So, with the new patch I decided to give PvP another go.
Solo queue seems like a good option if you want rewards and some good gameplay(I prefer 5vs5 over the random 10vs10 servers).
And I end up with a group with 2 other people, and 2 afkers who get kicked after a few minutes. You can guess how the match ended: 500-20.
I’m back to PvE untill ArenaNet realize they have a broken system.

ArenaNet, don’t you see why people died on those pads? Because it was too freaking hard to do it the way it was designed. Instead you fix the pads, and you do nothing else to the whole fractal.
I’m trying todo this on lv31 with Mossman camping my kitten , and a very coordinated group. We’re struggeling and not making it before todays daily reset.

How could such a bug be no priority over new content?
Last night I finally joined a borderlands after being in a queue for 1 hour and 45 minutes. I did a shout in map chat and people said they had a queue of about 10 minutes.
I always thought the philosophy of GW2 was that you could play it whenever you wanted, for how long you would like it. Waiting nearly 2 hours in a queue is way too long for the casual player.
Seriously, if these kind of bugs don’t get prioritized, I wonder what is your priority? Adding more WvW skill tree’s which are mostly useless?
EDIT: I would get if there’s things like Skill lag higher on the list, but I highly doubt that is ever seeing a major improvement…

I got Delusion today from the Mystic Forge after trowing in some rares.
To my surprise the item is directly account bound and does not contain any stats(I can select new stats).
It seems weird to me that I get account bound weapons from the Mystic Forge since the patch. Couldn’t Delusion get new stats so it wouldn’t be account bound?
I haven’t seen a topic on this subject in the 4 pages. And because Forum search is broken I’ll leave this just here.
In Citadel of Flame on path 1 the flame balls which you have to run through are often invisible.
This makes it very hard to run through, because the only way to see some of it is to hover over your cursor.
Please DO NOT move this topic to the Dungeon forums, no developer ever looks at that(except Colin a few days ago).
If anyone knows a temp fix for this issue, share it please. I heard alt tabbing, but that doesn’t seem to work, not in Windowed Fullscreen or Fullscreen.

The timed spawns are horrible. You have to be lucky with your crits, otherwise you might miss a very important spawn and you might get too many mobs/pulls/plunderers..
Anyway I’m sure they only test this with warriors(because I don’t see them playing often with other classes). Shame for classes like Ranger, which is an forgotten class anyway.
Just did the solo T4 on Thief for evon today.
I made a few mistakes so it was a close call in the end, but it should be possible with more margin.
No offense, but very impressive with that low DPS!

You are assuming everyone used the exploit to finish it which is wrong i know i didn’t.

Anyway I’ve just passed T4 Evon with a new buid. Basicly it’s berserker… which makes me sad. Lets go Kiel now.
This is a message directed at any developer. Please explain us how we are supposed todo the Ellen T4? With the “fix” of last night it became impossible. I’ve ran with multiple groups, duo’s and solo. I cannot get past 2 minutes left on the timer.
So either show us how it is supposed to be done, or fix this. Because it’s obviously broken.
The people who did it probably used the bug of yesterday.
So should I even bother with this content or should I just wait for a patch which nerfs this? If any developer could actually do this content either solo or in a group, I would be very suprised(looking at their livestreams, I don’t think they would survive a minute..)
So can we get any word of Arenanet on this? I know T4 is supposed to be hard, but it would be a huge design flaw if the only way todo it is by resetting mobs…
EDIT: I don’t think I lack experience in GW2, i’ve done every dungeon, event, fractals up to lv30 and run Arah without any pain. But this is the hardest content I’ve ever faced.

Personal opinion is personal opinion.
You are unlikely to enjoy every living story patch. Everyone has different tastes. What you think as downhill I see as uphill.
I have very much been enjoying the minigames and the activities sending us out into the world to do stuff.
It’s good some people do like it. And I’m a person who at least likes a few content in a new patch, but this one has nothing interesting to be honest. It doesn’t feel like they put much work into polishing it to be honest.

