Blabla.

I can confirm that it happened right after patching for the latest new build. I was pvping for hours prior to the patch and quickly logged for the new builds. I then logged right after and loading times randomly took longer, people were teleporting at random times, connection error message popped and occasionally not having guild/contacts/lfg information properly loaded most of the times. Restarting client seemed to help but it will still occur at any time.

It is still going on which drives me crazy and I had to check the forums to see if it doesn’t only occur to me and some of the players I asked.

I really hate to say this but I don’t think such comments/rants are coming from any of the real thief-only players but some players who haven’t played thief long enough or had enough practice or getting stomped and learn in the process.

Leave Thief as it is.

Thief does not need buff, instead, make other classes to work not as easy in pvp in an interesting way especially in teamfights to create more satisfying plays overall.

Yes, I feel your pain for having a class in your team that you regard as useless because Thief is indeed very punishing if not being played properly. In some cases, the team has to adjust their style to give the thief an opportunity to do his job.

One of the victims here. Seems like the game has this flawed automatic ban system. I got wrongly banned twice and had to wait for a very long time just to get a Response and then working on the process to lift the ban.

Seems like the game just refuses to have more players. I hope your friend got his account recovered.

I did manage to solve the problem by just purchasing the HoT key. So I still manage to log with all my characters still intact. Oh I did not know gems are available from retailers too, thanks ^^

So I decided to return to the game after 2 years of inactivity. Not only I found that my Access Key was disabled for no reason, I now find an issue with purchasing gems via the black lion store (Some random errors). Still, I wanted to give the game another chance so I just purchased the HoT expansion just so that I can log-in today instead of waiting for my tickets to be replied.

So is there any way to browse what the store offers from outside of the game? Is there even an option for people to purchase gems not via the ingame store?

Oipluckie, did you get any email when you got your account recovered? Or you can just log in straight away?

This is a little late but i got an email then had to like reset my password or something. But to all those that are getting their accounts back from supposedly botting or whatever I’d like to know the answer they gave you on your account. Mine was supposedly hacked which I highly doubt.

I don’t know but I have sent my bot appeal 2 days ago and haven’t got any reply yet. Congrats to you though, I’m happy for ya.

I am still worried here because I kinda view my case to be somehow special.

And this is why:

I have to live in China currently and I use a tunneling service called Battleping to play the game since the 3-days headstart. So I always allowed connection from both China (when I didn’t use my proxy) and West Coast (when I used proxy).

Do the team know about this? Should I send another ticket and explain?

Sometimes a case is easier to solve than another. Sometimes a player gives us all the info we need to verify ownership. Other times, the player gives us minimal info and requires a lot of “back and forth” to prove he or she really does own the account.

Sometimes, there are confusing details that we see behind the scenes. Like “That account was accessed from China, but nothing was stolen.” Those are edge cases, sure, but they require extra diligence on our case to try to find out exactly what happened, in part to provide the best help to the real account owner.

It’s true that some tickets can be resolved in a day, and others take more than a week. We do our best to handle “in the order received” and to make sure that agents who are expert in a particular area — fraud, account theft, technical support — handle the tickets they best can help resolve.

Should I send another ticket to clarify that I do currently live in China eventhough I am not a native citizen of China and have been playing since the 3-days headstart? I am just trying to help you with this confusion here. This is probably the problem why they doubt to free my account because I happened to be in China.

ps: I use a proxy to have a playable latency called Battleping.

I’m really disappointed that it appears this is the tone you chose to take with this matter. While you may mean other people aside from me, it feels like your tone is basically, “alright, be quiet, most of you are actually botters anyways.” It’s accusatory and insulting, more so than the actual ban itself. I understand your desire to control the damage, but understand that there are actual people on the other end. I feel like I was going about playing my game only to be called out and then treated like a criminal in prison who protests his guilt.

Now tell me, if you were in the same situation, how would you feel? How do you think many people feel when they look for someone with authority to make sense of it and feel like they’re being demonized – even when they know they’ve done nothing wrong?

I understand where you’re coming from, I really, really do. I’m sure there have been botters who have posted here claiming innocence. But don’t you understand how that comes across to those who are actually innocent? Do you not understand how it could be an incredibly insulting tone to take? I am not trying to attack you, I am simply trying to communicate my frustration about this to (most likely) the only person who will read it. I really hope you understand.

UPDATE: ACCOUNT RESTORED!

After close to 64 hours of being permanently banned, the status of my account was changed to ‘Hacked Account’ and then a few minutes later it was changed to ‘Access Restored’.

Support wrote that my account had been hacked and being used for botting. Then it was caught in the Bot Sweep and terminated. If that’s what really went down, I’ll probably never know… but I AM glad to have my account back.

Best of luck to everyone else suffering from this issue, I hope you all get your accounts back ASAP.

Just so you know, that’s precisely what happens in a lot of cases. Sort of the “Triple Whammy of Nastiness” in my opinion. Someone steals your account, usually steals your stuff, and then uses the account for botting and gets it banned.

So you may be sleeping and wake up to find all this mess has arisen while you slumbered. We do work very hard to get people back on their accounts as soon as possible, but it takes time, because security caution requires that we ensure we’re giving the account back to the real owner.

