I’m toying with the idea of coming back to GW2. I mained a mesmer and remember being annoyed before in WvW with how slow the class was with such little access to speed buffs. Has this been changed or is mesmer still the slowest class?

So it appears that TTS and other guilds rose to the challenge. Teq is now farm able content for any and all who wish to do so. The only issue I see is that guilds are not allowed to spawn their own copies of a map. I can understand making all maps accessible to everyone. However I still believe that maybe Commanders should be able to spawn their own copy of a map and bring their “squad” with them automatically, before the zone fills up with other players as normal.

Maguuma was one of my favorite places, in fact the favorite place I had in prophecies besides the Crystal Desert with those cool giants. Also love that you brought back the mending springs! I am actually at the first skill point now!

I hadn’t got there yet at the time of my previous post. However yes I did and yes I was excited lol. Really good stuff there. I’m disappointed that the “Maguuma like” area was so small. However I will trust that ANET will take us deeper into the jungles during this season. Since I brought up giants in my previous post, I’ll add on that adding a giant that drops dragonite ore and is on a reasonable timer was just what I needed without knowing it is what I wanted lol. I have officially parked my ranger at his spawn for random killing lol. Dragonite ore is such a pain to get when you are trying to ascend eight 80s smh. Anyway thanks for the giant ANET. If you could give us a few more of them that would be great thank you ;-)

The info from the release I read by Colin has me EXTREMELY excited. The biggest issue I had with Living Story was that it seemed to be a return to the forced gaming treadmill, which I came to GW2 to avoid. All I have to do is log in once every two weeks and I get access to all the content forever? AWESOME! Exactly the fix that was needed. I’ll gladly buy a session if I miss one, as if I couldn’t log in for two weeks likely I made enough money to buy it lol. I’m happy with it all around. Kudos for listening once again ANET. It would be awesome to play the original Molten dungeon again whenever I want also, so please do try to add that stuff back in but if not possible at least it is fixed for the future.
Remember when they buffed the celestial ascended trinket stats by like, 25%? Maybe they’ll do it again. Give them time.
This is the sort of thing I am looking for at this point. I understand the need to change crit as a stat, just throw us a bone…

Actually this is precisely the proper place to complain. I will continue to be a squeaky wheel on this as it is game breaking for me. If you wish for this to stop you can either attempt to ignore me or petition ANET to fix the problem. Thank you for your concern.
I’m very happy with the Origins of Madness update as well as with the Wurm addition. I have yet to kill the Wurm but I stand behind challenging content. I’m totally done with the Origins of Madness update at this point, though I know I hear in overflows people complaining about not having got a kill on Marionette yet. On a side note I would of liked to see the Shatterer updated Teq style prior to a whole new boss, but whatever I’ll trust that change is still in the pipeline. Anyway I just wanted this to be a good job and thank you post. Well done and keep them coming!
I am another one of those people that spent a lot of time and gold building celestial ascended gear sets across multiple characters. I am extremely unhappy. This is unacceptable. Something needs to be done, first thing comes to mind is a celestial stat buff. To be clear the critical damage change coming up adversely affects celestial gear in a huge way. Much bigger than any other part of the game and much more costly to the time and gold of the player base.
I agree 100% with the OP………….and so we begin…..pay to win…….
As a 33 year old GW1 and WOW alumni, with a job and a life, I am pretty happy with GW2 progression as it now stands. In particular I feel that vertical progression should be limited to fractals and guild progression. I mean this is GUILD WARS! I think there is a TON of room for guild progression out there and that way you wouldn’t hurt all the casuals who came to this game to be casuals not treadmill gamerholics (speaking as a person who has been both). The horizontal progression has been in my opinion moderately successful so far. The Aetharblade dungeons and the Molten Alliance dungeon were awesome. I had a great time with the Four Winds Bazaar as well. Let’s do more of that. I can’t wait for the Shatterer and the Jormag lieutenant to get updated like Teqautl. Keep that coming imo.
As far as fractals I think you created a wonderful engine through which you can keep hardcore gamers engaged and it’s being a bit underutilized as such. More “Fractured” type updates at least once maybe twice a year. More shinies that ONLY drop in high end fractals. If I could look at someones gear and see their fractal tier based on exclusive drops I think you would have a very good treadmill in a game that doesn’t kitten casuals. To many people including myself, a person fully decked in fractal weapons is obviously gaming at a certain skill level. That can be built on as you bring fractal levels up and release new gear and difficult content. The best part about it is you managed to create a treadmill without seriously impacting the rest of the game.
Let me throw out some wild ideas here so back to guild progression. With Tequatl you proved you can give us real raid content in the living world. Allow a guild a way to gain raid encounters. Allow guilds a way to access exclusive territories in the Edge of the Mist, sounds like a good place to put guild halls? Allow them to place defeated bosses around their halls to defend them. The Edge of the Mist could become a place of actual Guild Wars.I really think that by striking a balance between horizontal character progression, guild vertical progression, and fractal vertical progression using agony, difficulty, and exclusive cosmetics we can have the best game ever here. I am perfectly happy with ascended gear as a tier and the difficulty of attaining it. Same goes for agony resist.
A few fixes I would like to see. Where is our underwater head gear!?!?! Let jewelcrafting hit 500 and gain the ability to restat all these rings and any other ascended gear to the stats we want. Throw in crafting jewel breathing systems for our underwater headgear and we’re good.

