Because if it would work like that people would create level 1 alts and skill up the crafts only to craft those once per day items. No alts, just craft bots. This would enable such people to have full ascended gear alot faster, making it a no-efford compleatly. What would be the point to introduce new gear in the first place then?
And what about those who have put all their time on one character? Why should you be able to get one of your characters geared faster multiplied by how many alts you have? Also, you do not need to run around gathering anything. Just buy from TP. If you prefer to gather, then that is upto you like having many alts.
You put the time to level up your alts, you put the time to gear up them as well.
The fact that 8 characters can gather 8 times more materials in a day than 1?
Like most normal human beings I find it rather hard to play more than one character at any time.
Login char 1, build “ascended armor crafting piece 1”, logoff, logon char 2, build “ascended armor crafting piece 1”, logoff, login char 3…
Now, if the crafted pieces would be character bound this would not matter since you would be fully geared at the same time with all characters. Having those items account pound creates a slight handicap for those who have dedicated their time for one character.
(edited by Reann.9480)
Those who have divided their gametime to level up alts would be able to get their first character with ascende armor alot faster than those who have spent their time playing only one. Since every player has atleast that one character it is easiest to balance things around that instead of penalizing them for not having loads of full level alts.
Are those achievements for real? 255 sentries? 500 guards? But ONLY 450 WvW kills? During seven weeks of fighting? What??? Veteran of PvE in WvW?
As every time we raid, we recorded everything, and you can watch it here : http://www.twitch.tv/warlegend/b/466834996.
Entertaining to watch. Nice to see a guild group running with low amount of randoms. Seems you are also eager to engage regardless of the odds.
Sounds fair vs IRONs 35?
Can’t say, never get odds that good.
To be worth the tag you would need to do it with 20 max.
Actually have no place in this topic, was just curious since the familiar tag popped up.
So this is 60?
Naah, that’s just 33 quickly counted. Still 90% of our full roster.
Seafarer never had russians. It was propoganda we started back in the days against vizu
You are going to be THE russian server quite soon.
Honestly, who is chest beating? Or do you mean the posts from yesterday? Because now I see people congratulating each others for a fun evening.
Last evening I personally had fun fighting against guild groups. Started with 15 VII at NE of Garrison upto 20 later in Bay and at south in the fights Sylosis spoke about.
I was quite happy to see CoN, INVI and other guilds wait and watch the fights before joining in. Something which has lately been rarer and rarer. I would assume it was enjoyable for you as well?
If GvG oriented guilds are so skillfull they might be able to level up the game from lowest tier servers if they really like challenges like they said.
Been there, done that. Next?
Can’t say for sure, but I doubt it. For excample VII has a big group of players from EET (GMT+3), so your 8 pm would be 6 am for us. Something in between could work.
But who knows what happens when Vanz takes out the whip…
Most of Piken’s run 20-25-30max as far as I’m concerned
There are guilds in Piken which can field 30?!? Most active ones I know (yeah, I don’t know much) can barely get 15 in average nowadays… Speedbumps…
I don’t care if there are 2 guilds of around 30 fighting togheter like some days that we faced HoB and VII (i think they were those) and generate lag.
Wait, are you complaining about VII and HoB playing together few nights back and having 30 guys in total againts the BB zerg, and these two guilds causing massive lag, or did I misunderstand this somehow?
Yeah, I kinda meant it as a sarcastic comment since we do not know what the “pro” guilds who are happy with this new “challenge” still are. I don’t know any, but I’m no “pro” so…
I feel fairly certain in saying that the guilds, which might not be as “pro” as seems to be the requirement in this thread, in Piken Square are all hating this change.
Forcing everyone to blob up to do hours of boring siege warfare, requiring skill or not, is no fun to the small-med guilds running around the field in Piken used to taking on the odds.
How are the allies effected by Shouts selected by the game? Party members? Range? Random?
Pure of Voice affects those same allies as the shouts? So if no conditions, no boon either.
Same for Soldier runes?
So, if from 10 allies around you 5 have conditions on them and you use a shout with the above trait and runes what happens? Is the worse case scenario such that you just boon the 5 guys without any conditions and have no use of PoV and runes and leave the 5 unlucky allies just to suffer with the conditions on them?
Or how does this work? Separately?
Has VII ben in AR?
I didn’t see them just heard “VII with a ram south bay” “ram down” that’s all :S
Yes, VII has been in AR… BL, like last evening. Still in Piken since the headstart.
What happened to the small scale Piken?
You just didn’t notice the 10-20 man guild groups as other than speed bumps if you still run 25-30 guys like last time.
The same way you care about the score?
Just tag up so I know when we roll over you out there.
Tag up Daniel. So far only two guilds in RS have bragging rights for anything from my experience. If those guilds are not around the situation is, well, like last evening in AR BL…
For the next week, all the medium population servers will be free to transfer to. Might be worth giving one of them a look!
Are any of the medium size servers above or at T3?
