Personally I hope the maps are more like core and a lot less like HoT. I’d prefer maps that are not dense in annoying trash mobs (at least Anet toned that down a bit in the HoT revamp, but pocket raptors, blah), and are not in my opinion, map wide jump puzzles. However, they mentioned the word puzzle several times during the announcement especially when discussing the use of mounts so I’m a bit concerned that full map exploration will be more like HoT. Many people stated they really like the Hot style maps. So maybe PoF maps will be a bit of a compromise and a hybrid of HoT and core. I’ll wait until the open beta to have a look before I consider purchasing.

“Annoying Trash mobs”
So you reather want blant and weak trash mobs like vanilla did alright. I prefer enemies with atleast some sort of variety.
“map wide jump puzzles”
Alright let’s have another flat and boring maps again like Lake Doric, Vanilla etc.
HoT atleast gave some variety and I wish people would atleast try instead of blaming Anet like they usually do.

Besides that the events can be a bit repetitive has the new map great potential.
But those trains… It’s sad that the maps get abused by those chestfarming which makes the gameplay incredible boring (even worse than the champtrains). I hope you’ll fix this

World 2 was a mess. The levels were very long and punishing; while world 1 levels were straightforward to complete in 10 minutes or so, world 2-3 could easily take hours. It also featured the hardest jumping puzzles in the game as roadblocks, sparse checkpoints between instant death traps, and so forth.

Git gud. The thing is that almost everyone who only wants to farm or lack on skills are complaining about this cause of laggs or for just being a bad world. I can understand why there isn’t any challenging content anymore outside SAB. I played it over 50 hours long and found some minor buggs, that’s all. The people who were frustated went to the forum and complained for points which weren’t even the problems(wow what a surprise).

World 1 for me was okay. World 2 was amazing it was long sure but the design, music and ideas were really really good. Zone 3 was in my opinion a masterpiece. I guess it’s cause i like to play jumping games which are challenging.

I mean.. this boss battle was better than any other. The music, design(graphic and animation) and plot fit so well together. Especially the atmosphere.
To be honest. This was scary! Fighting alone a big dragon in a cage where this big thing tries to eat you or.. hunt. I mean.. wow. Zhaitan is nothing compared to this.

When it comes to atmosphere and gameplay you improved so much that’s amazing.

You must be joking right? There is nothing you can do in PVE except grinding for cosmetics.

That’s true but the thing is that this kind of grind is kinda new, challenging and has a bit variety. If they make the other maps with different modes it would be fine.

The problem are the other things like trains and dungeongrind. Those things are repetitive and old.

Stopped there. You are hanging in there to much. Personal Story is improved and isn’t grindy. You do this once or get the achiements once and that’s it. The new area whatever has new to offer and how can’t it be not grindy otherwise it would be more empty? Atleast they did something new which fits to the variety.

The achievements are good but the rewards lack so hard. I mean come make it more rewarding you can’t do each achiv. multiple times.

The rewards – AP towards permanent account wide boosts are too good. The AP is the only reason to do the tedious and annoying achievements. I would rather the game didn’t offer large carrots on a stick to induce me to play tedious and annoying content. That especially goes for the daily chores to earn AP and laurels.

Like a rat in a laboratory experiment we press a lever 100 times and a lump of cheese drops and the Devs seem to think we must enjoy it because we keep doing it.

That’s for you. Annoying? It’s some challange and wouldn’t call this annoying. People who mostly call things annoying don’t have any skills to beat this. Achievements are atleast different. You do it once and tada, ITS DONE. The achievements are atleast different compared to other stuff in gw2 which is grind because you do same things multiple times, achievements otherwise are different. Don’t say achievements are grindy, that’s really weird to hear.

If this has already been posted i won’t care because it should show how important this is.

Getting achievements with rewards for story instances is in my opinion a fantastic idea. The problem is that the dialogues and cutscenes take so long and you can’t skip them. It can be difficult to make it skipable i know but can you just make a mode for those instances where dialogues and scenes will be shortend? I mean it’s incredible annoying if I lose a task for an achievement at the end(!) and have to do the same thing all over again.

I want Kasmeer and Marjory gone. I think their characters are uninteresting.

