How about getting a region change? NA is almost never empty in any of maps. Think of it as people from Australia, Philipines, Taiwan, Japan, Brazil, US, and many EUs are playing in there. So the time is covered 24/7 while EU has only european players and they mostly play in prime-time.

as long as you can disable the whole “invasion” thing, i don’t mind.

that would kill the purpose, wouldnt it? I mean, why spend time to imagine a stornghold if others are not seeing it? even in GW1 you have gvg matches so there were invadors too.
Anyway, it is too late now to give them suggestions so the GH we will get in HoT will be way far away from this.

in the castles in a game called The MightyQuest for Epic Loot, thet would be awesome.
I dont mean the graphics but the way we are building them and fortyfy them while others come and try to raid them.
Of cource in GW2 we should be able to defend them in person if we are there not like in the above mentioned game.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i7iZDuz0XNk
We could buy all sorts of traps for it.. We can alsoe expand it with more rooms and floors.
They can introduce a new mastery like capruting the souls of the beasts but killing some specific campions of thet race and then add them to our GH as defenders.
All creature we add to the GH will be fruendly to us and enemy to invadors.
We make our GH the way we like startign froma predetermed for then build it in any possible way. horrizontally and vertically
The beter defences we have means longer time for invadors to beat it.. so it will earn us more points while invadors more greater rewards.
These points would increase the GH rating in the lederboads.

You dont need to have live gameplay, a recorded good one will be much appreciated.

They definitely will sell glider skins in gem store similar to mail carriers.

Now a little thought from me. They put in Masteries to learn to fly a glider. We already have swiming in the game as supposed all characters know to swim by their nature.
So, flying is not a native skill of the characters, it must be learned. My prediction is in a future expasion they will add mounts too with a mastery for learing to ride.

Worried: Specializations vs. Expansionless

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Ronah Lynda.2496

On a better thought.. the expansion is only boxed because the cuccrent living story episodes have not sold as intended. So the season 3 of living story plus some feature packs (guild halls, WvW map and PvP map) will all be in one huge patch behind a pay wall.
Let say the expansion will be released in august there are like 6 months. which include about 10 living stories plus some festivals (April’s fools day and Dragon bash) and from our experice so far every festival was loaded with a feature pack.
So my assumtion is the expansion is boxed becasue people wanted an expansion in a box and because the old style of living story episodes haven’t reach the estimated income profit: either for those who have not bought them becasue they havent logged in regurally and aloe for those who have not bought the specifit gem store items with real cash but with game gold. And we know there are a lot of rich players in the game already, handeling tousends of golds weekly.

People with Prophesies could still play with players with Eotn, only they had to use henchmen while the others were using heros.
The new Eotn zone was not available to the people only with Prophesies.

I think it will be the same with HoT. New zone not accesable for the players whithout buying it, while specializations will be “like the heros”: a bit more efficient.

Also the new profession wont be available to people whout expansion.
People without Factions cound not go to Luxon/Kurzik Pvp maps
so the new PvP maps will be available only with expansion.

Carapace Coat Box: Feedback & Suggestions [merged]

in Living World

Posted by: Ronah Lynda.2496

Ronah Lynda.2496

At this moment, Carapace coat Boxes are dropping too few. It makes players feel stressed and it makes players hate this new event more and more. It does not feeling any rewarding when player don’t get even one Carapace armor box after hard work. It feels like they have been betrayed by game.

Situation at this moment how you can get Carapace coat box now from Vinewrath chest:
Randomly dropped from vinewrath chest, mostly you don’t have any Carapace Armor Box. Most of the time those players who are victims of bad luck feels really frustrated. It feels like that Vinewrath Chest is not rewarding at all. They feels betrayed by game.

This is my suggestion how Vinewrath Chest reward could work better:

1) All these Carapace armor boxes should be placed in their own table:

  • Carapace Headgear Box,
  • Carapace Shoulder Box,
  • Carapace Coat Box,
  • Carapace Glove Box,
  • Carapace Legging Box,
  • Carapace Boot Box.

