Well anyone know?
I came across that runes don’t show stats. Used them and wasn’t able to figure out if they actually give any stats. So if they do give stats any idea what they are?

Okay so when I finished my first bifrost collection put the recipe on my huntsman because its said unlocks all recipes and listed weaponsmith, huntsman, and artificer. The only part I can make is the inscription. I’m assuming that the reason for this is because I’m not an artificer. So what happened to the rest of them?
p.s. If it had only said artificer I would’ve gotten it up but as it stands I don’t have one

It is a grind. It not very long grind or a very time consuming(some to require you have some masteries) but it is a grind. It is essentially grinding those 10 levels to get max in other games when they release an xpack but the goal is different. That aside its very unlikely that anet will change it. So options are hold hope they will, get over it or play a different game.
p.s. I played eq1, I know what a grind is.

What are you even talking about? In the core game, don’t you have to level to 80 in order to go to cursed shores? So cursed shores is gated behind a grind as well, isn’kitten
Nope, you can take a low level into Cursed Shore. The boundary doesn’t require you to be level 80.
…and be one-hit by rabbits running around there. Come on, you understand, what I want to say.
There are tomes one can use to bypass leveling if you’re a vet and don’t want to grind out to level 80.
There isn’t going to be anything like that for hero points.

Since they merged ranks I’ve gotten around over 200……..

That’s barely a grind IMO. You will get all hero points in a couple of hours of NEW area exploration.
I highly doubt it. If you played any of the BWEs you will need gliding and mushroom jumping to get around the map properly, and these will take a lot more than a couple of hours to achieve.
New personal story gives you quite a bit of exp. Just do first mission on all your characters and you will already have gliding, shroom jumping and probably even updraft in a couple of minutes.
Um pretty sure it was mentioned that you need to go to other maps to unlock certain mastery tracks

Change it so its the between 84(highest amount needed for core for one traitline and skill type) and 100 points to unlock traits/skills and that they are first things unlocked. Also you can unlock it whether or not the core stuff is complete. Then I’ll be good with the amount needed to unlock everything.

Can I make a suggestion? Either make that warning more visble(change to red?) or put it at the top instead of the bottom of the mail we get.
Also they don’t have alot exp raiding or they don’t have exp raiding together.
Either give alot more people the chance to test them or invite people who have alot of exp raiding together to test it.

The problem with the people you picked is that you will get very biased opinions from a small portion everyone who will do the raid. Also they don’t have alot exp raiding or they don’t have exp raiding together.
Either give alot more people the chance to test them or invite people who have alot of exp raiding together to test it.

Alas, it was indeed a bug and needed to be fixed. A single skill that deals that much damage (from being CC’d, nonetheless) was a bit much. Sleight of hand was your best friend this last weekend in PvP.
So change that trap to the reveal one instead
They’re reducing the base healing of druid cele avatar and making healing power more effective while using it. So you can’t just run zerk and be just as effective as someone who has alot of healing power. Of course they should probably do this with every class and water fields or we will still be stuck with druid being the only healers.
The trap was bugged. It’s intended to strike enemies only once as it explodes and will be fixed.

I have a question….. What if the bosses strip profession buffs? Banners, spirits, and empower like traits?
Wouldn’t be more accurate call a duality? Healer and dps. There isn’t a real tank role because there is no way to control agro in this game. Taunt is a cc not an agro management tool.

As the juvenile form of the pet needs to be charmed, a regular ranger would not be able to get them as the juvenile form would only be available in HoT-only areas.

- Do the new pets actually require HoT and the Druid elite specialization unlocked to get them, but once gotten they can be used by non-druid rangers?
- Or is it as it came off as being – that HoT is not required to get the new pets as it was said that all rangers will have access to them?
- And if they are available to all rangers, does this possibly mean that pact Tyria will be seeing Mordrem and the juveniles of the new pets for base rangers to charm so base rangers can charm them outside of HoT-only content areas?

