I was also having this issue via Optus cable (Aus).

I can confirm Betternet VPN also allowed me to finish patching (Thanks Reptile).

However, I can’t confirm if it installs any malware when you install it. I installed it, patched and then uninstalled it.

You are welcome! :-) From what I know, it’s malware free, but links to ad’s on both the PC and IOS version. No reasons not to uninstall when you have patched though.. you can always download again if you need too. :-D
I understand the frustration people are feeling. Betternet is easy to use as a work around, but I hope Anet get this issues resolved soon.

I just used a VPN (Betternet) and I’ve patched ok. I’d suggest others try the same. Betternet is free too… Good luck all!

I’m having the same issue.. also Australian through OPTUS cable.

I guess the difference is, you don’t have to buy the mats. Over time they will drop. I"m not saying this is fast by any means, but if GW2 had started with this, and you never had a pre drop, you might have one just by playing the game.

Again with this update… I can’t download the last file…. this sucks…… Very frustrating…

- What troubleshooting steps have you already tried? Eddited Host file as in some posts here.

Hi My friends… yep.. I know the story.. Seems Optus is on it.. I can’t get to any online server really.. I think I do have some good news for you though. While looking for info on the ports GW2 uses, I found this little work around:
Make a short cut to Gw2.exe but add to the Tagest feild “/clientport 80”
To make that clearer, in my case its:
“C:\Guild Wars 2\Gw2.exe” /clientport 80
Port 80 is not the best to be connecting through, but I am getting through till they fix this mess….

I had a look for this, but didn’t see it….
I bought a couple of tier 3 racial armors for glory and gold in PvP, kinda hoping it would give me the achievement for having it. that didn’t happen, but I knew there was a change coming.. so waiting till then. I just spent my 6 transmutation points and change my thief’s armor to tier 3 human.. and still nothing…
not I’m a bit disappointed.. while the armor was cheaper in PvP it was still 60 gold AND a lot of glory.. I though the glory would make up for it.. so took the dive and got two sets… Anyone know it I’m meant to be getting jibbed like this, or maybe it’s a bug?…….

Yep.. same same.. I’ve stopped running the event.. it’s just a wait of time now until there’s a chance to get a core at every knight you down like these’s meant to be…

Yep.. I couldn’t care less about having a leader board… I do care about the time it took for me to level up my FotM,.. I did high 40s when I was leveling up to 40 because that’s what my friends were doing. I also leveled up an alt.. I’m not sure what to say really… I feel like something has been taken away from me. Maybe it’s the feeling of just achieving something for the time I put into it? I never got a ascended chest drop, and have only had 2 FotM weapons drop.. but I did feel like, within my self, I had gained something from making the time, around my busy life to do some long, long runs… I can’t just sit at home any play for a few days straight to get my levels back… I have work and IRL commitments… Summing up, I guess I feel crap now…

Agree.. I’m loosing lots of sleep trying to get all these acheivments done… I know I don’t have to, and it’s my choice and all… but I’m a bit of a colector.. Last set was the 1st ever acheive I didn’t get.. and that was ‘light up the darkeness’.. Just not worth it, when the normal kill took hours and…. that thing called ‘real people have lag’ and bad sight lines ended up making even that not fun… (the idea was great… but.. yer… nuff said)
OK.. back on topic.. even the time constrains on 13 zones of invasion I almost missed, not becasue I didn’t spend many more then13 hours playing, but because, the time I was on.. there was one zone that refused to be invaded till yesterday! Close one that..
At this speed, if I want to tick all the boxes (and yes, I have been neglecting ‘playing the game’ a bit to do this.. and forget WvW..) it starts to feel more like work.
Still love the game, but I can feel that edge come in. Guess I’ll see what this next set is like.

I kinda agree with the OP, though.. I’ was never one for rainbows either… My feedback on anything with footprints, is that I would love to see an option to toggle some effects off or on. This way, if I’m in any form of PvP, I don’t leave a nice trail so my opponent can follow the dots, find me and have a nice try at killing me. I know I’m currently having a chuckle at the expense of my trail leaving victims….

Just my thought anyhow… I might bother with Legendries if I could make them less plastic toy like.. but my main is a Necro… so I just stick with Howler… and think about one day crafting my Bifrost and skinning it with another scythe… :-\

I would have though, as part of a rollback, that they would have reset the password at the same time. It seems this didn’t happen, and the hackers took advantage of this.
If she had reset her password to her old one, I’d say, well.. bad choice, but as she could change it, and submitted a ticket about being unable to change… I’d think a rollback, now that she can protect her account would be warrented?

You should create a support ticket. Anet a usually fairly fast at doing these things. Just make sure, if it’s reset, that you get the password changed at the same time.. if not before… then you shouldn’t find yourself in my friends position…

A friend of mine was recently hacked and lost all her Items / armor / gold.
I though she had been hacked, even before she told me, as she was logged in at a time when she would normally be sounds asleep (different time zones).
She sent in a tickets, and did get her account reset, BUT she logged in with her old password and found that she couldn’t change it. She sent in a ticket about that, but, in the mean time, the hacker struck again and she lost her stuff again. I don’t even think she had that much stuff. She mainly WvWs. I do know she had 4 set’s of exo armor- one T3 Human armor and another with Profain skin? (Gem armor).
She waiting till she could change her password, then asked for a reset now she can protect the account, but she is told that only one reset is allowed?

I think she is disheartened enough to stop playing.. and that would be a real shame in my eyes. Is there someway this can be reviewed?

(I am lacking some details.. but I’m just trying to help a friend in the game…)

+1000,000,000 to this. GW1 handled templates.. I was surprised there was nothing in GW2.

Nope.. I foolishly spend $100 on jems and spent it all on crates. No skin.. not even a mini.. not that I really wanted one. That’s it for me. I have 8 each of the perma harvesting tools.. no more RNG. It’s a bit sad I feel put off from playing this game now. I feel like I’ve just woken up just in time to stop a gambling addiction. This kinda is really isn’t it? Real money gambling for a jackpot of a skin. Just feel like playing Mech Warrior Online where i know when I pump $$ into it, I get what I pay for.
Guess I"m just feeling disappointed in both the game and myself. :-\

Confirmed. I am having the same issue.

Gah…. I mean.. all looked good until I realized that the lfg site that I only found a few weeks ago (read: can easily find groups and have fun doing dungeons almost anytime) will become next to useless…