2) There should be built some logic behind how that Vinewrath Chest is working. This logic would check out does specific account have all carapace armor pieces collected. And this logic should work like this:

Game check out does account have all Carapace armor pieces collected already

  • TRUE = all Carapace armor pieces are collected, droppings are working like at this moment
  • FALSE= all Carapace armor pieces are not collected, one dropping is taken from Carapace Armor Box table randomly, and rest droppings are taken from other rng table.

So those accounts what are still missing one or more Carapace Armor pieces from it’s collection, will be guarantee to have one Carapace Armor Box from Vinewrath Chest.

How it helps for situation:

  • It gives more hope those players who are beaten up by lady luck
  • It feels more rewarding, when you get guarantee to have one Carapace Armor Box every time from chest until account’s collection is done; even that Carapace Armor Box is not right one, next one might be that what you are hunting.
  • Event don’t feel so frustrating anymore
  • Everybody will get their Carapace armors collected

I am sorry my bad English, but English is not my native language.

This is good. The current RNG system is really bad designed. It awards players who already got them more the t hsoe who haven’t.
I think this carapce box thing is very similar to loot lottery in other MMOs when you need to be fast to click “I want” or you will be at the mercy of ohers.

Ronah Lynda.2496

I can’t call this a wish list, because the expansion is already done if they will anounce it but, I will say this:
There are imporant things which if not added will upset the majority of players while there are others, secondaries which if not added will upset only a fraction of the playerbase

The important ones are (imo)
- new playable race(s)
- new profession(s)
- new skills
- new weapons (including the expanding of the usable weapons / profession)
- guild halls and GvG
- new PvP modes
- new WvW map(s)

Less important or secondary ones are (imo)
- PvE duels or PvE team duels
- Mounts (for the new zones designed with them in mind)
- Air combat and Mounted Combat
- secondary professions for characters
- new crafting disciplines

Imagine: if GW2 had no level progression

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Ronah Lynda.2496

Ronah Lynda.2496

There are two main issues the developers would need to think about if they want to get rid of the levels in GW2
1) They need to create new incentive to continue playing. Ewe all know that the majority of peoplep laying a MMO are asking/searching what is the fastest way to level because the game starts at max level.
2) They need to redesign the whole game mechanic from the start which would fit in a huge feature pack. From our experice so far, they have not released any patch without bugs and some of them really bad ones. So redesigning the game will send GW2 into a new bata phase which I dont belive they want to do.

All these being said, although I would like to develop some ideas about how the game might work whitout the levels in the traditional way – even a CDI could be started about this – I highly doubt they will ever do it.

A-Ner should create an in-game music mode which will be activated once you have equiped a musical instrument. than all the rules valid for the general gameplay will be overwritten with the new Musical mode where you are aloded to press multiple keys at once and save songs and load saved ones in a gamebased music library.
We have TP which is working accross all servers, the music lybrary should be the same things.
Is it too much work for it? Make it an achievement based Gamemode and give people one free intrument and make a crafting profession which bulds instruments and all is ok.
Put minigames as the bellchoir notes ina window and people will do a “guitar hero” imitation whenver they feel good about it

With A-nets ingenuity, the Skirtts would play quite awsome and would have nice acrobatics, way more cooler then Allods has.

A new playable race would also require a new personal story so here goes for Skritt:

“I am Skritt. Yes yes. Long time ago, we lived in caves and under ground. It was dark but was skritt home. But then, destroyers came to get us, and we had to run away!

We found new home in outside world, but the sun was very bright. Yes, bright. We make living from finding shinies. Lots of shines makes us live with nicer things.

Skrittburg is my home. We live with lots of Skritt and look after Skritt King who must stay alive on throne for long time. Yes, but bad people like nightmares and grey ears and tall men come to get Skritt King.

Today, I chosen to leave Skrittburg to find lots of shinies, but instead, I found the bad nightmare people trying to capture other Skritt. I must do something, and help them from being slaves.

This is my story. Yes yes!"

OMG! this was awesome !!!

Ronah Lynda.2496

If A-net would ever decide to make the Skritts playable, then here is one suggestion

I imagine the skritt “character” a multiple character …. meaning that you dont have one single skritt but 3 of them.

