Australian player, recently returned to the game looking for an oceanic guild to call home. Interested in dungeons, fractals, Spvp and WvW at nearly all times of the day and night. Raiding is a must. So no small guilds please.

Increasing the CD on symbol of wrath hurt my survivability too.
Used to be able to throw it down in melee every 10 seconds in dungeons and watch the Altruistic Healing keep me up.
Doubling the CD halved its healing over the course of a fight

I agree. I was used to my greatsword layout. Now im constantly throwing down my symbol when i want to close the distance. Its really screwing me up in pvp. Gonna take a while to get used to…

The arah armor looks hideous. Light armor is the only semi-decent looking set in there and even that isnt very good.

Dungeons explorable modes already give tokens. Story mode should not give tokens as a reward. If you all thought about it for more than a second you’d realize that. Increasing the token gain per day will just hasten the end of dungeon runs altogether.
Increase the silver reward and throw in some karma for completing it. Say 1.5k karma. (Just a random number).
Sure people could decide to farm storymode for karma but they already do that at Cursed Shore. And they’d make more karma there for the amount of time spent.
1 rare item. 26 silver and 1.5k karma for completing a storymode dungeon. Regardless of whether you’ve completed it that day or if its the very 1st time you’ve done it.

“4) Two weapons are better than one. If you go into an encounter with 2 melee weapons, there is something wrong with you. You have two weapon sets for a reason. Take a ranged and a melee weapon. Swap them accordingly. React to the boss fights. If he’s wrecking you in melee, then go ranged and start firing away. These bosses don’t exactly have enrage timers. It’s not like DPS is the sole purpose of this game. It’s about group cohesion while breaking the trinity. Every member is responsible for himself and everyone else. It’s something that takes getting used to. Adapt or get annihilated in Explorable Modes.”
I resent that.
I’ve never encountered a boss that forced me to use a ranged weapon. Even Giganticus Lupicus, which is supposed to be the bane of melee.
If you follow your 5) then it makes your 4) obsolete

I would really like to see some changes in this department.
It takes around an hour to complete all 3 paths of AC. Thats 180 tokens and 78 silver.
It took me an hour and a half to do Path 1 of Arah last night. This is with an organized group of guild members using vent. 4/5 group members with full exotics.
The reward? 60 tokens and 26 silver.
The exact same rewards for doing 1 of the AC paths (different tokens ofc).
Either lower the rewards for completing the easier/less time consuming dungeons or raise the rewards for the harder dungeons/time consuming ones.
Take dungeon paths into account too

In the jumping puzzle today with the invis buff. Made it past all the rabid enemy’s wanting my blood. Get to a spot with 3 SBI on-top of a ledge shooting any enemy they see to get them in combat speed. They’re holding off a couple JQ players. MY ally is at the SBI players feet and i want to rez.
So i figure if i distract these guys then the JQ players can get across and we can wipe the SBI.
So i proceed to go Rambo mode and unleash my inner Guardian on these SBI. All of them are ~10% hp by the time the JQ players get here.
And… they leave me alone :O
I start rezzing my ally -get him to 50%.
Oh wait no… they must have just forgotten about me. They then proceed to stomp me into the ground.

Zhaitan should have been a massive dynamic event spanning all 3 Orr zones over the course of the fight.
This is the only way to make Zhaitan feel truly epic.
But its too late now. Even if Anet redesigns the Zhaitan fight – after the hash they’ve made of it, it’ll just feel cheap.
Here’s hoping they learn from their mistake and make the other Elder Dragons suitably epic.

Plain and simple this system is a safety net for stopping crazy farming when people find exploits that make each run super fast. We are also addressing those loopholes, but that takes time and new ones might always be discovered. If you and your group do the dungeons without skipping large sections and run different chains this system shoul(bugs aside) never impact you.
Addendum for clarity, super fast means < 30 minutes, and even then you must hit that speed multiple times in a row before you start seeing any impact.
This is what i’ve been hoping for. That it was just a bug that was making the DR so harsh or activating too fast.

Yeh i saw that. I was under the impression that they’d fixed it. But after reading the post through a few times im thinking i just misunderstood at 1st : /

So i queued for WvW, then told my friends they should queue with me. 2 min later they’re all in. 20 min later im still waiting despite queuing at least 3 min b4 them.
Is this supposed to be like this?

You already get penalized for doing it. If your dead and just watching the enemy team – maybe reporting their movements etc, your gonna get bored real quick. Great way to spend your time in wvw after waiting in that generally long queue.

Except they’re one and the same in this case.. Players are already angry about queue times – much more so than night capping. People are already leaving over it. And you want to make it worse? You may think that less players would make the game better, but Anet certainly wouldn’t think so.

