or you remove the godkitten ed AoE limit on certain skills in WvW already. this is one of the main, if not THE main aspect that rewards blobbing over <20 guild raids. if i, god forbid, place an explosive in a group of 50 stacked people, they will most probably ALL die, if the explosive was strong enough. not just 5 people. ALL of them.

you aren’t suppose/expected to defeat 5 times your number of human opponents anyway.

Skill exist and is important in WvW as long as the numbers aren’t ridiculously disproportionate. The hard rezing isn’t a problem. The number of opponents you decided to attack was. I’ve no problem about Yoloing myself into the fray but I won’t go whine about it when I hit the ground.

i’m not saying it should be easy to kill double your numbers or more and i am pretty sure that OP is not suggesting that either. but it’s a fact, that the combat system has it’s flaws when it comes to larger scale fights. to NOT complain about these flaws is not the way to get some improvements.
in the end, it is up to arena net to decide which course would be suited best, but until they reach a decision, it is up to US to suggest everything that comes to mind. even if it’s out of desperation and considered whining by some elite blob warriors.

By your logic if no AoE cap, a Guild group would even die faster, because your melee train is gonna take alot more damage where damage mitigation is basicly gone at that point, imagine a 50 man blob V 20 guild group, theres 10 necro’s in the enemy blob that means 20 wells on top if you proc’ing 1-2K if not more per pulse on not 5 but 20 people, you’d die even faster than usual, except if enemy blob is bad and can’t aim skills for kitten yeah then the guild group is at an advantage

You only think that about no AoE cap because of the current gw2 tactic of blobbing up. If you played with 5 or less, or basically every other game ever made, you’d know the worst thing to do when fighting outnumbered is hold hands. You can avoid huge amounts of dmg by standing behind your enemy. You can whittle groups down by giving them too many targets, causing them to split up. Only because of the meta do you see 50v20 and not 50 v 4×5

White Sword Removal Very Helpful

The only thing I care about is fights, and the most boring thing ever is fighting people you outnumber.

Before this change my group of 5 or less would roll up on a BL map and do a full circle taking camps. If we were lucky we’d get 1 fight, if we were super lucky it would be vs more than 2, even rarer was something manageable like 10-15, usually it was 30. If we tried any tower or keep we’d be delayed by 1 defender until we’d get rolled by 30, or just rolled by 30.

After the patch we changed tactics. Roll on a BL map and take a camp, then the nearest tower, then the nearest keep. By the time we’re attacking inner keep there is almost always a fight, but unlike before its usually a stream of 1-2, then 5-10, then 30, so we at least have a chance.

Overall I’d say the change was good. Before I could log out after 2 hours of play having had 1 crappy fight, now I log having had a few crappy fights and 1 good one. Hopefully players adapt and stop holding hands with every other person they come across.

WvW Sneak Attack

The only thing white swords ever did was alert people that a small group was attacking something. Blobs melt gates before the 30 seconds is up, and even a duo can have a camp halfway taken by the time the swords pop.

As someone else said, if you’re using white swords to scout for you you’re doing it wrong, regardless of population.

Am I doing something wrong ?

When I roam I almost always go to an enemy BL. If our BL is all ours I’ll go there because usually there will be roamers/small groups taking camps/sentries in the south.

In an enemy BL I take 2 camps and patrol between them, usually south and whichever is closest to our spawn. Tap all keeps and towers nearby, and if no one comes along add a 3rd camp. My favorite camp to defend is quarry. People coming to take it usually drop over the cliff and you can tag them before they OOC regen. The tower in the middle is good for LoS, and the mini cliffs can be used to separate you and melee. You can also kite them to the jump puzzle/skritt or back to the vet wurm, both are tucked away so there’s less chance of other people adding.

My best advice for BLs is pull fights to the outside of the map or to the center capture zones, and try your best to laugh each time you die.

WvW solo roaming tips

Once you have your class under your fingers a really important thing is where you fight. When you engage you should be trying to lead people somewhere they don’t want to go. The center area on BL maps is where I pull most fights, otherwise I pull to the outside edges of the map. These places get much less traffic and offer good LoS.

Also learn where the different npcs spawn, kiting a group through a place like the ice wurms near NE camp can really help shed extra players.

AND ESO gives you free sieges to put down that MAKES you pve in rvrvr because thoughts who do not pve in rvrvr are weaker then though who do. ESO going to go down the same rode with its RvRvR in time as GW2 the thing about ESO they will just throw more pve at the players and make it less about pvp.

