Wouldn’t disabling the firewall be dangerous for my computer?
Here is the results as requested.

Yes. As said before, the recent one took 57 seconds. After the 57 seconds, the skill fired off.
I have this problem where I get huge lag spikes wherever I am in the game. The most recent one, I was in the Sylvari tutorial, and I had a lag spike that lasted 57 seconds long. I can move, but can’t use skills or talk to people. This happens wherever I am, regardless of the amount of people there. I also can’t use items, add traits etc.
At first I thought it was my computer, which wasn’t good anyway. I got a new one that can run this game on Max settings, and it works wonderfully. However I’m still getting these huge lag spikes which is very annoying, and it sometimes happens in combat. This annoys me further when I am in PvP.
I am unsure what the problem is. Can anyone help?
I think basically what’s happened is that we’ve been waiting excitingly for this game for quite some time, and everybody was doing their favorite thing for hours and hours. Now they are bored of it.
And BTW, I wouldn’t recommend joining a random team. Random teams get crushed against pre-made teams, and some don’t even communicate.
So I originally thought this idea was good, but a few days after it came out it has just been annoying me.
So when I first authorized it it told me my city (which was correct) and I clicked “Remember” and continued. However, the next time I log in, it comes up with waiting for authorization every time, and I have to do the same steps every time, even though I am clicking the “remember” box.
It’s also worrying as a few times it’s told me I’m in a completely different location (one of which was halfway across the country). This has happened 2 or 3 times which is quite worrying as someone from that location could easily hack into my account.
So this email Authorization is happening every time and it’s quite fustrating having to head onto my emails every time to play the game.
Any help?
Thanks.
EDIT: I also have to do email Authorization every time I come on the forums as well, which annoys me further.
^^ Pre-made teams will still play free tournaments you know.
And, I agree with the OP.
Instead of taking a screenshot, complaining on the forums, you could, you know, group up and fight them?
I go for a condition/crit/trap builds. It’s pretty successful. Stacking about 20 bleeds is very fun.
when on every tournament the 95 % of the class are those 3 we have a problem
I think you need to play more tournament, because that sentance is completely wrong.
How can you find hot join fun, in it’s present state?
About 6 people stand on one capture point at the start of the game for a small glory. That leads to the other team capping more points. How fun.
How fustrating when a team just zergs with 5+ against one player on a capture point, then they all stay to capture that point. How fun.
I honestly did try to join a free tourney in a random roster, and have avoided that option ever since. I joined a group and NOBODY communicated, despite me talking in chat several times.
I’d rather them fix other major things out rather than add something that only a small percentage of the player base will use.
Rangers are a pet class.
If you don’t like it, play a different class.
Few points:
- Moa is overpowered.
- That guy wasn’t naked. He was wearing his PvP amulet, and his weapons. That gives you approximately 50% of your most beneficial stats.
- That guardian was bad.
Pretty much this.
I avoid this map whenever possible.
The main problem is the sharks. Too many, too much damage. A tanky class can just sit on the ruins, 3 enemies attack, and the tanky class will win. Just get rid of the sharks. Problem solved.
Another problem is not being able to stomp underwater. A player can just swim to the top and, by some miracle, become invunerable.
How to counter hundred blade warriors and heartseeker theives in a defensive position as a conditionmancer
in PvP

I also have a solution to counter 100blades and heartseeker, and it works across all classes!
Use dodge.
Agreed with one of the posters above… you need to learn to play.
Someone said 15 “ridiculous” things to kill.
Firstly, memser clones. They do crap damage, and have crap health. Any class who’s traited for burst can kill it in 1-3 hits.
Secondly, Necro Pets. Half the time they don’t attack, and easily get killed by AoE. A minion traited necro without the minions is almost useless.
Thief Elite – Yeah, I don’t like this either, but seeing as how it says “thief” above their head, it’s easy to spot who the real thief is.
Yeah, it’s across all characters. But I don’t want to have to rank a character to 80 and then do it ALL over again. It’s going to take normal people a while to reach 80 anyway.
Hello to all,
I think GW2 makes the clickers life impossible. I always used to move my characters with WASD and I used the mouse to cast spells. This is not possible in GW2: you MUST move with the mouse when in combat, and sometime you need mouse and WASD! For that it is hard to cast on movement when you are not skilled or you have expansive game controllers.