Piken Square EU T3 rank 7.
[VII] and [TNTD] have been spawn camping Gandara for the last few hours. Legit tactic? Sure. But it’s pretty low and unsportsmanlike. Lost a lot of respect from us today, if there was any to begin with. Most just see them as zerg cappers who take advantage of culling to win battles.
Erm? We took a keep, you took keep door down, we defend the keep, you build siege outside, we come and kill loads and loads of siege, we go back to defend keep, non-stop fighting at the keep with all doors down from all sides and servers for two hours, literally.
Does this mean that we should have let you cap the keep back because it was next to your spawn and you just kept coming back in at it with numbers? Do not belittle the efford of your servermen did there as they gave us full run for the money.
Well Reann that could mean 2 things.
You want us to face you or you want to see vizunah stomp us:)
I was actually hoping you would drop them to the next tier instead and come to fight us.
Step it up GH! Next tier! Go go go! You know why.
Yes, let us organize the community of a T8 server, work our kitten off to get it to T3-4 while nobody wants to help us reach that goal and then transfer out when people bandwagon the server at T3 when they are no longer needed let alone wanted. That sounds fair, doesn’t it?
I bet you make food, set the table and get ready to eat and when uninvited guests come and sit in the table and start eating you just start all over again, huh?
The servers belong to ArenaNet and they opened up all the servers to players worldwide. You may have been on the server a little longer but that doesn’t mean you have exclusive rights to world vs world.
Get the picture. It’s whoever queues up first that gets to play first. Or whoever stays inside world vs world the longest keeps their spot in world vs world. ArenaNet already has a system to boot inactive/idle WvW players.
Players/guilds in there you don’t recognize or don’t like? Deal with it. Every server has those problems.
Yes, hence I did not say who “paid” the material the food was made from or who owned the table in the analogy. But the community we have did MAKE the food and put it on the table. Got the picture?! The community is not anything ANet can claim a hold over, it is simply something the players own.
Some people want to work for it, some just to come and use what others have done. Take a pick which group you belong to.
And to use your analogy it is more like a cafeteria, where you have your set table, and one day when you go to get food someone else sits down there with his group of friends. You can ask him to leave but if he refuses you can either sit down together with him and his friends or find yourself a new table.
No, not really. The community is not something which comes with the purchase of the game. You cleared after that you did not mean it that way, but that was the way I understood it and replied to: that you told us to abandon our community if we did not like the queues in short. Hence my analogy about us doing the work (the community, rise o the server) and then being told to leave if we did not like it when others flocked in.
If you are not happy with your current server, and you want less WvW queues you just might have to transfer, and since the free transfers are closed you’ll have to pay the price for it.

I think you should answer some other questions before considering to call out Anet.
What do you consider is a viable waiting time before being able to complete events in some places of Tyria ? Etc…
Do you see where I’m heading at ?
Transfer fees come in to bring stability and balance for any kind of playstyle and fun. PvE, WvWvW, sPvP, RP, and whatever else. By scaling transfer fees upon WvWvW rankings, they would deny, or alterate at least, the ability for servers like Piken Square (for exemple) to get some fresh PvE blood. Valuating one kind of fun over an other would be just plain bad for Anet’s business, that’s why transfer fees are only about whole server population and not a part of it.I do agree that queue length is a pain in the kitten, but it’s the dark side of having a high population in WvWvW and happens regardless to the fact that your whole server population is low, medium or high.
I would go and run other events in the mean time? Or is there just one event you can do? If you are in queue for WvW you can’t do any events, not even one, and there is no options to do other WvW stuff while you waiting for this one “event” to pop up…
Do you see where I am heading at?
Also, there are tools for people doing PvE to play with their friends be in any server they want after the visitor thing. How many such options do WvW people have? If my friends are in WvW and I am stuck in queue there nothing I can do, no visiting, no dungeons or anything.
So why is the one side without ANY options being pusnished and not the PvE community which has several options to play around this problem?
Edit: Lets put a limit on how many dungeons can be run from one server at the same time and put people on queue to wait for an opening. I would love to see THAT kittenstorm from people!
(edited by Reann.9480)
Switch the travel pop-up so that it will automatically move you in the end instead of taking you off the queue. After all, you queued to get in to the zone, right?. Would help a bit atleast in my opinion.
Yesterday between 6 and 10pm CET I have reconnected a few times and queued only for 10-20 minutes every time.
Lucky you! A guildie spent two hours in the queue last night before giving up. Requeued, switched locations, standing on his head and praying to the admin gods and whatnot. In the end he logged off bored to death.
I know you are writing it alot even in our community forums that queues are not that bad, that there are ways around it. Sadly it just doesn’t seem to work that well as VII has people stuck in queues for hours every single evening, and trust me when I tell you that they try what ever trick possible to get in!
we fought a lot servers and ye piken had some good guilds but they was just the same as on other servers we saw before
RG is very good and no – other piken guilds dont have “almost the same skill” lol
Funny thing, ER was the first server who dared to do GvG with us. You should ask your big guilds how well it went for them even with the numbers they had.
