Pro Tip: Check GW2 Reddit at least once a day. Just read the topics and move on. You will never miss anything.
I don’t really enjoy exploring either; but I have 5 of lv 80 now. None of my character has explored more than 35% of the World.
Heck, I barely do any dungeon at all either. I should, though.
I do agree that lvling is a bit boring. Killing monsters isn’t the way in GW2. You want to focus on events instead.
Will I be able to purchase HoT for Diamonds?

There might be a Deluxe version of the expansion that you can upgrade from Regular expansion via Gems.
MAYBE !
Stop opening champ bags on a level 80 character. Get a level 75-79 character to open champ bags on. You’ll more or less have the same loot tables from the bags, except you will not get bloodstone dust if the character is not level 80.
Additionally, use storage characters if you absolutely insist on hanging onto those materials. Dragonite is something I simply drag and destroy every so often when farming SW.
This. I open all my bags with a lv 78 alt so I would get crafting materials and not these ascended materials.
Warrior, Warrior, and Warrior
Yes. My poor gaming mouse. Very sad mouse.
I’m waiting for the Priory to invent an alternative universe machine.
You can run the machine to see ‘what would it be like if the Claw Island didn’t happen’. More missions you get to run with your Mentors. The Order sends you two out on various secret orders. More good time to be had. Make it like a Fractal Dungeons or something.
They all stay.
Move everything into banks and storage.
I did the same thing awhile back. Deleted all characters for free transfer. My bank was intact.
I doubt it. Though I would like to see all retired armor sets appear in the Gem Store.
Currently I use Drybone + Tactical armors for the similar appearance.

I get them to 80, then the fun begins.
For your home instance… I can see them doing it too… Once a day for 5-8 cotton scraps or something…
Personal Story quest are singleplayer mostly. Corpse Run brings nothing to the game except frustration. Group Events mostly require group. Dungeons should be done in group. Champion Train is EXCLUDED. It’s what it is, a train. But then again, if you don’t chat with the train, then the train doesn’t chat with you. You can still bring social element to the train if you choose to.
The game is what you mostly want it to be. If you seek social element, don’t join any speed run. They are not for social.
Warriors, you lot can have less weapons !
Just give some of them to us Elementalist.
Done. Happy !?
The annoying part is that mobs are made tanky just by their HP. It is rare for mobs to have high toughness, so there is no reason to diversify and add a condi user.
It is something Nemesis originally said, and I agree with him: PVE needs to be more like PVP. Now, when Anet hears this, they decided to put the down state on PVE enemies, which was the stupidest thing they could import. There needs to be several things ported over, and these things need to all center around one thing:
Enemies have to be built to kill you.
Its that simple. So many mobs in the game are currently build around the idea of giving them a gimmick they use once or twice without any real meaning. Mobs need to have much better AI, and more things they do with it:
#1: Primarily ranged mobs should try to kite players. Nothing to elaborate, but as players approach them, the ranged mobs should walk backward, or walk sideways away from players. In game, we currently have many pulls, leaps, cripples, chills, immobilize, and stealths, and yet we don’t have much of a reason to use them. Why? Enemies just run up to your face and fight you at point blank. There’s no one to chase and no one to run from.
#2: Mobs that grant boons should not spam boons. One of the biggest issues with fighting the dredge is that, if you remove or corrupt the boon they have, they immediately reapply it to everyone in range. This is true for most mobs that use boons on themselves: there is no reason to ever remove the boon because it just comes right back. Mobs, if having boons, should always have long duration + long cooldown, so removing them matters.
#3: Unshakeable and defiant need to be reworked. First, unshakeable needs to no longer reduce vulnerability and weakness, since champions are really the only place those conditions can be effective. Second, stacks of defiant need to dissolve on their own. Maybe one stack every 2 seconds or so. That way, you can have meaningful CC, even when only one player has CC skills.
#4: Melee mobs need to be more effective at chasing players, because currently players can just kite and shoot mobs without any additional help. Enemies need to do stuff like use swiftness, use more cripples/chills, have leaps, and also use stability. Not all at once, of course, but it would be helpful.
#5: Stability needs to mean something. This is for players, mostly. Currently stability has limited access, really short durations, and long cooldowns, which makes stability nigh useless. Stability needs longer durations, since the amount of CC in the game is already disproportionate to the amount defense there is against it.
#6: Enemies need to attack more frequently, but do less damage with each individual attack. Currently, you can just loldodge nearly everything in the game because enemies have big slow attacks. If enemies had rapid but weaker attacks, then passive defenses would be more important, as well as regen and protection. Not every enemy has to be reworked, but having diversity in enemy attack patterns would be a boon.
#7: Enemies need to cleave and pierce more often. One of the reasons why stacking is so effective is because when an enemy attacks, it only hits one player in that group, which means players effectively have 5x the durability while in a stack. If enemies cleaved more often, then to stack you would still have to actively block and dodge.
#8: Enemies need to have their attack rate effected by chill.