What? It’s more than possible. I’m a clicker/keyboard turner and I do great, mainly in sPvP (because that’s what I do the most).
I think it’s because all the newbies go for clicking, and they are rubbish at the game anyway, so people just assume clicking is bad. I’ve even had some people say “it’s impossible to win a 1v1 as a clicker” which is absolute crap. I win the majority of my 1v1’s, in hot join and in tournaments, even when they pop their elite (lol).
I think it depends.
If someone is in the downed state – revive them. If they die in PvE or WvW then their equipement will get damaged. Also gets them right back in the fight without having to travel to a waypoint.
If someone is defeated – depends. In PvE, I’ll always revive them. In sPvP however, it’s much more easier for them to retreat, as it takes about 20 seconds to revive them when they are defeated.
Also, have a look at what enemy the downed person is attacking. Chances are, if you defeat that enemy, your ally will rally, so there would be no need to revive them.
Firstly, yes, buying or selling gold through real life is against the rules.
Secondly, I always select scamming. That’s what they’ll do, scam you.
Arenanet could make it easier and just add a “Report for Gold selling” button.
For those of you complaining about the Rangers shortbow, it only applies bleeds if the arrow hits the enemy from the side or back. You shouldn’t be letting rangers have a free shot at your back anyway.
Because everyone would roll a HS theif or a HB warrior.
Yeah, they are most likely skillless players, but if I’m constantly knocked down (bulls charge) immobilised (throw bolas) and having about 5 players all spamming HS/HB at once, I wouldn’t call that fun.
Deathmatch?
You mean everyone roll warrior and thief?
No thanks.
I’ve met literally 1 warrior that has killed my ranger. One.
No thieves yet.
Thats not the point. I don’t want to find against 2 classes all the time.
Another solution (one that I think would be more elegant and help to build team relationships) is to sum all the points players on one team earned during the match and then divide them equally to each player on the team.
No.
I don’t find it fair when I can earn 300 points, and it gets split it with someone who got 20 (a.k.a terrible player).
If this feature was in tournaments, however, I’d like it. But not on sPvP.
Deathmatch?
You mean everyone roll warrior and thief?
No thanks.
From my experience over the last couple weeks a team without a guardian is at a moderate disadvantage against one with a guardian.
What? I was in a team without a guardian, and literally every team we went against had a guardian, and we won them all.
Did you try and kill them? I tried and succeded.
Sorry, what?
I don’t understand your post.

1v3? Your opponents must be terrible.
Anyone can shout OP when they get killed by something they havn’t learned to counter.
My build has just under 16k health, and rely’s on bleeding and crit. Some people don’t get me under 75% health, and that’s because they suck.
This is how the game is played and is completely normal. You will be seeing more of it. You should learn to do it as well.
Are you saying, the solution to counter OP classes, is to play that OP class?
I agree, I think it’s overpowered. It’s basically a easy win for the mesmer. You could fight back, but the mesmer can easily kite. You could dodge, but that’s twice or three times. You’re basically a “hit me” target for 10 seconds.
When you go underwater, you get a fresh set of slot skills. You need to put the minion skills that you want in the slots while you’re underwater. If your terrestrial minion skills aren’t in your underwater slots, they go boom when you get wet.
The last time I checked (don’t play a Necro much) only blood fiend and bone fiend are able to summon underwater. The flesh golem isn’t, either, which really nerfs Minion Masters underwater.
You actually get more Glory in 8v8 by a fair margin if you manage to stack kills. It’s pretty much its only saving grace at the moment.
okay i will give you that. if you want to farm glory, you can do stuff like only play kyhlo and spam trebuchet shots into the zerg for 300 a map.
i was factoring bonus glory from reward chests, but you are right, if you really wanted to farm glory you could do it faster in 8v8.
I sometimes get 300 on anymap, depending on how well I play.
And, when I play Hot join, I want to win. Unfortnatly, the casuals don’t know how to use a school other than #1.
“LFM 1 more guardian rank 15+”
Sick of seeing that? So am I.
Point is, everybody just wants a guardian, yet other classes can fit their role just as well.
