Couple things here. For leveling I would only look to power stats. Condi doesn’t really come into its own until you are 80 and geared (imo). Stealth builds are fun but mainly reserved for pvp.
Check out metabattle.com for some high level thief build concepts. For talents I would take Deadly Arts, Critical Strikes and Trickery as you level up and play around at 80. Obviously once you get DareDevil you will learn the staff but for leveling those are the three trait lines i would take.
Small tip but for great healing take signet of malice and the invigorating precision talent (critical strikes). Equip P/P and unload to refill your health bar.
Can anyone recommend a good S/S HoT build? I’m looking for DPS and survivability.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks, Khisanth. Appreciate the timely response.
So I’m almost done making the precursor and I understand all of the crafting needs except the following:
- Crafting Material Gift
- Themed Gift
The wiki isn’t entirely clear to me on these two subjects as it relates to the new Sword Legendary. If anyone has done this already and can provide some guidance it would be much appreciated. Thanks!
I hear you. Dagger’s are little small in the hands of my Norn War. But is there precedent for Wars using Daggers in GW1?
Hi Warrior Family – Just sitting here thinking about those Dagger leaks for our class. Wanted to get everyone’s thoughts on whether you think Daggers will be condi or power. Do we need a melee condi weapon? Do you think Daggers will provide more mobility? Would they perhaps provide some defense…against magic?
Are there any precedents in GW1 for instance which would inform us of how warriors would use daggers?
Hi all,
I’ve been playing around with a zerker war using 2 maces and I was wondering if anyone knows of or could help with a build. I generally don’t use maces so I’m not 100 percent sure about the correct synergies among the talents for mace.
I know probably no one uses duel maces for pve but figured lets try it to keep things interesting. Thanks!
Assuming I go full Condi with D/D and SB, does anyone have a good solo PVE build?
Thanks for the responses thus far!
Hi All,
For PVE I was wondering what type of build would use the short bow: power or condi?
What about the same question for pistols?
Thanks!
Just not a fan of the silly wpns. It would be different if they were releasing 2 legendary’s, one serious and one silly. But as it is I now have to wait for the next release and HOPE it’s actually not a 5 years old’s version of a wpn.
Yea I looked through the video a couple times and didn’t see anything. Usually they put something in there but not this time.
Hope that doesn’t portend any legendary wpn issues in the next LS…
Hi All,
Question for you math folks. How much might equals 5% dmg? I’m trying to figure out if its worth it to take a sigil of strength over sigil of force.
Thanks!
Lets say I have a MM build using the Blood Magic trait line. My question is…do the Vampiric and Vampiric Presence talent traits stack for xtra healing? Also for Vampiric Presence do the minions take advantage of this trait as well?
Finally for those of you who use all your minions what strat do you use to increase your speed since you wont be using your signet? Do you use certain runes?
Thanks!
Personally I like the Norns for heavy armor. Especially the very large body type. Always played giant type toons in mmos so…
I would suggest the Charr as well but something about running on all fours turns me off. But when they do stand up they look pretty fierce in heavy armor as well.
Mounts? YES. YES. and YES. We already have them in the form of a carpet and broom. Why not keep that functionality but add cool mounts!?!?!
It is literally the only thing I dislike about this game is the fact we don’t have mounts.
Not a fan of wearing heavy armor and carrying a pig stick. What they should do is create new weapon types like GREATAXE! I had to capitalize the letters because it just felt like the right thing to do.
I’m familiar with the way legendary’s work. I own a dozen.
Being the owner of so many, including T2 ones, I’ve come to the conclusion that the Eureka footfalls on male Norns do not look correct. I’m used to astralaria and neverwinter’s footfalls. But Eureka footfalls are way short. Has to be an issue with the graphics because I cant believe it would be intended. Especially with the amount of work someone puts into making them.
I just made Eureka on my Norn and really love the look of the weapon. However, on the Norn I can barely see the footfalls. I’m not talking about the duration mind you. I have no problem with the T2 axe and staff that I own. But for some reason the footfalls of the mace on the Norn are non existent. Is this a known issue or are they working as intended?
I’m hoping for a new hammer. The current one is so underwhelming to me (even though I have it :p). Otherwise a new sword and scepter would be nice.
Looks like the mail carrier they released not to long ago…
I’m not sure anyone knows but its been happening for several weeks now. I also think its client side so the figures placement will be unique to each user. Don’t quote me on that though.
Yes. That is all.
Been making suggestions like this as well. For something which requires such a time investment its surprising there are no achievements for it (well almost none :p). Personally I would love individual titles for each legendary AND titles for the amount of legendary’s you own.
Thanks I’ll take a look. I was playing around with rev condi last night and had a lot of fun. Its a completely different play style then I’m used to which I’m loving actually. I did manage to get ascended vipers on all armor and switched to that stat on my legendaries, but I’m struggling finding the ascended Sinister trinkets. I have an amulet and will need to grind badges in SW for a ring, but outside of that what is the best avenue to get those trinkets? Are there Viper ascended outside of raids I could grind for?
Now with the new legendary out I’m sure some condi revs will be making it. I was wondering though as someone who dabbles in this class occasionally, ARE there any good PVE condi builds? Anything viable in open world, meta events, dungeons/fractals? Also what are you using besides Mace/Axe as your second set?