Do tell are there supplies in eso? Do you get means of buying sieges from pve? Is there pve in eos RvRvR? What did i lie about?

I don’t know what version of ESO you played, but I’ll explain siege to everyone. There is a currency called allaince points that are basically like badges of honor. You get points by completing quests in the pvp zone or killing players. Killing players rewards huge amounts more points than any PvE/quest in the zone. You are correct that siege takes no supply, just the blueprint.

However, there is no anti-personel siege. Trebs, catapults and rams are for breaking into keeps, burning oil is to defend against rams, and ballastae are for taking out other siege equipment. All of them can hit and do dmg to players, but it would all be a game of luck because by the time the bolt/rock fires the person will have likely moved. No piece of siege will offer much benefit in open field fights.

Most importantly, all siege can be killing by a single person. Run/stealth up to the siege, press F and channel for around 3 seconds, and it bursts into flames and is destroyed seconds later.

Basically siege is good for breaking into/defending keeps, and nothing else.

Hello, I’m Sarsbear from such guilds as PAXA, SPCA, and tM, and I’m leaving this game for ESO. ESO offers balanced stealth (everyone has it and any dmg removes it), real healing (I no longer have to try to line up the end of my dodge roll to where someone is going to be in a very small radius), class balance (because “class” is more flavor than definition, and your action bar is fully customizable), no AoE limit + far fewer AoE abilities, crucial small-man pvp (flipping a camp will disable porting to that keep), no combat speed reduction (so zergs can’t catch up), and a better grouping system. Also an enormous map that you can easily get lost in. And PvE quests in the PvP zone that will funnel smaller groups of players together.

Yes, the animations/look aren’t as fluid as GW2. The targeting system is crap compared to GW2 as well (currently, haven’t browsed many add-ons that could fix this). Luckily what I care about is quality PvP, where fighting people depends on what I do, not how many others I bring.

I’m fine with the long run back to the fights, and I don’t mind the zergs.

But un-manned turrets that do a knockback and big damage is awful. So are timered spike traps that throw up 10 stacks of bleed.

Other terrible things are bridges and walkways with handrails that don’t stop you from falling off, NPCs that are more of a challenge than 50% of the playerbase (I joined to pvp), and the fact that parts of the map are inaccessible because a gate is in the way.

Then add that the entire map is made of the same terrain problems that have plagued this game since pre-launch, so teammates die running down hills, staircases, and bridges, and abilities constantly get obstructed on blades of grass.

The typical 0 0 10 30 30 build or 0 10 0 30 30 build full clerics. If I’m correct, he posted his build in his old video that I subscribed to long ago or check out Bobwhall’s channel that I also subscribed to. It has all the info on his support guardian build/traits/gear/trinkets/weapons/etc.

Joe is correct for spec and gear. Yes it is the same old thing, but if I change anything I end up missing the old trait too much and spec back (I really miss 10 radiance for VOJ blind and fury when burned). For now I switch between rune sets, melandru/speed/soldier.

Conditions in WvW are OP and out of control

Conditions are OP <10 and the reason is everyone and their mother puts out lots of junk conditions.

When the full zerker class puts out just as many conditions as the full condi class it creates a problem of “how do I remove the condi engineers poison/chill/burn instead of the glass warriors cripple/vuln/bleed?” Right now you can’t, right now condition removal has priorities, so some are always the very last to be removed (poison/immob).

If they just made condition removals random it would alleviate lots of problems for small scale fights.

Remove gates. Now a zerg can’t cover the entire map. Now a 5 man team can take a keep without 4 supply runs. Now the 13 objectives on each BL map can become 13 different fights, all of various sizes, compositions, and skill level. If you want your tower/keep, you better have good scouts and a team very nearby.

You forgot tM then again only 3 people in our guild, I’ll deliver the burst or get mugi to deliver the burst properly next time so you dont forget!

When theres a mass of people ganking you, one seems to overlook the small guilds (seeming as SPCA/XOXO seem to run together or 5v1-2 most of the time). Not worth our time fighting you guys anyways, your builds and classes are more suited to small team combat, theres a reason why theres so few roaming necros ( props to jk and the xoxo necro)

XOXO is always just around. I saw you two and actually typed “I’m excited!” That’s when you 1 shot my thief, I rezed him, and XOXO added. Then I was sad.

