Oh that’s rich. Glad to see TC complaining about a non-existent doubleteam. Oh that brings me happiness.
Wow, one guy speaking for a whole server as it seems. New to me.
Says the guy who hides what server he is on ……

Zergs are melee based constructs, therefore if you were to go for optimal you would want to consider bombs which functions at close range. When you get run over by a mass of red names it’s tough to effectively toss grenades.

To be fair, most of the Engie players I know (not myself of course) are somewhat crazy.

[NERF] does guild dungeon runs just fine ……. and it’s an all engineer guild. If anyone needs a specific class to complete a dungeon they are probably pretty bad at pressing buttons, so you are really better off by them not wanting you to go suffer with them.

To wipe your tears. Because there’s no reason to cry over the proposed changes in SotG.
They’re just proposed changes. Not patch notes. Things may change, but since its ANet tradition to nerf the Engineer every balance patch, let’s assume the worst.
Think about the implications of these changes. There’s no build that’s going to be removed by these changes. There’s no change in play styles or builds unless they’re for the better (think about having Overcharge for every Healing Turret detonate). Any nerfs to the mentioned Sigils can be overcome by slotting other Sigils. So Signets are getting buffed and we don’t have any – at least its not a nerf! The only possible change they’ve talked about that might screw things over is a further nerf to grenades, but I doubt they’ll go that far.
Don’t shed your tears here on the forums. There is no point. The devs have a clear vision of how they want to balance their game. They don’t care about what you want or any fancy ideas you have for ‘balancing’ the class, because you don’t consider:
- other classes
- implications in PvE and WvW
- their vision for roles the Engineer is supposed to play
- their vision for how long fights should last, what sort of interactions they are looking for from the players in sPvP and tPvPIf you really can’t stand the way Engineers are being treated this patch but still love the game, then you’re better off rolling Mesmers. They’re the only class the devs have acknowledge to be balanced after all. Stick with Engineer only if you love the class.
If you still can’t accept things, then vote with your silence. Stop posting, stop playing, write an email to your choice of dev/ANet staff about why you’re boycotting their game and go do something else. There are plenty of other interesting things to do in life than getting emotional about a game.
Edit: I’m sorry if it sounds harsh, but that’s how it is.
Thanks for the tough love Dr Phil.

This is what TG is trying to do, we know we cant (and dont want to) compete with your 100 man mega zergs, so we do our best to kite, maneuver and parry our way to victory
We definitely don’t have 100 people. It’s just a l2play issue.

It’s [NERF] or nothing!
With TC’s new transfers, there is no point in competing in a population game (and many guilds on FA were not interested in the first place). Instead, we’ll have fun doing things that don’t require population – setting up loot farms and GvG.
If you really feel this way, maybe you should leave WvW and play sPvP?
Also…
Congrats! You sir are more skilled than we.

This entire thread is getting trolled so hard, and everyone is licking it up. It’s amazing.
I agree. This is getting worse than T1 threads. And I was thinking T2 is the best tier at the moment. All of you spewing kitten all over should be ashamed of yourselves. Absolutely pathetic.
Previous weeks were great, then something happened this week. I haven’t seen the census numbers, but something isn’t right.

If you roll an Engineer and decide to go Asura it’s like entering the cheat code in Contra! (you know U D U D L R L R B A S). Due to superior intellect and overwhelming cuteness, Asura Engineers are actually going to be banned from the game completely in the next patch.

