How do I join?
Who are we looking for?
Friendly Faces
Maturity
Respectful and sociable newcomers
Active players
Joining Silent Sorrow is as easy as going to the website, creating an account, and filling out our application for review by the Recruitment Department (Because we are in the process of building a new site and are using guildlaunch, login with your guildlaunch account and apply to our site with it ^^). Remember, your application is your first opportunity for us to get to know you! While we don’t expect you to be super-serious, we do ask that you to take a moment to show us who you are.
If your application is accepted, you will become a “Recruit.” What does this mean? You will begin an Introductory Period which is planned to last two weeks from the date you accept your in-game guild invite. During the Introductory Period, current guild members will make an active effort to welcome you and show you the ropes. We ask you to take steps to get to know us, as well! Be active in Teamspeak (if you like), on our Website/Forums, and of course, in-game! Please don’t hesitate to ask if you have questions about the guild or the game in general.
FAQ
Is there an age minimum?
Yes and no, but unofficially it is 15. Specifically it is because we cover a wide variety of interests, from the silly and family friendly things to the dark and bizarre. Our roleplays can have “Rated R” material in them, and while we ask all to be respectful there are ‘mature content discussions’ in both our TS3 and forums from time to time. Remember though: Age is a number, and maturity extends far beyond it, so we examine new applicants on a case by case basis: exceptions will be made for the exceptional!
Is Voice Chat Required?
Absolutely not, but it is preferable for when the guild is running dungeons or large events. You’ll sometimes see people responding/ talking to invisible voices in guild chat; they are usually answering someone on our Voice server! As of now we are using TS3 and our information can be found by recruits and members on our forums.
Who can I go to if I have questions?
Well first off, anyone! Don’t feel afraid to ask around if you have ANY questions, but if it’s something you’d like to discuss a bit more privately then feel free to send a message to any, or ALL of the officers in the guild. You can find a full list of them here. You can also post any questions you have here on this thread and we will be happy to answer them as we come across them, or even ask us in game or through PMs on these forums.
What kind of activities do you have?
That’s a handsome question right there! We offer daily events ranging from various dungeons and fractals, RP events (Guild Story progression and more), and sometimes we just like to all get together and run some puzzles or [do a few missions when applicable]. We may not have every event every day, but we try to provide you as a member a plethora of activities to do. If YOU would like to do something and it isn’t on the books, well then you go ahead and ask an Officer to schedule it… or put it up yourself! We encourage all members to organize events if they wish, whether spontaneous or calendared on the forums.
When is your guild most active?
Right now, we are mostly active in the evenings from around 6-12 est (A majority of our events occur around these times!), but we do have several members that play at various times throughout the day and night.
