Logged on for wvw raiding at 7pm GMT+1, could play maybe 15 minutes before seeing people rubberbanding everywhere, teleporting everywhere, all my skills froze etc.
Set the graphics to “best performance” which didn’t change anything of course.
Now, I usually get the “can’t connect to the login server” error message, or I get as far to the character selection, select a character and load into Lion’s Arch eternally, until I after 5-10 minutes ctrl+alt+delete.
Never had these issues before the patch, not sure if the patch is the reaspm though.
Firewall, ports, anti-virus disabled.
Restarted my router as well.
Having the same thing.
Having this exact same thing right now, couldn’t log in for several attempts, and then when I finally managed to get on, I’m lagging so much and using a waypoint is taking up to a whole minute. This is coming from a person who almost never has lags in this game, so something is obviously up.

I really like crab tossing. SAB? Got bored of that after getting all those achievements. I want to crab toss even after this story is over.
For me, my client just had to restart and is downloading now. Odd! I saw guildies on the guild panel being in Canach’s Lair already. Oh well.
I’m going for Bifrost, I have all the gifts and 202 gold.
So I just need to raise 390~ more gold! ._.
I’m on Aurora Glade (European server) and it’s up here. Either the patch downloaded while I was away or I don’t know what’s up.
Hello everybody, today I put like my 100th time of four rare staves into the mystic forge and got back a carrion krait short bow. That does not make sense. This happened to me previously two months or so back, I put in four staves and got a trident.
I’m intrigued, has anyone else had issues with this?
Confirming that, two hours later, it’s still working on Vabbi (European).
Same on Aurora Glade
Hello, so me and others in Aurora Glade have been farming and doing events on and around Winterknell Shore, just north of Gavebeorn’s Waypoint. However, a few days ago, something changed and has rendered that area completely unplayable. Even without anyone around, the lag is bad enough to look like a very slow stop motion picture.
I also tried changing spot and try to farm some icebrood colossus, and the same issue there. Less mobs and particle effects, but major lag.
In an attempt to see if this was gamewide or not, I’ve guested to other servers and noticed that on some other servers, this sudden lag is there, but on some there’s nothing. Whiteside Ridge is one of those places – there’s nothing to hinder you from playing and farming.
Something must have happened a few days ago. Something broke in Aurora Glade, and I know I am not the only one who’s affected by this. I just hope somebody will look into this.
Happens here too, I just restart. And to answer Kyllaa.1385, I’m on pc.
Same on Aurora Glade!
Just speaking to my guildie about this right now and we’re both feeling very uncomfortable with this situation. Not knowing what’s going on and why people were banned in the first place just leaves the rest of us in the dark leading to the point where you don’t know what you can and can’t do. For now, we’re thinking to just stick with dailies and dungeon runs.
Would farming a very profitable place be considered an exploit? Or grinding the same area for hours just because you CAN be considered “botting”? I am personally putting down a lot of time grinding for my first legendary, so how am I now supposed to feel safe about doing just what the game offers me?
I understand that you and other player are expressed concerns about this. I want to put your mind at ease.
- We don’t ban without review.
- We’re gamers too, and some of us are really into farming. Farming a rich area doesn’t make you a botter or an exploiter. Now, naturally, Botters and exploiters can farm a rich area right alongside the legitimate player, but we do understand the distinction.
- If someone is banned (account terminated) or even suspended, they can appeal and the team will review the situation yet again.
- If we make an error, we are not afraid to say it, and we do not hesitate to reinstate an account that is suspended or terminated in error.
Thank you ever so much for this. With this comment, I will resume my regular farming for my legendary as I am investing my free time to do so without trying to tweak anything in-game. I really appreciate the answers you have gone out with tonight.

Thank you very much.
Really, did no one else attempt to infuse any of the new rings yet?
Hello!
I bought the Cirque of Arah ascended ring, with every intention of infusing it at the Mystic Forge right away. To my surprise, the ring did not show up in my inventory in the Mystic Forge tab. And yes, I did check multiple times that I had unequipped it and that it wasn’t in an invisible bag. Everything else that could possibly go in there could be selected.