I saw the implementation of the dodges in the UI and thought of new GM traits. So what if we could choose 1 out of 3(+1 for standard dodge?) dodges.
1 would be increased dodge distance
2 would be leap finisher dodge
3 would be whirl finisher dodgeThe GM traits could be independent of the type of dodge, so something like
1: Gain swiftness and remove immobilizing conditions when you dodge
2: Throw out 2 daggers that do some conditions when you dodge
3: Deal damage at the end of your dodge rollThat way, we could customise our dodges more freely while still being able to pick a dodge that can be used without rolling out of Shadow Refuge.
So basically you want to take away the things that are unique about the dodges? No thank you. I wish the they weren’t traits but it seems unlikely that they will change. But in the unlikely event they do, think of ideas for grandmaster traits that don’t change the dodges.
My idea for one is: You are unable to gain stealth(should change certain stolen abilities while under the effects of this) When you dodge gain one random boon.
Physical apply boons.
Channeled Vigor- Aegis
Bandit defense- Protection
Distracting Daggers- 3 stacks of Stability
Fist Flurry- Might for each hit
Impairing Daggers- Resistance
Impact Strike- Quickness
I know alot of you will object to the no stealth part of this but I believe that reason we lack boons is because we gain so much from stealth(not interested in talking mesmer to much there).
To the op. You do realize that Sylvari are Mordremoths creations. The dragon will have influence over them, so of course they’re gonna understand him better than any other races.
I liked that that dash made dodge go farther T.T
If the dolyaks are being killed then the keep/tower isn’t replacing old stuff with new and camps aren’t getting the old stuff to repair/improve. So the camp it has to use whatever is around and would cause it to degrade.
Makes sense to me.
Shortbow 1 has the same problem and can arguably said to be worse. All projectile attacks will reveal you if its still in the air when you go into stealthed or are stealthed.
Use it manually. That should solve your problem
You can get 19k on zerk thief and about 17k on a zerk warrior(both without bloodlust) in pvp but you blow all your utilities to do it so its not worth doing.

Keep seeing “Ranger: pet won’t do anything.” Think most rangers would thank us for that.
As to the main topic. I just wish thief had skills or traits that did it as well. Mesmers would be fun to fight again.

This iteration was mostly bug fixes. I’ve seen a lot of feedback on how Escapist’s Absolution should be baseline. It is the case that we believe this trait is powerful enough that it should be a choice in the trait line between damage, survivability and utility, rather than just a given. Driven Fortitude’s healing allows for usefulness in all modes where you take damage, where EA’s condition removal is situationally useful in a combat scenario.
So because Escapist’s Absolution a good trait for wvw/pvp and almost necessary for these two game modes, that it should be choice? I really don’t understand this logic.
Should also point that Impacting Disruption wont be used in pve because thief lacks aoe cc and it wont work on champs. So with all the people who play condi in pvp(except at a high lvl)/wvw we have to choose Escapist’s Absolution.
I know you can go sa but if you do unless your condi, either you will give up on initiative for damage or you will give up on damage for initiative.
Daredevil elite skill, Impact Strike, is too slow to finish off Mesmers, Elementalists, and Thiefs using their downed skill 2s. Even with the launch from the second hit they still have enough time to escape the finish. Don’t know if this was the intent but this skill seems unnecessary with its current state considering how it leaves a Daredevil wide open to attacks. It’s much more practical to use blinds, Shadowstep, or stealth to stomp still.
I was able to catch mesmers and eles off guard not expecting the the launch, it sort of messes up there timing,
but i did have a thief port out of it, almost like mid air.
Instant skills cant be interrupted and in some cases can be done while disable like the thief port. The mesmer skill isn’t instant however if you don’t get to the 2nd hit before they use their skill then unless you get lucky you won’t be able to finish them with the skill.