With the 2 latest Living Stories I was seeing a good progress in them. They actually had fun content in them.
Sadly I can’t say the same about this living story. I’m just here to give some feedback and hope ArenaNet will look at it and consider it for their next updates. Hopefully some people also share these opinions.
1. Ellen Kiel is just plain boring. There is no fun in her. She talks with this monotone voice(sorry Voice Actor) and lets us do all the stuff(she only is there to say a few words and then off she is). Even Thareane from the Personal Story is an more interesting character.
2. This update is basicly about 3 mini games and extending the previous living story for another 2 weeks. One of these mini games is just badly balanced and no fun at all.
3. Achievements are the worst in living story so far. They are not clear to players(Daily Achievements) and one locked achievement. Also they are a grind. For a player with a fulltime job many of these are out of reach. 2500 points in Southsun is doable if you like the game. But the Crystal Breaker achievement… You don’t even get another point when you push someone off bridges with the Wind Attunement, any other skill doesn’t do enough damage to a decent player who is back in their base within 10 seconds.
4. More griding. I’m talking about the Candidate Trials. Grinding the same event for 8 times(if you make it without dying) and horrible rewards. Why the useless lockpicks? If you wanted to create a sense of getting much loot, don’t do it with worthless grey items.
5. Minigame problems
Aspect Arena: Many skills are buggy, achievements are lame, doesn’t support teamplay and again no content which you can do with friends.
Southsun Survival: Fun game! But sadly there are overpowered Karka spawned by players who die early in the game, also they can just spam traps on your character making it loose all its items and die slowly. Again, this isn’t content which you can do with friends. How awesome would it be to do this with a bunch of Guild Members?
Anyway, I’m going to get back to grinding these achievements and trying to find a decent group to complete the Candidate Trials(which I totally don’t feel like doing)..
One last thing. No offense to the developers. But it has been said many times that there are 4 teams working on the Living World. If I count correctly 4 weeks back we had the Southsun Living World with the horrible dungeons. Is the same team responsible for this Living World update? It feels kind of the same with the bad dungeon and grinding.
It’s fixed for me now.
Same here. We just arrived at Jade Maw(lv28) and we got kicked, even before the actual server got kicked(30 seconds before that).

It is impressive and you don’t see a lot of people doing this in GW2.

Everything Remz said. I am a guild leader as well, and having the multi guild system is a pain. Suggestions on that, make being loyal to 1 guild a option for those who want to be apart of a community.. having many guilds might have seemed a great idea, but it defeats the idea of a guild and how can you really build a community this way. For those who want to bounce around (which gives leaders and officers a headache for many reasons) they can do so. But rather the current guild buffs that are offered… add a loyalty system.
The loyalty system can offer anything from movement speed increases and the longer one is loyal and representing to a guild and the more influence that person throws into the guild by being active and time they’ve been in the guild.. the higher % it goes.. and let it take many months of being active to reach the highest % of these perks.. like at the end of many months of being loyal to one guild one of the perks is a 15-20% passive movement speed guild buff. It scales up till it hits its cap.. and guild buffs and perks can start to decrease the longer they are away (not representing) or erase the buff entirely that they built up by all the time and work put into the specific guild. Add many buffs that guild leaders can choose to apply to all their users to appeal to everyone’s needs ie for pve and wvw for example.
And for the love of everything, when you join a guild and they accept.. for the first guild they join since getting the game.. why do they have to hit represent right then while you being the only guild in their list and they say “yep i wanna be in this guild accept” and they have to go that extra step to hit represent.. and for all the new toons they make and them being in just 1 guild.. having to ask if they are still even in the guild is a hassle and having them hit represent when they had not a clue that it took them out anyways.. and they think the guild is dead not seeing guild chat etc..
I hope they fix these issues… and give more of a reason to be in a guild besides the bounty etc.. give us something more to do.. guild specific raid events that actually reward the members so they feel the need to do it.. not give them the same or less than they could get from simply going and joining a dragon event etc.
A last online NEEDS to be implemented. Of course it couldn’t say with people opting to be invisible while playing…. but they don’t give influence to the guild in that way anyways right? I hope these things will be taken into consideration and put in “i hope”
I love the game,, but these are some big issues for anyone who has a guild.. and ultimately anyone who helps try to run one.