Just trying to educate myself some more on this class. Thanks all!
Honestly I liked almost all of these. I especially like the Legendary Weapons achievements. With the effort involved I have no idea why we don’t have chieves for those. Adding a title for each one would be nice.
It would take some time and effort but the payout would be immense. This is something I would envision coming with an expac as well.
I was on reddit this past week and came across a suggestion in one of the threads. Bear in mind this is NOT my idea and I take NO credit for it, however I thought it was such an awesome concept that I wanted to put it in front of my fellow gamers. Please access the address below to see what some amazing person did with his creative mind.
I use soul reaping since I dont really need the healing from blood magic. We have a second health bar after all. Plus I like staying in my reaper form for longer. But it is a personal preference.
I’d like my money back for this as well. Anyone know how to go about that?
I know we are beating this dead horse, but for me, making Legendaries was my end game. I have around a dozen and I LOVED the collection series. But I understand if they can no longer spend the time on building out the collections. I’m sure its a ton of work. With that said though, why not just release them like they did with the original batch? The one thing I would hate to see is them not released at all until AFTER the new expansion. Because they would STILL have the same concerns and issue then as they do now.
You’re right they may be tied to legendary armor which would make me very very sad.
But hey, they took legendary weapons away from us so why not bring something back in the form of exclusive titles. It would be a quick band aid to the GW2 community but in the end I think it would provide just a little bit more incentive to us.
Ahh ok, that’s good to know, slashlizardy.
I remember reading on reddit that some legendary type titles were data mined. Here is the thread on it. Take note of the titles section from that_shaman. Could these be for legendary weapons?!?!
I agree with your comment on owned and equipped. Makes a lot of sense. I personally think adding a title/achievement wouldn’t be too much work but then again I’m not in the industry.
There was an achievement for obtaining 2 legendary’s but I’m not sure its still obtainable.
Who would be interested in receiving a unique title for each legendary you make? So along with your weapon you receive a unique title which fits the type of weapon you made. I think it would add a little extra flavor to the legendary weapon process and reward us for going through the process.
The other option would be to give us titles based on how many legendary’s we’ve made. So we would receive a titles for the first legendary, then the 5th, then the 10th etc.
I would like to tap into the creativity of the GW2 community and ask you to provide some titles based on the criteria I mentioned above.
I’ll start it with Nevermore…title: Raven Master
Obtaining 1 legendary…title: Legendary (duh).

I definitely appreciate the communication, Bobby. I was worried I was missing out on some crucial lore which would be connected to the next LS. It’s good to know the lore wont be gated behind the raiding.
Having open communication like this just reinforces my commitment and dedication to this game and company. Thank you.
I’m a fan of both really, but for Foefire you have to like the color blue. Having a sword like that will dictate the kind of dyes you use. Whereas Sunrise has more options available to it imo. Definitely don’t go for Eternity. Its ever switching between Sunrise and Twilight is a pain in the kitten to get right with your style

Lets be clear, we are not asking for easy content. Let the raiders have their fun. God knows I was one of those folks not to long ago in WoW. Make it as hard as it can be for that segment of players to enjoy.
What we are asking for though is a story instance so we can enjoy playing through the lore and not miss out on anything. Reading or seeing a youtube vid is ok, but we play a video game and having a story instance would just feel right.
I wish they had a solo form map with no raid bosses. Just normal mobs and the NPCs that you could speak to.
I’d settle for a way to just tick a box and you go in after it’s been “cleared” by the troops and your just there for “reports”
I absolutely love that idea. Being able to enter the cleared area as a non-combatant / researcher would be a great way for non-Raiders to explore the areas and soak in some of the lore while also being lore-friendly itself. It absolutely makes sense that people would want to enter the cleared out areas to investigate the goings on.
Heck, I’d love to see something like that for dungeons even. I’m sure there’s some interesting stuff in there that most people never see during regular dungeon play.
All great ideas. Lore is such an important part of this game that its nice when the game caters to casual lore hounds like myself. Especially if the raid lore is some sort of lead up to the next LS season.
Yea I meant a story mode, which would make a lot of sense imo.
I totally get we can read about it but its nice to play through it. I do appreciate your response and hope we get a story mode at some point.
Is there anyway for non raiders to experience all the new lore? Does anyone know if there is something in the pipeline for solo instances just to play through the new lore? Thanks!
Unfortunately with a wife, kids and demanding job I just don’t have time to raid
Having the same issue as well. Will send bug report.
Seems like I cant switch to Personal since I completed that. Dont feel like finishing LS2 for the fourth time
You might be right. Which would explain things. But hopefully there is a way to turn off LS2 too.
I’m on my 4 character and have been through living world season 2 a few times. I would like to remove the green text at the top right of the UI if possible. I’ve already tried going to settings and turning off the content guide to “Disable Personal Story” and even “Off” and yet the text/guide at the top right of the UI continues to be there. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong? I’m currently at The Dragons Reach Part 1 of LS2.
Ahh ok. Glad I don’t have to complete the TD meta, cause that kitten never completes.
Hi all,
So I’m 13/14 right now and I’m not sure how Protector of the Great Tree is done. Do I need to be fighting and complete the Ogre Lane for the Meta OR do other quests associated with the Ogre camp waypoint? If it’s the latter what exactly should be done? Could really use some guidance figuring this out. Thanks community!