Also, wanna tag up and tell us your guild so I can say if yours was one of them we fought before? Or incase when we meet again we can arrange something again. Would be a pleasure I’m sure.
Oh,what we gonna do now ? Our so called “CORE” guilds with 10-15-20 ppl have left…We are doomed !
Just shows that you simply do not know one thing about Piken with that comment.
Quantity is not quality. The core guilds which were the force behind Pikens rise can’t get their raid groups in anymore. Now there are just pugs and bandwagoners who expect to get carried to higher tiers and are getting hammered in the lakes. Some core guilds have left already and who knows what will happen before the deadline…
…untill Piken comes to T2, T1 will stay the same.
I would not hold my breath on this one. Alot of internal drama this week with guilds moving in without consulting with the Piken community before the hop. Latest rumor is that what is left of xaoc just came from Vabbi.
Alot can happen in the 10 days left before…
So we have a case of devs not playing a big part of their own game yet again? Want us to go single target? This is WAR all over again then…
In WAR AoE actually was overpowered, and people complained alot about it for a long long time. But the devs claimed that ST was ruling supreme.
…until they met few EU guilds in the test server. I’m sure Sacrx or someone else from Red Guard or VII can post the screenshot from the test sever. Resulted in fastest AoE nerf (or attempt) in the history of any online game. Too bad it was too little too late…
ANet, if you do not play your own game, atleast listen to the community instead of assuming you know it best.
Now all of a sudden the more organized guilds decide to join last week’s winning server… and this happens. It’s not enjoyable to play like this anymore.
Out of personal curiosity, can you name these more organized guilds which have joined the winning server?
There is a difference in leveling cooking and actually using it. Many of us are making the point that using cooking to actually do stuff when you have reached 400 is very slow and utterly annoying. Don’t confuse the two issues people are talking about in this thread.
All I want is an option to create the final product after discovering it if you have all the materials. Takes just ages to do all the soups and fillings and whatnot before you get to the final product you want. Would that be too hard to implement?
Moa slotted, just for him ;P
OMG! Best plan ever! Vanz! Moa! Slot it!
How can I get MY monthly when I do only WvW? They should atleast make alternate options, like keep takes instead of fractal levels or what ever those are, or 5k kills or something…
Goes both ways, althou nowhere near equally. 50 kills…
How would you want to do that ? rules ? xx VS xx ?
Pick a date, zone and approximate time and send those details to us in private. Numbers don’t matter to us. VII usually fields 15-20, so anything less than that and I would reconsider.
Then we roam the zone picked and people tend to die.
Saw Aegis, WvW, zerg and one other guild group from Elona atleast (sorry if I have typos in tags). Piken had us VII, PX and cotg in decent numbers and HoB with two(?) groups out there.
KoA could have left those necro pets at the keep and join us in the fun in the open.
In the end (for me) there was a massive three way fight at south Hills around the steps and bridge. Would have made a decent movie just frapsing the waves of Elona and Kodashians coming to kill VII there and get hit in the back by the other at the just right time …for us that is.
Ahri, pick a time and place, just not the Piken Borderland if you want to fight the organized guilds of PS. PS BL is the one which is always full on primetime and guild forming up then have zero chance to get in there.
1. yes i am colorblind, but not between red and green.
2. you are just saying what i say. later in the evening when we are dead you clash…
Ehm no, the clash will start in 35 minutes. Just that it does take a tiny bit time to capture fully upgraded keeps with 1,7k supplies, ready build sieges, and a Kodashian zerg defending those. Just keep an eye on those maps.
ps. In our forums people are writing the exact same thing how you two are teaming on us day after day. Doesn’t mean it so, right?
then the evening comes and both kodash and piken decide to go zerg FS BL.
so we have to defend from 2 sides all the time and lose 90% of the map, sometimes 100%.
Just change FS with Piken and vice verse and this would be a post made by a Piken BL defender.
I’m sure Kodash players can reply to you how much hand holding was done last evening in their own home turf…
ps. You need to check if you are colorblind if you say Piken and Kodash BL’s don’t change colors every evening!
SF BL overrun by insane piken zergs.
with VII and PX working together we dont stand a chance.
at this time we dont even have enough people for 1 map anymore…
Heh, you had PLENTY just minutes ago in there.
Just think if RG would have stuck around.
Why? They were visiting other servers half of the time as it was. Piken was doing just fine then as we are doing right now.
@Snort, The UnNamed guild was the same guild that in War Karak Norn ?
If yes, you know if Moonlapse guild play on BT/GW2 also ?Need to fight all this old name again
Hey mate , yes it is us the same guild. We played on Norn/Hirn.
I havent seen any Moonlapse that I am aware off.
There are quite a few of us old Moonlapse faces playing at Piken Square in VII and HoB.
