My account was preordered and never touched because my computer couldn’t run it. I finally get a new computer, find out my account’s been hacked, spend three days with customer service to retrieve it, try to log in to find that the account was suspended due to suspicious activity, spent another two days with customer service to get it unsuspended, and now this. I seriously haven’t even gotten to play yet. Yes, my account was hacked, so it’s possible that the gold spammer who hacked the account used an exploit. HOWEVER, I’ve consulted support about the hack, and I should NOT be held responsible for YOUR COMPANY’s security flaws.

I would greatly appreciate if you would review my ticket. I do not want to spend three more days waiting to use the product I payed for ages ago.

Of course WoW economy functions fine, either setup will WORK without completely failing… that’s not the point at all.

A global economy here protects everyone from others manipulating the market. And if you’re aware of the farmer groups out there, they make an unbelievable amount of real-world cash of off RUINING online economies. A global economy is much more stable… prices don’t fluctuate as much because the demand and supply pool is larger (in general) than one person can impact.

So there is a very real reason to do it the way ANet has and it makes sense.

Let’s stay on topic here – the point was slowness of the marketplace. Regardless of the size of the economy, this is a matter of number of servers and cash. If ANet wants to speed it up, they can.

PLEASE remove this quirk in the group where the leader leaving kicks everyone out of the instance. Our leader just left on the boss of fractal #3 in the set… pushing everyone out to Lion’s Arch.

That is such a waste of time when we could have immediately replaced him otherwise. He replied “that’ll teach you to let someone else open the instance” … and as true as that may be, only 1 person can open it, soooo 4 people will always have to go along with that.

PLEASE fix this. It is a terrible feature if that’s what it is.

Currently, there’s an entire portion of functionality dedicated to Charisma vs Ferocity etc… but it’s impact or even knowledge of its presence is dismal.

Why not attach titles to the resulting combinations (i.e. right now I’m “Noble”) and provide it to players as something to display to others what their personality is all about? So we’d get 1 title ‘slot’ that would shift the title depending on how our choices change. This would anchor the personality choices in a visible way for a LOT of players; titles do not fall from trees in this game…

Otherwise it doesn’t show to others at all, and we’re not playing a single player RPG here folks

yeah it has always been around for big SM battles, but it seems like it’s gotten worse throughout the zone after the last patch.

Anyone else having this issue? I know it’s commonplace on Gandara at least… nowt sure what the cause is but fights over SM are literally a joke with the ability lag. You’re lucky if your ability fires at all – and even then it can take several seconds as a delay.

And while I’m here… so many interviews with Colin have pointed out that ANet really supports players just jumping into the game, spending an hour or two, and feeling like they achieved something. I could do that in WvW pre-Feb-patch… now, I can’t – because I can’t see where skirmishes are. So I revert to heading to contested locations… to find bats harassing the supply post.

I really hope the guild bounty brings something really exciting to the table, when the timer is up, and that March brings a decent amount of content as well… starting to feel like the “live team” for GW2 has some core issue somewhere in their roadmap. The excitement is very low since Halloween and Christmas and every interview I read – hoping for a glimpse of something exciting – is full of “That’s not in our plan. Neither is that. Or that.”

Sure I don’t pay a subscription – I just pay plenty to the gem store – but I really do want to continue falling in love with GW2 every time I login, and you’re making it hard ANet :-(

With only 9 days left in January, it’s a bit concerning that the update page for the month is still blank. The videos announcing what’s to come and the blog post setting our expectations low for January are nice… but it still said there’d be something. With multiple rounds of testing I’d presume that you’d have an idea of what’s coming w/ 9 days notice and to give us something to plan for / get excited about…

It’s not the end of the world; but just as some honest player feedback, it’s not so exciting to be playing something that starts feeling stagnant so soon. It feels like the design team went on Xmas holiday and never came back :-(

Any chance of a fix for this bug before the first new zone releasing this weekend… being a WATER zone for some large part I’m sure…??? AN sometimes I don’t get you :-/

Edit: “This bug” being the mob-going-invulnerable-and-returning-to-spawn-and-sometimes-healing… while player does NOT get to heal because they’re still in combat…. the one we’ve all experienced but AN is pretending doesnt exist.

