Well I am a guardian, and everyone says the same thing to me. Just run berzerker, cleric, or soldier. I have tried all 3, along with other various builds and honestly I have not found one I liked better then going full out vit, toughness.
When I went with max power I did not even notice much difference in damage, same with a crit/hammer/gs build. It was only slightly more, and not worth it when I die so quickly.
So far my favorite thing has been having ridiculous HP and Armor and basically being “the hot gates” for my team lol. Its much more enjoyable for me to last entire battles or boss fights while taking minimal damage then putting out a few hundred extra dps just to die.
The only build that allows me such privileges is the sentinel armor sets. Just disappointed its so much harder to attain than other paths.
Why is this Insignia so hard to attain? Every other Insignia of its class has a crafting recipe attached to it, and although the ingredients are not that easy to come by, its still much easier than the Sentinel.
These are sold for 80 silver (easily attainable), and 10 guild accommodations (not easy, slow). Not to mention I need 6 of them, so all in all I need 60 GA.. we ran guild missions tonight and I managed to attain 3 GA.
I checked the market and they are selling for 10g a piece. This seems totally bogus.
Well I guess that makes sense then haha. I just came back after a year break, and I thought all jobs had ascended quality crafting, but I guess its not implimented yet.
So I was doing some surfing and I seen many speculations on what might happen with level 500 jeweler, such as ascended jewels and visual modifications, which would be sweet.
Anyways so I got to thinking, what would a chef be able to do? Any thoughts?
I have found level 500 crafting guides for almost every category but not Jeweler, does anyone know if or where one might exist?
Also, is there a benefit to even being a level 500 jeweler. My guild has multiple 400s.. but no one above that. Starting to wonder if theres a reason for that.
Does a full vitality, or full toughness build hold any value? I know I wont be winning any dps races, but surely being a giant meat shield/wall has its perks?
So right now I am a level 18 guardian. I have a level 90 armorsmith. So I prepared some level 20 armor with condition damage. I also used my level 90 jeweler to great all jewels for condition damage also. Now the problem is I read condition dmg isn’t very good because fire is easily removed. So..my question is straight up bar none what is the best stat to put on your armor weapons and jewels for gurdian? I don’t need full guides or anything..just the stat haha..

I played during release, and had a level 80 Sylvari Ranger. I had 100% completion and what not, but now a couple of my friends want to play the game so I am back after quite a long break (about a year) and starting a new character. I just have a couple questions about some things that were kind of pet peeves for me before.
1. Have they created an inventory for all crafting items yet? Something that bugged me was constantly having to take up my bags or bank space with tons of logs, rocks, gems, ect.. They had a great inventory space for cooking items.. but not the other stuff.
2. Is there “Party” quest progression. Before it seemed nearly pointless to party with your friends.. as contribution was still separate. There was really no benefit to being in a party.. i hope this has changed.
Well the American servers are a mess lol.
For whatever reason they think I am just after 100%, which yes I would not mind getting my star, but I have been in WvW every night for the past 2 weeks helping out, glad to know how quickly your server will turn on you if you dont go with their flow lol.
I am having no problems in dungeons. I read they have a bad rap, but I dont see why, I have never been kicked, or complained at with any party.
I run a Axe/Torch build using Precision/Toughness/Condition Damage. I use Healing Spring to heal, as well as dual drake pets. I prefer River and Marsh, as their F2 skills are the most superior. However, a Reef Drake does have benefits as well.
I rarely go down, and if we do wipe I am typically the last one standing. Every bounce with axes has its own chance to proc, and with high precision I am getting crits quite often. So I am keeping decent stacks of bleed on them, and I always have a fire skill up to keep them dots going.
Drakes tail whip will combine with your water, fire, or any other aoes on the ground. I keep the speed and regen signets on myself. my active skill is sharpening stone just to add extra bleed damage with bouncing axes.
Not to mention when you are traited into Toughness you get a lot of Endurance so dodging is never much of a problem.
I am sure there are other builds, but I am a mean aoe machine all the way around. AoE auto attacks, AoE dots, AoE pets, AoE healing… I am well accepted in dungeons.
Oh yeah one last thing: I have Entangle as my ultimate. Its amazing in dungeons. If the monsters are already focused on someone, they will not attack the roots. One of my favorite things is to pull them all into a corner and root them down lol. Its also great for tagging mobs in large events too, as well as WvW zergs. I got 40 badges of honor the other night from one big battle.

