players being antisocial.
http://mists.cadimus.net
Try the cliff behind Dwayna’s Temple in Malchior’s Leap where the Vista is. Second. there’s a cliff in east Kessex Hills where strawberries grow and diving goggles. Those two seem like the highest that I remember seeing.
http://mists.cadimus.net
Giants are a near extinct race in the game AFAIK. Most of them are going to be found in Orr as undead. Anywhere else, they’re going to be veteran/champion bosses. Like Kol in the highlands and the guy in Ashford.
http://mists.cadimus.net
2) “Achievement” is something you achieve (doh!), not a welfare system whereby you are given stuff by rigtheous rights. So, get to work and earn it.
This sums it up. Stop crying, people, it’s not supposed to be easy.
Its not about being “easy”, “crying” or which ever flavor bait/attack of the week is. Its about having a player which prefer the main aspect of a game where being put into a situation where the rules change. This is essentially why PvP and PvE servers exist in other games. PvP isn’t pushed into PvE and vice versa. Blizzard will never push you into battlegrounds for map completion. That goes for a number of other MMO companies. They pride in making sure everyone is happy with the aspect of the game that players are aligned with.
Pushing users into situations that they do not care for is a recipe for disaster. PvP players do not like PvE and ditto for PvE players. You just don’t do that.
http://mists.cadimus.net
Its easy to understand once you get past the lengthy explanation.
Here’s a simple example:
username+keyword@email.com
Which would look like this if my email was “dandruff@gmail.com”:
dandruff+arenanet@gmail.com
Or
dandruff-arenanet@yahoo.com
Because Yahoo uses a (-) instead of (+).
Hope this helps.
http://mists.cadimus.net
So why doesn’t ArenaNet have any control or see these things. Again…aren’t they tied to an account…to an email? Does hacking figure into it too?
Yep. Just like the gold spammers. Some accounts are hacked and used for purposes like that until they’re banned or recovered.
http://mists.cadimus.net
Anyone arguing that capping challenging PvE content at 5 players is a good idea is short sighted.
It’s not about gear, it’s about epic, meaningful challenges. This is an area where GW2 is lacking.
Regardless, GW2 doesn’t need “Raids” in the traditional sense. They can up the count to 8 players like in GW1 and implement more elaborate scenarios.
http://mists.cadimus.net
There’s an icon at the bottom of the mail window with an exclamation point. You can use that to report gold selling mail.
http://mists.cadimus.net
I find that salvaging everything will rob you of money.
Sell the grey, white and blue items if you don’t need the materials. Green items, only salvage if you want the enhancement. Yellow, sell on the TP if you don’t need it or use in the Mystic Forge. Otherwise sell it to a vendor if its not TP profitable. Salvage items are good for salvaging. There are plenty of gathering points on the map and goodie bags that drop from enemies that you don’t really need to salvage everything you get.
http://mists.cadimus.net
They’re desperate! Keep up the reports.
http://mists.cadimus.net
I don’t think they’re going to add in raids in the traditional sense. They’ll probably add in scenarios that require 8 players instead of 5 like the old GW.
Not sure what “*Character progression from 33 to 80” means.
I know for sure that they’re going to add in Polymock eventually. We could possibly see new zones since many places on the map are labeled, like Crystal Desert or Henge of Denravi.
- I’d like to see an armory style website just to see what style of armor people are wearing.
- Perhaps a player to player trade option in the Black Lion window.
- Reduction in Waypoint costs based on location. (At the moment 3 feet from a waypoint costs a silver+.)
- Indication when someone is in the map view.
- Indication when someone takes a waypoint.
- More weapons to use like a scythe or polearm.
- Access to dungeon zones like the Underworld and Fissure of Woe again.

I still cannot get comfortable with the idea of using air from a compressor.
I don’t remember anybody mentioning air compressors, only canned air and small vacuum cleaners.
The guy on page one mentioned an air compressor.
Canned air is fine if you follow the directions on the side. I’ve used the stuff for years without any so called cold/moisture damage. And I didn’t need to swap cans.
http://mists.cadimus.net
At the moment, travelling Waypoints is instant. There’s no warning or indication that it was used. When someone uses a way point their character just disappears from the world. It wold be nice to see people get beamed away so that its not mistaken for a log off.
http://mists.cadimus.net
I’ve seen this on every item I’ve crafted so far.
