Well you are not forced to do Fractals, do other stuff instead. As for ascended gear, they are only usefull in fractals, and they will add other ways to get them:
“Our intention is to deploy ascended components and gear across the whole of the game rather than focus it in one particular location” – Studio Design Director.

I run the “Triple Sword Style” mesmer build in PvE, Dungeons & Fractals
Using GS + Sword/Sword, utilites are mostly Manipulation type.

Those early bosses will also deal the previous dungeons “agony” condition.

Early bosses will not drop “agony”.

And? That is the idea that you finish one dungeon and get their “agony” resistance to use against the early bosses in the next tier of dungeon.

Its not perfect but it has good power, nice HP, nice cric. chance :P and some CC breaks

Guild Wars 2 Lead Designer Isaiah Cartwright 16 hours ago : “Everytime you kill a monster you roll on a number of tables, inside these tables are different rarity categories. Magic find increases the chances you will get higher categories. For example if there is a 1 in 10 category, and you have 200% magic find you will have 3/10 chances to get that category. This improves not just the rarity of the items you get but can also improve your chances at getting trophies and rare crafting materials like lodestones.”

My feedback so far:
- playing a lot more dungeons, mainly because of the Bag that gives you tokens, karma, gold (would love it if the token number would increase, maybe 5 instead of 3), maybe change the old dungeons, so that it does not get boring of the same old stuff
- still playing a mesmer, still loving the class
- new UI design changes, like the cleanness
- thats all for now, have to wait for the new dungeon

When it’s official what changes have been done, then we talk/discuss. You can have 1 change that can alter the whole class, so yeah, don’t jump the gun, mate.

So opening the contact tab (Z -key) and clicking the tab Looking for Group, does not work for you guys? As far as i know, it shows all players that are in the Looking For Group status near you.
