Hi guys,
I have started wvw roaming again recently and updated my old build
http://bit.ly/1ZF5OxP
Just wanting any suggestions or tips you may have regarding its viability
With regard to shortbow celestial stat’s with sigil of earth and air do a good job of complimenting the mixed stat’s on cele and bring shortbow power damage to a descent level
My favourite roaming build uses shortbow/greatsword and 0/6/4/0/4 for this setup
I had this same problem on my zerker Medi guard the other day too
I didn’t come onto the forums and complain I just loled and kept on playing because I believe it is balanced, the only pet that should be able to outlast your dps/cleave is bear or drake in which case you should not focus the pet but finish the ranger
There are plenty of ways to mitigate the lease lick wounds if you aren’t in down state as well

Hi Guys
Recently I’ve been trialling Medi guard in pvp but have been unable to decide between these two weapons paired with Sceptre/Focus.
I have been using 0/1/6/1/6 trait spread and find greatsword is invaluable in team fights but hammer is better for smaller skirmishes.
I know that hammer is used more in esl matches but the was interested what other guardian players experiences were.
Thanks for your responses

Hi Rangers,
For a while I have been seeing a few different players being quite successful running all melee ranger builds e.g. G’s/s:x builds. A few of the builds have been running full zerker which I don’t really think suits my play style, mostly running beastmaster builds in the past.
So just wondering if any body could suggest a starting point in terms of gear and traits which would provide decent survivability but also enable me to not just bore my opponents to death ????
Regards roeore
From my limited testing, ten rounds per amulet (rampager, carrion and rabid), the spirits critical hit chance is independent to the rangers. This means your Celestial amulet does nothing for the frost spirits call lightening ability. To raise its critical chance you’d need to give it fury and spotter maybe

spvp, wvw + dungeons
This is similar to the spvp build i have been using recently. Ive tried to even out the toughness/vitality ratio to give a good level of both and it uses exotic gear so it should not be too hard to put together. It is low on stun breaks but part of the success of this build is timing your evades well and using RaO at a good time to put as much pressure on your opponent as possible. You’ll have quite good fury uptime which along with the SB quick fire rate will help you proc the on crit sigils
Spiders are a good choice as they provide cover conditions for your own and they are quite reliable when utilising empathic bond. If you prefer drakes which can combo on your fire and ice field with their blast finisher you could pull the 2 points out of marksman and put them into Nature magic for natures protection or strength of spirit and change your adept skirmishing trait for agility training. You could also remove frost trap for lightening reflexes for the extra stun break if you require

Would be good if we could get the passive effect from the enlargement trait in nature magic and then still have it proc the stability and damage increase when we reach 25%. Could almost be our little version of adrenal health.
Similar to Ghotistyx.6942 i’ve been running chill on my ranger
Since sigil of ice has gone from on critical hit to on hit it opens up the ability for you to utilise it with a bm bunker
this is what ive been using
As far as I know you need the trait signet of the beast master for the stability from signet of the wild to affect you

Hi
Thanks for the quick reply
With Fury this build would have a uptime uptime of 50 % crit chance and 30-40 extra crit damage depending on where i put the last ten trait points. Do you believe this will still result in poor damage output?
Thanks
Roeore
Hi Guy’s
As we all know this trait buffs the great sword and spear with a 5% damage increase and grants fury on hit. I was thinking about the glitch where longbow was granting permanent fury which seemed to buff the longbow to a more usable position.
Seeing as longbow is a Two Handed do you think that this trait affecting longbow would make greatsword/longbow power build more viable by being able to trade some precision for toughness or another stat?
Look forward to your opinions

hiya Hyjaxx
You talking about your report 331 build still being viable prompted me to read the old thread. I have been interested in making a Direct Damage version of your build so have been playing around with the calculator just wondering what your opinion would be on this build any improvements you can see?
Hope its not too much trouble

Hi Guys,
Just wondering if anyone has been able to come up with a decent wvw build using this mix of armor set. I’d be interested in doing small group roaming and maybe a midrange zerg build. I have searched this forum and google but couldn’t come up with anything.
Regards Roeore
I have also had this problem with the gauntlets of madness id really like to be able to choose knights stats or if not be able to have hand wraps instead
Any word on this

Roeore
Just wondering if theres any updates on this playstyle as i find it very interesting and im looking to get into dungeon runs on my ranger

Into the mists Calc
Hi guys just looking for some contsructive criticism in this build.
Build Craft

Into the Mist

I have tried running a mostly zerker plus valkyrie in dungeons but running pugs and a limited knowledge of the dungeons has lead me to needing something a bit more survivable.
Id also like to try running this build in pug zergs to see how it fares. I know ranger isnt optimal in these environments but i just cant have another main as i like the ranger professions “feel”
I like this traits allocation 20/30/20/0/0 as it enables me to quickly change to a trapper build if need be
Kind Regards

Hello Guys,
Just wondering if an apothecary trapper build is possible?
I’ve come up with an outline http://tiny.cc/rlfw1w
Pick it to pieces for me i’d mostly be roaming in wvw and modifying for running with pug zergs
Thanks Roeore

Hi Guys,
Just wondering if you can provide me with any feed back on my condition well build i want to be able to sit in the middle of a zerg group and provide condition damage with the staff/scepter and provide utility/support with wells.
Any feed back would be greatly appreciated.

Hi I’ve been using a build based off of Valroth’s hybrid beastmaster
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/ranger/Hybrid-BeastMaster-GS-SB-build-guide/first
But I use clerics armour with a mixture of cavalier and knights trinkets. My stats are close to what Valroth mentions in his build but when in a zerg I swap to axe and horn and take the relative traits in skirmishing and wilderness survival to improve those weopons.
I find I have enough sustain to be on the front line when pushing in a zerg and support with horn and muddy terrain. You also have the option to use the GS for escapes. I also switch to drakes for their toughness and AOE.
I’m not sure if this is what your looking for but it is possible to do descent damage with cleric armour and provide some group utility
Also I’m tier four so this may not be entirely relevant to higher tier gameplay
Hey Valroth,
I really like the look of your build.
I just finished getting cleric armor (takes me a while casual player) so dont really want to re grind for new stuff. Any ideas on what runes, trinket jewellery I could use to balance out my stats?
Regards Roeore
Hi Guys
Im a casual player that has nearly leveled a necro to lvl 80 and am starting to consider my options for endgame. As i have other commitments i would like to see if any of the necromancer archetypes e.g. conditionmancer or powermancer perform better in the different aspects of the game pve, wvw. I dont really have time to collect multiple sets for her :P
I realise ther can never be one OP build but a good all rounder is what im after
Cheers
Roeore
I would just like to commend you on your success
I wish i was half as good as you on my BM/Heal build
You give me something to aspire towards
Thanks
Hey Guys,
Just wondering weather this build would be more suited to wvw conditions or the post 14/12 juggermancer build on the last pages of the thread
regards roeore
Hello Everyone,
Current Build/Trait Selection http://www.guildhead.com/skill-calc#mVoc0zmzMoMmxmMoGgMGxG9MMazRqcs
I’ve recently gotten to lvl 80 on my ranger and tried out wvw
I really enjoy using traps and applying conditions during wvw combat and am just wondering what armour and runes other rangers with a similar build use.
Also is there any changes I could make to my build to maximise my damage or survivability for wvw combat
Thanks in Advance