This is why if someone is banned unjustly, he or she should submit a ticket with as much info as possible, so the team can look into the account and, perhaps, restore it without having to request additional “proof of ownership.” Info can be found in the article on account security and with our tips on filling a ticket.

I have full control of my account, I am also a guild leader and there is no way my friends/guild members didn’t notice if my account was compromised to do such like botting/gold selling. I always talk when I come online, especially if my real life friends are up as well. So my question is, if I immediately submitted a ticket, will my ticket be reviewed orderly and accordingly? Or some others who just made the ticket later than me could get their account reviewed first?

Submit a ticket, wait and see. I am actually quite relieved that it wasn’t happening only to me, so this is definitely the system’s problem. Let this happened only this once A-Net, we do want our account back freed but also we do need you to avoid this kind of thing from happening again.

Hi, I just wanted to tell you that is the exact same thing happened to me few hours ago.
I was doing the event at Shelter in Cursed Shore, I got my legendary and am a guild leader of an active running guild called FATE in Sanctum of Rall. I would not even dare to do anything against the rules of conduct to jeopardize my assets and guild.

I did not use any macro, I did not even know what all those stuffs are about. I just play a lot of hours actively, I do use Teamspeak for voicechat communication, and I just got suspended an hour ago. Come on already, I have seen a lot of others are having the same problem here. Not only we have to wait for our account to be restored, but we actually deserved a compensation for this wrong autoban system.

China has the worst reputation when it comes to online gaming as we all know it. But unfortunately some of us here are not actually a Chinese citizen but we just had to be here for various reasons. My own personal reason for being here is that I have to work in here and since I’ve been playing MMO just like all of you, I don’t want to miss Guild Wars 2.

So before I even started to play I researched whether the game support connection from SEA/China or not and I was glad that it does. They go global. Now, I am just so dreadfully worried that something would happen to my account since I played from this country.

High CPU Usage

Isn’t high CPU usage is what everyone want? I would advise you to change your mobo because I had exactly the same problem with you but then everything is smooth now after I changed my legacy INTEL mobo. The next thing you need to be concerned about will be how to sustain with all the heat this game offers to your components. Hope it helps.

I would recommend you to use Game Booster 3 by IOBit. I started using that and it worked perfectly for me. Basically the program helps terminating unnecessary processes when you play your game.

But still, your specs are the most important of all. This program only helps you reducing the background processes to save you more resources for your game to perform.

Firstly I can’t give a further specific detail of my specs since I am currently of the country leaving my PC in my homeland.

Here is my specs:
i7 3.1Ghz
8GB RAM
ATI RADEON HD4870X2
Win7 Ultimate 64bit
Intel Mainboard PCIe 2.0

Okay, I know my GPU is very out-phased and it is well known for its heat issue. But I am only using a 18inc Samsung LCD monitor (1366×768 resolution). Therefore I am planning to get a RADEON 7970 GPU and replace my motherboard to ASUS SABERTOOTH z77 that supports PCIe 3.0 for a better overall performance.

So I’m not sure whether I have to get a 7970 or not because it is an expensive card and I probably need to get a better monitor.. I am just confused right now. I need some recommendation~

Well, I personally think otherwise. This game has much to offer at endgame.
I assume that more of those who just reached the level cap will come and complain about the same thing. So, it is either you expect this to be a perfect game for you or you seriously just need to take a break.

[GTX 670] Square Artifacts & Hard Crashes

This has nothing to do with the game nor your nVidia drivers. I had the same issue myself so I’m pretty sure it was your GPU being damaged.

Why didn’t it happen earlier? Because the card worked just fine until you played for long hours and your GPU might have been fried w/o you noticing it.

I would suggest you to stop playing for the meantime and reapply thermalphase or buy a cooling component for your GTX285.

Rush, don’t be rushy Bear with it and I think the SPvP and WvW are still pretty fun. Yes the game is named Guild Wars but that does not mean there is “GvGvG”. GvG can take in many forms and it doesn’t have to be Guilds against Guilds.

Anywho for a game called GUILD wars there really isnt much guild activities to do.

There is. I love claiming forts with my guild in WvW.

That, my friend, is obviously below the requirement this game demands. Even though you have a pretty good GPU, but your processor really worn the whole thing down and as you know that GW2 is known as a very CPU-demanding.
Fear not, you can still improve your FPS by terminating unnecessary background processes & etc (I myself have been using Gamebooster by IOBit to help me improve the game’s performance).
But just one thing, if you don’t install any extra cooling for your CPU, it may get up to 70 degree and above which caused you an auto shutdown due to overheating.

Right. So you assume that they were being “lazy” for making the zones squared off for you. Let me get this straight, take out the squared off and how do you divide each zones with the right zone transition triggers and such? You’re right that CPUs overheating is commonly followed with a force shut down to prevent it from frying your components. But oddly enough, I’ve found that the game’s engine is somehow unpredictable and unstable that in certain zones/instances it may push the CPUs usage way too much, which is why various issues occur.

There has been a lot of misunderstanding about this. Crashing issue is not always related to GPU but it is more into CPU heat related. Check your CPU temp as you play and make sure they don’t get beyond 70 degree, it may lead into crash/black screen/any following of repetitive buzzing sound with glitching graphic.