Of couce they will play like a single character having the exact same skill bars for specific profession, only that animations will be devided between the 3 Skritts
Why this multiple character? Because everyone knows skritt are intelligent when they are together and not alone. So having a “multiple character” makes sense

At creation screen you will need to create all 3 Skritts looks only they will all have the same profession. This means you dont need to equip all 3, but only one.
All your skrits will have the same gears for the looks.
In your H window, you will only see the main Skritt (the one you created first) and all the stats will be devided between the three as they act as one.
All 3 Skrits will lose health in the same time. Etc

Basically instead of having one character you have three but they are as powered and geared as you would have only one.

I am sorry if this has been suggested before but It feels to be like a clever idea of intorducing Skritts as a playable race with a little bit of uniqueness

[Suggestion] Simple Personality System

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Ronah Lynda.2496

Ronah Lynda.2496

Your hypothetical counts only those who have completed said heart. For new players, who may need help to complete an event in that area, it’s another issue.

While I applaud your suggestion, I can see many ways a certain element could abuse it.

Again, for me, no thank you,

Events can be skiped in this discussion.. They offer anyone whatever they choose: positive or negative. Individual kills withing an event are not giving any points. So if they do help people now with events they will do it after this personality would be implemented. it will not effect the completion or failing of this event.

Helping people with hearts is a different story. Two new people can help eachother with the heart becasue this is what they do. But what about a player who had done this heart? Will he help?
Untill this personality system, he would have killed those foes to help the newbie with his auto attack so he will not kill them too fast…. after the system he will get positive points. If he wants to be positive, there is no trouble in that.
But what about if he wants to get negative points? He can use his brain and use a combo field so the new player will kill the foes by poison, burning chilling etc while he will get his negative points.

Being negative is not going to give any advantages over the positive. So whatever a player would be is not going to affect much of his gameplay. The Karma vendors are not so popular amongst players so they will get dissapointed by a 5% price increase while being negative.
It will be a challenge to be positive all the time like A-net wants us to be and yes, being positive is not always easy. A hero should act like a hero and from time to time he needs to act negatively (expl. Ambient killer daily achievement)
It will be a moral choice for some players, a dificult one but they will do it. Which reminds me of how bad people felt when they were forced to kill the Ventari in the last Living Story but they did it in the end.
Giving different feeling to the kills in the game improves its quality and not diminushes it

[Suggestion] Simple Personality System

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Ronah Lynda.2496

Ronah Lynda.2496

No thank you. I’m not reading a reason, or reward, for players to strive for such a thing. Right now, karma merchants offer their rewards whether you’re an angel or a kitten.

Seems counterproductive.

Plus, there’s a chance that certain players will defend their kitten -hattery because of this system. “I’m being evil because the personality system rewards me for it.” And then the opposing players will be peeved that a certain quest didn’t get done, yadda yadda yadda. Plus, this flies in the face of slayer achievements.

Sorry, but I have to say no to your suggestion. But, maybe, someone else will love it.

If you want to be a bad guy the only thing you might not do is the heart quest becasue it offers you positive points. All the rest you can do: kill foes all the way on your road and do all events you want. you will chose the negative reward while other will chose their positive one.
So there wont be any event failing on purpose because of negative personality.
You are not awarded personality. you are getting it while playing and make your choices which will not interfere with others.
Once you ahve done your heart, you still can kill the foes counting to the heart for other players. This time they will give you personality points depending on how to kill them but still will not prevent you from “helping” others unintentionally

[Suggestion] Simple Personality System

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Ronah Lynda.2496

Ronah Lynda.2496

In the begining the game had a sort of rudimentary personality system which later has been droped down from the future A-Nets projects.
I will suggest a simple way of adding a personality system in the gamne without changing too much of the current system

Here is how I think of it:

There will be “positive personality points” and “negative personality points”

Completing heart quests will award the player only with Positive Personality Points because the nature of the quests is to help someone in need which implies a good deeds

