Congratulations on completing the dungeon. My run became bugged at the penultimate stage.
I’m disappointed too.
Like many people, I can’t play the game every day. I’ve been trying to complete all the F&F events, but I am travelling around for the next two weeks. Last night was my only opportunity to play the dungeon, and a fatal bug broke the game in the penultimate section.
I understand that bugs happen in new content, and sometimes it takes a while to fix things, but it is really disappointing when the new events are available for such a short time.
It’s impossible to achieve balance. It doesn’t matter how many times the meta is adjusted, some class builds will always be overpowered.
Most PVP games address this by adding new characters, and limiting each team so that two players on the same team cannot use the same character. Everyone has played games where the most powerful characters are the initial characters, but this does not spoil gameplay because each time a new character is introduced it creates new opportunities for synergy with the existing characters.
Unfortunately GW2 cannot introduce new characters, because arenanet are committed to using the same class/skill/trait system to PVE and PVP. This is why GW2 has fallen so far behind its PVP rivals.
Which class do you play?
If you don’t already use a thief, try playing the class for a while. You’ll figure out their weaknesses.
If you’re already playing thief, and regularly winning against the odds, respect.
WvWvW welcomes you with open arms
…and invisible opponents
Personally, I can’t think of a more entertaining way of spending an evening than watching bunkers stand on bases.
Why force players to assume a different appearance in SPVP anyhow? Just let characters carry their Preferred appearance with them, wherever they go.
PVE gear could default to SPVP stats in he mists.
It’s not possible to stop people leaving games, but it is possible to alleviate the problem.
How do other games approach this? Reports, matching leavers with other leavers in future games, replacing leavers with bots, making players leaving stats visible to other players, replacing leavers with new players.
I hope Arenanet try make some progress in this area.

I’d love Arenanet to publish some real data on population but I suspect they fear it would be embarrassing. SPVP population seems pretty low. There are approx 300 people in my guild, but at any one time its rare for more than 1 – 2 of them to be in the Mists.
you need to join a pvp guild.
Theres like 7 people in my guild, its rare for 1 or 2 NOT to be in the mists.
I think that illustrates the unhealthy division that has developed between SPVP and the rest of the game. Most guilds are just guilds – their members do WVW, dungeons, exploration, jumping puzzles, PVE events and crafting, but don’t do SPVP.
There is a trade-off between making SPVP exciting for casual players and making it an esport. Arenanet are committed to the later, and therefore most GW2 players ignore SPVP. That’s why the SPVP player base is so small, and you can’t find team-mates. It is what it is.
The e-sport thing won’t be happening. First of in order to have a e-sport you need to have:
1. A large player base (you need a more casual player friendly game to achieve this)
2. Enough game balance to have a lot more valid builds and counters to them (currently game balance is a joke)
3. Spectator mode (could be added later)
4. Proper rewards (ingame rewards e.g. Black Lion Keys to open chests, and money rewards for winning tournaments)
5. Good leaderboard system (built-into the game, past and current rankings and lots of statistics, ability to view recent top tournament matches)Now all these things are missing.
I agree with most of that. Its baffling that Arenanet have ploughed on regardless.

Wini, you have my sympathy, there is not an easy solution.
Most people have an established group of friends that they built up when the game launched, or during Beta, and they don’t need new friends. People are wary of inviting strangers into groups because there are so many leavers. Often they just won’t take a risk. The flow of new players into SPVP has fallen, and those who do want to try it out often struggle to find regular team-mates.
Perhaps the new map will draw some new players into SPVP.
