I came here to post the same thing. Scarlet was a puppeteer. The Scarlet that was killed was not really her. Just a puppet that she controlled.

Agreed. I read on Reddit that the last line about “the charade ends here” was not the same voice actor that did Scarlet, but it sure sounds a lot like Scarlet. Seeing Scarlet alive would definitely provoke the response we see from Kas.

I don’t know if you can use voice actors as reasoning. I mean was I the only one cringing when listening to Valette Wi and then Taimi seconds later? She does other characters too, but they needed to do something more to differentiate those 2 voices by the same actress.

I’m going to reiterate my love of the return of Guild Wars style cinematics!

The “face-to-face” style was way overused, and it lacked the action that guild wars 1 missions had.

Please keep the cinematics coming team!

Revenant Graphical Bug solved

I have been having problems with a very low res smoke effect when I was using riposting shadows. I have been able to figure out the exact problem. Wearing Zodiac skin <chest> armor while using that skill causes the broken smoke effect. Took off the piece in question and it animates normally. Probably a conflict with that special blue part of the skin.

I’m not that mad about no healer class (I love to be healer). But I don’t see why they didn’t just make every class have a healing tree in order to combat this. So instead of a singular monk class you just had 8 classes that could be monk.

HoT Has 4 PvE Maps [Confirmed]

There are 4 mini-maps, the total is equal to one normal map. Discard their pr speak about layers, it’s not innocent that in their beta week ends they only show a tiny part of their mini-maps. Given all the problems they had with this tiny demonstrations, it should be normal that they want to beta test all the mini-maps before the launch, wich is near. But they don’t, they only show a little part of a little map. Prepare to be disapointed.

The available content in Verdant Brinks beta map has already completely annihilated your opinion.

Your GPU-Z screen shows its only running in 8x mode. Is it installed in the PCI-E slot closest to the CPU? That’s generally the full speed x16 slot,though some manufacturers are making the x16 the 2nd PCI-E slot to give the GPU more room between the CPU heatsink+fan.

Pci express 3.0 at 8x is equal to 2.0 x16. No cards use that bandwidth yet.

I am having the audio bugs during my personal story missions too. It randomly wont say one line and then the next line will be fine. It only seems to be in dialogue cutscenes. I have submitted a bug report.

You all seem to be nice enough on here, so if you can add me as a student I would appreciate the teaching. I main a guardian, think I understand the class more than most, but not quite expert level. I still need 3 story paths so before I tackle any more explorable paths I will have to finish those with my guild mates. Looking forward to learning more about each profession too. I am a day 1 buyer, I just have never really had anyone to teach me specifics.

Basically the OP is operating under the assumption that 1/6/1/6 will still be necessary…At this point you just do not know what %’s are on those descriptors. This looks a whole lot better than having a bunch of traits that never get used.

ps….also its about time they get rid of those roman numerals on traits!

Why is silk going up in price?

Not going to bother reading much beyond the first page and some comments by the dev. He mentions availability. My question is why isn’t the cloth line of the basic materials available via nodes from day 1? They are the 4th type after metal/wood/plants. We already have rare mats like claws and such that can’t be noded.

I think cloth nodes should be added to the world…kill sheep for wool…kill silk wurms for silk(or maybe just harvest their nests.) The thing is you have to be guaranteed at least 3 pieces per node just like the other sources. The animals all exist in the game already for this to be implemented.

As it is the only gem store node I purchased was the cloth one because you have no other guaranteed place to get cloth unlike the 3 other classes of mats.

TL;DR : I don’t think it makes a difference what the recipe calls for as long as we have a way of getting it like the other mats of its class (metal/wood/plants). There is no reason for it to fill the void that rare mats already fill (they are not available at nodes).

Am I right in thinking that specializations will get access to 1 previously locked weapon +some other not locked weapons?
Meaning new skills for other weapon they have access to? I mean if a druid really is going to be different from a ranger than I would expect all its weapon skill to be different as well…That is a a lot of new skills for each profession.

So, if I remember correctly, Arenanet said we would never have to pay for an exspansion for GW2. We would get the exspansions periodically for free. Additionally, it sounds very much like if you don’t buy it, you will get left behind, no longer have a living story, and really get screwed on WvW (what guild would want half the members that can’t enter all the maps and support their guild).
You can add a lot of flash, but making WvW unbalanced (the new map does that by limiting it to people with the exspansion) even more. You never made Jewelry and cooking to 500, never listened to the players to find out what they wanted, especially in WvW. WvW has been totally ignored by Anet, except when you tinker with it and screwed it up with stupid cannons in EOTM, no white swords, and siege disablers.
These are the reasons people have lost interest. I won’t be spending money on mostly PvE flash, which they should have given us for free like they promised anyways. You want to increase interest, listen to the people who play. Fix the problems, and see what people want

You remember incorrectly :Colin directly said (in 2012)(on these forums no less)that there will be monthly free content (living world) then in the next sentence he said they will be making full fledged expansions as well.

Why? I assume everything is going to be balanced even beyond release? All specializations do is add some depth to a class, they do not overpower that class. Sure there will be pains in the early days while people learn to counter the new specs and class, but it will even out.

It is no different then facing a tanking warrior rather than a support warrior. You just play against him differently.

Has it been confirmed it is only possible to glide in the jungle, I assumed so but haven’t had a quote yet confirming or denying.

IF they are worried about diving rocks being broken they can just make the goggles cancel out the glider. Or in jumping puzzles just have gliders be disabled and issued a cooldown for the paths you have to take. Plenty of ways around breaking the rest of the game I think. Then again, where else would you use gliders. They seem to have made maguma a lot more vertical.

Agree with most of the sentiments here. LA needs to have reminders of the past, but not be the same as it once was. Anet should also take this chance to move the bank and TP closer to each other… OR!

Better yet a patch that would allow us to keep our banks open as long as we were in the map, like GW1 had. It’s probably a server load issue though so that may not be plausible.

I really hope Living story season 1 is a priority. IT is kind of important leading into the expansion. New players keep saying they are lost. The lack of its availability is a barrier to returning for many. Even if some of the harder things to recreate were just cut-scenes.

Also, I wonder if leading up to expansion release we will get the back-story of Rytlock and his journey, or if that will be just told in the expansion.

Pretty sure Soule signed an exclusivity deal with SOE, soe his work on anything else he has been involved with is over. Loved his music though. Got a signed gw2 soundtrack . New composer seems to be doing really well though.

The ritual was a direct pull from guild wars 1 . 3 missions in the desert were those exact rituals. It was nice and nostalgic for me.

By far the best idea is to continually evolve the landscapes of affected zones. Those pieces of metal and wood should naturally be used by the locals to rebuild, you could even make that feed into the living world. Help a new town develop. Mysterious entity X sees this, is impressed, advances the story.

I agree with most people though; it is really hard for new people who didnt get to see LA as it was and have no connection to it. Rebuiding it in different ways is best. i.e do what you did when the lighthouse was destroyed by the karka; build the bridge to the other side. If you truly want a living story, you need to show more progress quicker.