Before you guys cry, “Go back home carebear,” hear me out for a moment. I don’t care about your PvP. I don’t care about your WvW. If I could leave it alone, I would.
Not long ago, I was stuck at 92% map completion for the world. The other 8% was stuff in WvW. I spent a lot of frustrating time in queues, dying to people who take themselves too seriously, and generally getting steamrolled by about 20 people. I’m not resentful for getting steamrolled, it’s part of PvP and WvW.
What I am resentful for is that the achievement of getting 100% world completion, which is primarily a PvE accomplishment (note: 92% PvE to be precise), requires me to be in a scenario which I do not enjoy, and frustrates the hell out of me to complete. 8% of the game ruins the other 92% for me. I know ArenaNet promised to make games less about griefing, and more about the fun. This is where I really came to question some of their design decisions.
Now I hear your cry “WvW is part of the map!” Well, not the normal world map. It’s an entirely separate map in the mists, and the achievement also ignores sPvP points of interest as well. It’s completely inconsistent.
Now, it’s interesting to point out that tomorrow they reduce the ability of people to transfer worlds. Because guess how I resolved all my problems with WvW? Quickly transferring between worlds to ignore the issues caused by the world completion requirements — some areas my server was just never going to capture in a hundred years. Rather than waste countless hours trying to capture a point, I made it a matter of minutes. Abusing a feature of the game was my only respite to get around the abuse the game was giving me.
Similar problems arise as well under the “Explorer” achievement tab. Exploration is my favorite past time in any game, including GW2. To get all of its achievements require me to enter WvW, which I’m not entirely against. Sure I have to repeat the same jumping achievement 3 times against a bunch of a homicidal idiots, but whatever. What manages to get my goat though, is the absurdity of the obsidian sanctum. All 3 teams have entrances to this jumping puzzle at any given time (unless one server is dominating). Standard WvW practices apply inside this jumping puzzle (no surprise, I can hold my own). Problem is, the “defenders” in the jumping puzzle get massive advantages — traps that can kill people, and firing positions that make it impossible to pass/fight back.
ArenaNet, I ask you, what is your logic for qualifying an achievement as “explorer” when it’s truly not an exploration achievement, but a WvW/PvP achievement? It’s frustrating to people such as myself who enjoy the exploration, but are OCD about completion. I don’t know how many times I’ve wanted to shoot somebody in the face because of the irritation of the whole charade. Please consider making some kind of change in the future on the issue (I have no simple answers, so I leave that to you).

You can pay 100g at a vendor to become a commander. This should let your drawings on the map last longer.
I dont see a problem with the orbs. I see them change hands all the time in my worlds matchs’ either due to poor defense or great strategic attacks. People all claim they’re overpowered, but in the long run.. they just dont make that much of a difference. Not like a well placed trebuche

Interesting read. The suggestions are all really good except removing the orbs.
Changing the way the map keeps track of players would be great. I’d love to open my map and see where everyone is, with orange dots signifying guild members.

HoD player here.
Played JQ borderlands all day today.
Would just like to say that if there is some kind of truce between HoD and SBI then
the SBI guys in JQ borderlands sure knew nothing about it.
We were wiped off the map for a good hour today until we retook DB keep from JQ.
At which point we had to defend against SBI and JQ attacking us relentlessly for 3 hours until they finally gave up on DB. It was nearly coordinated.
Wave 1 SBI
Wave 2 JQ
Wave 3 SBI
etc.
We were hanging on by our teeth in the lords room.
Please let the SBI guy in JQ borderlands know that they should stop killing us

You can’t argue from the perspective that people should always have their CC breaks available, because they won’t be. So it shouldn’t be an automatic victory if they do not have them.
Besides, you act like there’s much to understand about popping quickness and spamming HSS. The only class that it’s hard to understand what abilities are strong is Mesmer. The rest are really straight forward.
You cant argue from the perspective of it being a 1v1.
And for the record, unless you’ve played every class and understand it, then most of what other classes do will be hard to understand.

while not affecting me personally because i couldn’t care less about glory i have team mates that refuse to play defensively against non-serious enemies because they will end the game with 50points while everyone else sits at 200
the whole glory gain system is moronic in tournaments as the whole group should obviously be rewarded equally
Never thought of this, but there might be something to it.
IMO the losing team should receive 0 points. It’s ridiculous to reward a team that hasn’t won. The winning team however – maybe this guy is right. Everyone worked for that win and perhaps they should all be equally rewarded.

problem is that people will start to AFK battlegrounds stating that they “defend” while leeching exp.
Same problem persisted in wow.
How exactly do you plan on afk’ing in gw2 pvp? Maybe just sit on a node the whole game while u go fap? Yeh cos no enemy is going to come kill you and take the node.
Be realistic with your arguments please.

The game is too new and you people are not good enough to judge what is balanced or not. The fact that you are disparaging the ele is proof of this. In the right hands the ele is extremely powerful and very hard to kill.
Rotating through the attunements is what makes the ele so powerful. Without that 1.5 second CD we’d have people whining about ele’s too.
As it is im just waiting for you all to discover how powerful the guardian is and to whine about them.

Shield 5 skill: “Shield of Absorption- Generates a dome around you that pushes foes back and absorbs projectiles”
Through testing I’ve noticed that the Shield of Absorption triggered by Resolute Healer does not push foes back. Although it does absorb projectiles.
But the Shield of Absorption that can be used with a shield equipped does push foes back.

Those people complaining about ele’s being too hard and thieves being too easy and then swapping to a thief need to learn how to play an ele.
Then spend more time playing sPvP on a thief.
Here’s a tip. There’s a boon called “retaliation” in this wonderful game we play. Learn it. Love it.
My very first 80 was a thief. I enjoyed being able to pistol whip someone into the ground within 2 seconds.
And then i tried the Guardian.
I now enjoy being able to take on 2 thieves at once and down both.
Here’s the lesson boys and girls. If your complaining about classes being too overpowered then your not good enough to make that kind of judgement yet.
Learn to play.

I just used Flashing Blade (guardian 1hand sword skill) on an enemy unit standing next to a Bolt Thrower. I ended up stuck inside the Bolt Thrower and had to WP out.
Another time i used steal on an enemy player in sPvP while they were standing next to one of the small ruined houses(?) in the pvp map with the trebuches. I ended up stuck inside unable to get out until another enemy came along that i could shadowstep to.
