just have to say it since no one seems to do so DH 1200 with fall of about 1350 range while ranger 1500 with fall of about 1800 range also we have increased velocity have you even fought a DH at long range there is an easy counter simply side strafe and they can barely hit you pop swiftness and they cant
Imo the only change they should do to Longbow is make the peircing arrows baseline since now to make lb viable as a range weapon you pretty much need it IMO atleast
also they do hit harder and so on but theyre LB is more for hard hitting while ranger lb is for more hits just look at the number 2 skills just look at the number 2 skills rapid fire vs true shot
personaly I still think Ranger is the better one on LB BUT that is with Lead the Wind since if you fight multiple enemies like lets say a team fight if you only hit one you cant do any realy dmg but if you line up the shoots and hit 2-3 enemies then you start getting somewhere also thanks to the long range its an excellent way to finnish someone of

staff 3 pop SoS use GoU go into CaF and use Natural Convergence its a nice combo but its like I said A suicide attack and thats pretty much the only time I feel that GoU does any noticeable dmg when I suicide into their team and activate it which you pretty much have to considering its crappy range

3 people asking for a healer spec does not mean every Ranger wanted a healer spec.
Up until the announcement of Druid people who played game still believed Anet wanted rid of healers and weren’t just going to jam a badly designed one into the game to try and sell Raids.
from what I hear ranger s didnt ask for healing they asked for team support and we got both its not perfect I can give you that but we have the capacity to boost the partys overall dps by a pretty large margin Rangers always had dmg and we do even more now thanks to the new pets and with druid we can help others aswell
also I feel that ppl have gotten the wrong idea of things elite spec were never supose to be an UPGRADE but an SIDEGRADE you sacrifice dmg for team support and so on so yeah
I have not seen 1 healing focused Druid in wvw or pve or fractals. I bet there are not healing focused Druids in spvp. The only place healing is used is raids because everyone stands still bashing a boss. This is a poor design.
I usually run healing druid in 90-100 fractals and its easy as hell because I just out heal the 5 agony + all the dmg ppl take its 1 less person dpsing yes but no one ever dies
Core range is terrible, so sadly in raids you are forced into the druid healbot role.
Funny thing is a berzerker Tempest can put out similar healing as a berzerker druid and yet the Tempest does SOOOOOOO much more DPS.

Tempest doesn’t beat this role. It’s an illusion because you see more personal DPS rather than 30% party-wide DPS boost. Tempest is just more comfortable. Not more powerful.You’re just a buffbot, much like a Chronomancer. On an individual level, solo scenario or roaming PvP this makes no difference.
It’s also 15% more damage (3% for 5 stacks), not 30% DPS boost how the hell do you even get that math?
Grace of the land 5 stacks 15% dmg Glyph of empowerment 10% dmg pop CaF heal up exit use glyph of empowerment and boom 25% dmg this is one of the most basic things you can do to boost dmg Im suprised you didnt know about it
forgot Frost spirit which gives about 7,5% dmg so yeah 30% sounds about right

umm ok quick question where is the bug???? Theifs,guardians,mesmer and revenants can teleport 1 floor up and many claim thats not a bug and this which clearly isnt a bug ppl claim is one….

first you use a combo finisher leap that works as intended and the use you the druid staff 3 that works as intended so where is the bug
one of the issues I have with it is that for instance you have an barrage out and use point blank shot he will be rooter and knocked out of the roots similar things tend to happen in pvp when U just use poin blank and rf or just shoot normaly
so stupid to have a gm trait that can be negated so easaly knockback pull dmg honestly I wouldnt even be suprised if fear broke the roots aswell since pretty much any other cc does (my own not enemy) and they can also just destroy the roots that so all in all its a pretty much point less trait
They don’t seem to work or be remotely effective against other players in WvW or PvP but the pnjs or bots.
Apparently:
- They are too slow and when they come out the target is not there anymore.
- With food/trait/rune you get a shorter duration of the immo so you can walk away.
- Cleanses delete immo so you can walk away.
- Roots can be destroyed instantly even by random aoe not even your, and then you walk away.
So like seriously, what is the point to make all the fancy roots mechanic if later you just can ignore it completely.
So, could we get at least an special immo that can not be cleansed or affected by food/traits so the target has to kill the root?
And the roots can get the if not targeted 90% damage reduction treatment so they are not destroyed almost instantly by random AoE?
you forgot you mention they can also be knockbacked or pulled out of the roots