Just a supportive bump in a vain attempt to get someone’s attention. This bug is so prevalent in water combat that either a) a dev MUST have experienced this and know it exists but have so much other buggy code to fix they can’t get to it or b) the devs don’t play water content. Unfortunately it seems it’s a). But I’m sure glad these patches lately are implemented for 1-bug fixes! xD

This issue, where mobs randomly go invulnerable and return to their spawn point… some then heal, others don’t… has existed since game launch and I know other players have experienced it as well. I thought it was a bug with my guardian abilities or something but it happens for my elementalist as well.

It makes your underwater content quite frustrating sometimes, to be honest.

And now you’re releasing a new zone with lots of underwater stuff probably and I still see no mention of fixing this bug anywhere. I guess we just have to live with it and continue avoiding underwater content after we get the initial completion marks…

Glyph of Renewal is off my bar today permanently. In any dungeon, thanks to the folks making dungeon mobs hit like a freight truck and aggro stay on downed players for awkwardly long periods, the cast time will result in the target player being dead before it goes off. Use in PVP? Nope… enemy kill-strikes land before this goes off too.

The built-in “Revive” function that all players have is now better than this skill LOL.

Thanks for making my hotbar skill selection easier Anet Hope your intent isn’t to have skills we can actually use – cuz then you’ve missed the mark here.

Totally agree with the posts about the ill logic being used with dungeons here.

I’m running my first alt now to give time for ArenaNet to make more fun stuff to do but Jon’s post here makes me really think they just don’t understand dungeons for some reason… which is baffling to me because many other parts are fun. Clearly he says some are too easy, but only some MAY be too hard… and he says they didn’t mean to make a grind?! Wow. I guess Jon doesn’t run dungeons – OR hasnt looked at the dungeon gear prices. AND hasnt looked at what it takes to get legendaries. Because all of the above = bigger grind than I’ve seen in my last several MMOs.

I too will not be buying any more gems until some improvement is shown here. There are core issues at hand and the CEO is posting 50 page essays about security. I understand that’s important but also a misplaced focus from this customer’s point of view.

Meanwhile I’ll be in sPvP until that gets boring… so please hurry up Your ‘endgame reimagined’ touts getting away from repetition and treadmills but that’s all there is to do now in GW2 at max level… repeat the same events (fun the first few times to kill that dragon but come on), run the same broken/unrewarding dungeons, go farm in the one level 80 zone that is ALL undead with ALL mobs being Risen XYZ (some creativity please?!) – or snow trolls in Frostgorge… or grind Asia-market-MMO-style for legendary rewards. Ugh.

I want to fall endlessly in love with this game and have it be my home for a long time, I want to give you my money for gems when it makes sense… but you’re making it really hard!!!!!!!!

I don’t want to completely restrict anyone from playing the game, however surely you would rather fight more people than NPCs, right? I mean why queue up for wvw if all you are going to mostly fight is a handful of players defending or guards and keep lords anyways? You don’t want there to be any type of closer competition at all? I really hope that isn’t the case. Since this an idea thread, come up with an alternate idea instead just saying things are fine.

Talking from a US server perspective here:

You seem to be under the assumption that there is zero competition in off peak times. Not true. You may wake up and find whole maps belonging to one side but that doesn’t mean that there was no contest. Even when my server has controlled everything there were still a decent number of opposition players running around.

Obviously in the current match-ups things aren’t fine, but there are server rankings for a reason and next week should be a different story.

