Sorry just getting back from weekend. Is the build Harper posted good for leveling?
(edited by Paladin Jeff.9210)
Two more questions is the 4/5/0/5/0 with the skills good for solo? What changes would you make in skills for solo?
Returning from long break and thinking about making a warrior. How well are they at end level and dungeons? I mainly play pve is why I ask. What is a good way to level without crafting? Are there any guides available post April patch? What’s the meta currently? Thanks for any help.
Could this build be used for leveling a new Ranger? Also what rotation do you normally use?
Should be fine for levelling, though I wouldn’t put points into Nature Magic.
Rotation is basically to auto attack with sword as much as possible. You’ll want to fit in WH#5 within a fire field if possible.
Example opener: Equip Torch. Torch 5. Equip Warhorn. Warhorn 5. Swap. GS3, GS2. Swap. Sword 1 until dead. ( Blast Fire Field, enter fight with GS, auto with sword)
Is there a quick way to switch torch and warhorn?

I can throw you a guide later today (1:50 am atm).
The temporary advice is to run a pet either Cat or Bear (whether you prefer more damage at the cost of pet danger or the other way round) and stick to GS. You’ll definitely want to go for Sick’Em and Signet of the Hunt.
These will give you the clear and roam potential you need.
Also keep a Longbow in your pocket for dangerous encounters – you don’t wanna get sexually misused on melee cleaves.
I’ve seen alot of support for forest spirit and sword as well. For traits what should I go for? Seems melee is the way to go for Ranger.
Took a long break and want to roll a new ranger for pve and solo. I only seldom pvp. I was wondering if anyone had advice, build for leveling, or even better a guide. Thanks for help.
Any advice? I’m open to any suggestions.
I’m coming back and decided I wanted to play a thief. For leveling is the s/p and shortbow still viable with this trait layout?
25/30/0/0/15 for traits. DA 3+6, CS 1+3+11, Trickery 5.
I haven’t played around with the new trait system. I prefer pve and solo but would like to be useful in groups as well. Thanks for any help.
Question, why use medkit over the healing elixer?
Any other advice is welcomed and sincerely thank you for help.
Build to level to 80 or opinions on the one linked. Thanks for help.
Yea sorry about that.
Hi, I made a leveling build to try out Engi, looking at bombs then going grenades. I focus on pve mainly solo. I’d love opinions and advice.

Edited to add link to build since OP was tired and forgot it…

Hi I’m thinking of rolling a warrior. I tend to solo pve, maybe will get into dungeons later. I put this together after hearing signets are one of the best ways to level. Opinions or advice welcomed.
Found a guide by GooseChronicles on youtube. Opinions?
Thanks for opinions, one last question are there any good leveling guides for thief?
Is there a guide to leveling bomb kits?
Hmm good point any good guides or builds out there?
Hello, just returning to Guild Wars 2 and kinda like the idea of thief. I like to solo pve mainly so was wondering what a leveling experience as a thief would be. Also looking for any and all advice thanks.
Hello, I want to play a Necro. I heard Minion Master is a good way to level after 60 I plan to go Conditionmancer. I tend to solo pve but may group some. I put this together and want opinions. Thanks everyone.

Hello just came back to GW2 and looking for a Engineering leveling build, I would like condition based as I like kiting with DoT. I understand Grenades are the way to go for it but was wondering if there was a good leveling guide or build for it.
Considering an engineer and was curious on if there was a leveling build that was preferred? I mainly pve, solo and team.
Since my searchkittenis weak I’m asking best way to level warrior. I have read alittle that a signet build but which traits to focus on and which weapons? I should say I am looking for pve and solo small teams normally.

Hello I just rolled a new guardian and was wanting opinions on what I’m going to build towards. Going for a solo/pve build until I find guild. Use the traditional AH 0/0/30/20/20. Any advice welcomed.

After some playing I’m finding I’m much more comfortable with the shortbow for positioning and kiting. I platy solo so the added CC is useful as well.
I’m still trying both and seeing which works better for me.
I take it you prefer longbow over shortbow then? I’m still testing both out to see which I like better.
“The Signet DD505 (WvW, Dungeons, PvE)
Weapons – Shortbow/Greatsword or Longbow/Greatsword
Marksmanship – Signet Mastery, Piercing Arrows, Signet of the Beastmaster
Skirmishing – Sharpened Edges, Quick Draw, Moment of Clarity
Utilities – Signet of Stone, Signet of the Hunt, Signet of the Wild, Rampage As One
Pet: Any
This is my favorite setup because of it’s simplicity and I think this represents the entire philosophy of the DD505. It has movement, a defensive cooldown, and an offensive cooldown. It only lacks a stun breaker in which case you’d want to consider removing your defensive cooldown (SoS) or your offensive cooldown (SotW). I mix and match the signets quite often depending on the situation. In dungeons, I give up SotH since mobility isn’t as important there."
My question with this when is the best time to switch to GS from bow? When enemy closes in or is there times when you rather use GS? Great guide though.
Hello I took a leveling build from Mr. Prometheus’s comprehensive mesmer guide and would like opinions. This is a pve build focusing on condition damage from me and illusions. My main weapon is staff with sword focus as secondary.

Big changes are I didn’t take the shatter improvements instead taking empowered illusions and compounding power. Any opinions are welcomed on improvements. As for equipment is condition damage, precision, and vitality for soloing.
Hey after reading I decided to try a leveling build for warrior. This will be mainly pve and solo at first. Any advice welcomed.

Edit: The build would help :p

Great guide using your build as a base made a few trait changes, mainly dropping the mind rack traits in favor of increasing their damage and giving me 3% more damage per illusion. My reason for that is honestly I don’t shatter often instead I use my clones to build conditions then use my iwarlock for extra damage.
Was curious about you opinion on the dodge clone trait, also thinking of picking it up Signet of illusion instead of blink my thinking even one or two more shots could be good for stacking condition damage. I’m using your leveling build as a basis for heavy condition with staff and keeping sword/focus as back up.

I have alot of fun after using this guide.
Just rolled a mesmer, only level 6 so far but having at blast. The inspiration signet rocks. Oh one question for leveling which stats besides power do you recommend I look for. Power is obviously most important, and I’m guessing precision?

15/30/0/25/0 has both higher damage and more durability than 20/30/0/20/0. The Deadly Arts Master tier major traits are all pretty bad, while the 25 pointers in both Deadly Arts and Acrobatics are excellent. It’s more or less a strictly better trait lay-out.
So something like this?

This is the build I’m planning on using so far, focusing on crits and kiting with pistols for single target and short bow for groups. Advice not only appreciated but requested.
One more small change to my build. Signet of shadows instead of needle pit and assassins retreat for first skill of acro trait line
(edited by Paladin Jeff.9210)
Made a couple changes. Went with 20/30/0/20/0 for higher damage.

Also what do you think of my PvE build? =)
have to copy paste text link doesnt work
Hmm interesting. The shortbow with poisons will make for good condition damage.
Mainly pve, should have posted that. I’ll be going power and crit.
Any advice on build will be welcomed, or have I found the perfect build?
I have been playing a melee style but curious if MM style using pets alot would be better for pve. My current is this.
Credit for build goes to takarazuka.
I made this build for a thief and was wondering what the community thought and advice that could be used to make it better. The idea is keep at range using pistols for single targets and short bow for groups. So advice suggestions?

I want to make a LB/SB ranger. Naturally I know I want anything that will keep enemy from catching me. I need advice on which skills will help with that and which traits are good for it. Thanks for any help.