Let me introduce myself first. I’m Remz, Guild leader of Delicious Cupcakes[CUP] on EU server Desolation.
We’re a small guild(60-80 members) and aren’t hardcore players. Most of us have jobs or school, and we try to play the game as much as possible.
As my time as a Guild leader, I’ve seen many issues. Tonight we faced so many issues, that I decided to devote a topic on it, and create a ticket with support.
Lets first begin with the issues of a guild.
As a small guild, we don’t generate much influence as income. Influence is as precious as gold to us, and we try to get as many as we can, because we got a lot to spend it on.
When influence dissapears we all cry, and our cupcakes become rotten. So far I’ve faced these problems with influence:
-Influence not registering after buying it
-WvW influence compared to PvE influence is a big gap(as a PvE guild, this makes us sad)
-Larger Guilds “steal” members because they unlock Guild Missions much faster
-Guild Missions are way too expensive
Alright, so our main goal currently is to get all the Guild Missions ASAP. We really enjoy doing them with the guild and are rewarding. These are things why you join a guild. But we’ve got the following issues with them:
-Some targets are too hard to find with a group of 15-20 ppl
-Guild Treks are not rewarding enough
-Activating Guild Missions often doesn’t work. Map switching helps
-Many Guild Missions bug out, NPC’s don’t activate, Guild Trek locations don’t show up
-Due to bugs, losing progress and fun
Overal my experience with Guilds is bad in this game, compared to other MMO’s. Managing isn’t easy at all. Over the past few months I’ve dealth with these issues:
-Recruiting is a pain, because of the many guilds and multi guilding system
-Guild Chat doesn’t work often, or is delayed with many minutes
-Guild Bank isn’t available about 25% of the time
-MOTD is way too short and the window doesn’t allow for moving.
-Ranks are too simple. Many other MMO’s have advanced ranking systems, this system feels really standard and plain. Managing is a hard job.
-There is no “last online” column. We now have to depend on the Unknown status of people
-Guilds don’t stand out. You cannot recognize other guilds easy.
-Mailing Guild Members is impossible. You get blocked after 2 mails(during kick rounds I want to mail people whom I kick. But I’m not spending a whole day waiting for the spam filter to go off)
-Kicking players/leaving players show up in logs as: …. has left the guild
Anyway, there are a lot of issues.
Lets go on to the suggestions I have. I’ve posted this in suggestions to share my thoughts, and not to submit bug reports(although they are a big part of it).
Suggestions
-Make the MOTD bigger(scrollable)
-Give us a Wall to write on. Info like Teamspeak servers, websites could go onto this.
-Better ranking systems with more permissions. I would like new members to take out stuff from the guild bank, but not all at once, only like a few items each time.
-Guild Emblem should be an image. I would like a Cupcake, sadly this is not possible with the current emblems.
-Mass Guild E-Mail. Give us better ways to communicate with guild members ingame.
-Last Online column. Easy to spot inactive members
-Nickname option. Let us nickname members, so we can recognize them easily when they are running an Alt.
-Popup box when kicking a Guild Member(because it’s next to Add Friend, you easily misclick and kick them)
-Make Guild Missions more rewarding towards the guild. Give us influence boosts on them(once a week).
-Permission to stand out as a guild leader. I would like to see something as a commander tag, but only for Guilds. So that when I’m leading my guild through a PvE/WvW event or Guild Missions, that me or my officers are highly visible other other members.
As it’s late, this is all I can come up with.
I’m sure other people have great suggestions aswell.
Please reply with your issues and suggestions! Lets stay on topic and discuss about guilds and their exisiting functionality. Please refer from placing replies like I want GvG or features that don’t help towards managing guilds or current functionalities.
Every single time we try guild missions we have some issue that prevent us from completing them. Trek locations being non-existent, unable to activate the bounty targets, killing the target and it not counting, people unable to loot chest at the end of rush. When we activate a mission the guild window goes nuts, all upgrades disappear and we can not list more as well being unable to activate further upgrades that have been built. I am afraid I don’t have any screenshots to show this, however i will start recording all mission to show just how bad they are, this needs fixing ASAP…
Same issues here today. I’m going to devote a new topic about these issues and suggestions.

