I kick any Vanilla Rangers (Literally Free Bags), and if I “have” to make room ill kick any power/condi druids first, and then any useless thieves keeping the healing druids.
LB Ranger is so pointless with all the mace/shield guards, Aura Eles, WoRs, the Rev Wall thing.
Why? cause they came to be team player. If you wanna stand back and PEW PEW play hammer Rev

i find it funny people are complaining about the ques being to high, and then i realize this people are prob the people on a stacked server, SBI has like 10 ques on each map while i hear BG, Mag, BG as some points were in the 50s
i guess buying all those guilds backfired now didnt it?
As far as development goes. I suspect it’s management that holds up development more than the actual productive effort. Like a long chain of approval slows things down in that respect. Speculation is useless, but it did take a long time in my opinion.
nightcapping is hardly a major issue anymore every timezone is worth the same now, no one timezone can open a 50k over a coarse of a night

In terms of points I don’t think people care about nightcapping with the current system. It’s still an issue with respect to your “population” problem since it means enemy structures get fully upgraded and start bleeding into other time-zones as an advantage.
then get rid of auto upgrade, im on SBI last week we own our ebg keep for maybe 5 hours out of the week its was t3 everytime I logged into to play. I think the system is fine. I’m tired of people convincing Anet score is the main problem when reality people leave cause balance is wack
I agree, points definitely aren’t the main problem.
In my opinion it would work like this:
First of all people need to have fun in the gamemode. They need to enjoy playing it. That’s where the actual basic skill balance, population balance, aformentioned upgrade balance etc fits in.
Then, once people enjoy playing the gamemode and want to take it a step further, this is where scoring kicks in. It caters to the competitive nature of humans and causes people to invest more time in order to achieve victory and makes them really passionate and caring about their gamemode.
This is where you have to take into account the impact of nightcapping, the importance of primetime, ppt vs ppk, etc.
And lastly as the cherry on top you have to reward people for what they are doing. This however only really helps when at least the first point is functioning. Nobody will play a broken or unbalanced gamemode just for some rewards. And as we’ve seen the shift in the last years people will actually gravitate more towards rewards if scores and points are simply meaningless. Both these points are sort of interchangable, but if you want to go for a competitive gamemode then scoring should definitely have a higher priority than rewards.This doesn’t mean that rewards can or should be entirely absent, but this is kind of the priority list that you should be going down imo. And I have the feeling that the Devs don’t work their way down these priorities but just do whatever they think to be nice right now.
I’m just saying the focus get shifted because of lack of understanding of why people leave or stay
Stay: love of the game, balance, rewards, friends, commanders,
Leave: balance, balance, balance,
people have been playing this game for years with barely any sort of rewards as time is older balance becomes more of a issue
over the coarse of the years as the balance in the gamemode get worst (slightly better as of late) more and more people leave.
Less balance = less commanders = more people leaving = even more less balance and the process restarts
Without Skill being Balance, and population across servers get damaged better then nothing will change
Servers should reduce to 9 or 12 and a full server rehaul should occur, this way anet can actually manage population set a threshold and lock the highest populations.
each server should be granted a new identity allowing server pride to return to the game and the population threshold should be lowered or raised accordingly if server 9 has 100 but server 1-8 have population of 1000 all 8 servers should be locked until server 9 is at least 900 to give them a chance to get a actual balance
Skills should honestly be balance once a month for wvw, it is high pace and involves a lot of fine tuning this give players to love there characters a chance to rebuild monthly and if a class gets broken one patch maybe they get fixed next. While some hate the constant change, hopefully no one thing get broken for a half a year again (this is where people get frustrated and leave) when broken things don’t get fixed

EDIT: although getting actual reward is a good change of place and will bring more blood into the game, balance with turn people away (skill, population and population if referring to more then just “nightcapper” for example sbi can que 2 maps during NA but BG can que 4 and cd cant que any but were in the same matchup)

that’s impossible most servers don’t buy guilds like mag bg and jq does that also being said there isn’t enough guild and people left to do so
It’s impossible for players to take charge… lead… inspire other players to get involved… teach people how to wvw… form guilds… ???
considering this has already happened in the pass and nowadays there is less and less players, guilds are disbanding and dying weekly and any new guild that is formed is mostly players from those dead guilds, not to mention so many players has lost faith in Anet in actually be capable of fixing anything.
People lose faith, People start caring less, Less caring is less pride, less pride mean people don’t take charge, without people in charge the things you said don’t happen as in grander scale
(The Lost Of Faith comes from promises and are always left unfilled)
In the long run it comes down to Anet ability to actually take charge of anything and make an honest “complete” attempt at anything rather then throwing 123 345 calling them attempts
1. Fixes bugs/glitches
2. Balancing skills/population
3. Add updates
Instead we get half kitten attempts or “Band-Aid” fixes, In Anet defense tho they hand a couple good Attempt most recent being Skirmishes and before DBL but they are so poorly attempt that they faile
that’s impossible most servers don’t buy guilds like mag bg and jq does that also being said there isn’t enough guild and people left to do so
I don’t see why all these people are defending SBI saying we don’t deserve this, we did this on our own with our own powers, when locked with weaker servers our fairweathers showed up in force and tier 3 east or west keeps on a daily basis. Even after people warned them what would happen they did it anyways because they are X server and deserve it.
Now that’s its happening to them they’ll cry in map chat, and I sit here and go this is what you asked for, and with less people showing up it seem weekly
What SBI got was Karma that they totally deserve

