- When I decided to grind for the money to buy some legendaries out of the TP then they added new Legendaries so the old ones become obsolete. And the new ones made only by crafting. I despise crafting
I stopped there. The problem is that you aren’t thinking rationally. Anet can’t do much to fix that.
So you might have some old legendary and my statement hit your pride.
Yes, I feel cheated by A-net becasue of introducing the new legendaries when at the beginning they said the legendaries are the ultimate goal.
Truth is that based on horizontal progression only Anet will lose more and more people. They can’t create content that would be enjoyable forever.
This is right. The mastery system they created is not on optional horizontal progression but it is a mandatory progression. The most simple way to see this is that now players over lvl 80 are showing their (infinite) numbers of mastery points and not their max level.
Now being lvl 80 falls in the same category with the lvl 1-79. Besides the fact that it is quite a griding to get to the max level without the boosters, tomes and scrolls for a new player, now it is not even important anymore becasue you don’t show off your mastery points.
If A-net wanted to make optional horizontal progression then they should have kept the lvl 80 as a goal and not show off the mastery points people have. I am sure with the new expansions (aka boxed Living Stories) they will increase the number of masteries. Imagine the cruel psychological hit a new player will get when he will see a player with 1240 mastery points next to their names instead of lvl 80.
No, I don’t play GW1 anymore and the only thing i do nowadays in GW2 is the Log-in Wars. I lost interest in this game long time ago when they turned it into an Achievement Hunting game. I follow it closely tho through blog reports, news, forum but I am not getting involved into it anymore. It is really not worth it for me.
I started playing GW1 at 4 years after the release. I had bought a complete pack with all 3 campaigns and the expansion.
When I started playing and I got to lvl 20 very fast I asked around “What is the ultimate goal in this game?” And everyone answered “It is the GWAMM tittle”.
I started to hunt that title and it took me 2 years and 7 months to get it and the game didn’t change at all. I have had the feeling I am catching up with everyone who was a veteran in that game and in the end I did.
I was not feeling I am getting further and further away from the ultimate goal like I do now in GW2 where i ahve trouble finding the ultimate goal..
And from my knowledge, GW1 is still going strong with no changes at all.
Can anyone explain what is the ultimate goal in this game because every time I am setting up one for myself, A-nets messes it up
- When I hunted the map completion star I had to go through the WvW and play with 5FPSs in those zergs so I can just get those stupid PoIs and vistas. Now they are not included into it anymore.
- When I was glad I got all my traits open, they thought to add more traits and use skill points and money to get them. And now they just open them like before.
- When I decided to grind for the money to buy some legendaries out of the TP then they added new Legendaries so the old ones become obsolete. And the new ones made only by crafting. I despise crafting
- When i thought my character became a Hero after killing the biggest threat in Tyria: Zaitan, A- nets brings up a silvary psyco who raises up another “Biggest” threat: Mordemoth. What will it be next? Another (race) psyco rasing up another “Biggest” threat? Ao we have 5 races, one was, 4 more to go?
- When I thought that reaching lvl 80 with multiple characters was my ultimate goal, A-nets throws in new leveling : the mastery system which makes all my lvl 80’s just a waste of time becasue now I have to get exp for more then my number of lvl 80 to get some elite specialization. So now having lvl 80 written next to your name make you a noob again when others show off their 134 mastery points (aka the new infinite level)
What will be next? A secondary elite specialization with a new zone to grind for new mastery points? I guess so.
and the list can go on.
I am sorry, but no matter how A-net will describe their game, for me it is not an evolving game but a trickery for a time waster where every goal you set up for yourself will be crushed down sooner of later.
They said they don’ t introduce new gear treadmill, but instead they introduced something much worse: grinding millions of exp for illusionary goals which will be shattered with the new expansion because you will never ever reach the ultimate best but instead you will return back to your noob status just feeling better then a super noobs (aka new players)
(edited by Ronah Lynda.2496)
OH…. this is an awesome suggestion. and it fits the Log in rewards System. I mean, they give us the option to choose tomes to level up our characters, so giving some mastery points will be really in the same category of rewards.