Just one thing you seem to forget the pet is a huge chucnk of the rangers dmg and the pet is supose to be a threat its one of the major points about the ranger. and also like all scrubs seem to forget the bristleback f2 CAN be interupted ppl just usually dont have the brains to do it because the are to focused on killing the bunker to focus the glas canon
so in short interupt the pet its as easy as that its just like fighting any other player when they use their hard hit skill you interupt it dont whine if your to stupid to acually interupt it

Wouldn´t the new search and rescue make the trait that uses it when you begin ressing somebody useless?
Since it will draw pet to your location, which is the same place since you are on top of the downed person already.
start ressing a downed player and then stop and keep dpsing and let the pet do it on the secound downed use Search and Rescue
thats usually how I do it but now you can mix it up a bit more since now you will have use for it other then the regen

“intended” being the most wonky clunky weapon in the game…
they havent touched it since beta and now when the “notes” are out its confirmed they arent touching it for this balance patch and Im guessing they never will either its pretty much a fact anet has given up on longsword ranger
WHaO and SotP are pretty much the only used shouts while its true that I SOMETIMES use Sic Em in WvW for those pesky theifs guard and protect me always felt weird being a shout
and last but not least Search and Rescue while pretty much everyone else can get the person up instantly after a small cast time we have to wait for the pet to find the person and start ressing which can be INTERUPTED…..
and dont forget that since HoT the pets do quite a large chucnk of our total dmg
which turn out something like 25-30% of our dmg will be standing there ressing someone for 5-10 sec
so bottom line can there be changes to the shout YES and big ones but do I expect them NO it expect they will become viable sometime around when the next xpack comes which I estimate will be in something around 2-3 years
I think ideally you want to make sure you’ve got enough Healing capacity that you’re not stuck rolling the dice.
You shouldn’t beat yourself up over being unable to heal through sudden major catastrophes where somebody sheepishly admits in voicechat: “Sorry guys, my Bad”. But a low background noise of human error is just the natural consequence of playing with 9 other human beings. If you’re succumbing to a small series of accidents that slowly spins out of control chasing that pyrrhic victory where you have whole minutes left on the clock – you haven’t empowered yourself enough to overcome your squad’s reasonable margin of error.
So some people get stuck rolling the dice hoping for that “smooth run”, when you can build in a safety margin and help be the thing that makes it smooth.
thats one of the beauties with glyph of empowerment in CAF it gives 5 ppl +25% outgoing healing so things look like they will be going south just pop CAF and use glyph of empowerment and let the others help out with the healing everyone complain on tempests healing why not help him heal even more

When are we going to get this great healer as advertised in the twitchcon video? So far the elementalist does this “healing job” far far far better and smoother and more consistently… Plus this profession sits at the top of the meta food chain too! Pretty cool if ya ask me.
Maybe time to wipe away the “burst heal concept” and go for a more dependable mass healer form. Heck, just make CA a perm form and completely seperate specialization from the Druid… Make Druid a much much better hybrid healer/dpser! Ohhh, maybe Druid be the hybrid heal/burn condition/control build? All those would be great! Seeing THOSE happening would be more in line with the absolutely awesome and unique and different and amazing Anet we know and love! It IS within you all! I believe!!!