Killing innocent foes like “white” and “yelow” will award the player only with Negative Personality Points" because the nature of thise killings is purelly intentional with no real reason to do it in a moral way of thinking of cource

Killing foes within an event that count for the event compeltion will NOT award any personality points on their own, negative or positive, but at the end of the event, the player will get a reward chest with the choice of choosing what type of personality points he/she wants in any case of succeding or failing the event

Killing red foes on the way while traveling, foes which are not part of a heart completion or an event completion will award negative or positive personality points depending on the type of kill the player has done:
- using only the weapon auto attack skill or simple weapon damage attacks with no conditions or utility skills will award positive points while
- using condition skills and combos plus utility skills will award negative points becasue the kill has been done in a more brutal way.
*note: killing foes with a Finisher will always award negative personality points

I think this could be a simple mechanic to be introduced in the game without major changes.

Now, onto the developing of the system.

>ONLY karma armors and weapons will change their look depending on the personality points acumulated by the character. The other oens will not suffer any visual change

>There will be a limit of 50.000 points for each negative or positive points which will fluctuate , meaning that a character cannot be super negative like aquiring millions of negative point which will be a choir to be removed if the player wants to change his/her character’s personality into positive

>Karma merchants in the world, including the heart quest NPCs will offer the same goods but at a higher price in karma if the character is on the negative personality while they will offer the current prices if the cahracter is on positive personality

>The other merchants in the world could receive a new tab with goods which could be accesed only if the character is in negative personality. The goods will be generic like foods, drinks, etc.

I consider this sytem will not interfere too much with A-nets ideal of all characters are good heros and will not effect the gamepley too much unless people are too concerned about their personality, but it will give a little depth to your character without changing too much of the current mechanics

GW2 needs a Huge Tutorial Instance

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Ronah Lynda.2496

Ronah Lynda.2496

GW2 is different then other MMOs si it needs to have a tutorial which tells newcomers how to play the game inside the game not on an online manual no one finds even if it is put on the client page nor a wiki with tousends of subjects.

For those who remember GW1 Prophesies, there was the Pre-sering. a slow paced zone where people could learn the basics about the game.

I am suggesting for a similar zone in GW2 which will not be skippable when you have the first character but skippable from the 2nd character on.
In this zone the player will be taken around by an NPC and shown the mechanics of the game: skills and skill combos, weapon choices, hearts, vistas, Pois. They will be told there is no kill steal or resouce steal and thet there are events pop-ing up.

They also should be told they can travel to other races starter zones – which is not always possible in other MMOs – and they should be told about WvW and PVP too.
Tell the new players about the living story which they have as a sort of endgame content and that it will continue their personal story

I belive a tutorial zone like this will do much better to a new player to understand what to do then any written texts (online manual, wiki, in -game pop-ups). Also, they will learn to listen to the NPCs talking and not ignore them completely

I am writing this suggestion becasue, during this Christmas vacation I have played and helped a lot of newcommer in the game. It took me about 1 hour to explain them the basics to undestand what they needed to do. All of them were lost after the few hearts the initial scout told them about (if they even have talked to the initial one)

Please A-net, try to implement a tutorial instance to the game even if it hard work to do, but it will have better effect on the new players considering this game is 2.5 years old aready. it will de better then any written text.

[Suggestion]more elaborated Mini-pets

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Ronah Lynda.2496

Ronah Lynda.2496

Some minis we have are in a combat stance, others are simple bystanders and others make some soounds.

It would be nice if the minis will have actions in connection wth what the character is doing:
- If the character is in combat, minis should be in combat mode too.
- If the character is a bystander then the minis should take the same stance

I consider this to be easyly added becasey all the minis are actually characters/foes in the game and they already have skill bars.

It would be nice if the minis would perforn their real skills while the player is in combat, but ofcouce with no effect in the combat, just for showiing off

For example, the asura peacmaker mini has a longsword and from time to time it is drowing it out with a nice metalic sound. How cool it would be if it would actually perform those funny asuran moves while the player is in combat.
I think it would be asweome
it would give more life to the minis

Thank you!