I have a guard named Cupcakeses. Unfortunately SoR based, otherwise this would be a win. Random side note: Munkeytoto, don’t scrap your ranger! They may not be the most versatile, but they can be very useful in dungeons as buffers/dpsers.

I’ve just logged in (20-2-2013 @ 17:57 CET), and noticed that my e-mail is showing up as my account name. I’m not aware if anybody else can see this(guild members/friends), but I find this a pretty big privacy issue. Everyone ingame could see my e-mail now by just inviting me to a party or adding me as a friend. Please fix this.

I’ve been wondering for some time now when the mobile app is going to get released.
I found this article I read before the launch telling us that it would be soon after the launch.
Could ArenaNet give us a better specification that just “soon”? I feel like soon should be within 3 months after the launch, but I’m not sure what ArenaNet’s thoughts about soon is.
Please don’t tell us you know “ArenaTime”(hint to ValveTime, google it).

Put your Sound Quality slider just 1 tick back, DO NOT USE THE HIGHEST SOUND QUALITY.
I’ve had this bug since the launch of the game, and it crashed me out WvW every 10 minutes. Have been playing lots of WvW by just putting the sound quality a tick lower.

Ranger. Do you see the word Range in that? I don’t see sword and greatsword as a ranged weapon. Some people actually pick their class on the decision if it’s ranged or not. I don’t like up and close combat, I prefer fighting from a distance.
Longbow just doesn’t do enough damage because you can’t kite mob while you are in combat(mobs are faster than you). Shortbow was good untill they nerfed it.
And what about Ranger not being a damage class? What are they? They aren’t a tank, support class. Of course they have their pets, but these are useless right now. If you take anything else than a tank pet(bear) it will die within seconds. Your bear pet might be good enough to tank 1 or 2 mobs, but more than 2 is just impossible.
So yeah, I suppose ranger should be a damage class, as they do not have anything else to really focus on. It’s a really generic class.
Also the ranger should have a higher DPS because they don’t have real utility skills to break out of combat. Almost all classes get a skill to boost their movement speed to get away, rangers only have a 10% passive boost, which doesn’t help in combat.
As last I would like to say something about you. Please don’t flame people with “WoW Baby” or refer to that game. Many people don’t come from that game. Heck, I haven’t ever played it. So next time you start a topic, don’t start off with flaming people who enjoyed another game and compare it to Guild Wars 2.
If this was intended, why would they put in the patch notes this:
Crossfire: Increased casting time by 40 milliseconds. This was done to fix some glitches in the animation that caused problems with this skill.
Shouldn’t we read: This was done to fix the balance between the other weapons.
No, it says that it was a glitch in the animation. Changing a animation shouldn’t have so much impact on the gameplay. I remember them saying some day that the running animation can have a huge impact on the gameplay, that’s why they fine tweaked it. The shortbow felt perfect, this change just broke the feeling, and fixed the visual. What’s more important, visual or gameplay? A lot will know the answer.
If this is true(I haven’t tested it yet), then it’s a big deal. Some classes can’t stay alive for long underwater, due to their squishyness. I wouldn’t like it to wait for your health to regen after each mob because you just can’t evade them(even ranged)
I am sure this bug has been reported many times before, but I want to make it clear how annoying this can be.
When you stow your pet, you have good reason for it. Think about jumping puzzles, a great deal in GW2. Or think about just exploring.
My pet mostly walks about 10 meters a side of me, which makes my agro range about double of other characters. When I stow him this wouldn’t be a problem.
Today I had to walk trough a level 15 area(being level 80). Because my pet kept on agroing mobs, I was slowed down and damaged much. It probably took me twice as long to finish that distance.
The worst part about this is that your pet reappears when you take falling damage. This is just weird. Why would you want to get your pet out at falling damage? Many Jumping Puzzles have falling damage as something you cannot prevent. My pet just keeps on popping up.
I remember doing the jumping puzzle where you have to carry a bomb to a chest, but you cannot get attacked by the birds, or the bomb will blow. This jumping puzzle has a lot of parts where you take damage from falling(eggs will heal you up). The next thing you know is that your pet is attacking/damaged, causing you to run much slower, making some jumps impossible. Breaking the agro from your pet is impossible in some situations, this means you failed the attempt and have to suicide to try again.
This is just one of the many examples I could give.
I urge you all developers to fix this ASAP. The difference between Rangers and other classes is so big when it comes to fun, this is one aspect which could help Rangers have more fun in their class, because this is annoying us.
Recruiting for a guild is made impossible by this. After 2 or 3 recruits you get blocked, and there is no way to continue recruiting.
Please fix this or make recruiting easier. It’s hard to get new people because everyone is in a guild, or people don’t read chat(if you aren’t blocked already)
Could we get a official response from a developer on this case? I feel that the ranger class is underpowered due to this “bug”.
First of all I haven’t even noticed any graphical glitch pre-patch. All I’ve noticed now that the quickening is “bugged”, it isn’t boosting the bow like previously.
I had trouble killing level 80 mobs today because I got humped by 3 mobs, previously I would just line them up, burst away and let my pet take some damage. Right now I have trouble killing just 1 mob when 2 other mobs are on me aswell. I need a lot of dodging to avoid their slow/stun spells, also I need to focus some damage on the other mob, but because this is slower with the shortbow now it takes more time to down him, which gives the mobs more time to kill me/stun/slow.
I even rally’d today because my pet killed a mob in a pack of 3.
I don’t feel like playing another weapon, the shortbow was fine as it was, I enjoyed playing with it. I don’t think we should be forced to play other weapons because one just got nerfed to the ground.
Anyway, I think I’ll focus on a new character until there is some response from a developer. Just spend all my money into a good shortbow, which was useless after a day.
So I ask this of you: Either confirm this is correct and you won’t be changing it, or confirm that this is a bug, and that you will change it in the next patch(no need to wait multiple patches)
In my opinion this change broke gameplay, while the so called graphical glitch didn’t. If it did, please give us examples.

