I really wonder why there are still people who wonder about the fact that content which is delivered within an expansion actually requires the expansion. I never played GW1 but it is common sense in every other MMO that you have to pay for the expansion if you want to experience something which is coming along with the expansion. Maybe this wasn’t handled that way in GW1.
I wonder why people always quit one MMO to come to another one just trying to make it like the ones they quit. Why quit at all when you want to play the game you quit instead of a new and fresh one?
I will main a Revenant with HoT. Coming from Warrior. Not changing because I dislike the Berserker or something like that. I just want to play something new and decided to main Revenant as soon as I heard of it.
Timers are essential for challenging (!) encounters which the raid ones are supposed to be. Imagine there wasn’t a timer. You could make your characters as tanky as possible and still be able to beat the bosses. You would never ever be in danger of dying to the mechanics, but it would take ages for you to kill it. It would become a challenge of patience instead one of skill. The complete raid would become a question of “who kills the boss the fastest” instead of “who kills the boss at all” – remove the timer and you remove the challenge and you will get in quintessence the same boring content you have right now. Please don’t remove the timer. Instead go ahead and take a look again at them numbers. One minute left on the timer (one of the groups in kill videos had 1 minute left) is way too much.

I wonder how are you measuring this. Are you looking at all the announced things and put numbers on them? I can’t get it.Are you really saying people shouldnt be able to judge the value of the product 20 days before it is released, based on all the information that the company released?
What are they supposed to do, buy everything and then return it later?
No, I was just wondering about how they are measuring what is worth 54€ and what’s not. I can’t. That’s way too abstract. I couldn’t say what the core game was delivering what was worth more than the AddOn is delivering now. There are meaningful and much needed (!) additions to every aspect of the game. What more can you expect from an expansion for a game? I agree with you if you dislike some of the new features. But if you like all of them and just saying “It isn’t enough” I don’t understand you. You can’t deliver content in an expansion in the way you delivered in a game which were developed for about 5 years. And the price is standard in the industry right now for expansion packs.

I would like to propose a way for guild leaders/officer/whatever to contact those of the guildmates who aren’t representing at the moment. I thought of something like a button which lets you contact those with a short message. I would really find that useful.
One could alert their guildmates whenever something important is happening or if you just are looking for someone for activity X. You could implement this in a way guild leaders could decide which rank is able to send those messages so they won’t be abused to troll.
I’m well aware that there might be people who don’t want to be contacted when they are not representing as they aren’t representing for a reason and therefore ANet could also implement an option like “Don’t let guild leaders contact me via X (whatever you call this function) when I’m not representing.”
I think it would be a fine addtion.

If I had to guess I’d say I’m not the only person who managed to accidentally delete one of his chat tabs at random times when trying to switch really fast between them. That little “x” is just so close to the channels name and there also isn’t a confirmation request when deleting one of your tabs. I therefore suggest a simple “Lock Chat Settings” button in the chat menu. I don’t know how hard it would be to implement something like but it would be a great help. It’s also some kind of standard in other games I played.
Tell me what you are thinking about that. Sorry if this was already suggested.

Explain. I just started my own Engineer because the class is much more fun than the Warrior. More gimmicky and stuff.
Yes we do have a problem here imo, and people like you are a part of the problem. After 7 months of slow paced, miniscule, unsignificant changes how about they GIVE US SOMETHING GOOD FOR FREE. After all, i did BUY THE GAME advertised as e-sports material, and it still lacks features, after 7 months, that should have been there on release. I dont know about you, but i dont appreciate being cheated and lied to. Instead of giving players opportunity to earn money ( real money not gems) by competing on the top level, they want more money from the players for some not-really-optional features. HA. They will not get a cent from me until all features that make a good PVP MMO are in place and are free of charge, THEN i will consider buying something i like if its completely optional. If that does not happen i will not play this, and i suspect many who dont play feel the same way. Good day.
We got a communication problem here. My answer wasn’t supposed to say “there is no problem with paid custom arenas or Guild Wars 2 at all.”. It was meant as a direct answer to milo to clarify that I agree with him.
I agree with you, too. There are a lot of features lacking at the moment and there were a lot of things promised which aren’t delivered until now and therefore ArenaNet lied to us. No question about that. All I wanted to say is I can understand why the custom servers are paid but I strongly disagree with the costs as most of you do.
There is also no need for insults. It’s not “people like me” who fail to deliver features needed and I always critizied ArenaNet for their politics regarding sPvP. I just want people to calm down cause kittenstorms won’t make them deliver faster.

Why? They won’t shut down the free tournaments. You will be able to play for free as you did in the last 7 months. In addition to that you will be able to play on custom cervers rented by others or rent one for yourself.
Don’t get me wrong. I find 2,5€ or 200 gems a day way too expensive but I understand why they make players to pay for custom arenas.
Why is everybody thinking everybody should be able to rent a Custom Server? If anyone were able to rent a Custom Server you would exchange a bad system (Hotjoin) against a worse system (Custom Arenas for everyone = Hotjoin with daily/weekly/monthly costs). As I understand the Custom Server, they are supposed to work exactly as dedicated server used to work in Battlefield for example. Guilds or teams rent them and solo players are able to connect to them and start having fun. Due to that it will be less anonymous and small oder greater communites have a chance to grow. Players come back to servers they enjoy, players can choose to play on deathmatch or domination servers, etc. etc.
As somebody in this thread already mentioned: 200 gems for one person a day is a lot but if there’s a community or a guild with 15-30 people who want to rent a server it’s 4 gold each for half a month / a month. I think that’s okay.
There’s no kittenstorm on the fact that you have to pay for them but on the price model (which isn’t confirmed at all).
You people should calm down. There was no announcement and nobody thought CA’s would be in today’s patch. I really don’t think the CA-Kits are final and therefore neither are their tooltips. Just calm down und wait until today’s patchnotes, an announcement or a clarification byone of them devs.

Anet would have to look at the numbers because there are exchange rates for gold and gems should be equally fair to obtain for PvE and PvP but that’s actually a very good idea I’d say.

I approve this. An eSports orientied free to play game with easy access for new players and rewarding systems for the best of them promise a high amount of cash generated through advertises and microtransactions. I heard ArenaNet likes cash as any other company does. I can’t believe why so few companies understand that.