Ugh please no steampunk! I’ve seen these people walking around in normal settings in wool trenchcoats with goggles hanging off them!
It’s [NERF] or nothing!
I’m totally grumpy! My little Engie typically takes the worst builds possible because that’s what he wants to do! He hates thieves because they are hacks and have acne in real life, and doesn’t understand why you people never carry supply!!
His friends find him funny (even when he gets into the rocket fuel), so that’s all that matters.
It’s [NERF] or nothing!
This thread has been totally derailed. Let’s get back to the real issues.
TC – you stink
KN – l2p
I hope this refocuses everyone on the real issues. You’re welcome!
It’s [NERF] or nothing!
Not bragging. Just stating sometimes people need to adjust their games when the game itself changes.
I thought we adjusted pretty well last week
I like FA, but man some of your forum posters are odd birds. I’ve always wondered if the rest of the server is like that, or if most of your crew just cringe whenever they see these people post.
The rest of us are worse.
It’s [NERF] or nothing!
We’d be more “versatile” if we could put more skills on our bars. It seems like we are limited in builds just like the other classes (with kits we have a few more buttons available, but that depends on build as well). Though we can’t swap weapons so having main weapons and a weapon kit takes up one of our skill slots so we are less versatile!
It’s [NERF] or nothing!
Saying we should just spec something else is utterly rediculous.
I rest my case.
If you are not willing to adapt to situation I have little to say. I have 4 different professions full exotics 80 with a lot of different equipment sets. I change builds and stat-builds constantly as situation dictates, as battle mechanics and threats evolve.
If you’d re-read the tread from beginning you’d see that I didn’t say a word regarding If i think retaliation is overpowered or not. That was not my goal to defend it. I was just disturbed by this attitude “I charge, I hit things as hard as I can, I die. Anet, FIX THIS!” that appeared in first post and continued throughout. That’s all.
So you change your gear and build depending on what size group you come across in the borderlands? That sounds somewhat suspicious.
It’s [NERF] or nothing!
Hey guys, hope you actually follow through with your words!
Countless times I’ve seen people post “I’m leaving,” only to come back a month later and make another “I’m leaving” post with a new patch. Anet has metrics that track classes being played, I’m 100% positive. And look at Engies, I believe they are the lowest population and have had lots of attention recently.
Seriously. Posting I quit Rangers in the forum is like the most useless thing to do. I refuse to do it, there’s absolutely no point. Turn your words into action people. Just stop playing a Ranger if you’re truly dissatisfied with the class. No amount of whining on the forums will change anything.
You might want to check the Engineer forums before you talk about all the loving they got!
It’s [NERF] or nothing!
My confusion stems from the fact that the enemy players just run around and let you and your turrets pepper them. I’m not saying I don’t like playing a turret build, but the opponents in the video were as bad, if not worse, than npcs.
Is it just me?
It’s [NERF] or nothing!
No. Use a Ranger for that.
Edit: I should add that I much much prefer my Ranger or Warrior alt for killing in Orr because they do it faster and with less effort.

It’s [NERF] or nothing!
I think it’s rather funny how every time we face FA, the excuses for why they don’t win start rolling within a day or two of reset. Excuses always begin with “They’re 2v1 us”… then people point out that TC also has control of the 3rd servers territory… and are attacking the 3rd servers SMC.
Then excuses move to guilds transferring to TC. Then people point out that only a few medium sized WvW guilds have transferred here since release, while one of our largest WvW guilds has left. Meanwhile FA has had 4 just last week transfer… from a Tier 1 server.
Inevitably the blame shifts to saying we have more numbers… but as proven by Kaineng, we have very little players outside of NA. Sure we have some, but not nearly enough to compete with the likes of the Oceanics from Kaineng, or any of the Tier 1 servers.
Ultimately this then brings about name calling… calling us roleplayers and saying that we are bad in the open field… when to be honest, our guild has rarely lost a fight in open field against FA. Are we going to say it never happens? No, but we win far more fights in the open field than we lose, and I think there are several guilds that can say the same thing.
Bottom line… TC finds a way to win. Whether through better organization, better tactics… or hell, maybe we just roleplay better and that’s the tipping point.
Whatever the reason, in every week that TC has battled, we’ve gone up against some of the best servers and have had nothing but compliments from the likes of Kaineng, Blackgate, Sanctum or Rall, Sea of Sorrows, Dragonbrand and Maguuma. The only server who we seem to constantly see excuses coming from?
Well, I think everyone can see the pattern from FA.
It’s really a shame that some take this game so personally and get upset. It’s one of the strong traits of Tarnished Coast. We used to get our kitten handed to us… and instead of trash talking on the forums, or making us excuses, we looked at why we died and learned from it. We’ve had our kitten handed to us by the likes of Blackgate, SoS, SoR, etc… we didn’t trash talk (Ask them if you want)… we came back fighting and got better each time.
Hopefully we’ll see less of the trash talking/excuse making from FA next week and more of this ‘superior open field fighting’.
This is as close as I’ll get to trash talking another server… Good luck to you next week.
Kaineng, it’s been a pleasure to fight you guys this week. We hope that you’re enjoying it as much as we are.
No excuses here, you are obviously far superior at sitting in a chair pushing buttons. I would assume you are also bigger, stronger, smarter and wealthier than everyone who plays a character on the FA server.
Feel better?

If 4 people lose to 1 thief, its nothing but a l2 kitten ue. If 2 people lose to 1 thief, its either a l2 kitten ue, or they were both glass cannons and the thief caught them by suprise. Only thief build that needs a nerf is the p/d condition build.
95% of wvwrs are clueless zergers. If all you do is run in a blob, why do you expect to win against a skilled roamer thief?
Because of this thieves do not pay for their mistakes and they are class without risk. It seems unfair and promote skilless gameplay.
Who even cares that thieves don’t pay for their mistakes? Neither does anyone running in a blob, and thats 95% of wvw population.
Here’s what timespace said about killing ppl in zergs:
“As a thief player I sort of like zergs. The general zerger is so clueless when it comes to game mechanics, that it isn’t difficult to pick them off one by one from middle of their zerg. xD
Sure, sometimes they revieve faster than I can stomp with haste, but that doesn’t matter. By revieving they can at best delay their ultimate fate: I just down them again and again until they die to downed penalty. :P”Ya, but there is no contradiction. The point is that stealth is strong against clueless people. I can’t for example surf an organised guild group.
So by virtue of running in a group (zerg) everyone becomes a clueless player?