In a way you are right, I am kind of under that assumption, but it’s based off of what I see on my server. My guild will almost always have a great showing until at least around 2-3:00 AM EST, but then most of us simply just have to go to sleep to deal with RL and a work day like everyone else. While we are on, our server takes back land and points during prime-time because the playing filed, numbers wise, is even. However, by around 3:00 AM, we almost always have a the “outnumbered” buff, or whatever it’s called. We just simply can’t field enough people to make any decent counter that will stick. We simply don’t have the same amount of people to counter the dominant servers counter-attack. It all just boils down to numbers, it’s as simple as that.

I’m just suggesting/looking for ways to compromise so all servers can have an equal footing. I would think people would want that…. call me crazy.

I feel your pain… but if your server can’t ‘hold’ your stuff 24hrs a day, why should you get points for it 24hrs a day? Server populations seem to just be an inherent flaw in the WvW system that AN is unable to get a handle on unfortunately… It makes SO MUCH more sense to pool servers together on teams to even out the differences in population, but clearly whatever servers AN is using are unable to handle any kind of load so that’s just a pipedream. Let’s just hope they learn the lesson for GW3

This is the cornerstone of ‘endgame reimagined’ – oh, except that dragon event they want me to do every 2 hours or the 1 level 80 zone – so I sure hope they improve it soon. Asking people to change servers to fix the population crap (in the latest AN article) isn’t really a solution in my mind – they’re ignoring the root causes they created and to this day leave ongoing. Game developers make me sigh

Can you please make an option in the chat Report function for Gold sellers? None of them fit the activity exactly and let’s pls make it as easy as possible for people to report these.

I’ve also noticed the same names spamming across multiple days, indicating you’re not getting them out as fast as some of us (me at least) would like.

Please do more to get these people out of the game!!

This game and its dungeons require a different kind of thought process than MMOs before it, the movements aren’t so scripted that you can do the “side step this fire 30 seconds into the fight when standing on X, make sure you’re at Y at 35 seconds because of Y boss/add ability, stay at Y for 10 seconds until you see their head rear back, then move to Z. Those are the phases, rinse and repeat.” type of fight strategy. I’ve been in a few groups running Story and Explorer modes and I can honestly say that, despite the repair bill, I enjoyed every minute of them. The add/boss AoE is fairly random and taking a hit is a big deal that adds the appropriate amount of stress for you to say “NOPE!” and remember the “tell” for the next time that particular swing comes your way.

I think of it like this: Every profession in this game can off-heal, off-tank, and DPS reasonably well, with some professions doing it a bit better than others as a baseline. That means that your group strategy needs to account for the abilities of the individuals in the group; sometimes that clothie is gonna have to take a few hits while the guardian/ranger/thief/etc gets certain abilities off of cool down and can move back into soaking the damage while the rest of the group moves into a better position to provide support/damage/etc. You actually have to play as a team rather than rely on a decent healer and tank to carry everything while the DPS can just stand in the fire/traps/direct line of attack.

Situational Awareness, you have to have it in this game. If you want to do the “stay out of the scripted fire dance”, I hear WoW added Kung-Fu Panda to the game.

Yes that’s true, it’s different. But perhaps it’s too different for the majority of players to accept.

You can stand there and say “you suck” all you like… which you are implying… enjoy being the last one standing.

The simple fact that you’re allowed to res and run back in is ridiculous to me. It shows laziness on the part of the encounter designers to BALANCE the risk and rewards. Implement LIMITS on time / resources / anything and make a real challenge; not one that very few can succeed at without enormous expense of gold or time.

Completely random aggro that makes dodging pointless because 2 dodges won’t get you out of the damage and the damage is so HIGH that you’re down AND dead… Really?! LOL is all I can say. Go learn situational combat from Tera, they knew how to do it – wait for it – and make it FUN.

Agree. If it’s supposed to be this hard, then the rewards are WAY out of whack. I’d rather go chase down karma or farm crap to sell than this.

The time, the repair cost, the totally crap item drops, the few tokens against ONE piece of gear after 7 successful runs……… no thanks

You got a lot of things right in GW2 – the risk/reward of dungeons isn’t one of them though. At least for me.