20+ second immobilize (movie)

My favorite is ranger using entangle + muddy terrain, plus regular ranger attacks it insures I cleanse everything except immob.

Second favorite is warrior bola, pin down, sword flurry.

Worth pointing out that you just need 1 of these people in a group, but why not add a few more so by the time the person can leave the root your cooldown is up again.

I feel like the problem is that every class puts out lots of junk conditions they can’t not apply. A zerker warrior doesn’t care about bleed, but his sword piles it on. I’m trying everything to clear immob but I keep clearing cripple (so I move slower while not able to move) and vulnerability.

My fix is remove the set order of everyones abilities and make it random. Things like thief steal always taking stability first, why? I’d rather be screwed by RNG than know that I will never remove the condition I want because its too far down the list.

The NA Silver League Thread

The only reason NSP is in silver is because we have more players (than HoD/Kain) that place their pride over their enjoyment of the game. Ignorance is bliss I guess.

Our only serious WvW guild (Os), knew that bronze was where we belonged, even though they wanted to be in silver for the competition. Some ignorant people flamed Os for this decision (which was a completely selfless one), so Os took us to silver to prove themselves to said people.

I’d say it’s some consolation to know that the NPS’ers that wanted us in silver are going to be getting their faces beaten in, but it’s really not. I won’t be able to enjoy my favourite aspect of the game for 7 weeks unless I leave my home server, which I have gotten very attached to.

This entire “WvW season” thing was a horrible idea, and is only rivaled in horribleness by the fact that Anet gave people so much time to destroy their own servers via transfers, stacking, throwing, and the results of differing opinions on those topics. I for one know that NSP was split between people who wanted bronze vs silver, and we risked losing multiple guilds and guild leaders over the whole thing.

As someone said earlier, those who see this as a challenge for NSP to overcome are delusional. The word “challenge” implies a chance of success. What’s even more ridiculous is how many NSP’ers think we fought hard and earned a rightful place in silver league. They don’t seem to understand that we are here because of illegitimate action taken by other servers who purposely lowered their WvW score to take what should have been our position in bronze.

What’s really funny is that Devon thinks he’s going to finish the Season 1 meta on NSP. The only way we are getting Stonemist Castle is if the other servers pity us and give it to us freely.

I hope all of the people on NSP that wanted to be in bronze transfer to a bronze server and leave the PvP to the rest of us. I don’t care about leagues, winning, PPT, or fair fights. My success is based on how many nerds I spike, and having fought all of these other servers before, they don’t field enough people to stop me.

If the rumors are true I’ve lost a whole heap of respect for those responsible. I’m out there to fight, who the hell cares about some crappy rewards for winning a league? It always seemed to me like NSP was in it for the battles not the meaningless numbers, which is part of the reason I’ve stuck with and enjoyed this server through thick and thin.

I really hope this isn’t the way things are going to turn out.

I never had respect for them. Or anyone. This is a video game and you’re all nerds.

No one is tanking for the extra blue (which is almost certainly all it will be) and easy fights. People are tanking because they want fights period. Karma training and being karma trained is what we’ll see in Silver league — it’ll mostly be PvD and that’s really boring for people who play for towers and camps (ironically the way Anet intends for us to play).

Those who take the week off, I sympathize with. But those harassing people who don’t wish to take the week off — that’s disgraceful.

Anyway, if you tag up Obs, I’m with you.

Were you around for the 24h matches? they were not well liked and had the same blowout problems.

Were you? 24h matches started with everyone at the same rating, of course there were blowouts when rank 1 could be matched with rank 24. Also server transfers were still free, so there was huge instability. Plus the game was brand new then, the vast majority didn’t know how to play, and were too poor to buy things like flame rams.

Anyway I agree with OP, I thought 24h matches were great and they’d help ease a lot of the current issues in WvW.

Purimm and I came from Ultima Online, where if you die your corpse is fully lootable, as in armor/weps/consumables. In games like these where death has no penalty and I see groups that size balling up and building siege to take a tower no one is defending my eyes blur and I go auto-run.

We were only on EB to find something to fight, and when we find a group that doubles our numbers (the fight below Mendon) half of them take off leaving their buddies to die. This game breeds people who eschew pvp.

Hell, 10x per SECOND would be a huge improvement. I think I would be ok even with 20 ticks per second, because at least then it wouldn’t eat through my entire health pool instantly.