As far as commander gating goes I think it’s a bad idea. I think having your commander tag be account wide is a good idea. The solution to troll commanders is to simply provide more tools in quickly seeing what a particular commander is about. One way would be a sort of up voting system where somehow simply by looking at a tag people can tell the size of a squad and how many guildies of the commander are present. This would make trolls rather obvious.
I love the idea of commander created events. To add to it perhaps we can have complex requirements in them. Like a commander can create an event to take down a gate without tagging the door and creating swords on the map for the enemy.
I also really like the idea of commanders being able to access a special chat that appears yellow across the squads screen.

So with the announcement that wxp is going account bound and the new achievements I have come back in to WvW. For you experienced types out there I am wondering what the best class for farming bags zerg vs zerg is. I am thinking engineer with grenades but if I am wrong please do tell. I have one of each class and am looking to decide which I will decide to trait just for WvW.

An idea I just thought of reading this FAQ. Why not design the overflow system for EOTM in such a way as to force multi server involvement. An example of this would be to cap how many can populate a server from a single world down by half or a third….maybe a fourth or fifth even of the actual population cap? Yes I do think allowing the worlds fighting in EOTM to be random when it comes to which servers are participating and random as far as the number of servers participating up to a reasonable point will be a very exciting and cool thing. Especially since it’s not going to affect anything I say let it be a rampage/free for all situation.

I don’t really care about my WvW title I care that every time I go in to WvW on an alt I am effectively devaluing my main. Guild Wars has never been a franchise about locking you into one character and I’ve always appreciated that. Even if all WXP was given in the form of consumables which I could pass to my main later, that would be preferable to the irritation I feel every time I notice the WXP skill points on my warrior….
I feel this is much different from the time gating of gear and crafting materials. This game is designed (with good reason I believe) to allow seamless character swapping and alting in a lot of situations in PVE. You can even do so in structured PVP! WVW is the only place where you are punished for using an alt to do something. I was mapping on my warrior and then saw I’d earned some wxp. It kitten ed me off because I need those points on my mesmer! So I stopped playing WVW for awhile. Now with these achievements I wanted to start back. I played my mesmer there all day yesterday. Today I would rather play my ele a bit, but I can’t, instead I’ll have to play my mesmer again all day :-( Separating titles is fine but not resources….. Even if the account wide wxp was a resource that you used up when you applied it to your character so that you had to earn more if you wanted to apply points on an alt that would be fine.
I hate not being able to play anything but my main in WvW. I actually quit WvW all together for awhile because if this. Now that I’ve decided to do the achievements I am feeling all the rage and frustration of being stuck on my main all day again. Just feels like a huge waste of time if I earn wxp on an alt though :-(
I have five 80s and plan to have one of each class. It would be much more fun to be able to alt about and cheat on my main without giving up progression.

Just now logging in, however from all the QQ you guys did a great job with Tequatl. Wait a week before a nerf please let’s see what the player base can do with some real content.