#9: Enemies need less health, and they need to heal themselves. Nearly any enemy that is veteran rank or higher needs to have less health, but also have a self heal that is on a long cooldown. This will make timed CC more important, as well as make the healing reduction from poison important in PVE.
#10: Enemies need diversified defenses. Currently, they just have high HP and nothing else. There needs to be mobs who have high toughness, mobs who use strong protection and strong regen, making condition users more important for the team, as well as boon stripping.
After all this is put in, then PVE will be interesting. Nearly every class has something they can use to deal with all of these problems, and having players deal with these challenges will make for better players and more entertaining gameplay.
I love this post. I have seen similar problem in many other games, some RPGs, and some RTS. Many mobs are not meant to kill the players. They are just there to be killed. They are, like… I’m a big angry cave troll, I will growl at them every 9 seconds (not inflicting fears, keep taking damage during that time), then I will swing claws at every 6 seconds and then randomly change a target…
Just jump on LFG tools, and say ‘No 80, no speed-run, newcomers only.’ You will be very popular
I follow wvw commanders with 10k, I follow commanders with 6k, I also follow commanders with less than 3k. It makes no diff to me.
If ANet makes bosses in the game as complex as a player’s profession, I bet teamwork will pop up right away. And by that, I mean this…
Instead of a Boss uses attack skill once every 4-5 seconds, how about giving it 10 skills each with 0.25s – 1s cast time and with different cooldowns, and let it go nuts ? You know, like a player ? I am bloody sure players will quickly learn to play in teamwork and utilizing every game mechanics just to stay alive, or keep wiping. Instead of just DPSing the crap outta every pathetic boss.
New Quest:
Your old Priory Representative came back to visit you.
Priory Rep “Hello again Advocate, long time no seen. We have finished building a new device, and we remember how awesome you performed with those machines we made back then, so we would like you to Beta-Test this new device. We call it ‘The Multiverse Transporter’ Cool, eh ?”
You “As my grandma used to say, ‘Coool!’ What does it do ?”
Priory “Explain brief concept of multiverse theory. Anyway, get ready, I’m turning it on NOW!”
Player then gets hug Tybalt, have MORE field missions with Tybalt as Agent, before becoming Lightbringer, and Player also gets to have Apple Cider with Tybalt!
Then a few MORE field missions with Tybalt as Lightbringer.
It’s pretty much useless. There’s a graphic option that in WvW, and sPvP too I believe, will override all dye color with server’s color instead. All my team will appear Red, and you will still show up as Green, for example.
ESO didn’t excite me.
Wildstar used to excite me, until I tried its Beta. Not anymore.
EQNL still does excite me !
GW2 – It’s free, so I will waste my free time on it until I have something fun to play. Just keep remaking all classes now, cuz they are all broken. Squishiest classes remain without survivalibility. Strong classes get all the good stuff like Mobility and Condition Remover, and HP and Armor and Damage. Many classes remain unwanted without clear purpose of what they’re supposed to be good at.
Deleted all my char, including a lv 80.
Moved from US to EU.
Free.
Don’t remember Laurels or stuff.
Still had dungeon tokens.
It should take less than 15-20 mins to farm a key. Mesmer is the fastest I could pull off so far and with no difficulty even without awesome armors sets.
@Vexa, That is my point. Speed and Mobility to guardian. To me it doesn’t matter if it’s a Leap or a Tele. What I think Guardian needs is another Gap Closing, or an escape.
If it’s a Virtue, then it can’t be as good as a Trait or a Signet, because we have a Virtue for free, not replacing any Uti or Trait.
Or a button to toggle ’don’t show this in the Top 3’
BWAM!! Done.
And yes, I want this frigging button !!!
If anything make it
passive: AOE +15% permanent swiftness and 1 condition flipped / 25 seconds
But that part doesn’t make sense. If you have condition, you wouldn’t be sprinting at any speed, but slow combat speed anyway. No one is going to wait 25s for it go away, most likely it will go away by itself first, or someone remove it manually. Having spd and condition removal is just pointless.
Virtue of Persistence
Recharge: 45 seconds
Active: Leap at target, and stun it for 1 second. Distance 900.
Passive: Grant 20% Movement speed outside of combat to you and 5 allies
Discuss away.
Should all classes with any weapon set have a place in PvP ?
Staff Ele, Sword/Axe Warr, Mace/Shield Guard, etc etc ?
So, what look do you want ?
http://i245.photobucket.com/albums/gg42/Intui/random/GW2GDCCharactersWallpaper1920x1200.jpg
Something that looks even remotely as good as some of those armors would be GREAT. For both Medium and Light. The lack of diversity in the current Medium/Light is appalling.
So, light armors that look like heavy armors ?
Just trying to understand here, cuz I don’t have problem dressing up my chars.
So, upscaled char has upscaled damage from current weapons and upscaled stats from current armors ?
Warrior with Scepter ?
—> Mageknight !! Awesome.…So, a guardian?