A ‘tanky’ ele (tanky is laughable in its own right with all nerfs since release :p ) will max out at about 24k health with stacks… roughly. Remember, lowest health pool and armor combination in the entire game…..

One meteor shower against a coordinated enemy blob that is keeping retal may result in the entire health pool of that ‘tanky’ ele going from 24k health to 0 in a second or 2. The only recourse being to keep from getting downed by using a single AoE ability designed for that EXACT purpose is to mist form, because you cant stop the meteors…

Yeah sure, run 20 necros to strip the retal that is being put back up right away anyways by a coordinated blob…. blah blah blah, whatever. Garbage responses, all of them. Every bit of coordination a good team uses is also going to be used by good opponents they fight.

No need to nerf retal damage…. no need to take away abilities that give it. Simply cap the amount of ticks you can take to it per second to something reasonable and balanced.

Is that number 1 per second? No. WAY too low.

Is that number unlimited per second? WAY to freaking high.

How about 10 ticks per second? 15? Is that reasonable?

I think this is how many feel… it’s not that people want it to be nerfed into the ground, just given SOME kitten thing to put a cap on it even if that cap is pretty high.

I strongly dislike caps. I also don’t think retal needs a nerf, it needs a buff. Currently, as many in this thread have said, they don’t even worry about it. That needs to change, it should be a buff that punishes everyone for hitting that target, not just some classes using some skills.

By shortening the durations and changing the scaling, then making it based on condition damage (just like confusion), you could fix multiple problems. First would be the complete lack of a condition damage spec for guardian. To throw out made up numbers (as in not balanced/thought out), what if at 0 con damage retal hit for 5 damage, and at 1500 con it hit for 1000 damage.

Here’s a summary of the answers so far:

From the hammer wielders and press 1 autoattacking guardians, they see no problem with retal as they run around in a ball and have their own regeneration and healing going on so don’t really notice it, while tagging everything in sight with a weapon that does aoe damage and causes heals to trigger on the rest of their ball.

From anyone trying to damage the press 1 spammers by actually using skills as intended, retal is the most broken mechanic in the game.

“Number 1 spammers” are forced to always be in frontline, eating all melee, ranged and AOE damage, while skilled “killers of spammers” want to stay behind in safety, roll their faces on 1-2-3-4-5 and don’t care about stupid things like non-zerk gear, boon stripping
and backlash from retal? Oh, i see now.

Pretty much this…Retal might be OP in few scenarios for a few short bursts. (I enjoy popping group retal on an engie trying to flamethrow my group through a gate for instance).

For the most part retaliation (like I said before) punishes players who refuse to monitor their play. If you just wanna faceroll your keys and spam every skill trying to tag every mob while wearing DPS gear, expect to die from your playstyle. I can honestly say I have never been killed from retaliation or confusion for that matter. Mostly because as soon as I see said skills I back off my attacks until it is safe, or most of my builds are tanky enough to attack through the retaliation. (Confusion just depends on # of stacks)

The thing is I can keep retal up almost permanantly for my group. If I add another guild guardian the 2 of us definitely will. That does not include the group mates also knowing to leap/blast in light fields. You will have to back off indefinitely, and there are many groups out there that use the same mechanics.

You say you’ve never died to retal, and I’d like to change that. I think you should be able to spec a way so that retal truly punishes all people, not just flamethrower engineers or anyone with heavy AoE or fast attacks, just like eng/mes can spec for confusion and turn it into something very dangerous. But being based on power, the current retal is a little too powerful for people who aren’t specifically trying to make it better.

As a small group guardian since headstart I find retaliation broken. I exploit this as much as possible for my groups, its certainly perma on myself, and near perma for my group. However, I gave up using a staff because the huge cone hit from 1 meant constantly taking large chunks of my life while doing small dmg. Now I use greatsword and often take 50% of my health on a 2 whirl. Do I “die from retal?” I don’t think I’ve been put into down state from retal specifically, but there are certainly times I’ve died because hitting the group would reflect too much dmg, while not hitting the group meant a slower death.

My suggestions is to drop the duration by around half, possibly lower the base damage, and make it scale based on condition damage, just like its counterpart confusion. This would also help to address the lack of a condition spec for guardians.