Time gating sucks and kills new player interest in the game. It is a way to lock in your existing players and suffer a slow death from attrition.
New players hate time gated gear because it means there is no way they can catch up. They hit max level, they give the old “college try” at grinding Laurels, Crafting, whatever for a couple of weeks then stop logging in.
The mistake as I see it was to do this with ascended gear. Max stat gear should not be time gated what so ever. It would be different if this were a cosmetic set like a legendary armor but for max stat it’s a mistake.
Swap: change places with target enemy (maybe put in a 1sec immobilize).
skill turns into swap back: change places with target enemy again.
<< just don’t jump of a cliff when u switch back now>>
Shatter boon/condition dealing dmg to nearby enemies.
An elite phantasm would be nice! Maybe the doppelganger idea fits this category. Summoning 1 (or 2) clone(s) that mimics everything the caster does.

OMG it would be sooo much fun to use in castle defense lmao! Hit some poor sap in the middle, maybe even their commander if lucky….ANET better NOT give such a skill to this mesmer I might never leave WvW!
My biggest issue with my mesmer. If we had a 25% run speed increase signet like other classes it would be a total non issue…here’s hoping. Hell necro have signet AND spectral walk it make me so jealous. Here’s hoping they bring back Illusion of Haste with our new skills. That and signet is something we deserve at this point for having a speed buff that has been even useless at times thus far.

Would need to cancel all fields and summons currently active. Would have great synergy with Moa Morph, without being OP as you both get blacked out. Maybe let you both keep your auto attack however.
I really like them both playing with duration, radius, and recharge on the 2nd one would maybe give us a viable and mesmer like aoe. The Doppelganger would be great in pvp.
A huge run speed buff please and thank you! I am soooo tired of being the slowest class in the game. Maybe even one of those handy 25% run speed signets like most other classes have. Also maybe a spectral walk like ability with a mechanic reminiscent of Illusion of Haste (what a great name!) in GW1 where we get cripple and add in vulnerable at the end of it but we can pop distortion to evade the debuff if we time it right. Maybe give us both please and as utility skills not on a weapon.
AOE um and yes more AOE please. I love my class and mesmer is my main but in the big team fights I would love to have an easier time getting tags off. WvW makes me feel a bit kitten when some of the other classes are talking about their loot bag drops.
Oh and I second the Shatter Delusions revival it was great in GW1 and it WILL be great in GW2!

One thing about this: Please don’t make both possibilities (gaining whatever achievement for supporting Evon and supporting Kiel) available at the same time (either one cancels the other, or there is a “voter” achievement).
I don’t want to vote for Kiel but the completionist on me and many others will be torn if there are achievements to complete for both sides!

I was already assuming I would end up supporting both for completion, although I have been having fun supporting Gnash here on the forums. Be nice to only need to support one in game.
Furthermore the way Lionguard has been behaving lately I wouldn’t trust the numbers… I believe there is a huge chance that this election will be stolen by Magnus and Kiel in the name of the Lionguard.

Could Ellen Khiel be using the mail system to her advantage in the coming election? Is your own private mail history being used to manipulate you for your votes?!?!?! Is Khiel actually concerned with our security or is she really concerned with spreading her power influence and tyranny beyond the Lionguard to encompass the entire citizenry of Lions Arch? Do we dare risk allowing her the levers of power?

I love this! Had to log in to tell you so. Of course I disagree as I am a big fan of Commodore Mariner. Not so sure I would back the filthy humans in aggression towards LA if I was you. LA is the kind of place where a respectable Char can let his fur down, and we will fight to defend it mouse.
I sooo love it! I have owned too many scrubs who thought to focus on which of me to stomp instead of that phanstasm. Also saved me a few times in pvp, if I can get him out AND have #2 active it is game over.
I too am looking forward to crafting a celestial backpiece…in fact when I get the purple back piece skin out of this update I am saving it just FOR a celestial stat backpiece as I have the book of secrets for my zerk set.