lv 65 Human Ranger with Shortbow and Longbow.
I can perfectly fine solo any mob/veteran anyway on the maps, it’s just that the undead in the personal story take too long to kill, and they spawn with way too many.
The story itself was fine, and I did enjoy it somehow, but I don’t enjoy killing loads of mobs which are hard to kill(HP wise)

I just want to address my concerns about the personal story here.
ArenaNet always advertised that Guild Wars 2 was also for the more casual players, player that cannot go on for hours because they don’t have the time.
Today I logged on and started leveling a bit, when I heard that a dragon(lv65) would spawn in 35 minutes. I thought I had enough time todo a personal story lv62. I got in and the following happend:
-Talk to several NPC’s
-Go to a cave
-Kill some mobs untill x area
-Nothing at x area, go to the next area and kill mobs on your way
-Theres people at the area, but now you have to defend them because there’s 4 waves of Undead(about 10+ each wave, playing on my own…)
-Last wave had also a few veterans in them.
-After the waves, you find out theres more people to be rescued
-Go in cave, kill more mobs untill you reach the people
-Escort the people to the exit, killing many mobs
-Exit is blocked, escort them to another exit, killing many mobs again
-There’s a boss at the exit, kill him and his 6 veteran mobs.
This took me about a hour… way to long and not entertaining to be honest. I liked the personal stories untill about lv55 where Lion’s Arch got overrun by undead. Fromout there things got too much the same. It’s all about killing packs of undead, nothing more. The personal stories take way to long to be entertaining, noone enjoys killing the same mobs for a hour.
Also it isn’t rewarding. Doing this at level 65 scales you down to 62, which makes you weaker. But the rewards don’t scale up. I gained about 5% exp from killing mobs, and another 25% exp from the quest, and some crap lv62 green weapon.
Anyway, I ended up being frustrated about the personal story, and it extending each time when you were thinking: finally, the end. I’m fine with killing mobs, but don’t spawn them in packs of 10-20, on your own.
After all I missed the spawn of the dragon by about 20 minutes, the next spawn is at 2:40 my time. Guess what I’ll be doing then? Sleeping.
The next time I’ll just sit and wait for the dragon to spawn, as it is too dangerous to do something else because you might miss it.
See this as a sort of rant, but also take this as a suggestion. Look into balancing the Personal Story at higher level, and please give us back the fun meter you had in the beta. This wansn’t fun at all, the same goes for the previous Personal Stories.