Of course, there will be a warning text when selecting it like “you can’t use this points because you don’t have the HoT expansion. The points will be added to your account and will be available only when you upgraded to GW2 HoT” for those account who don’t have the expansion
It seems A-net has introduced the real action combat mode in GW2 With the recent update. Now it works very very similar to Dragon nest or Warframe.
You need to do some ticks in the options for example Lock ground target at maximum range so you don’t need to be very careful for not aiming to far.
It is nice you can assign a key to change the camera modes into mouse or action.
Thank you very much for adding it to the game so fast.
But…. there is still a little problem that needs to be fixed.
Toggling the mouse combat to action combat also keeps the options you selected even tho they are two different modes.
For example in mouse mode I prefer to use normal while in action mode I prefer to use instant with lock ground target at maximum.
If I go back to mouse mode it keeps the instant and locked ground targeting
My suggestion is to make the options separate for the two combat modes:
A set of options for mouse combat mode and one for action combat mode
The action combat in GW2 is way far from what Action combat should be
First of all in action combat the camera is stuck to the mouse cursor and both are stuck in the middle of the screen. In this way moving the mouse moves the camera too in the direction to you are facing – up, down, left, right.
There are no “snap to target” features because that is not action but a hybrid way of point and click. This system was previously used in early Grand Theft Auto games because the gameplay was a bit clumsy and players could not very easily free target the weapons.
Nowadays this system is outdated and almost never used in games.
When is first heard of this Action combat being introduced to GW2 I was really excited about it because I thought they will implement a true action combat like in TERA, Dragon Nest or Warframe. yes, I know, Warframe is a 3rd person shooter but each warframe has 4 skills which are AoE or Directional, so it can be taken in consideration too when we talk about action combat with skills
In all these games the mouse is stuck with the camera in the middle of the screen cross-hair.
I am really disappointed with how A-net implemented this feature in the game, considering the fact that at the launch of this game many people were banned for using a 3rd party mod which was really making action combat come into GW2
My suggestion to A-net, as you can imagine from the title of this thread, is to create a new MMO containing the best elements of GW2 but in the same time to be different.
We all know GW2 has some very interesting features that not many MMOs have. I am talking about gameplay mechanics like events and quality of life features. Plus it includes PvE, organized PvP and Mass PVP called WvW.
But…. No matter how many expansions GW2 will get in the future, they will be all more or less of the same. They can’t include too much innovative ideas due to lore or setting restrictions
Having all this said, I consider that a small team from A-net’s staff can successfully take care about the future of GW2 while the others, the majority, should focus on something totally different.
And here comes in my suggestion:
A new shooter MMORPG trademarked by A-Net. They have the potential of creating a 1st/3rd Person Shooter MMORPG that will be like no other. They have all the data they need: events scaling, no quest systems and they are the masters of environment, meaning they can create spectacular MMO worlds.
Why am I suggesting this?
Because I know they can do it and they can conquer this segment of the market due to lack of strong competition.
here are a few examples:
Planetside 2 – Open Wold PvP similar to WvW. no PvE
Firefall – Open World PvE with no real goals other then grinding for levels. sub-par PvP
Warframe – Co-op instanced PvE similar to dungeons
Counterstike GO – room based PvP
Warface – room based PvP with very small PvE with good RPG feel
As you see, not anyone of them fits into the category of MMORPG. And you can name others too but still tehy wont fill in the MMORPG genre based on mostly PvE
So, if you guys like this suggestion and want to give some ideas of how A-net can do something like this, feel free to share them with us. Who knows, maybe the “competitors” will read this and they will do it if A-net won’t :P
1. Mobs are pretty hard for a solo traveler and quite easy for zergs. I imagine times when the map will be very empty and it will be a draw back for most solo players.