That leaves with Taimi (with Scruffy), Rox (with Frostbite) and Braham. Now throw in Lord Faren instead of Kasmeer and Marjory, and maybe a completely new character, and I’m all good.

As i said you improve. Your strong was always the environment but an area which looks like a canyon which fights the jungle inside. Absolutely gorgeous. Even the Living/Personal Story.. they are more interesting and fun compared to the basic personal story which needs a redesign in my opinion.

First Impressions

The new star indicator is nice, but people are still asking how to start the event. I’m not sure how to make it more clearly for people.

Anet should’ve just added another waypoint at Tangle Root. It’s not fun having to run there, and a little annoying seeing map chat full of lost people asking where to go every 10 seconds.

Get rid of the mini-event blocking the entrance. I’m not sure if it was there before, but having a non-consequential gated event is just dumb, especially when this content is going to be old in the future.

The Seraph Outpost story was pretty fun, and a nice introduction. The rewards were baffling though, since we have no idea what they are used for. They should’ve been rewarded until after we know what they’re used for.

Okay, Dry Top.. interesting, but seriously? A jumping puzzle right at the start? Such a turn-off and disappointment. I don’t like jumping puzzles that much, but i also don’t hate them either, but there are some people that hate them and this will just frustrate them, even though for me personally, it’s easy. I just think it’s bad design to start it off with one.

A very short one and you dont have to do the big one. Seriously .. i love JPs and let us have the fun. You can do other things.. many other things

Personal Story is finally fun and good map

Love the new machanics in the map. This gives the game a bit more variety and this game needs a lot. The personal story has still some lame enemies and sometimes not good placed animation but the atmosphere, new mystery enviroment and characters i care about… awesome!

Last year, the Pavillion awarded far too much loot (because it coincided with the introduction of champion loot bags). This was a BAD THING, because it caused severe inflation in the game economy.
ArenaNet is currently preventing that from happening again by regulating the loot from the Pavillion’s frequently-spawning champions.

Last year, the Pavillion champions were most efficiently defeated with a single massive group of players that took down the bosses one at a time, and never had to pause in between. This is a BAD THING, because killing the same series of pushover bosses over and over again with 150 players at once was not challenging, and gave out too many rewards. It actually discouraged play skill.
ArenaNet is currently preventing that from happening again by encouraging players to split up during the Boss Blitz. Yes, a single zerg will spend 30 minutes killing all bosses one at a time. If players split up, the event can be won in a shorter time (because the bosses don’t scale up as far), and the reward will be bigger. In other words, it rewards smart play rather than follow-the-other-lemmings.

So in short, the REAL PROBLEM was last year’s event for being too easy and too generous.

the real problem is this years event doesnt compete with most other means of playing the game in terms of reasons to do it, however it is a lot more difficult and risky in order to get less actual results.

lets take a look at marrionette, it also had very few drops from enemies, but, you got exp, you drops which allowed you to open chests which usually had rares and special chances for special recipes, the further you got, the more guanteed look you got at the end. for spending 15-30 minutes, you got rares, loot, chances at special items. If you beat the full event, you got much better loot for that same time frame, and more chances to open more chests.

the reward design encouraged winning, and at the same time encouraged participation, the minimal reward wasnt horrible, and the maximum reward was pretty good.

this time the minimal reward is a loss, the maximum reward appears to be 2 champion bags and some greens. thats pretty bad for 20-30 minutes of organized gameplay where the minimal reward is a loss.

its essentially a problem with reward structures. Reward structure is a major part of designing a game, you cant divorce the two.

I wouldn’t really call it organized if it takes 20-30min with only 1 zerg. If 6 groups participate, it’ll take only more than 5min with gold, which is acctually fair. So the crown pavillion rewards the players if they play organized.

However, even if you get gold, the rewards arent really worth the work it takes to coordinate 6 teams.

Not even a day passed and i already see complaints…

Well it’s alright in my opinion, if someone wants to give some solid suggestions… just do it, i like them to read and like to see the views of other players.
But these nowadays are cheap like “It’s boring”, “You ruined it”… because… of what? The only reason is that the rewards have been nerfed or in my opinion “changed”. I don’t have much time but i already enjoy everything again. I’ll do the events, crystalhunts, minigames … in the bazaar of the four winds a bit later. Furthermore I’ll do the crown pavillion first and it’s now better for me.