zerker superior rune of the Monk on weapon superior rune of Transference
long story short yes a tempest can do “more” healing then druid BUT the druids base healing can be INSANELY much higher thanks to the fact that in CaF you have acces to Glyph of Empowerment that gives 25% more healing that combined with monk and transference pretty much removes the point of you even useing healing gear thats to the bad scaling
so basicly a tempest can outheal a druid when he runs healing gear causing him to lose a lot of dmg while the druid can do enough healing even with full zerker gear
Its mostly a case of ppl thinking WE HAVE A DRUID IN OUR RAID WE CAN STAND IN ALL THOSE RED AOES AND TAKE ALL THAT DMG SINCE HE HAS HEALING GEAR AND CAN OUTHEAL IT
in my experience just run zerker and swap those runes for monk and get a superior sigil of transference thats pretty much the healing you need
pop CaF use glyth of empower and you will be able to do insane healing
also those glyphs are good for both dmg and healing thanks to grace of the land
bottom line imo dont bother spending money on healing gear since the healing scales so bad thanks to all those nerfs and with monk combined with superior sigil of transference you will be able to do the healing that is reqiured

most ranger I see in pvp run zerker which causes them do die close to instantly when you get close
Id say its the build if that happens since I usually dont have any problem staying alive 2vs1 or sometimes even 3vs1
just use the glyphs they are pretty much made for pvp
I always enjoy watching ppl complain about healing druid being out performed by tempests on the forums since they havent yet noticed that with the healing scaling on druid its pretty much better to run full zerker with monk runes and Superior sigil of transference then to run healing gear
just run offensive healer
I can recommend trying it usually its enough for the raid if ppl know that they shouldnt stand in all those red aoes

while I personaly kinda like the druids Celestial Avatar my biggest disslike with it is the fact that you need to fill the meter before you can enter it why isnt it more like necros shroud that you can enter and exit at will aslong and you have the energy to maintain it while its not a big issue its one I atleast would like answered why the opted for such a stupid solution when they clearly have better ones already implemented on other classes

Well i can not actually agree to that, somehow i found out that druid has crazy DPS on staff’s 1 and when you using druid’s pair LB /staff with correct traits it gives you extra high moving ability and crazy damage. All you need for that is at least 55% critical and zerker stats. With correct food you will get for example in WvW around 2.8k damage / 1.1k ferocity. It allows you to drain your enemy with 18-25 k crit.damage in 5 sec with staff’s 1, if you switch weapon and use LB’s 4 (knockback) with trait that apply entangle on knockbacking enemy and rapid fire after that it will be crazy damage. Low Vitality (around 16k) and Armor points around 2k is compensated with permanent 33% speed increase and staff’s 3 + LB’s 3 with stealth are giving you nice maneur . Also the healing skills of staff and celectial avatar still heals your allies with 1.7/2.3k, trust me its not bad at all.
Overall you can burst the most hated Pew Pew Ranger build to the God of hated rank ;D
try fighting a hammer revenant or a dual pistol Theif theyre burst is even more insane they can pretty much down you on theyre pew pew while rangers LB2 dmg got nerfed by about 50%
lost always have 4 nodes while gilded always have 5 no idea why but its always like that for me same for my guildies
for me the other guild Im a member of it always have 5 nodes
the lost has 4 node locations while the gilded has 5 thats the thing it has more nodes
the are but the lost has 1 ore 1 wood and 2 plant while the gilded has 3 plant and has les upgrades in the workshop

I think you are just looking at the numbers that the AA makes and thinking that is actual damage.
Open a tab in the chat box to show the damage you deal and look at the solar beam damage.
Staff damage is VERY low, but it is fast, so as suggested previously, great for on crit stuff to proc.
fairly sure he only looked at the dmg after spamming one for like 1 min or 2 and didnt look at anything else but I have to agree a bit the staff isnt made for dmg its made for healing and some support so if they should do anything to the staff 1 they should increase the healing
I dont know if its just me that has noticed something like this I am a member of three guild that has guild hall 2 has lost and 1 has Gilded and I have looked over EVERY upgrade in the workshop but the guild that has Gilded has 5 nodes but is less upgraded then the two with lost but they have only 4 nodes
and yes I did check the workshop upgrades which is why I find it so weird since its less upgraded but has MORE nodes
Dueled 1 druid in wvw with zerker gear. When i got his hp to low after avoiding, tanking and surviving 50+ traps barely the ranger switch to celestial form and uses 1 skill to heal up to full hp. GG.