I guess this might be a mistake since the update? That maybe they didn’t update the recipes for infusing ascended rings to the new ones? I’m letting it rest in the bank until it can be infused. Would be great to know if anyone else has had this problem, and whether or not it’s specific for just Cirque of Arah or if it has to do with all the new rings?
Same here. I’m not very computer savvy so I thank you for the solution, it’ll have to do for now.
I love the mini-games, this entire holiday and while not being able to join as a team at first was confusing, I really have no problem with it anymore. Can’t believe this is such a big deal to many people.
Too bad you feel that way. I am absolutely overwhelmed by the awesomeness of this event and I have nothing really to complain about.
This is the best event so far and I’ve already enjoyed it immensely! The snowball fight, Tixx Infinirarium, the bell choir, the jumping puzzle – it’s a gorgeous event and a great way to celebrate the holidays in game. So a huge thank you to Arena Net!
Come on, they’re going by PST not GMT, it should be obvious by now. As frustrating at it can be, that’s the deal. And for all of those of you who participated on Halloween and The Lost Shores, you should know by now that it means well after midnight for us Europreans.
Best idea in a long while. I just had to use a converter to check what time 10AM PST would be in GMT. So, hopefully they will start using that timezone as well for future events and such.
This is what it keeps saying in my trading post panel, and I have been trying for quite some time today. Seems like picking up cash works, but not browsing for things on the trading post or gem store. Anyone else have this problem?
Hey all.
After the patch, I went to the Eternal Battlegrounds jumping puzzle with some guild mates (and failed horribly at jumping, although that issue has been discussed elsewhere). We happened upon the rich orichalum ore vein but were only able to mine from it once. No biggie, I thought, such a small bug is bound to happen!
But then, continuing in WvW, I came across two separate rich mithril veins – and they could also only be mined once. Before the patch yesterday, I came across many rich veins and mined them, so something must have happened.
I love my elementalist, both the ups and the downs!
CITIZENS! At the very least, mute him.
That is weird, I just finished my exploration a couple of days ago and got my GoE instantly.
While at it lets fix bosses on Niflhel. Chieftain is significantly harder to solo than svanir. Mine is easier to defend than henge (on henge ranged attacker can los on higher ground really good) and the Keep point is moved to the left hitting the wall and it’s possible to cap the point while being entirely hidden behind the wall.
That’s the point, though. The disadvantages of locations and advantages of others, etc. Otherwise it wouldn’t be a particularly diverse structure.
I used to be like that, really. In World of Warcraft, I would try PvPing a couple of times but there wasn’t much diversity and I did not really get into it. After trying it out a couple of times in GW2, however, I was hooked. By no means was I a great PvPer (still ain’t!) but I get better with every time and learn new strategic things. WvW was the way I got into it (and it’s honestly still my favourite type of PvP) and I continued on to structured PvP as well.
I think PvP is really a sort of “trial and error” type of thing. You can’t go there and expect to know how everything functions, the good strategies contra the bad, you win some, you lose some. Experiencing this is what will make you a great PvPer.
I solo’d all my story quests on my elementalist, no problems.
Sure, it was challenging but definitely doable.
Honestly, I get disappointed when people think everything is too hard. Maybe you need better gear, or practice dodging, or a different strategy? The difficulty of this game is what makes it so good, in my opinion. And while I do like WOW, one of the main reasons why I couldn’t play anymore was the feeling that everything was just given to us. No, I play this game to be challenged. The bigger satisfaction when I actually make it!
Had it too, but am protected in more ways than one so I, too, think this is a bug on Anet’s table.
22 years old and am absolutely loving it.
Despite being on a crowded server, I decided to undertake most of my challenges from level 1 to 80 solo. It’s not impossible, but to me it almost sounds like it’s the social counterpart you’re lacking?
I honestly think its good that something is throttling the creation of Omnomberry Bars. They provide such an overpowered loot modifier that if all of their ingredients were cheap, everyone would be running around with them active all the time, which would be incredibly broken.
This is exactly what I’m getting at!
Honestly, though, I’m annoyed about the lack of vanilla but at the same time it needs to be challenging. I don’t mind it.