I only liked, the arena in the first time because i disliked zerging. The arena had only some issues which has been removed which is awesome (It shows the time, npc who revives, no repair costs). Without those little improvements nothing really changed which is a little disappointing for me because i would like to have more bosses… but that’s my view.

Now we go the zergpart …oh boy… i like it. I dislike zerging but for its sort it’s now much better cause bosses are now designed for zergs. They have aoe with a big radius and many different skills which focuses all instead one. Don’t tell me the bosses have been better before, those are a big improvements for zergs all in all. In my opinion they just take to long. I don’t know how it’s when people split in smaller groups. Maybe it’s getting much better than a big zerg. If it’s true the rewards would be solid then (chance to drop rare things too).

I really like this patch and somehow I’m really wondering why so many of you dislike it? It would be nice to see your opinion

HOLY… kitten i was never a fan of Jeremy Soule and disliked the combatmusic. After he left Arena Net, GW2 got some new music and i liked them even more (SAB, bazaar, Elevator, …) but this new music in LA woa…. Wonderful really fits to the sad atmosphere..

Funny… SAB 2 was much more creative, more designed and acoustically better. I loved it and was for me the best update ever. Some people didnt enjoy that but many others did. On my side i dont enjoy other contents like the invasion, first and second halloween and the updates early 2013.

People who are saying that sab 2 was bad have no clue. They dont even give some points or statements. It must be pain for the developers who spent more creativity and time in SAB2 and having bad feedback in the forum.

In some point i can understand why others didnt like it. It was to….
…challanging
…long
…less rewards
and didnt come like nowhere.

Personally i loved it but some other updates … not. I hate people saying that the devs should leave SAB und do other updates. Other people have other opinions and it isnt the majority. Many people who play sometimes gw2 or dont visit the forum, enjoy it as much as i do.

I actually like the Three-headed Great Jungle Wurm but he is a bit to strong in my opinion. Anyway i love that the Twisted Marionette has its own theme. Somehow it makes it unique and new fightingmusic is always nice. It’s design is cool and the zerging is actually well made. But there are so many buggs. Most people can’t use their skills anymore. And yes they tried to weaponsswitch it doesnt work. If you want to relogg you get kicked which is pretty evil. I hope this get fixed somehow in an alternative way..

Ps: I like that the new characters fight against her .. and i have to admit that those characters are pretty nice. Good Job

The living story started bad but it’s getting better and better. It has different tastes and some complain if they don’t like the type, poor Anet. I hope they keep doing this. I had rly much fun with living the story since Bazaar.

Revamp the maps - show the creativity

Through the living story i learned that arenanet is very creativity. The fights in the arena, Tequatl, SAB, bazaar and more. They made so much fun until they get removed..

Anyway the skill points, events and especially the hearts are getting boring after some time and are in my opinion the biggest problem in gw2. In Kessex Hills i was interested with my new Character to these new events and revamped hearts… The events are good, funny champion are edited and the treasure is a good idea. But the hearts… Example: You have to get a medicine for other people and you have to do this:
- Ask the leader for medicine
- Find some people
- Press F and WAIT 5 second for ?
This isn’t any fun or creative. Waiting so many seconds for nothing? I mean these are pretty boring and Arenanet have some pretty good events and hearts. Wouldn’t be it better to have different medicine which are featured and scattered in the town with a colour and you have to bring them to the people who owns this colour. It would be easy to program it and it’s simple. But it’s much more fun than some other things. I hope it get revamped so i have fun to leveling new characters. And btw: Orr is a cool idea… no hearts but you have the temples which make the maps different from the others which makes fun.

I hope Arenanet is giving more love to them.

The problem is that alot of people dont tell the truth about why they got kicked. Let’s say you join a party that says berserker only\ melee’ing all bosses and you do not meet those requirements and join anyway. They have the rights to kick you out whenever they want , since you didnt read the Lfg and wasted the time of those people.
Or some people simply get kicked because they are always laying on the ground but they will never tell it on the forums. Kicking at the end with no reason deserves a bann in my opinion but if you dont meet the requirements of the lfg post or constantly dieing , I think its perfectly fine to kick you out.