Would it be fair to have power, precision, ferocity, toughness, healing power stats then cause condition damage doesn’t need anything else than the 1 condition damage stat unlike normal damage?

No. Not be able to duel druid easily on my terms. It wasn’t easy to avoid, tank and survive 50+ traps. The thing is like it was with the old d/d ele. It does too much damage compared to what it tanks. If you build a tank build you should do almost no damage.
Conditions dmg thoughness healing power since you dont know let me explain condi dmg is pretty much the only stat that affects the dmg of conditions precision might give more stacks but it doesnt affect the dmg of each stack so in other words if you only do a spesific ammount of stacks that cant be increased by things like bleed on critt you usually dont bother with it why should you then NOT run an addition defensive stat further increasing your surviveability
also fyi dont complain on someone that he is to tanky when he is runing condi healing toughness when you runing full zerker AND NO CONDI CLEANSE 25 bleed stacks is still only ONE condition
All condition builds on strong condition classes have the ability to tank and deal damage. This is not an issue unique to Druids. If you want to change how condition damage works so that it requires investment in 3 stats, make that argument, rather than complaining about how you were defeated by another player and therefore their class should be nerfed.
I dont think he know condi dmg usually goes hand in hand with either toughness or vitality while he runs full zerker and wonders why they can take more dmg then him
Going to be investigating this. It may require some change to Smoke Assault, since the active skills are intended to be a little stronger than the passive skills.
Irenio, this is the mentality that is holding Ranger back. Instead of nerfing Smoke Assault, why not just buff the F2 so it blinds as well or something?
The passive skills are often far stronger than the active skills anyway and in those cases where they are, its always because there is a utility skill on the F2, exactly what a smoke field is.
…As others have suggested creating a second completely unique smokescale pet would end this argument. One pet would have a bursty f2, the other a smoke field. Players could then actually tailor pet skill load out for builds.
They will not do that, unless the Smoke Assault is removed from the other Smokey, since you could just F2, then when its over, swap and get another Smoke Assault automatically.
The pet uses the #3 skill immediately after swap, i don’t get why people cannot use this the same way we have swapped to dogs for KD and drakes for tail swipe or birds for swiftness for the last 3 years.
1)Because is not as flexible /reliable.
2)Because smokefield F2 feels clunky with taunt.
3)Because players like to combo assault with SOTW/sicem for the extra damage, and SOTP/WHAO for might stacking.
4)Because it prevents players to try and focus fire the pet(assault can be used defensively)
5)Because it can bring the pet back on the target when pet AI get “confused” in path obstacles as such.
well Smoke Assault isnt better they mostly completly ignore the pet during the 2 sec taunt now the smoke field atleast could taunt and hold
one of the reasons they didn change it was because since smoke assault wasnt an F2 it scaled with Sic Em and was able if you poped it along with SoW to do about 27k om mobs and about 20k something on players which for many is a insta down from a single pet ability
its the same with the bristleback in the beta hense the change I agree they should change it back BUT that mean they will have to nerf the dmg of smoke assault bu like 40-50% because it was kinda broken but so hillariusly fun to watch
however much I love smoke assault the smoke feild is so much better in EVERYway combo field and invaun on demand

Yes they can. As soon as it becomes visible to you the enemy will see it aswell.
I am still amazed that this (dis)functionality made it through alpha, and still exists today, imagine if opponents could pick up conjure weapons how quickly would Anet drop everything to fix that?
well the kitten storm on ele forum would make them fix it in a few days at most and then they would buff conjured weapons to make it up to them (id guess by about 20-30%)

The skill we cast with F2 should be one of our choosing. An small popup screen when we click in the default skill that show us all the skills available to pets would be enough.