To go from 1-80 you 4,860,359. To unlock one mastery track you need 16,891,000 exp. There are 4 for maguuma, 1 for pact stuff, 1 for fractals and then there’s the precursor mastery track/tacks.

Oh, I also noticed that with the pvp npcs, even though they were close to downed state but not in it, they would still get finished by the 3rd strike.

I’m fine with it as long as there lots and lots of aoes. I can see it now. -watches as someone revives using an orb. Then they get hit by an aoe and are dead again- God would be so fun to watch.
My point being you have one health, can’t dodge, and walk slow. If your using them in a raid and the raid is actually difficult, well then your gonna probably die again before your even effective.

Raiding is content. For HoT, raiding is content that comes with the expansion, just like how new dungeons and raids come with expansions for other games.
I’m not talking about Specific raids… Yes WoW had xpac specific raids but there were also others that could be done without xpacs…
Because they were released as part of the Core game… GW2’s first Raids are being released as part of the Expansion.

Tired of the best condi clear I can get coming from stealth. But if this trait isn’t minor the choices are between dying to condi, taking this trait, or taking sa. Trickery isn’t enough unless you have sa or use lyssa runes.
Why wouldn’t you have exclusive rewards for specific content? Even Tequatl has exclusive rewards, and Fractals, and Dungeons, and Dry Top, and the Silverwastes… What would be the purpose of not having exclusive rewards?
Very correct, now all they have to do is implement legendary armour, skins, minis and titles for the top tier in pvp and wvw and the game will be able to offer something for everyone …

We don’t know if they have plans to add things to WvW later or not but it would make sense if they plan to. As to the pvp they’re also adding reward tracks
While you are right that the Mai Trin fight is based around a gimmick, I’m not so sure that makes it bad. I kind of like that fight to be honest (which I know makes me a weirdo). I actually think that gimmicks can make the fight interesting and unique (Thaumanova Anomaly or Dredge Powersuit, e.g.). Gimmicks can certainly be overdone, but they aren’t all bad.
As for the Molten Bosses, I’m honestly not sure what you see in it. It isn’t a particularly interesting fight to me.
Mai Trin fight is handled all wrong. Mainly because it provides a massive problem (Mai Trin is immortal) and only a single solution. There is absolutely no reason to harm Horris and honestly Horris and Mai Trin don’t act like a team.
Horris doesn’t buff, shield or even interact with Mai at all. Mai’s immortal shield isn’t some gadget or ability Horris is using, it’s just an immortal shield.
That is why it’s gimmicky, it exists not for challenge but because it’s to easy without it. Forcing players to take damage before engaging with Mai Trin. Instead of having players fight both boss while they work together and play against their advantages.
When it was dungeon you had to beat them both. Mai Trin had the same mechanics. Horrik had the same attacks but would frenzy when she was defeated increasing attack speed and damage. They just simplified the fight when they made it a fractal. Which saddened me a bit the first time I did it. Still one of my favorite fights.
Sidenote: If you didn’t know she revives him if you go for Horrik first.

Once Pulmonary is on your target, it will ignore blind, evade, block, even range. The ways to really not take the hit will be through invulnerability, damage inversion (ala Defiant Stance), or damage reduction (protection, Endure Pain).
You could technically land a Pulmonary and if you’re quick enough, activate Basilisk Venom for an unblockable/evadeable stun when it pops… Or use your dodge with Evasive Empowerment to increase the damage.So headshot will be pretty overpowered with this trait huh?
As always, things are open to change. If this playstyle is too strong, we’ll have to adjust it. There’s a possibility that it shouldn’t stack intensity, or maybe its damage is too high, or a variety of other ways that it could be adjusted. We want it to have strong play and also feel rewarding, while not being the ‘only’ thing that you seek to do in order to deal damage. We’re looking forward to seeing how it works for you during the beta weekend.
If you do decide change it instead of removing its ability to stack or reducing its damage, limit the number of stacks. Maybe 3 which I think would be around 7k. But please don’t change it. o.o