2. Events are too similar with Silverwastes and Dry Top. Only the foes are sometimes different
3. Map design is awesome. The paths are not very easy to spot out, Gliding to other paths and mushroom jumping is a new way of traveling.
But the bad thing the scenery is not something really amazing. The jungle theme may appeal to some but for the most part it will be annoying and monotonous.
4. WP are few and un-usable due to events and it becomes frustrating to travel if you get killed many times and you are forced to teleport because there is no one around to resurect you.
5. The map events rotation will get boring quite fast and it will not drag the people used to farming from Silverwastes and it will not have more population then dry top nowadays.
6. If this map will be the beginning of the new Living story, it will just be a pass-through map and nothing more. It feels too big for being an action packed coordinated map like Silverwastes
I almost never see anyone looking to do dungeons or fractals. After a month or two, I wonder if anyone will even care about raids anymore.
Ayyy lmao bad troll attempt, very bad.
The guy is right. If you are a casual you rarely get to do a dungeon or fractal unless it is a daily. So if its hard to find 5 random people to do a dungeon, how easy will it be to find 10 especially if it is a lfg and not a free join
I consider myself casual. When I was playing regularly i did dungeons all the time.
What is your definition of causal anyway? And why do you think you can just have a blanketed term for hundreds of thousands of players?
That really didn’t tell me anything more than casuals comprise the largest portion of the playerbase, which funnily hurts your point as then it’s more difficult to try and categorize player interests in that big a group.
I like to play dungeons, I play maybe 6-8 hours a week. Some other dude hates anything harder than open world bosses, he plays 20 hours a week. I consider us both causal.
But apparently I can’t decide that for myself
My point is that LFG is empty most of the time and it is hard to find 5 people to do a dungeon without gear reqs, profession reqs, leave outs and all this BS.
But you got offended because you call yourself a casual while probably feeling excluded from “my definition” or casuals. Fine, who cares about definitions while the fact remains. ten people raids with no hot join button will be fail for most of “my” casuals
I almost never see anyone looking to do dungeons or fractals. After a month or two, I wonder if anyone will even care about raids anymore.

People will look more “legendary” in future gem store outfits then the new “legendary” rewards from raids. GW2 is about fashion statement and not stats.
A 6 digits pin code to actually play a character after loged in would have been sufficient.

The Cross you see on the outfit is a Gothic Architectural object.
An example of it is the Doge’s Palace in Italy. Although there are many Gothic Cathedrals in the world, the Gothic theme is more related to witchcraft and black magic then Christian beliefs which makes them to be considered more Gnostic than Christian.

GW2 is not about leveling, it is about exploring with no set up goals. This makes the game boring for most of people.
Exploring the world with your own personal goals in mind is a tricky thing becasue all we do in other games is follow the quest log which we don’t have in here.
Think of GW2 as a sandbox game where you make you own difficultly.
If the game feels too east, play it without the armor and use manual attack and not auto-attack.
But I agree.. the game gets boring very quickly due to “no goals” system
You have bought the latest smartphone models last year and you will go and ask a refund because they sell them now at half price. Great A. I.
The outfit looks ok. It may not fit all professions in terms of looks but still, it looks good.
But I think they could have made a little difference between accounts considering thet all accounts from day one till a few days ago will get the same outfit
They could run down 3 rewards by years. Who has 3 years accounts will get 4 rewards, who has 2 years will get 3 rewards and who has 1 year or less will get one reward
Lets say,
– the unique outfit will go for the 1 year accounts
– the unique outfit + unique permanent tools set (axe, pick and sickle) will go for 2 years accounts
– the unique outfit + unique permanent tools set + unique title
GW2 Core went to F2P.
I feel cheated, because I’ve paid for game and I didn’t get anything for it, that the game has been transformed to F2P.
We have to buy an expansion, if we want more content. But players who have bought the core game (me too) haven’t any profit from it – any discount to buy expansion or something ? Didn’t you see that ?