(Sorry, I couldn’t resist. Assumably, a scepter warrior would be more offensively-oriented, making it distinct, but it still seems strange to me.)
For some weird reason, I thought you said ‘a Gundam ?’ And I was like ……. what ?
Okay Arenanet,
Simple question, what is the problem with Male Light Armor? I am genuinely curious. I’ve been playing since the Beta, at launch I did an Ele male (human) and I cannot customize his look. In a game where you emphasis the pursuit of visuals why, why on earth is this proving so difficult for your team? Is it artists? I know some concept artists that can help. I would genuinely like to know why male Light Armor is such a problem…
This issue was exacerbated recently by Ascended Armor.
Also I’ll put this clearly, I will pay money for a good armor skin. You are missing out on a monetization avenue…
So, what look do you want ?
Warrior with Scepter ?
—> Mageknight !! Awesome.
Warrior with Staff ?
—> Shaolin type ! Also awesome.
Guardian with dual Pistols ?
—> Exorcist ! Sounds badarss.
Same thing with Ranger’s Sword.
fixed ;P

Possibly SweetFX or something. I can’t get mine to look that good either. Not that I could… it lags enough in WvW.
I’m the same with you OP. Mageknight, or hybrid class is what I like most in all MMOs.
Right now I’m trying Scepter/Dagger. Since I found D/D is a bit too squishy for me. I might try D/F though.
Lightning Hammer is very good, btw.
Lightning Hammer #2, and the Flaming Axe #5 I think ?
But I love Engineer’s Rifle #5
Great for jumping puzzle. Very accurate Jump-to-Target Area.
Gloves are T3 Human armor; the Seraph. http://www.gw2armor.com/human/male/c3/heavy/display_looks.php
Boots are Phalanx as well.

Next time someone pings something, you can just ping a worthless grey item instead for laugh
Here. Clan Battles, or Battle of Clans if you like. There you go. Now, go make it.
If ANet doesn’t ban Immersive Combat, this FXAA will be just fine.
Though there’s little reason to necro a 6mo old thread, just to contradict himself.
1. More skills to each class.
2. Ability to cross-class some skills. Though some skills are class-exclusive.
3. Each weapon has 8-10 skills. Players get to decide which 5 to use. May switch around.
4. Boons and Conditions only come from Combo Fields. (have to actually either blast, or swirl or leap or something with it, not just put down the Swiftness field and ppl just run by) Each class has 2-3 field types. as well as 2-3 type of finishers.
5. Soft Holy Trinity. Some can do support or control better than others, while some can do better DPS and such. But every class should be able to do at least a bit of everything. (Boons, Condi, CC, DPS, Heal, Mobility, Range, etc.)
6. More quests for the Order you join before you become highest rank. Need more time to spend with Tybalt.
7. Less of that Sylvarian Scholar Turns General.
I can keep going, but these are my top 7
(edited by Pyrasia.9281)
Wait, I thought the question was about the girl’s armor, not the dude’s.
Could be useful when the zergs starting to crash.
Pop AED at maybe around 50% HP mark.
If you’re being targeted by zergs, you will be almost full HP within 4secs.
AMR says it recharges all heal skills at 25% HP mark.
What other skills does it recharges too ?
So, less Healing Turret Engineers running around after the 10th then ? Guess we bring less Water field now. Might carry Elixer Gun sometimes if I want AoE Regen.
Just curious;
Does “Autodefense Bomb Dispenser” —-—— Drop a smoke bomb whenever you are disabled (stun, daze, knockdown, knockback, launch, float, sink, or fear).————- work with Rifle#4 ? The one that you knockback both you and target ?
1. Why do you have issues with naming your characters ? It won’t let you name what you want ? What names do you want then ? Are they taken ? Or are they against naming policy ?
2. WSAD Movement is the way many many many games work. Usually, that ‘s the case if you play with First Person View, or Third Person View. Think Doom, Mass Effect, World of Warcraft and such. You can look more into getting a console controller for it though, if you like.
Diablo series is Hack n Slash, and the perspective is almost 2.5D Isometric, and so it uses different movement method. I highly recommend you get used to WSAD, because that’s how many many more games going to be like.
What I usually do is to; hold down Right Mouse Button all the time when ever I’m moving, move mouse left and right to turn, and simply use ‘W’ to go forward. ‘A’ and ‘D’ should be used for Strafing, and not for turning. Then you’re set.
I know many people who use QWE, instead of WSAD. Walking backward is very slow, and many times can get you killed. So many prefer to only turn and run, instead of walking back. And so, Q and E are turning, while W is still forward. You can use S for dodging back instead.
There are many ways to customize the key binds. Good luck with it !!
Mesmer was kind of hard to level at low level. By the time you hit 50, it should be much easier now. But yeah, expect 1 level an hour. Do world events. Complete all dailies. Join WvW at the right time will help a lot as well. Like, joining zergs to flip SM. Just don’t stand at the frontline.