Well I don’t play bad. I die sometimes as full dmg, but i do a good job. See whatever you want. If they require things which i don’t have i dont join the group. And why should i lie? It’s anonym here… you condemn me that i don’t listen to them.

That’s pretty offensive what you say. Even if i play “bad” … using me until the end so an other one could replace me. You really sound like one out of my group.. Fun…

Hey, hey, hey wait…
There are some issues with Guildwars2 (which is normal for an mmorpg) but is still a great game. Everything can be fixed but sometimes it’s really hard. And the hardest one is the community.

Don’t take it wrong. Guild Wars 2 had the best community ever. I played often 2 games from 2012-2013 which were LoL and Gw2. And trust me… there is a huge gap between those. Anyway i play GW2 for 1 year and i have to admit… the community is turning to be bad. Some will probably say it’s normal or something…. but no… it was so good at the begin and it went every month worse.

I guess nobody has the patience to teach a newbie things in a dungeongroup. In the begin it was fine.. nobody was kicked for being a ranger/thief or having under 3k AP. When the group search tool arrived everyone could do faster dungeon / finding a group. Many people want to clear as fast as they can. Some guys don’t even think and just let guardians and warriors in. <- I don’t understand this meta. In my opinion every class is useful. These listed classes are easier too learn… in my opinion ofcourse.

One example: I got kicked in the end of a fractal boss so a guild member of them could replace my place. Sure i couldn’t ask them why they did this because the group chat will be deleted. They were in the same guild… i guess that’s the answer.

For what is this thread? Saying Arenanet should fix this or something?
No… dont get me wrong. I just want to say my view of this situation so some others could share or saying their opinion and show them Arenanet. Also i can’t understand why the groupchat gets removed. Do they think i would insult them or something? It wouldn’t pay off anything and i get reported. I want to have reasons why the group did this. It makes me sometimes a bit angryof if you get kicked in the end with no reason…

Edit: Ouch… My English isn’t the best anyway… Had some nice people after this. I asked how i could look to the groupchat and told this to them. They offerd me a place in fractal or tried to help. There are still so many friendly players here but the amount of the others is getting more.

I almost never complain to Arenanet. The community has many tastes and some people often complain even if the update is good cause it’s not on their tastes. Anyway i have to admit that some changes are pretty…. argh. No one can understand this and even Arenanet itself can (feels like that).

Anyway I’m a huge fan of Southsun Survival and played right after release 200-300 games. Yea this is pretty much. It’s nearly perfection. It’s so much fun this minigame, sometimes i just logged in for playing this game. After a break i played this minigame this week… and their are some changes(?)…

The one is that you start direct with the others and get rooted after 5 sec… ?
Their is no point in this, everyone is killing themselves and their is no tactic/reflection needed. Before you had to know what you should pick or not and just leave. This is just “dumb”.

The second one is that you can’t drop the items from the enemies…? Seriously? I don’t want to flame but i played so many games to know how much this effects ( in a bad way). Now just go instant to the south for resources and go camping. Arrows, swords, … are now useless. Before if you had weapons you had to search the others. Hunt them down for stealing their resources. This is survival instinct and gives a perfect balance.

I think some people will call this thread pointless and just an opinion… But this makes it just boring when you only have 1-2 tactics to do it.

I’m not complaining. It IS exactly what I wanted.

It’s just that whenever something new is released, it’s usually different factions of players complaining. When they’re happy, they don’t speak up, but when something is wrong, that’s when the screaming starts.

It’s also why forums seem to be relentless pits of negativity, because happy or content customers usually don’t say anything.

I want to upvote this comment more. Finally someone who argues right and doesn’t complain with no real reason…

It’s pretty fun tho. You have different ways and awesome designed. Only the boss lacks a bit but that’s ok. I guess watergameplay is in general hated. See for example “zelda: lake temple in mm”.

You dont have to craft them. They are just minimal stronger and you will feel 0 difference. Srsly why are so many people kittening about this? Their is nothing wrong about it.

If the topic already exist, i’ll delete it.
My question is what is your list from best to worst fractals?

Some people will call this topic pointless in some way and i can understand but whatever. I’m interested in other opinions and i never heard which fractals was hated or loved except dredge. Nobody likes dredge. Anyway here is the list of the fractals:
