I was using Save Yourself, Hold the Line and decided to swap Stand Your Ground for Retreat! What’s your take on getting retreat to the build? I found myself lagging behind my 2 mates every time i tried to switch it away. So I left it in and stomped using the focus 5.

I know (from experience trying to follow him) that Chris tends to swap in Retreat! a lot when he’s traveling around, though I don’t believe it’s his preferred shout in combat. Myself, I just tend to swap in staff for my GS a lot while moving around, though that has gotten me caught in battle a few times with staff + sword/focus which isn’t very good in small group combat (though I did maul the hell out of some poor thief with it the other day).

I’ll say this…Chris is the only guardian track star I know. He’ll make you reconsider the idea of guardians being the second slowest class after mesmers…

Pixels: You forgot the most important reason to be running cleric’s over soldier’s.

THAT is what makes cleric’s gear and sigils of energy a must in this build.

I’ve had it happen on my guardian when using Symbol of Wrath (GS4). My character just keeps going through the “plunging the sword into the ground” motion over and over again like he’s doing something obscene, and NOTHING breaks him out of it, unlike the version of the bug where using a skill that moves you frees you. I’ve died a couple times to this, though I have no idea what causes it. My suspicion is being hit with a dozen disables or something simultaneously

Because its not like they would’ve had to blow their immobilizes already to down an ele in the first place. I mean, it’s not like eles are ridiculously mobile or anything…

If you want one that increases Healing Power there’s Mango-Saffron Ice Cream.

Pretty sure boons prioritize targets in your party before affecting other nearby targets.

Adrenal Health isn’t affected by healing power, but it IS affected by the bonus to healing from WvW score. Someone noticed this last night.

As a side note, I run the signet. I don’t get the blocks, but the healing is so much better.

In PvE that may be the case, but I would argue that in WvW at least shelter is MUCH better.

It’s also quite ridiculous when you have several guardians with it working in concert

Reset my traits tonight and bought all exotic cleric’s gear. Tried it out in WvW. I probably have a lot to learn and practice with this because I’m getting dropped like a rock. Head into battle 1v2 or 1v1 and my health will stay up for the first 10 seconds and then I’m dropped over the next 10 seconds.

It takes getting used to, but trust me it works. And for those that say guardian has no escapability, I did lead about 5 enemies on a merry chase from Titanpaw to between Arah’s and Dreaming Bay before they finally got me (because I screwed up).

Not wanting to insult anyone but those things are fugly I mean, they are pretty bad.

I used the Tier 1 Ebon Vanguard skins from Ebonhawke. 9.8k karma each.

A reasonable alternative to Monk runes are Dwayna. I used those for a bit, but 20% regen duration is nothing compared to 15% everything.

Yeah I finally brought myself to run AC explorable last night to get the Monk runes. Hopefully I can finish up today.

Setis uses Pow/Tough/Vit armor and Cleric’s weapons and jewelry, I believe. It seems to work pretty well for him.

Yeah, ‘cause I’m a cheapskate You get a hair more power and a little more of a health buffer, but lose some healing power (though I still have 1000+ without any Life stacks). Toughness is the same either way. If you’ve got the karma though it’ll save you the pain of making the cleric’s armor.

I’ve never had ability lock, but I HAVE encountered numerous instances where my character is stuck in place unable to move, and he’s not immobilized. Using an ability that moves my character in some way (like a leap) frees me, but I don’t always have one off cooldown or even available depending on what I’m running at the time.

Not sure how much it would to redo armor and accessories but I’m guessing close to 20 gold for exotics. Weapons I could probably cheat and get by using PvP badge stuff. Darn it all, I like the idea but not ready for it I guess.

I actually cheat Christos’ build by using temple karma pow/tou/vit armor and WvW badge helm, with cleric’s weapons and gems. I think it’s a solid alternative if you don’t have the money/mats to make everything and have plenty of karma (or lots of jugs, which I splurged when my guardian hit 80).

Well there’s a big patch today, cross your fingers that it’s among the bug fixes.

Such a great week so far On a bit of a side note… Has anyone else noticed an increased loot table in WvW? Last night we had a lot of members getting rares and a couple even got named exotics from killing players and keep lords / supervisors.

I got 2 named exotic armor pieces in the past week. In 650 hours on that character, I had never gotten an exotic drop before, anywhere. I also got 3 rares within 30 minutes yesterday so I’d say they ninja fixed drops a bit more. These drops were off of players and random guards.

Agreed, I think I got like 3 rares and an exotic today, which is more than I’ve gotten total in WvW since launch.

Amen, it’s also flaky when throwing at anything that is strafing to the side of you. So many times I’m trying to bola a target and don’t even see the bolas thrown because the target is somewhere between a 45 and 90 degree angle to me.

They’re probably using Blinding Powder to stealth which stealths them and blinds you. Blind makes your knock back miss…

My human male warrior with Pirate runes also shouts “For Great Justice!” instead of “Yarrr!” when it procs. Which is really awkward when I also actually use “For Great Justice!” either right before or after….

I’ve definitely heard Liam O’Brien voicing some sylvari characters, but he doesn’t do the PC voice.

too bad I can’t find the video a warrior bladetrail doing 42k damage to a necro with pets and so you know is has cool down sames as a thief, but you cool down is 1 skill, for the thief is all the skills when you use all initiatives.

During the week Ferg is typically only active during Prime Time, with a few people after noonish or so. We don’t have much of an off-hours presence which is why Kaineng was taking everything with SoS last week on us.

And yeah we noticed that orb is bugged apparently. We don’t know where it is either!

The Primetime fights are fun, and balanced I think. Unfortunately with their new infusions of Oceanic/Asian guilds, Kaineng owns the rest of the time.

Kaineng got a LARGE infusion of Asian guilds. FC and DR I don’t think have any night coverage at all, so Kaineng’s night crew just takes everything at their leisure.

Seriously, Kaineg is an exploding hornet’s nest right now. Though last night you guys came to our homeland, kicked our teeth down our throat, took our orb, and…vanished. We had no resistance taking it back. Did the whole server go to bed on cue or something?

Also, the fact that you are getting that notice means they’ve compromised your password (they had to know your account name and password in order to log in and generate that email). Change your password IMMEDIATELY to something you don’t use elsewhere.

I was the commander of the Darkhaven force that took that orb. Your defenders downed or killed our original orb carrier. When someone else picked up the orb up it disappeared from our map as well as yours. I had to stand at the orb carrier and repeatedly tell my own people that we still had the orb, and to stack on me for the escort run to DB.

A bug certainly, but not one we knew about or intentionally exploited.

It’s the most popular (for warriors) because the other two have such limited application or outright suck.

Actually you can use your burst and #3 without a target selected….but good luck hitting with it if so.

Get the WvW badge helm if you want a pow/tou/vit helm.

The trait (Tactics IV) does indeed bring longbow up to 1200 range.