If I want to buy an expansion, they give me a core game, that is useless, because I have bought core game.
they gave you an outfit worth 800 gems plus up to 3 years of playtime. Isn’t this worth 50 bucks you paid 3 tears ago? (anything else what you might have bought with gems is irrelevant)
I like the idea of GW2 core came to go F2P. it is easier for us now to recommend this game to our friends, co-workers, relatives etc. They can play with us and if they like it, they will have more incentive to buy it.
This is a great thing A-Net. And for the players who are willing to wait for the next expansion then HoT will be F2P too, so you wont need to buy the game at all and still have all in it.
Play fr free means free trial for me. If the restrictions are those mentioned by data miners, then it is more of a thing that Rift and WoW has..
I guess its a good idea to let people test the game for free and see if they like it before they pay 50 dollars for it.
Personally I am that type of person and before I buy a game a more then happy to give it a try in a beta or anything similar. if not, I will just watch a bunch of clips of gameplay to make an opinion about it.
All banned accounts are no longer in service but this is not stopping the “bad players” to buy a new GW2 account and start their own thing again..
And your solution would prevent this how?
Of course they could buy a new normal account and start the things again… but why would they do it? On the Exiled Territory server will be no rules of conduct or any terms of use. Banned people could play the way they want: botting, grieving, insulting. etc. They will be among people like them. Usually, bad people are not among bad people to see how they actually are. They are bullies with the weak ones.
Being a bully with a bully its a different situation.
So, Anet will still be making money out of them becasue the gem store will be open.
They won’t necessarily want another account in the same Exiled Territory, so in the case they are buying a new normal account they could be more careful with it becasue if they want to be bad they have already the opportunity to be.
Here is a game already released
I have read in some game news that another MMO will implement something new: A prison server. And I consider this could be taken in consideration for GW2 too.
Here is the idea applied to GW2 system.
We all know that there are always players who infringe the terms of service and user agreements. Some are doing it on purpose and some are doing it accidentally.
We also know A-net has some polices for suspending and complete banning accounts.
All banned accounts are no longer in service but this is not stopping the “bad players” to buy a new GW2 account and start their own thing again..
The suggestion is to create an Exiled Territory server where all accounts who are suspended or banned will be assigned to:
The suspended ones will be assigned for the suspension period
while the banned ones will forever be locked to this server
The Exiled Territory server will have restrictions for the players:
- no selling in the trading post (they can buy stuff tho)
- no mail service (no sending or receiving messages even from the game itself like birthday email, etc)
- no “gold to gems” exchange while “gems to gold” will be allowed
- no whispering to accounts outside the Exiled Territory server while all other chat within the server will be allowed
- no party or guild with players from other servers but they can join local parties or guilds. When an account is sent to the Exiled Territory server, they will loose the guilds they were in and they will also lose the friends list. (no need of the list if you cant whisper to them right?)
- no PvP or WvW options. Just PvE and private arenas
- no LFG tool because they can’t join other servers so they need to do the recruiting locally
- no transfer allowed to other servers even if all characters are deleted.
The character selection light background will be changed into a prison cell background
The Exiled Territory server won’t be listed in the server list due to “no transfer from or into” policy and also will not count into “Merging servers” system
The general idea is this.
A-net won’t send their accounts to “death sentence” but instead they will sent them to “life imprisonment”
They have been bullies, they will live among bullies but they wont be able to scam each other. They will be able to buy things from the gem store if they want to or they can just live a simple experience.

Beta crippled by bugs, lack of info & devs
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: Ronah Lynda.2496
This is not a beta, this is a demo for a) tricking people to pre-purchase the game and b) actually rewarding people who got lured into the trap.
The area to play in is so tiny that there should be no surprises for the QA team, the duration is too short to get any valuable data from the “test”.
Real beta testing is a thing of the past or – in rare cases – some more serious companies than ANet, this is just a teaser for the hype.
Feel free to send feedback, but don’t expect anything to change.
Beta test weekend my kitten…
I have to agree with Kaiyanwan.8521, this is not real beta testing situation. It is just a teaser for the hype.