I have no idea where you’re getting these numbers from. Stand your ground, 25% longer trait, 30 points into virtues for another 30% boon dur, symbol on greatsword 4, blasting with 4s cd hammer 2 twice (with access to 2 other light fields). That’s nearly 25 seconds. Stand your ground has a 24 second cooldown traited. So yeah, near perma.

If you round 2.5 seconds up to 3, you get the duration of many sources of confusion, the counterpart to retaliation. I think that’s a fine duration, especially considering retal stacks dur.

I know full well the state of guardian conditions, which is the whole argument for making retal based on condition damage over power. The scaling would obviously have to change, but done appropriately it would do more damage than it does now for guardians with condition damage, and do not very much for all of the people without. Then your flamethrower or grenade engineers, or staff guardians, or barrage rangers, can punish clustered players and take much less damage they are taking now.

And I never knew there was a retaliation build. I read the abilities and make my own builds.

Now the devs are putting in an open field objective, a place designed specifically for groups to fight other groups, and its going to kill the “scene.” As a small group roamer I say good riddance. All I ever cared about was good fights, but you guys spent the last year making sure points was all that mattered.

I don’t think anyone is arguing against the new map objective. The issue is the stat buff. Snowballing mechanics are bad. They were bad last year and they are bad again. It’s lazy design to go with a simple stat buff rather than creating a strategic reason to fight for these new points such as many which have been suggested in this and other threads.

“Getting rolled is getting rolled” you say, I say it’s not so black and white. Adding this buff just makes it that much harder to come back from behind.

In some matches my server starts every “morning” with basically no points and steadily comes back throughout the “day”. We mostly have a strong NA presence, but our opponents often do as well, so it’s not like we just trade off PvD with the other server’s oceanic/asian populations, we have to fight for every inch. In those fights they will all now have an extra stat bonus and more points from killing our frontliners who do the dirty work of retaking our lands every day.

I’m hoping the new points will add some interesting small/medium scale open area fights, it looks like they will. I stand by my opinion that the stat buff is crap design and and other number of incentives would do much better (faster upgrades, less costly repairs, increased defense from siege, swapping buffs with “outmanned”, etc.).

I would argue that your complaint isn’t the stat buff, it’s the mechanics that allow snowballing in the first place. You wake up with 0 points, why? Because another server outnumbered you enough to walk all over your towers. They got the buff because of that, so let’s solve that problem. I also like your incentives if they were for outmanned, but a stat buff for holding 3 of 5 open field objectives sounds very reasonable, considering I will spend most of my time preventing the other teams from doing so.

I miss 24 hour rotations.

You all could have made GvG the meta, taking your group of 1-10 and fighting other groups of 1-10 at camps and sentries. You could have taken your 20 and fought other groups of 20 outside of towers and keeps. But “death” hurt too much and you all decided to run inside or set up siege. There could be a constant fight at all 13 objectives on a BL map, for groups of every size and composition, but instead you all made giant blobs to avoid any competition.

Now the devs are putting in an open field objective, a place designed specifically for groups to fight other groups, and its going to kill the “scene.” As a small group roamer I say good riddance. All I ever cared about was good fights, but you guys spent the last year making sure points was all that mattered.

As for the stat buff, only the most lopsided matchups/coverage will have 1 team with all 3, getting rolled is getting rolled. Otherwise it sounds like a good place to pick a fight and be rewarded for winning, either me getting the buff or depriving the enemy of it.

Retool WvW Retaliation for better WvW meta?

As a small group guardian since headstart I find retaliation broken. I exploit this as much as possible for my groups, its certainly perma on myself, and near perma for my group. However, I gave up using a staff because the huge cone hit from 1 meant constantly taking large chunks of my life while doing small dmg. Now I use greatsword and often take 50% of my health on a 2 whirl. Do I “die from retal?” I don’t think I’ve been put into down state from retal specifically, but there are certainly times I’ve died because hitting the group would reflect too much dmg, while not hitting the group meant a slower death.

My suggestions is to drop the duration by around half, possibly lower the base damage, and make it scale based on condition damage, just like its counterpart confusion. This would also help to address the lack of a condition spec for guardians.

I realize its trolling, but I agree with this. Downed abilities should not be affected by stability, invuln, or stealth. Then they should do something to normalize the 2 in downed states for all classes, make rally 1 for 1, make it so only 1 person can revive at a time, remove revive from stomp while in combat, and remove rallying from npcs in WvW. Also hitpoints after being revived should be more like 20%, not half.