Can we get some axe upgrades please, currently there is only one upgrade and that is 10% to critical damage. I would really love additional bounces. Like Axe bounces 2 additional times when traited.
I would enjoy this much more then the current system. Every friday the server match ups should randomize. Winning team gets 2 points, second place gets 1 points, last gets 0 points. At the end of the year we see which server has the most points.
Dont throw out “uneven matches” because we already have a ton of that going on. Who knows, maybe a low rank server will see a high tier in action and pick up some tactics themselves.
Would love to see some epic upsets as well. This is just my thought.
How do the high tier servers win their weekly WvW match ups? I am currently on a pretty low ranking server, that has typically lost every match up. Just recently we started to catch some fire, but I mostly feel that is due to the fact that we got paired against other low ranked servers lol.
This is how they are currently doing it: All three servers hold their own battle grounds, no one really steps foot in anyone elses, except maybe to take a small camp or something. They just fight over EB all day and night. However, my server lately has been owning nearly all of EB as well.
I suggested we move to another battle ground, and my server went into an up roar, even calling me a troll and telling everyone to ban me. I was like seriously.. we are currently in the lead, lets roll their battle grounds and make it that much easier.
I guess my real question is: Is it better to just sit in EB holding the majority, or is it better to take over other BG as well, what do high tier servers do?
I think it would of been much more appealing if they used the airship to “dissect” him, leading up to a final boss fight on the ground.
Meaning: you fly around on the airship shooting cannons to disable his wings, once he clings to the tower, you would use the super cannon on board to blast off his tail.
At this point Zaitain cries for help and several of the dragons flying in the sky come to his rescue and attack the ship. At this point there is no hope of the ship making it out.. so you set it on a collision course with Zaitain.
Using the convinient asuran jet packs or golems on board, your whole crew jumps off the ship in the nick of time to see a dragon infested mega ship ram dead on into Zaitain, where he plummets into the abyss.
But wait whats this, in all the wreckage he managed to hang onto the cliff, beaten and bruised he crawls back out of the giant hole, where your party and Destiny’s Edge at first looks on in despair as they wonder what can kill this beast.
Here your character finally shines as the champion he is, rallies everyone to one final assult, to believe in the power of ones self. You engage the mighty elder dragon one last time in a final effort to drive him into the abyss.
After an intense battle, it flips to a cut scene where you see your whole party, and all of destinys edge combining their powers into one final blow to finally sink the dragon into the black hole it crawled out of.

Was anyone else a bit underwhelmed with the final boss. I kept thinking to myself, I cant wait until we blast him out of the sky so that we can land in his lair and fight beside Destiny and slay him with our own blades.
Instead we never get off that stupid ship.. its all cannon fire and no dodging, no moving.. nothing…
I hope future elder dragons are fought much differently.
Hey Darkhaven.. can we move north and take out HoD already. Its been none stop focus on GoM all week. They are in third place.. Have not seen them take anything in our map, hardly holding their own.
I have asked in game dozens of times.. no one seems interested in taking over the HoD map.. although everytime I am on HoD in second place and stealing our map and EB. Lets hit their homelands already.
Plus.. I want my POIs lol.
I honestly did not care for any of the areas that had fire themes to them. My favorite were the snow areas, followed by the human starting zones.
I would not mind seeing an area designed around crystals or air!
This is driving me crazy. I am sitting at 96% world completion and I just cant get my WvW points in the enemy maps. I log in a various times and there never seems to be any players around to help take the 6 building points that I need.
I really wish there was an easier way to get these points that did not involved magically being on at the perfect time when there is finally a group to help you.
Even if there is a group on.. sometimes those more difficult forts just never get taken. Anyone else have this problem?

