The moderator might of been misinformed.
Like I said in the other thread, I have seen nothing that states that the Lost Shores patch is today. The only thing that is coming today is the friend invite thing.
Lost Shores doesn’t start till November 16th at 12PM PST.
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/the-game/releases/november-2012/Everything that I’ve seen up to this point said the event started on the 16th the but the acutall patch with all the other stuff that is being added besided the event stuff was today, the 5 pages of skill updates, the legendary changes etc.
Where does it say this though? Everyone keeps saying that it is on the 15th and they read that Anet said it is on the 15th, yet no one has a link to this information.
Because the places I’ve seen it, the article is either not available anymore (the Anet post talking about it that was on the front page) or the Lost Shores page, which has been changed to no longer say anything about when the actual patch is hitting.
The Lost Shores page, when it was put up, said the patch would hit on the 15th, it said the patch would hit on the 15th, until the update that added all the new information, where the part that said the patch would be applied today, mysteriously dissapeared.
You people are sad. It says the 16th(!) everywhere except for the friend trial.
Nowhere has it said 15th. 15th is a thursday, 16th is a friday, 16th makes sense, 15th doesnt. Lost shores goes live at 2100 CET (12.00 PST) tomorrow on the 16th, not the 15th. Patch will be earlyish tomorrow morning sometime CET.
Learn to look on the forums.
They actually said the patch would hit on the 15th, until yesterday or the day before when they updated the Lost Shores page, it said the patch would be today, and the events would start tomorrow.
It was also available on the Lost Shores page, until yesterday that the patch would be on the 15th, and the events would start on the 16th
Considering the simple fact that I don’t actually think any of the Legendaries look nice in their entirety, I can agree with this post. Perhaps, what they should’ve done, instead of making the Legendaries look like terrible light shows and give flashy footsteps or turn stupid pages, or shoot rainbows or whatever BS, they should’ve made them look nice, and then worried about adding effects, though with no effects that’d have been even better. I’d kill to be able to turn off the silly Particle Effect BS on most of the weapons armor that has them, because they don’t do anything but make the stuff look ugly or uglier.
Take the Greatswords, as an example, the Hilts/Crossguards look amazing, but then the weapon is completely ruined by the blade that looks like a shovel, with a terrible skyscape effect, on TOP of leaving stupid glowy footsteps behind.
The Shield, would have been AMAZING if it didn’t glow like some sort of lightbulb and have “flickering” kittening pages.
I’m not even going to go into the Friendship is magic bow, or the Hammer, Or Bifrost, or the other out of water weapons, that all have stupid completely ruining particle effects or character effects.
Of course, I’m also not trying to get any, because I don’t like them, but that doesn’t mean I can’t wish there were some I wanted to get, so that the goal atleast was a viable goal. Unfortunately, like most of the weapons, or armor sets in the game, they all have parts that are wonderful, but then (especially in the case of armor sets) have two or three pieces that completely ruin the entire set, forcing you to mix and match (which is fine) pieces to get nice looking sets. I would so enjoy for them to make an entire set of armor or set of weapons that actually looked nice across the board.
This is not an attack on the detail of those armor sets/weapon sets/legendaries as when there is detail, it’s often very obvious and well made, but more a comment on the…well, lets just say that GW1’s weapons/armor were generally better looking, in the sense that they looked good as a whole, not as individual pieces. The shift in Art direction and cohesiveness from GW1 to GW2 and the shift in the completely silly Anime style BS shoulders/shovel swords/etc. is one that while the world looks amazing, the armor/weapons do not add to this look, but in many cases they detract from it.
We run one-time events at the time where we have the highest concurrency.
hmmm thanks for the input, but this sentence doesn’t make any sense.
but still thanks for the added input
That sentence makes perfect sense. They run events on the days/time they have the MOST people playing. Which is Noon PST on the weekends. They can’t please everyone, so what they’re doing is pleasing as many as they can.
Yup, no difference, is it because I’m a Charr? With or Without Auto-Attack, it makes no difference as far as how long it takes.