Here’s my problem with theives:
I go out to roam solo on my guardian. Theif opens on me, get him to 20% without losing any hitpoints and he escapes. I continue on because clearly I “won” the fight. But hes back. Repeat from south camp to north camp.

And all of this wouldn’t be so bad except that when you solo roam 50% of the people you come across are thieves, 25% are mesmers, and the rest are a mix of everything else. Seems like stealth is just too good to pass up if you don’t want a full party.

Honest suggestion: Play a different game until ANet adds Guild v. Guild. No need to be cynical about the whole thing. GvG will come with or shortly after guild halls, and it’ll be tied to influence/merit progression, gems (tickets), or both. I’d bet on it. Best to be patient and at peace with reality.

I play this game like its left 4 dead 2 survival mode now. Grab a couple buddies and go fight the zombie horde, see how long you can last.

You’ve confused PvP with defending/attacking. Sitting in a keep on a cannon is not PvP.

You’ve confused the strategies of defending and attacking inside the WvW PvP zone with the tactic of utilizing specific available weapons during same.

Attacking another player gives you no points at the end of the week, taking and holding objectives does. The most efficient way to take objectives is when there is no resistance at the objective you want to take. The game rewards you for avoiding PvP. That’s why the zerg exists, to be unstoppable in the face of any opposition. That’s why match-ups are decided by population.

As long as maps stay the way they are you’ll never get reliable 5v5 stuff. There’s nowhere to fight that isn’t 10 feet away from a keep or tower, so even when you do encounter another small and the fight lasts more than 1 minute, one side is going to get adds.

When I was on running with SPLT I don’t think we had any fair fights, just us eeking out a sloppy win with double your numbers. It’s been ages since I’ve seen an enemy small man so organized though. I miss you guys.

It really depends on exactly how many you’re going to run with.
3 or less: eng/mes/theif, they all have extreme survival and lots of tricks to throw out, and most importantly lots of escape/mobility.
With 4+: 2 guardians, necro (corrupt boon), staff ele/ranger (waterfields, root/stun field).

As 3 or less each person will need to be able to escape and handle themeselves as if solo. With 4+ you can start relying on your team more, and fighting much larger numbers so buffs like stability or waterfields become far more important.

On traiting you open up a lot more specs that are non-traditional. As an example, me (guardian) paired with a necro will take the trait “blind causes vulnerability” because leaping/blasting a necro dark field applies blind. Paired with a greatsword (blind on 3) and a hammer (blast on 2) while activating virtue of justice it becomes very easy for just myself to stack 15+ vuln to all targets in the area.

I’d say the most important thing about any group comp is fully utilizing finishers. Whirl in a light field just cleansed my group of blind causing the warriors downed state interupt not to miss giving me the time to rez him. Clutch.

Hey friends, here is some footage of Purimm and I, this time from my (guardian) point of view. The skill level of the smaller groups in this tier has been higher so nothing too jaw dropping.

You should of uploaded the stuff after this where that one thief trolls you guys, I would of liked to have seen what saw and known what you were thinking.

I don’t remember how long it was just him, eventually it becomes him and 2 good RH mesmers, but I didn’t record any of that fight. What you would have seen is lots of misses from blind, lots of theif porting/stealthing at low hp, and me thinking “I’m bored”.

Plus we get trolled all the time, most classes have some spec that’s very mobile, and in any of our footage you’ll see people getting away from us. We just don’t have the mobility to catch that kind of stuff.

This is the fight I was talking about the other day haha. I was thinking the exact same thing. The two mesmers were myself and Dirty Dirty and I even said to him (at least 3 times) over voice chat “Dude, this isn’t going anywhere I’m disengaging.”

Needless to say he was intent on killing one of you and didn’t leave, so I stayed to help him out. When 4 survivable builds and a perma-stealth thief meet it’s never going to be a super exciting fight lol

Still love your vids though, I learned a lot watching the one in our north camp (I can’t record so I’m forced to rely on other people’s video until I upgrade my PC).

I just changed my build recently to be a lot more bursty and not so tanky, so our next encounter should be much more interesting. That’s of course assuming we’re matched up again this week.

I think Purimm was trying to get one of you guys guard whacked, we don’t use voice but he seemed pretty content to hang near invuln. Didn’t you guys get a couple stomps on him? I was just waiting to die, but my bar still had cooldowns.