In real beta testing there should be a document where all testers can read known issues relating to this beta testing. Those issues are what QA team have seen, but Anet haven’t got time to fix yet. When people are testing they can read from that document what issues are already known and that way they can find out what issues are new ones, so they can report only those new ones. That is Beta testing.
So my guess is this, people are sending bug reports what are already known by ArenaNet. People are feeling important by doing reporting and they think that they are really beta testing the game. But infact they are doing same reports what QA have already done before.
So this is not real beta testing situation, it is just try to start hype train again.
I have played almost every MMO from the past 10 years(granted some of them only for a couple of hours) and i’ve played in multiple betas. I have never seen anything even remotely close to what you are talking about. Betas have always been done like this weekends beta.
MMOs have Alpha tests which is for “their close friends”, then they have closed betas for the “hypers” who signed in and been RNGed and later the open betas for the “hyped croud” created with the help of " the hypers". All leading leading to a full release for “the general public”
A-nets betas are a mixture between closed & open betas due to pre-purchase system, similar to “founder’s packs” in F2P MMOs.
The word “beta” is put in there to cover up any bugs while the real reason is to get the feedback from the players of their likes and dislikes. They dont necesarrely care about bug reports – they have testers of their own – they just need to see what people enjoy and what not. This is what they “test” and nothing more. Plus they create a marketing campaign.
Revenent will be the low level content if you decide to level one up. The rest will be lvl 80 stuff
I have spotted an “80” next to the Silverwaste. This may be the new zone they are going to have in HoT.
This was not the beta.. Its the begining of a new Alpha.
The GW2 game is in beta since the start. It has seen so many changes over the past ~3 years, that no otgher game has. Plus all the 2 weeks updates needed to be fixed just hours later from the paches because of the game breaking bugs.
Yes, i know, they call this a “Living Game” or “An Evolving World” while it is nothing more then bata-testing various ideas coming from dofferent places.
Nothing New
it feels like a hybrid profession combining all the other professions.
Instead of freely combining utility skills , we are just using specific builds which could have easily been added to the current professions: Warrior, Guardian, Necromancer, Mesmer, Ranger.. So there was no need for a new profesison at all.
I will quote Ilmatar.6709 from another thread and post in here.
I personally like the suggestion for revenant shapeshifting into the Legends
when you are out of combat you will look like the race you have chosen, but when you are in combat stance you will be transformed into the Legend you have equioped.
This idea isn’t totally new to GW universe , it actually happened in GW1 when the Dervish transformed ito the the Various Gods with the elite skill.
So having the revenent shapeshifting into these Legends will make it even closer to the hearts of GW1 Dervish fans.
+1
Revenant is not bringing anything new to the game. It is like mixture of Warrior/Guardian/Elementalist and Necromancer at this moment. It is way underpowered. I know that it is unfinished profession, but still it should bring something new to the game.
Legends
Legends bring different variation of utility skills which are at this moment Jalis: meant to be DPS? Mallyx: Condition damage and Ventari: healer.
Jalis is not feeling very good DPS at all. It brings stability, what works really good, but DPS is not working as good as it should. It feels that foes are hitting me with frying pan and I am hitting foes with feather. Jali’s elite skill says under the information text: Rite of the Great Dwarf (5s): ((441252)). It should be done something, but it is hard to test is it working as intended if there is only a code in there.
Mallyx is working pretty good, but it feels too much like Necromancer with wells. Condition damage is stacking pretty good way, but still it feels that I am only spraying pepper gas to foes eyes and I lost all my powers to this action. This pepper gas makes foes to weap and more angry, while I am trying to get back my powers for next pepper gas usage.
Ventari is feeling bit too weak for healing. It is slow and even I put traits to support healing skills it didn’t worked very good. Regeneration what it gives with every pulse is too short and too weak. Condition removing is too narrow area. I really had to put that Ventari’s Tablet to stand on target’s head that condition remover was worked properly. It feels clumsy way mixture of elementalist water spells and Engineer Healing turret.