I’ve tried that, it makes no noticable difference for me, I’m probably just too slow on the button-presses. Ah well, s’ok, it’s not like it really matters.
As an aside, when I dodge and spam 1 for the 3rd chain, it doesn’t abort the dodge until the dodge is done, and then goes through the animation, so, yeah, not seeing any difference at all.

I’ve been trying to get the dodge hit thing, on my guardian, but it seems to have no effect at all when I dodge after the second hit in the auto-attack chain. Wether I dodge, forward, left, right, back, it still does the entire animation. Not sure what I’m doing wrong. >_<
I hope and expect they will not add new classes, but new races, weapons and skills.
Having used it and the signet in my build, I can tell you it’s a continous countdown that starts as soon as you equip it, and keeps ticking constantly, I’ve seen it remove conditions the second they were placed, and I’ve also been forced to wait sometimes for conditions placed on me to tick for ages, or even run out (if they last less than 10 seconds)
I’m loving my Black and White Moa’s they’re awesome. AoE Healing, Vulnerability, And either AoE Daze or AoE Regen. What more could I want?
Hey so the problem I’m finding, and pretty much everyone I know on the game, is the dungeons hold no reason to be completed other than cosmetic apparel (Which I and many other have no interest in at all) and for an achievement. I would LOVE to do these dungeons, if there was a nice reward like upgraded gear and what not. But I have full exotics, so where is the reason to run through these dungeons to acquires blues for myself?
It’s pretty much the only reason why I’m getting so terribly bored with the game, even though the PvP is SO well designed and balanced :/
I you have no interest in Cosmetic Apparel, GW2 is not the game for you. Which is perfectly fine, but that is what the goal of progression is for the end-game, once you’re exoticed out, you’re done, as far as the geargrind goes, not just for the current content, or until the next expansion, (if GW1 is any indication) but, for good. That’s it, you’re done progressing in gear. This means, that if you’re looking for Gear progression in PvE/WvW you might be better off heading to play another MMO (I hear Rift Expansion is coming out in November, and MoP is hitting the shelves in 10 days)
Crafting Obviously wasn’t meant to be a way to make money in GW2, but a way to make stuff for yourself, hence why it’s so easy, and why you can max out all 8 crafts on a single character.
Guys. Once again, OP is one of the few people, who actually share their findings as to the legendaries. If he will manage to find out the exact recipe everybody win. So, gl on that:) It’s rather exciting to follow that thread on gw2guru. Mysteries:D
Speaking about the opinion that “6 month is just fine for them to be rare”, i got a feeling, if it was 2 years instead of 6 month, you people would say the same:)
Something always have to stay rare. But months of non-stop farm for hardcore people means NOBODY of general player base can’t hope to get it for themselves in ANY reasonable timeframe (like couple of years). Then what is the point of having an achievement for getting one on everybody’s char select screen? To tease with a thing you never gonna get?:)
Yes, that is exactly the point of the achievement
Assumptions are simply that. I recommend doing some more research so you can base your time estimates on facts. That said, Legendaries are meant to be a long term investment and we made them super cool so as to be worth that long term investment. Anyone I see with a Legendary will certainly have my respect and yes, I do plan on one day crafting one myself.
There is another way of getting Mystic Clovers than the known recipe that has a random out put (10 Obsidian Shards + 10 Ectoplasm + 10 Crystal + 10 Coins = 20-50 of a random t6 material) Confirm/Deny?
She’s not gonna confirm or deny, she just told you to go find out for yourself, instead of going by peoples assumptions :P And stop making wild crazy time estimates based on other peoples assumptions, instead figure it out for yourself, in game.

I’ve been able to join guilds until September 28th, when I was suddenly unable to join any guilds at all, it’s been going permanently since then.
I get the following error message.
network error .
please check your internet connection and try again. (code=3040:1002:3:1930:101)
This happens with any guild invite I’ve recieved, and I currently have one from [LooM] on my server, where my friends from GW1 play, that i’m unable to play with now.