The game was released on Aug 28th.. Barley making the game available for 6 months. How did you play and still take a 6 month break lol?
Pet Evolution – Your pet has roamed with you since day one. How come it still looks like it did as a juvenile and still has the same stats and personality of a child.
Gw1 has a pet evolution system..why was it not transferred over and improved upon?
Just to do a small correction to the above guy regarding drake pets missing their F2. This is why I recommended River/Marsh Drake. The only time their ultimate misses is when the monster dies. They shoot out several beam blasts that bounce between targets. (Similar to chain frost from dota)
However, Ice/Fire drake will miss quite often. They stand there and channel a constant fire/ice beam that typically misses because the monsters never just stand there. Its short ranged, and requires channeling. Will do impressive damage if its, but rarely does.
If you run a drake pet, choose marsh or river. I have not got a reef drake yet so I cant comment.
i have two signets on, but I never activate them. The passive effects outweigh the triggered effects.
Well I am not an expert, I have mostly just played PvE but I am level 80.
I really do not enjoy the sword dagger combo, I believe that was more set up for single target dps, better suited for PvP. I would ditch that.
Short bow is nice if you can manage to stay behind the target and build up dots. Again though, until you unlock piercing arrows its going to be a single target weapon.
I have found that Axe/Torch/Warhorn is a great combination for PvE. As axe bounces to multiple targets. Use the Torch if you want additional fire dot damage, or use the warhorn if you fancy power/crit buffs. Or simple equip both and alternate weapons.
Find yourself a drake pet, the best are Marsh Drake, and River drake as their F2 skills put out massive aoe damage, and also bounce between several monsters. Not to mention the fix for their AoE tail spin is rather nice as well.
Combining Axe with Drake you can easily demolish packs of mobs in very little time. Its great for “tagging” monsters in large events too, expect lots of shiny loot on the ground after events are over, as you will be hitting dozens of mobs while others are single targeting everything.
The great thing about Axe build is you can pretty much put your traits anywhere you want too, if you want to push out raw damage, stack dots, be a tank, have a good pet. I do recommend building signets though, the passive effects are nice.
1. Spirits – These things just need reworked. Honestly spirits should work like a secondary pet accept always in passive mode. You summon them, they freely roam within a certain range of the ranger, and are set to run from damage. (With the exception of the level 30 attacking ultimate spirit)
2. Need Axe Love – Need some traits that give additonal bounces, or effects to equipping an axe. 10% bonus damage is just weak sauce.
3. Any Pet – We should not be restricted to the same 5-6 pets just reskinned. We should be able to tame any non-veteran plus monster/animal to our resume. You can set it up so you can only have 4 different pets stowed at a time or something. So choose wisely.
Lastly: This is a option rather then a class change. I really wish there was an option that allowed you to auto cast AoE spells on your tab target. Yes i know there is ground targetting and blah blah but thats not what I mean.
I wish I could turn on an option, that if I have an enemy targeted and cast an AoE spell, the spell is auto cast on that target with the targeted monster being the center of the aoe.
I would totally use a trap build if I didnt have to aoe spam them all the time.
Anyone else disappointed there is no physical pet evolution in gw2? They paid so much detail to everything in this game graphics wise, except evolution of pets.
You recruit your pets in a juvenile state. They are small, weak, and feeble. By the time you reach 80 together your pet should be a scarred up hulking beast warrior haha.

Interested in what kind of other options players with they had in their menus. Personally for me its simple. I wish there was an option to always turn on clickable names.
Such as nodes, weapons, treasure chests, ect. Yes you can hold down your control key, or wedge a paper in there to hold it down. The main problem with that is you can no longer click tab to target monsters lol.
I just want the option for their names to always be visible, like we have with npc, and other characters.
I was really looking forward to these areas, no more heart quests, end game content, lots of events, nice loot drops. It all sounds good on paper. The main problem is this entire area is designed for group play.
I dont know how it is on other servers, but I am on Dark Haven and these areas are virtually dead. I cant complete any events because either they are champion monsters, or the respawn rates are so fast I cant keep them down.
I spam for help way points for help, but there’s never a response. I think of this as a design flaw, they intended this area to be a constant power struggle between players and environment.
That sounds awesome, but as I said, the absence of players makes this well… boring.

How does that work for dungeons like CoF, that can be blocked. What if their server has the dungeon unlocked, and my server does not?