Weapons
Hammer feels way underpowered and really slow. I think it is made for DPS maker. Now the feeling is like foes are hitting me with Iron Hammer to the head and I am hitting them with knitted hammer what are filled with soft cotton balls. Yes it is only tickeling foes and I am getting beaten up with iron hammer. 2nd skill should creating cascading eruption of power to damage to foes. Now it is just creating cascading eruption of power and mild breeze is coming from the ground.
Staff is feeling underpowered too. Maybe it ment to be supporting weapon, but it’s 4th skill what should be healing, makes your knee ache go away, otherwise it is not giving aid at all. 5th skill is pretty good, but it should push foe even further.
Mace and Axe, finally weapon set what worked fine. Power was good, it was fast, it did damage and felt that I was beating up foes and giving them back what they deserve.
Summary
Revenant is totally unfinished profession and there is a lot of to do for it. It gives a feeling that there is a long way until this profession is ready. Yes, it is long and hard road to make new profession to fit with other professions. It is profession what copycat warrior, guardian, elementalist and Necromancer and their working models. Maybe there is coming more weapon sets and legends what makes it copycat all the other profession. That makes me wonder what is the new element what this profession is bringing to the game. It is not flying and poke foes eyes from above them and dazzle them, it is not using Mists powers and shifting between Mists and reality to make foes puzzled. If this profession would really shapeshifting to those Legends what they call for, that would be something new. If they could really shapeshift to Jalis Ironhammer, a stone dwarven, they would be really hard to hit. Or if they really shapeshift to Mallyx the Unyielding and using same skills what he used in DoA in GW1. Awesome. Or if they really could shapeshift to Ventari with all it’s weakness and powers. That would bring something new to the game. But now how this profession has been implemented, it makes a feeling that it is only made for because some of the playerbase have asked for new profession. It has been implemented lazy way.

We should be able to use gliders in any map. becasue they don’t represent any special effect other then a way of replacing “droping” with “gliding”
So, whereever my character can “drop” from, it should always be able to “glide” because it’s player’s action to use (F) and gliding is not an auto-feature
It not ruining JPs or WPs becasue you can’t “fly up” but just “glide down” from higher places, where you got onto/into “by foot”
That’s not entirely accurate. One thing I saw as you advance your gliding progression is the ability to catch updrafts and the like and increase altitude.
You are right. You can catch up updrafts, but they are non-existent in other zones… So all they need to do is just keep the feature with “press F to start gliding” without other benefits.
I mean people will be happy if they would be able to jump down with the glider from higher places. (Vistas, JPS, etc)
Think about the JP in Caldon forest… if you drop, you die and then use another teleport.. Imagine how cool it wil be if you fall, you could glide.
People might even do it for fun
(edited by Ronah Lynda.2496)
Because only few maps have areas where you could glide.
Breaking the fall is always good
The visibility for the new hero challenge icons is very low on the maps compared to the old skills challenge icons.
The gold color blends to much with the environment compared to the old blue color
Please, change it.
Thank you

Hey, A-Net has put out a new game. Yeye! Its called Heart of Thorns so they can sound similar to Hearthstone and confuse people which one is which. Got it? / blink blink
Now, the new game from A-net, Heart of Thorns is a new b2p MMO which brings nothing new to the genre, actually its completly similar up to indentical with Guild Wars 2. So, if they sold GW2 based on GW1 famous name, now they stick this GW2 name on their new game to increase the sales
/sarcasm

They plan to sell the game in shops as a boxed game. many retailers dont have the GW2 game anymore so this new game solves their problem. Selling the expasion as a stand alone product will raise the retailers costs. So they may do not buy the separate expansion box becasue it is not a good deal at the same price.
On the other hand, selling the expansion as a stand alone product only online will draw the palyer base of GW2 to not buy any games in the stores so the retailers will be passed by.
I belive A-net wants to see their game in stores to give them prestige thats why they are not selling it only online. Of course there will be players who dont have online payment methods available but for them the stores are the only solution so they will settle with whats in offer.