Well at first I hated it and was unhappy with the whole temp content idea I really was. Then I saw the Wooden Potatoes vid on the subject and I became a believer.
Temp content is a great idea and its good for the bottom line at ANET and I actually did like Flame and Frost, and I am having fun in the Bazaar of the Four Winds this month. However that does not change the need for permanent content updates. Before launch we were told that the devs had the desire to make the world feel epic. Epic is not Captain Ellen Kiel. Epic were Gwen and Prince Rurik. Epic was Koss and Norgu, the Master of Whispers and Kormir. I hated the Stone Summit for killing Rurik. Koss was one of my best buds and helping to ascend one of the Gods is awesome. Mai Trin could be epic as could Kasmeer Meade, Captain Magnus, Braham, and Rox. I actually can’t wait to help Rox join the Rytlock warband that has EPIC written all over it! Maybe with work we could become invested in Ellen as well. However we need permanent content with compelling stories for these things to happen. These stories can be added as part of the fortnight updates but it needs to stick around and be built on for people to become invested.
The GW1 version of raids UW, FOW, DOA, URGOZ were epic. Not that we need a ton of these but one or two of these types of extra long extra large party dungeon experiences are epic. World bosses could possibly fill some of the need to be honest my system can’t handle the zergs so I don’t know. However what I do know is they are old and I played the BETA when you had Eir and Rytlock running around and us fighting Kralkatorrik minions on random maps that was AWESOME! Give us some of that as temp content, epic events. FOTM is amazing I think it was a genius way of marginalizing and containing the elitist grinding min/max urge in a lot of us old time gamers. However in order for it to work it needs to be updated fairly regularly. Not as often as the Living Story updates by far but at least quarterly we need to have a higher tier unlocked and an added fractal or two. Maybe with an adjusted rng system to show us the new content more often than the old as we progress. I do believe FOTM could take the place of raids in other games if done right. You gave us a gear treadmill, but not really, add in a small amount of gear progression now and then like the fractal weapons that only FOTM farmers can get and we will be happy. You gave us progression content, but not really, up the T6 mats and cores from the chest every few levels and we will be happy brushing our shoulders and saying we are at the new FOTM cap already. You gave us an elitist playground without really shutting anyone out. Pure GENIUS awesome job, but it has to be kept up and loved on or we will lose interest. I am not the gamer I used to be, I simply can’t play multiple hours daily anymore. However even I am working on farming FOTM 48 on my 2nd character. People are working the system to progress beyond the 50 cap which to me is a sure sign that a workable system is falling apart.
Anyway kudos ANET I hear you are listening and you WILL be adding in some perma content as well as all the temp stuff and I am happy. Or I will be as long as I get to see some new fractals, zones, world bosses, and stories added in to show a truly growing world now and then. Meh who am I kidding? I won’t go anywhere even if you totally screw up the game lol, but I do like to actually win my GW2 is the best MMO ever arguments with the wifey and friends haha. Again your Living Story idea is AWESOME.

Just add in that Flame and Frost map and one other then up the cap to 60…You can even add in that last month ship dungeon for all I care….FOTM is supposed to be our elitist progression time sync lets get going!!
I like that the loot bags spawn at your feet instead of having to actually loot the person’s body. However, they are very difficult to notice, and I find myself spamming FFFFFFFFFFF in addition to my abilities. Even THEN… I will be dead or about to leave the area and notice that I missed a bag or two.
Things to help:
1)Make badges currency that automatically gets awarded instead of looted.
2)Make looting an AoE with a large range. Like press F once and loot all bags within a 1200 foot area.
3)And if Anet wants to go balls out…after implementing #2 above, make it so that you can loot the bags until you WP back.
Looks like they gave us #2. It helps definitely but I would still prefer an auto looting system. If its never gonna happen then I soooo need to see #1 get implemented. Collecting badges has been the most difficult part of my Gift of Mastery for my legendary… Not to mention when I am not even thinking about badges the loot bags on the ground system totally destroys my immersion as I go OCD frantic looking for the bags that I know I have missed, and when I find one or two that makes it even worse going crazy looking for more that are likely not there. Plus auto loot is the only fix for when you’re lying on the ground dead looking at your loot wondering if you can run back in time, or even survive the run back to a now enemy location.
Seems a shame to lose them forever especially the amazing ones like the Molten Core Facility. I wouldn’t want Fractal updates to be limited just to them either but it seems like a good idea to float around. We are past due for a Fractals update.