Really, because I tried it with 4 different groups all ready. We can never seem to get past the burrow mounds rush. We focus everything on the burrows, but still get over run every single time at around 80%.
Yeah I took a look at that site, but the problem is it does not have an open for server. So the people who post for groups on that site, I have no idea what server they are in or anything.
Personally I love down scaling in the open world, but I hate it in the dungeons. Maybe not everyone would agree, but I would really like it if dungeons did not down scale you at all.
Ascalon Catacombs – Mobs & Bosses = Level 35, which boosted stats of course.
I run that dungeon at level 35, I get owned. I run that dungeon at level 80, I get owned.
I hate that, when I am in the dungeons that is the one place I want to feel over powered. As far as armor and weapons, well screw that. Reset the armors and what not to a level 35, if you like the look.. use a transformation stone.
So I read they will never add a dungeon finder per say, just make improvements on how to find dungeon parties.. whatever that means.
Anyone else have trouble finding groups. In my case in particular.. I still have to do half the dungeons in story mode. No one in the area ever seems to be running dungeons let alone story.
I want to complete them and see what happens, but I am left just sitting there spamming LFG for hours with no response..
Love the concept in the open world… I hate it in dungeons lol. To me dungeons just seems difficult no matter what level you are, and honestly I really dont like that.
It makes PUGs almost impossible. 90% of the time I fill up a group and they end up quitting by the first boss, annoying.
Thoughts… on down scaling not “your a noob if you cant handle dungeons”
So I started playing guild wars when it was first released. I reached level 73, tried to log in one day to find my account hacked. Contacted support, they eventually got my account back.
However, I had lost everything, all my weapons, armor, gear, crafting mats, all sold to the auction house and my gold given away. I gave up for some time being kitten off and all.
A few days ago I picked the game back up, tried a couple other classes but eventually decided I did not want to do everything I had done all over again. So I managed to get some lower level weak gear and weapons, and it was enough to finish out some zones and hit level 80.
I started two new crafting jobs, and have steadily been hitting every tree and mine that I come across.
However, I just tried to run and dungeon and we got wrecked. Of course my party suggested that I get better gear before attempting anymore dungeon runs. That was actually my plan lol, run dungeons to get better gear.
So at this point I am wondering, what can I do to make some money. All of the level 80 gear around seems to cost quite a bit of gold that I clearly dont have.
As a fresh level 80 with no gold, insufficient crafting mats and level, and inability to run dungeons. What can I do to make money, and start beefing up my character?
Number 1 reason.. Iv been gaming for years.. I have arthritis in my fingers because of it. 15 minutes of playing with a Keyboard and mouse.. and im in a lot of pain. Controllers give me a good comfort level for a few hours.
Are you kidding.. when I played with my ranger I dominated PvE, PvP, and WvW… the movement and combat controls are flawless and 1000 times better then mouse and keyboard.
The problem I am running into with the Ele is there is a fair amount of more skills.. seeing as there is 4 F keys instead of 1.. and theres a lot of AoE.. which I will admit is more difficult to handle because I cant figure out how to properly adjust the mouse targetting with the right joystick.
Other wise is flawless. I was just hoping someone else out there has figured it out.
Anyone out there have a good xpadder layout for elementalist. I adjusted my ranger one slightly and its semi working for now. However, there is a just a couple things that seem to not function ideally.
So I was hoping someone out there has made a good layout that functions perfectly for an elementalist? I did some google searching but nothing really came up.
I stopped playing a few months ago because of real life issues. I am back.. started a fresh toon. I would just like a dungeon break down of which dungeons are nice to run. When I played before AC was horribly unbalanced.
However, I seen a recent video that was claiming AC was a cake walk and the perfect opening dungeon. So I am assuming things have been balanced more often.
Can anyone give me a heads up dungeon by dungeon. Like:
Ancient Catacombs – Good balance, nice rewards, fairly easy.
Cautacus Manor – Unbalanced, too easy.. no rewards.
Ect…
Honestly, I just want a guild that has tons of players that is fully established. I seen one guild spamming who had 400 members, but they were Australian.
I would love a huge guild like that, but I live in the USA.

Does anyone know if there is a way to get your serial number for your game resent to your email? I repurchased and once I activated my game I deleted the email thinking I would never need it again.
Then a few weeks ago my account was hacked. Support helped me get it back, and then I changed my passwords, however I forgot my password since I had to make it something totally different lol.
So once again I had to contact support because in order to do a password reset, you need your serial key. Well support helped me out again, and I can log in just fine and player, but now I am sitting here thinking it would be a good idea to have my key again since issues like this keep happening.
I threw it in at the bottom of my last support ticket, but there was no answer given. I hate to open up another support ticket just to ask that, if there is an easy way? So does anyone know how I can get my serial key resent to my email?
Longbow seems more like a glitch rather then needing a buff. Axes on the other hand need some love.
Please give us a trait that increases the number of bounces to at least 5. Also remove the 3rd frost skill and just make it a proc chance on our auto attack. Give us a good 3rd skill.
Something like: Power Axe – Throw the axe with such force it knocks back all targets directly in front of you 600 range. Knocks down if hit from the front, dazed if hit from behind.
Where are they, I would like to see whats changed?