Hmm… Here is a suggestion for A-Net
They could add these “funny” runes to Outfits.

In the same time they evolve the outfits into somehting customisable and in the same time they can add more “coolness factors” in the game.

Think about the robothron backpack. it is funny to hear it.
The same thing could happen with the runes on outfits.

Of cource, the runes will apply their efects when the character displayes the outfit and not just having it equipped

and to keep in tone with the thred…

The rune of the Cheerful
1) 60% chance to start dancing after you killed a yelow or whit foe
2) 20% chance to use a random Finisher (if available)
3) 40% chance for players in 300 to start to “cheer” for you when you killed a veteran foe
4) 100% chance to start dancing after each 25th foe you killed
5) 75% chance all players in 700 start dancing after you killed a champion foe
6) 100% chance to start an “exclusive rune dance” after killing a foe from Downed state

Of course in this time period of time you have the opportunity to teleport wherever you want if you want, but sometimes people just go AFK and don;t bother anymore.

also, each event should scale down with the number of people remained in a certain radius

Sometimes people don’t teleport because they wait to resurrected after the fight is done because they don’t get rewards so if you put the rewards in chests like we have now in Silverwastes then it is ok for people to teleport because they don;t loose the boss rewards

if added, i see this system implemented like this:

Experience points gained from exploration, gathering, completed events, heart quests, Vistas, PoI’s will go automatically to the character who is doing these things
while the experience earned by killing foes – within or outside of events, hearts – will go to an account " experience jar" from which the player can choose which character will take it all or a fraction of it

A new player will most likely use the “account jar” on his first character and while he/she is leveling a new character may explore the new zones, living story with the max level and don’t feel like his other characters are being neglected because he/she has no time to play them. They will know that they can use a bit of experience for them too.

If an account has all characters max level, then it will not be of such importance who is taking the experience from the “account jar”.

CDI-Guilds- Raiding

Ronah Lynda.2496

I think of the raids like this

A multi level dungeon. Lets say room 1 room2 etc.
You can only start from Room 1 and continue as much as you can further
The party can enter the room1 in an organized form or just random like in mad kings lab
Once the first room goals have been completed, they can access the next room and so on.
The challenge is to keep your party full till the end, because if one player is killed it will have 30 seconds to get resurrected otherwise it will be kicked out.
lets call this a sort of hard mode.

To make an easy mode to this, every room is megaservered which means that every time a team goes in the next room, it will be merged with other teams if the room cap isn’t reached

So, it will be a challenge to get with the same team till the end of the raid because you are not able to invite others “to the last boss” like in the other dungeons
I hope you got the idea, although i have not explained it very good.

Please add end game raiding (10-20 mans)

I see Raids in GW2 as a multi-entrance instance, or dungeon if you like.
Every 5 people entering the instance will be sent to a different entrance, one of the four different ones if they all enter from the same portal.
To specifically enter a certain portal, the 5 player team should enter if through the specific portal within the map.zones of Tyria
I see the LFG like this: LFG Portal 1, LFG portal 2 etc.
Every formed 5 player team can enter the portal independently from other teams because they have different paths to follow, anyway up until all 4 teams will cross paths

[Suggestion] Special Days, Weeks and Weeknds

I remember in GW1 we had special weekends like Double factions, or double Eotn points or Double green drops.

The same system could be implemented to GW2 in various ways

Special days. weeks and weekends
– double experience gained from killings while wearing a heavy armor
– double experience gained form kills while wielding a sword
– double karma from events while playing a female character
– double experience for mining
– gaining 10.000 karma for earning10 golds with the Trading Post
– etc

The implementation is simple while the possibilities are huge and it will give a new fresh incentive for playing in my opinion.
We already had a similar approach in the game with the gaining of more pvp rank point during the community events.
So all it is doable

The Statue Hall

I think that every guild hall should have a “Statue hall” where every member of the guild will be displayed with his/her character according to their ranks within the guild roster. The guild founder will be able to choose a pattern of how the Statue Hall should look like. Because the guild roster can expand, this Statue Hall will expand too.