Here’s my experience on Tier 1 and 2.
Get into TS so you can hear the commanders actual commands.
Run with the large, co-ordinated force.
Watch as the game ascends to a higher level where it’s no longer about your individual skill and effort, and instead you become a part of a much larger whole, able to pull of feats that will blow your mind only thanks to what is summed up as, or dumbed down to, “The Zerg”.From the outside, from a roamer, or small group perspective zerging looks ridiculous. It’s only once you fully invest in zerg vs zerg that you come to appreciate what the hell is going on. Commander vs Commander, Guild vs Guild, Discipline, moving as one collective force, trying to outplay an opposing monster who, if a mistake is made, will roll right over you and yours.
There’s nothing here to fix. This is the height of warfare. Beautiful, beautiful warfare.
Except while one army is playing the other one is sleeping.

There are plenty of resources on the internet showing possible spawn locations.
Do you not see the problem here?
You are unable to use a search engine? Not my problem.
I do believe his problem is that there isn’t enough information in game to lead to the objects, but we would all like to thank you for your valuable and not at all negative input.
I don’t see how there isn’t… Talk to the coordinator, he says “these objects may be covered in dirt or snow now blah blah blah”
Talk to refugee “i lost my goblet in wayfarer foothills”
Talk to other refugee “i lost my soldier in diessa”
Go to area and lo and behold “snow covered object” appears not far from the refugee path…. go to diessa and amazingly “dirt covered object” is also not far from the path….
I found them both with about 5 min of looking for each one. And I didn’t talk to anyone else in-game about it… and I didn’t look it up on the internet either.
Plenty of information if you actually take the time to talk to the npcs, read what they say… and put on your critical thinking caps.
The Diessa one was nowhere near the path when I found it. You got lucky, congratulations.

5 hours without a post? What’s going on here?
People are bored with WvW and GW2?
Need to make it fun for yourself! Here’s how [NERF] rolls in WvW
1) Get a group of [NERF] Engineers on TS
2) Find an enemy zerg (must outnumber you at least 5 to 1)
3) Don’t listen to reason … charge in and throw everything you have in the air
4) Die horribly while laughing with the TS group
5) Laugh again as the sad person in the zerg types /laugh on his lonely keyboard
It’s [NERF] or nothing!
Don’t forget, All this time and engineer downed state still represents no threat to anyone, it’s a guaranteed easy kill once down. So that’s another good reason to target engy.
No. How is a downed engineer less a threat than a warrior or necro or ranger? They all have single target interupts. Even guardian with their aoe interupt can only use them once. Downed Ele, thief and mesmers are not a threat once you learn to adjust for their teleport. In comparison to all others, engineer has one of the best downs because they have 1 single target interupt and an aoe interupt.
There isn’t time for the AoE to fire off. Even with the tow line they have time to get up and spike you.
It’s [NERF] or nothing!
Just wait for someone to jump in and answer “blah blah blah hundred nades”. There’s not much you can do against them because Engineers (in most cases) lack the burst power to knock them down. They’ll just go invisible (It’s not really stealth) and run if they get hurt too much. I use bombs and thumper turret to keep from being an easy target.
It’s [NERF] or nothing!
Some idiot claimed that he would shoot a dragon a few times then afk for a while and get yellows for the event. I worked hard on every dragon for a long time and received greens rarely. When I started running to the chest immediately after the event ended I realized that it isn’t how you contribute to the event but how fast you get to the chest.
I guess my suggestion is to make dragon events drop a “dragon bag” the gives everyone who EARNED IT an equal chance at decent loot.
Otherwise people will keep jacking around during the fight, and running for the chest to get the good loot

Yeah, we’ll do a “build of the night” just to spice things up. That night a bunch of us were running heal bombs, so it was a lot of running in circles making things go BOOM!

Hmm, as eldain said – you didn’t really damage any enemies throughout the video.
Kind of odd.
He was on medic duty that night. If he had abandoned his role we would have had him executed.
It’s [NERF] or nothing!
I’ve put in more hours on my engineer than any of my other characters combined, and I think the entire problem Engineers are facing is that to be effective there are certain skills you have to use. If you look at the builds on the forums there are only a few that are viable for “real” PvP combat. We have a whole bunch of kits and skills that will make you ineffective if you try to use them. For example, I originally liked the idea of a bunker turret Engineer, but the turret’s damage and health is too low to make them effective as a build. (Yes I still use them, but mostly because I run around like a nut and try to knock people off cliffs. Not much good in sieges and open areas)

They are too cute. As a fix I would suggest removing the other races.