That’s because you’re playing hot join. Hot join, for the moment, is garbage.
Find a tournament group. Things get a lot better.
No. sPvP is completely seperate from WvW and PvE. If you want to level while PvPing, go play WvW.
Everybody’s complaining about the sharks but seriously, they’re there for a reason. Without them, ruins would be a darn flickerswitch. It would force the fight to there because it’s so close to all of them. Frankly, the sharks help to emphasize that:
1) Ruins is important, though uncomfortable to attack. If you leave it, you’ll feed the enemy points because you couldn’t be bothered to get over yourself. If you take it early it helps a lot.
2) If the enemy is defending ruins, they’re down a couple guys. Any team fight is in your favour because you have your full team there. Take both ground objectives and get aggressive.Frankly, the sharks aren’t that bad. I’ve had at least two matches where a decent ranger and me, guardian, took out the lot and still took the point from a defender. I can’t speak for skill but it’s entirely possible.
It’s a challenge, just like stealing the buffs in Forest of Niflhel. Rise to it and get aggressive.
The annoying thing is, if a good player is defending the ruins, that player combined with sharks can defend it from 3 players. I know, I’ve done it, as a Ranger. I take a pet shark for extra luls.
I hope it never makes it into Tournament play.
Teviko also pointed it out, the arrow on the head points the mesmer. You’ll also notice it when they go down. Their #2 ability creates a downed clone of themself, and you’ll see the real mesmer nearby, with the arrow above their head.
Wrong. Ranger.
You say they are to blame. Instead of whining on the forums, figure out how to counter them? In my experience, these 2 builds don’t seem to be very effective when they are chilled, crippled, poisoned and burning. You have a dodge button, use it.
Tell us what else you think is unbalanced.
You are either here because:
a.) Got killed by a HS spamming theif
b.) Got killed by a 100blades warrior.
Regardless, you’ll need to learn how to dodge.
Agreed. Leavers are so annoying. Arenanet could either:
Block PvP for that account (15-30 minutes)
Debuff that player for 1 hour (-80% glory earned)
That would probably stop some people from leaving.
15.
I personally find it hillarious how teams are always looking for rank 15+ and I am now starting to see requirements for rank 20+. Really? They must think rank = skill.
BTW, glory boosters don’t affect rank.
really looking forward for 5v5 spvp in the future.
That’s only if they decide to add it.
I havn’t had a warrior kill me without using hundred blades.
All I need to use is a stun breaker and they are dead.
No.
Structered PvP is completely seperate from PvE and I’d like to keep it that way.
If I’d have gotten XP for sPvP right now, I’d probably be level 80 (currently 23) which would not be fun.
Agreed. It’s stupid how people can reach the surface and suddenly become invunerable.
The Ranger downed state ‘3’ ability is also bugged. You can call your pet to you and it will heal you at a ridiculously fast pace and no longer treat your hp like you’re drowning.
I have a solution, try attacking the ranger?
Arenanet, please consider making a 5v5 hot join mode. 8v8 is just a zerg fest, and people don’t work in teams, they do whatever will get them good glory. An example:
I joined a match just before it started. The rest of my 7 teammates went straight towards the mine. I got to svanir, killed him, looked back, they still hadn’t captured it. There was one enemy guardian that took 7 people over 15 seconds to kill. My point here is, no-one was heading towards the keep, and basically, we lost the match, because they zerged.
Another thing is point capping. We only need 1 person capping the point, and I’m capping it by myself and 3 teammates come along to get the 10 glory. This may just be because the sPvP is “less intelligent” to put it nicely.
5V5 hot join will mean less zerging, because when I’m defending a point, getting zerged by 6 people is not what I call fun. You could argue that I could go PUG a tournament, but they always get smashed by pre-made teams. Some of these PUGS don’t even type in chat.
If 5v5 hot join was implemented, then it may encourage people to walk together, instead of zerging.
What are your thoughts?
Team deathmatch? God no.
In hot join, that will be absolute garbage. Everyone will go full damage.
Capture the flag, though, I could see working out. However, utility skills and weapon skills should be disallowed, as well as any form teleporting (including mesmer portals)
Instead of whining on the forums with your poor grammar, maybe you should actually improve your gameplay?
