GW2 can be a great game if they just change a few things.
Add instanced world bosses (make them a type of guild mission)
Bring the holy trinity to GW2 (implement it through new profession or new weapons)
@OP, I agree with everything you said but I would also like to add..
1)flying mounts that can take you to new far away lands.
2) Some form of holy trinity
3) Raids
4) If raids aren’t possible instead make a different 5 man for each lvl of FoTM that way you will truly feel as though you are progressing.

What Necro build are people using for fractals these days?
In several GW2 Dev interviews there has been a lot of talk about 2014 and new content to come. What do you think is in store for us in 2014? Or rather what change or addition to the game would you want in 2014?

I think they would be better if they were instanced. I personally think that Teq and Wurm could be Gw2’s way of introducing “raiding” content.
GW2 would be a much better game. Implementing this would allow for a much greater variety in pve encounters.
IMO this could be implemented several different ways…You could…
a) Add two new classes and call them Heavy and Priest or whatever names you fancy.
b) You could add new items…Add a new type of shield called “Super Shield” or “Kite Shield” and when you equip this weapon the skills you have are Gw2 interpretations of taunts and aggro holding abilities. It doesn’t even have to be a shield this is a fantasy game so a tank doesn’t need a shield just as long as there is an option to hold aggro I will be pleased. Same for healing add a fancy new type of 1H/2Hand weapon that gives the option to heal individual players with a dot or an AoE heal. As well as the option to remove conditions on players. And to compensate the notion that everyone will be mad that groups will now require the trinity you could make these two weapons available to every class so that everyone has the same opportunity to get into a group.
On a side note I wish they would allow larger groups to form for WvW purposes and world bosses but that’s just my two sense.

What runes do you use as minion master in pvp? I’ve tried everything from superior rune of the orge, fighter and guardian. But I’m not sure which is the best out their, or at least what is the most readily used.

never take zerker on the weapon because you lose one of the most stats for crit dmg there unless you plan on all out zerker

Can knights weapons only be acquired through crafting or buying from the TP?
If you’re running an Altruistic build and I use knights armor…should my weapons also be knights Or should they be zerker or something else?

Yeah but they put so much effort into this temporary content when they should be perfecting the old content. Or at the least do us a favor and leave the dungeon, because that was a phenomenal dungeon to say the least.
Anet with the flame and frost living story event you produced what I think is easily the best dungeon in game. Why go through all that work just to remove it? I understand it’s part of the story, but come on, you should have left the dungeon there and changed the rewards.

This is true but it’s not like there not creating content so instead of creating something mundane like a living story that will only be released for x amount of time why not release something more permanent like a new pvp map. I also feel like at this day in age it really wouldn’t require them emptying there pockets in order to come up with a new map but then again I don’t know what goes on in the confines of ANET.

So you want to play keg brawl on foefire?
I suppose that is one way of putting it. But it’ll be cool, everyone protecting the orb or flag carrier and trying to sneak into the other base avoiding trebutchet attacks. And I agree with the other guy who said it should be multiple levels, that way there can be multiple entree points into the bases. I think my idea will be a pvp that requires team work communication and ultimately fun which I think is something the current repetitive pvp maps we have now lacks.
I don’t know why its so hard to compile a rankings its not like every other game has one that you can just use. Heck use the ELO system if you have to.

You are correct but it’s definitely more exciting than the garbage we have now. It’s also something so simple and obvious, which means it will probably never be implemented.

Honestly It blows my mind when I consider that they could still fix this, but don’t even feel like they want to open a dialogue. I think the only explanation is they are utterly incompetent or they are making GW2 for themselves only.
I’m not sure if this is what you mean, but in spvp does anyone else notice the fact that no one talks at all! It’s mindless, I don’t get it this is the only game I have ever played where there is no communication among players in pvp. The community just doesn’t want to talk. Mostly because this game has attracted a rather young player base.

This is not your game. In gw2 you don’t have a forced gear grind, you play because you enjoy it.
No you play to get skins which may as well be a gear grind.
Yup I’m having the same problem which is why I just do tournaments.
I agree that the combat system sucks in this game. But I still play it cause its free.
Hey, I’m going to make this brief and pretty broad. But I have an idea for a new spvp map, I was thinking that you could do a capture the flag. Just have two bases on a large map where the teams need to invade the other base and capture the opposing teams flag. Except the we can make it an orb and call it something like “Sanctuary Orb” either way the name of the orb isn’t really important. But while running with the orb you are slowed and however you are given 4 different abilities while holding the orb, and you also have access to your utilities. One skill can be a 3 second sprint, another can be protection, another can be a heal both with long cooldowns, and the 4th can be to toss the orb to a friendly target. So not only is will this spvp match be capture the flag it will be hot potato. And maybe in the base you can have a trebuchet. But either way this is just food for thought.
I hope the community reads and likes this idea, I also hope the devs like this idea and implement it in the game.

if im fighting a boss that i cant melee depending on his attacks ill use scepter/shield or focus, i prefer focus just for the 5 skill
also for gs/staff im guessing you mean for levelling, id say focus on honor traitline for shouts/2h mastery/pure of voice (by far the best traitline we have, it never leaves my build)
Gotcha, by the way why are maces looked poorly upon? They seem like a good tool for healing.
a mistake nearly all new players make is limiting themselves to only 2 weapon sets, its much better for everyone (the people your partied with) if you bring every weapon (except possibly 1h sword and mace) be
edit: forgot to menntion gs/staff is the absolute best weapon set for levelling

Hello, I am lvling a guardian now, and I’m not sure what to expect when I hit 80. I’m relatively new to the game. Played for a bit after launch on a necromancer than returned recently and now my necromancer has full exotics and all that other good stuff. So now I’m looking to work on the guardian. However I’m not sure what builds are viable at 80 and what weapon combos are the best, I’ve searched the forums but there are so many different opinions all over the place and I really just need a general answer. Basically my question is, what kind of build would a guardian use for a greatsword? and what kind of builds are those guardians that in dungeons are always healing and buffing people using? I understand the way I approached my question is vague but I know very little about the guardian as I am still learning the game.
In pvp can you still acquire the deathly bull shoulderpads?
I got the jetpack on the first run. I got a question though, so 12 days does that mean this dungeon will no longer be available in 12 days? And what mini pet drops from it?

the fear is good but it should fear everyone in a certain radius around us.
I’ve only been playing the game for a month of so. And I’m just curious, when you are in a downed state does it take forever to switch targets? is that a bug?