Online you can make any sort of combinations for pricing, but not in stores so I guess this is the only issue with them…. see the game on store shelves. It may ahve been a deal with the stores like they will sell with them all the future expamnsions or products… and if they wouldnt they would face lawsuits.
Bad managament in all cases

You want to keep the price tags for expansion editions?
Fine.
But offer something free to your players who already own the core game. Make it as a drop list of choices so everyone will get what they are most interested in.
This will make it fair to veterans and new players too.
Is this so much to ask for?
Acquisitions can be made within the game account so it will be simple to make a date time check to see if the account was created before the HoT pre-purchase relase date
Example: The first thing you will buy in the gem store wil be free, no amtter what you shoose: character slot, name change, costume, etc.

To sell an expansion at the price of a full game MUST include 20+ new zones, 300+ PoIs, 100+ skill challanges, 150+ Vistas, 300+ Heart quests and ~20 episodes of Personal Story.

When GW1 was in its 3rd year, Anet thought they should make GW2 because their new ideas could not be technically achieved with the GW1 engine.
Now, when we are in the 3rd year of GW2, Anet think to make GW3 but becasue the GW2 system alows them to make chamges, they desided to mess up the whole game with the new ideas.
Really, just trying to read all the OPs, it feels they have nothing better to do then re-write the whole game over and over and over. This game is not a continuous evolving world and they advertize it, it’s a time loop where players do and learn the same things over and over becasue we are playing an open beta game since the begining coz they never said Its ready" but only “When its ready”
Believe me, it will never ever be ready!
An enourmous waste of resouces instead of having the whole Tyria map open and filled up with the usual stuff: PoIs, Vistas, Hearts, etc.
I dont know about you guys, but I’d rather have a Living story update once a month plus some features updates on the way then wait for an expansion for more then half of year.
Nowadays, I am just doing the log-in wars and 3 dailies for about 15 min at most.
The Living Story gave me things to do every month (or two weeks). I felt like the game is doing something and it is not the same one forever.
They have announced the expansion in January and now we are in June and no release date and as they have not talked about the specializations of Elementalist, Warrior etc.. plus some new betas coming out of course, my guess is they will not release this exapnsion this year. We might have a pre-purchase somewhere in August-Spetember for a guaranteed beta access and then some 3-4 beta weekends, one in a month.
To sum it up, I rather had the living story then this expansion.

Rant hero points & how Anet should fix it

+1 I totally agree.
when they announced the expansion they said “they dont want to invalidate players work” snd thets why they dont add new gears. But how about ot skills?
We have bought all our skills, normal and elites, to most of our alts if not all our alts.
Now we ahve to go and do the skill chalanges again just to get our skills back?
This is really INVALIDATING our work.
I dont care about the materials you offer us for the crafing in exghange of the skill points and skill scrolls we have. I dont give a kitten about crafting. I totally ingnore it. So I dont need your materials. I want ALL MY SKILLS I have worked for whitout any other suplimentary work for it. So you are not invalidating us with new gears but with another grind for hero points which is not even alt freindly
This is bullkitten but hey, who gives a kitten? There are still many players who will buy the expansion and give them millions of dollars. There will always be gulibles and noobies who are unawareof the trickery A-net is using to hit on their players every 6-8 months
yes The mastery sytem/ UI etc is really not very easy to understand and you are really in the dark if you skipped the littel info boxes appearing on the screen.
The 2nd issue is with the gliding bar.. it is placed on top while you are not actually seeing it. it cound be better if they would have placed it on bottom over the stamina (dodge energy) bar.
It is somehting related to your character and not with the enemy. top of screen should remain for enemy info and bottom for personal info.
Character selection screen is just horrible. Even the 70’s games like Mortal Kombat had more visually appealing character selection screen. But this has been said in the forum since launch – alsi about the log in screen – and it has just been a vain talk.
The devs are not intersted: “its not the game’s selling point” anyway