The pedestal of the statue will display the Achievement points counter

Also, the pedestal will look different based on player’s activity in the number of hours spent in General PvE, PvP, WvW, Team Arena, Dungeons or Fractals can set up a different style of pedestal:
- Mostly PvE – a stune pedestal with a dragon around it (similar to the dragon on that outfit)
- Mostly PvP – a stone pedestal with an emblem similar to the Guild Finisher
- Mostly WvW – A stone pedestal with the design of a fortress
- Mostly Team Arena – a stone pedestal similar to the Coliseum in Rome
- Mostly Dungeons – a stone pedestal surrounded by a lot of skulls
- Mostly Fractals – a fractured stone pedestal emanating a dark smoke

The pedestal design will automatically change with the variation of number of hours played specifically

Note:
This system of number of hours is fair to veteran and new players alike because it makes a percentage of the time spent in the game and not the actual total amount of hours

The statues will be a full colored enlarged version of the character (similar to armor statues in GW1 Hall of monuments) only that they can have a set of preset postures . For example every 2500 achievement points the account could unlock a different posture
There should be 4 options what a player could have while clicking his/her own statue:
1. Select a character to Display (a drop down list with all characters in that account)
2. Select the posture (a drop down list with different unlocked postures)
3. Display currently online
4. Always display the last logged off character

See a picture for a real 500 Statues Hall
“Bai Dinh Pagoda of Vietnam has two longest corridors measuring 1.700 m in length, consisting 500 Arhat Statues. It was made in 2005 by 100 artisans and 700 workers. Each statue is made up of monolith in different shape and size measuring 2 to 2.5 m in height and an average weight of 2 to 2.5 tons.”

Work, work work... what's the fun in that?

You guys have eliminated the mounts so you would be different from other MMO but you let in the most annoying thing in the game – The Crafting.
Of course there are players who enjoy this, but, hey I could say the same things about mounts too and you won’t listen. But instead of making the crafting very simple like it was in GW1 where you just needed to gather materials, now you made all sorts of unnecessary splits into materials refinements etc.
Can’t we just have simple crafting like “you need 1000 x material, 100 b material” instead of you need 10 w material which needs 100 a material each etc.
I am sorry but this just feells like Work Work Work… as one of those Charr workers in LA say.. What’s the fun ion that?

I am not sure if it has been brought up, but I would like to see a “guild search/advertise tab” in the Y window where all the guilds will be displayed in a list.

An apply button should be available for joining a guild whose recruiting formalities are open.

Guild Name < Tag < Apply
Selecting a guild will open its advertisement

How many of you guys have updated the Nvidia driver to the last version? My friends’ problems started after that. Can you confirm you have now the 340.52?

I’m just annoyed people are buying outfits at all, when those assets could have been built as armor pieces so they work with other gear choices in a mix-&-match fashion.

and use transmutation charges for all characters they fit? no thank you. One purchase for all is better then mixing them with gems all the time

Mounts

They might add mounts in future if they make specific zones for them. For example, if they will make the crystal desert like a huge desert they can add wurms to ride on like in Nightfall. They might add some other types too but they would be usable only in that region.
So, i see a possibility of adding mounts to GW2 but not in the classic way from other MMOs but in a completely different way.

and i quote someone’s motto:

no Capes… no Mounts… no Trinity… no Open-world PvP…. no Duels

Currently in the character selection screen we see the following infos about the selected character
- name
- level
- guild representing
- map completion percent
- current location
- server

it would be nice if they add these two more infos in there like
- order
- personal story level

3 trait books vs 65 trait books

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

I am not sure I understand why they made this horrible change. At first you needed 3 golds to open all your traits and now you need over 40 golds plus 365 skill points

If this is a not a grinding, I don’t know what else is

Of course you can unlock them by doing tasks but it is still a forced grind and a limiting system for trying/testing various builds by new players or alts.

For some one who buys the game now, it will be a “no refund” for buying the “wrong” trait similar to all other MMOs plus the amount of 65 trait books is really discouraging

I am glad I have leveled my characters before this terrible change.
I have no interest of unlocking the13th trait in any of characters with or without golds