This is just my observation as a mag player, but i think you should give tc another shot. TC has been roiled by the server relinks, matchups and the guilds shuffling around that they have not had the time for the server to naturally stabalize. I am quite sure the remaining leaders of the server are attempting to reorganize their population for better wvw competetiveness once they catch a breather.
For me, no matter what the situation the server is in, I always opt to command because I dont like idling in wvw. My performance whether solo, 5 man, or up to zerging is always the same because it is always about dealing with situations. I never cared about the score, however i do care about my game when i play. This has traditionally been a tc mantra that they need to rediscover again. Only then will attitudes change. Yes blobbing is a problem, so are the trolls. Keep in mind that it is the momentum and focus that drives successful communities and creates that journey we all crave. I am confident tc will reach that point soon in the near future. They have many players up for the challenge ^^

Also had a pretty close to the same thing but expanded ideas
•1. Personally I would change OS to an instance similar to the PvP lobby, change the spawn to a singular spawn point allowing and cross-servers( basically the mega-server idea)
•2. Change Instance so it has two different arenas similar to the ones that’s already there and keep the JP for the random fun
•3. Lock the arena’s for 2 teams of 15 repping the same guild tag (to prevent trolls)
•4. Also, have a team of 1 for possible streamers (Perma Invis? No Reveal? no access to skills)
- 2v2,3v3, 5v5,10v10,15v15 etc… can be changed respectively (agreed before the round)
•5. Stands can be entered for “viewing purposes” meaning no access to skills (can be implemented upon entering OS Arena area

WarriorI agree with your arrangement for the most part but I believe Warrior is worse than Thief to be honest. They’re just meatshields now and 95% of them will be glassy providing nothing other than a few seconds of damage before they die or need to retreat and recover. Thieves can have a lot of use if they’re played properly but most people will stick to the backline and do nothing of value. Since we’re talking about to maximum potential, a smart and skilled Thief can easily assault the backline, grab stomps, provide Venom support and with the right build, even one shot commanders (there are videos of people doing this on Youtube).
Also you forgot Engineer. They are definitely a mixed bag in terms of support but they can provide it in their own ways and quite effectively if done right. Although Engineer’s support is more valuable in smaller scale than large, they can frontline quite effectively, provide a decent uptime of Superspeed, good cleanse, good heals, lots of CC and can self support without needing to be in a sub-squad with a Revenant.
I’m not trying to disprove anything you’ve said as again, I mostly agree. I just think that a couple of these classes need to be swapped around if talking maximum potential. I’ve seen a zerging Thief sniping backliners and revive supporting and I’ve seen/been frontline Engineer. It can really make a difference but you won’t see it often enough to notice most likely.
I was also factoring in the possible changes from the patch a lil bit ago IE shout warrior although its not dps and it has a banner if used making it higher then thief but I agree with Engi placement since I forgot to place it, and tbh I just don’t trust thief gameplay in a “team” setting

Anyway, GREN remain the core meta. No other classes are needed unless you want to fancy it up with focus parties or dedicated emergency banners/veils. Dont really need to though.
dang I did forget Engie which is surprising since we usually use one, But Engie is more meant for Skill play then zerging Ie. GvGs and such the Gyros bring a lot like stealthing targets and or downs

Ty dude, the exact kind of reply I wanted. For sake of discussion though, what were the reasons for your top 3? And what does druid bring to the table that puts it in 3rd?
For me I like to focus on sustain first rather then damage so
Guard – Your Zerg Forefront, best and most suitable for a zerg play Ie. stab cleanses
Rev – AoEs boons and suitable for Support play and damage play Ie. Resistance
Druid – If play extremely well currently best healing ingame otherwise I don’t trust them – I trust maybe 2 druids to do this
Ele – Best Overall Support Heals, Cleanses, Auras
No, condi isn’t the root of all evil it just that theres a kittenload of it going around, beside a lot of things can help like the things mentioned above

prob none cause 2 of the servers are “attempting” to tank in t1 so they’ll stop losing points eventually, not to mention it’ll be harder now since a couple guilds went to FC providing SoS a bigger chance of draining from JQ so goodluck, I mean RNG might happen who knows

Nah, a condition tain in a sense would cause “more” lag then regular power train because everything is done instantly rather then an overtime affect because math is hard, im in agreement limit conditions limit boons for a better life in wvw
this is worth a shot succeed or fail, some suggestions have been good others not so much but with a decent size group of people working with each other i think maybe something could happen although i doubt it

yea FA was totally “winning” when the alliance moved to TC and the rebel alliance moved to DB, make prefect sense, then we moved to SBI when they were losing T3 to SoS after which DOC and CCCP xfer in good job great facts

I actually prefer the 2-1-1 system its a lot easier for a server to tank even with the ppt tryhards, also as for a 2v1 and if any tier is doing it, yesterday CD and DB were basically 2v1ing SBI in EBG for hours at end to the point that in about 8hours I think they fought a whole 3 times, not that either servers could do anything when there EB blobs can be held with 10 people, CD at least fought back once VII got on and put a hurting on SBI for a bit.
That be said I don’t think they are “actively” 2v1ing SBI just some major focus on SBI because they wanted to prevent SM from T3ing which is impossible cause both server were one pushing once SBI active zerg came
long story short people spamming the kodan, near keep sometimes glitches out the walls allowing player to glitch through, in the player words “the wall went invisible, like they arn’t even there” might be something anet might wanna look into

or change to power, pls let anet work on stuff that actually matters like lag and class balance

Scoring improvements included loot improvements – which will be more useful than matchup changes that make no positive difference to the player experience
unless I’m getting a legendary or ascended armor woopie kitten do, the loot changes are prob more blue or green who cares makes little to no difference, unless this loot it real loot, Beside I don’t like either option Anet still takes 6 years to do anything for WvW, and the changes they actually add make little to no difference expect causes more bugs
fix lag and some skill balance and wvw would be taking a bigger step in the right direction, other then these 2 pointless things