Recording is a double edged sword, you get to see how you can improve, but you also get to see all the stuff your partner does to ruin your gameplay. If I get 1 more person kicked out of my ring….

Alls I know is 2 dudes from SPCA embarresed the hell out of me and some other gents in some bl at least once this week. A char mesmer and a guardian. Hats of to you two, i was the engi who kept getting killed on account of trying a new TERRIBLE build (wellllllll and you guys completely out played us).

I did group with Wafflez once this week, and we did fight PD but I don’t remember getting kills. I do remember 3 phantasm mesmers though.

I do agree with a larger AoE cap. although I don’t think you understand that they are gonna carry the same firepower of mass AoE that you do when they have uncapped AoE. They are still gonna send five people after every one of you, and still have people to spare. I just think it will help small groups slow down a zerg, but it for sure isn’t going to stop them.

We have been dealing with 5 people to our 1 for months now. thats not new, what would be new, is my 5 being able to hit your 25……deal with that and then lets talk. Because we are already dealing many times with the 5 to 1 ratio of incoming damage. We are saying even up the playing field with DMG OUTPUT and you are scared and dont like the idea.

I do not understand what you are saying here. I would like to respond though.

He’s saying that changing the AoE cap has no effect on the zerg. A group of 25 has already been enjoying hitting all 5 players in a group for months, while the group of 5 has been only allowed to do dmg to 20% of them because of game mechanics.

If the cap was changed to 10 the zerg would still hit all 5 of the group, but the group of 5 can now hit 40%. In reality with all the pets and minions and clones, this probably means the group of 5 can now do dmg to actual players.

You’ll see far fewer players running right through your cripple/stun/whatever field immune to its effects just because he’s surrounded by friendlies. Your small group of 5 can use more baiting/terrain/whatever tactics because their abilities will now work against the larger force. Should 5 beat 60? No, never really, but they shouldn’t have their abilities made useless just because there are more than 5 enemies.

No one should feel embarrassed, these are more like highlight reels. I said before we fail more often than we win (nature of the game currently, 3 should always beat 2). In fact some of those in the clips probably remember beating us a dozen times before we managed to pull off a win.

Yeah, that was us Sarsbear. We were laughing like hell in TS while the fight was going on, wondering if we were ever going to kill you. Eventually, we were getting too close to the entrance, and decided that after that what, like 40 minutes of us fighting, no one was going to win, and we were going to pull back.

You guys got 2 rallies off of coyotes. It was super frustrating as I’m sure you can imagine. 2v2 tanks to have a rally adds another 10 minutes of cooldowns.

I posted this literally before falling asleep lol, but I meant to ask. Does your warrior (sorry, not sure of his name) have some form of perma stability? It seems like he ignores literally every immobilize/daze I put on him. Only source I know of would be your shouts, but I obviously don’t know warriors that well.

Always fun fighting against good opponents I haven’t seen before.

Edit: To ammend my previous statement from last night, I’m pretty sure you guys got us down once too. When I reread it, it sounded like I was bragging. Didn’t mean it to come across like that

Sorry if I came off rude as well, I can only keep my attention going for like 15 minutes so to have a fight that continues for an hour (my fault of course, I could have just disengaged but I’m a troll) is super draining. Add to that all the stealth mesmer/mesmer/theif puts out, and I’m awful at fighting mesmers.

Purimm the warrior has my 2 sources of stability (stand your ground/virtue of courage), his balanced stance, and the warrior elite banner (super op like 2 minutes of stab), though I’m not sure you guys ever saw it come out, he mostly saves it to rez me.

You guys were the tail end of an approximately hour long fight. It started at south camp vs a much larger group, widdled it down to 3 tanky guys, eventually they left and you 3 came up. I think we’d prefer to fight 5 mediocre players than 2 good ones.

That’s me! I’m that annoying mesmer who jumped in the ring at the beginning. Sadly it was a pug so we couldn’t call targets, but it was a fun fight nonetheless.

I still can’t figure out how I didn’t get the stomp off at around 3:20. I remember being in game and thinking “WTF was that?” and I still can’t figure out watching the video. Only think I can think of is maybe someone else died nearby that gave him a rally? Man that was annoying haha

And sadly my interrupt was on cooldown at 8:35. Sigh, so close…well done!

You didn’t get the stomp off because Purimm drops his elite warbanner. When it works its magical, unfortunately he usually misses it by .1 seconds.
