Hey Ezeriel. I don’t think I’ve witnessed this port hacking but PLEASE report it if you see them. All of you, from any of the three servers. We don’t want them here either!

The only way to clean out hackers is to right click -> report, as sadly (smartly?) Anet has not given us the option to vote people off the island.

Well then. That’s over.

SoS, mad props, guys. Despite having the lowest NA population of the three servers, you came out fighting every night – after weathering TC-FA-SoS, SoR-TC-SoS and now this. There’s a reason that SoS BL would be the next to queue up after EBG.

However, I hope (maybe?) that we’re parting ways now – I want that JQ/TC/DB fight!

Onto the next RNG.

Bring it, ANet.

Thanks to everyone who just participated with NAGA, INVC, xTyr and Awe to do our Friday Quaggan Rush in EBG. Lots of fun!

I’ll post some clips later (if I remember) but I think all the guild officers in witness agree that xTyr won this one, dethroning the NAGA champion. (fistshake!)

(For those of you SoS and CD that may have been a little confused and were trying to be considerate by backing off – it really is a last man standing situation, so we were collectively trying to suicide. I appreciate the consideration though!)

And just for the memories, here’s the goodbye Quaggan Rush we held for CD after we decided to transfer. In all of its complete, uncut glory. Good times.

I’m happy to see that CD is able to have some foolhardy quagganery without us. WvW needs MOAR QUAGGANS and our Quaggan army salutes your pack!

Edit: What is up with this weird white space I cannot seem to get rid of? Boo.

For those of you itching for 1v1 or 2v2 (or any small-scaled) fights, I believe something is in the works for this evening! 5pm Server Time.

Cross-server Fight Club. No zergs allowed!

Get off of the forums and flex your muscles!

(I think the BL is still tbd.)

And then there is going to be a parade of dolyaks, I trust.

Corrected the time!

(But pure numbers disregard very human things like morale, burnout, and boredom mind you, and I think it’s a pretty terrible rubric.)

How should you be doing worse and us better? We have less people participating in wvw than last week and our rating is a bit less. That’s how I read our numbers. Your glicko numbers are up. I know RE is on TC this week now. Not sure who else has transferred but people have admitted to the fairweathers being out this week for you. Your attendance and numbers are up. SoS, glicko numbers going down cause your attendance up and not beating us enough. That is how i read it from a pure numbers standpoint.

Please read the bold, bottom part of my post. I think your reply is a different way of phrasing what I wrote.

Like I said the “pure numbers” – defined by ANet and this WvW system they’ve designed around the glicko – are a terrible rubric IMHO. None of us are performing where our “pure numbers” say we should. Arbitrary numbers, vague numbers, speculation, theory etc. sure, but not from the “pure numbers” standpoint as intrinsic and defined by the WvW system.

I’m not going to disagree with your opinion on someone else trying to talking about the environment of another server, while not being on it.

But I did want to point this out: http://mos.millenium.org/na

kRAVen.4195

This is a pure numbers issue. Not a play style nor a psyche. We are enjoying the matchup and performing close to our rating. You are not.

Here are the pure numbers:

Evolution
Crystal Desert: -13.532
Tarnished Coast: 38.879
Sea of Sorrows: -26.146

According to the “pure numbers” we should be doing worse. SoS and CD should be doing better.

(But pure numbers disregard very human things like morale, burnout, and boredom mind you, and I think it’s a pretty terrible rubric.)

I sometimes wonder if this is what happens when a bad mathematical experiment meets a bad psychological test.

I will say there is one thing of value in all this. Each server is learning what it’s made of, and knows who will be there when rockbottom hits.

Er, except for TC. I’m busy playing Dishonored. I think I’ll go back to Civ 5 once I’m done with this though. Hmm. Maybe I’ll read…. a book.

Hehehe, some someone said “less berserker gear” and someone else heard “PVT gear.” Weird. And “how to zerg better” got twisted into “you must never roam.” Another odd twist.

All the straw man arguments everywhere! Basic reading comprehension fail! Fallacious chest-thumping!

Welcome to the Internet!

When did this become the rip on CD thread?

I think it’s more of a “CD ripping itself and everyone else” thread. More to the point, it’s just one or two CD guys picking fights. Just ignore it.

In re this, I’m sure CD has a forum, trainings, and server meeting they can bring this stuff up and talk to each other constructively about it, yeah? I’m sure bringing up this stuff there may save it from the trolling, knee-jerk shooting down, and any defensive responses derived from offense to folks’ server pride honor thingys. At the very least it won’t get any consideration here, I don’t think.

They had some pretty close, hardworked for wins these two weeks prior. That’s nothing to sneeze at. I’m sure the rest of us can let them work out their internal concerns on their own – it’s really not any of our places to step in for them. Even if it comes from the best of intentions. Everyone else, relax.

This thread is depressing on so many levels. If CD ever “improves” to the level of TC where players have to do sentry duty, players must be on VoIP, players must run around in at least 15-20 man zerg balls dutifully following the commander, and players must all wear PVT gear with masses of AoE fields/finishers for their utilities… I will say that I will be one of the first to transfer off.

No one on TC “must” do any of that. It’s all volunteer…. People do things because they have a desire to be better at WvW. Plain and simple.

Wait.

So all those hours I was watching hockey and just decided to idle to watch a keep because, you know, I’m not really playing GW2 anyways so why not… you’re saying I was being cleverly forced into doing it?

TC wtf guys

I did not sign up for this kind of voodoo manipulation!

You’ve been manipulated by your own desire to win!! :-O

Better get on that.

Well, I was totally fine with it until someone decided to break the illusion.

THANKS GUYS.

And here I was, thinking that our zergs are some of the goofiest one’s around. Military? Gimme a friggin break!

I chuckled when i read that post as well……

A wild Aurust appears!

Your matchup seems competitive, how are you bored enough to drudge through this thread?

The reality of the situation is that we’re probably going to see matchups against higher tiered servers again – so I guess we’ll see you then, Aurust, for yet another beating. It is something we are working on preparing for! Because that’s how ANet trolls.

On a serious note, a good indication of fun is how many people continue to do an activity. I think that it is safe to say that given TC’s relatively large (and thriving) WvW population – as pointed out excessively by CD, SoS, and TC posters – TC is having a blast.

Outside of this ridiculous matchup (THANKS ANET), I’ve never had more fun in WvW. If you’re not having fun, you’re not getting enough disco time with Paulus!

Havok teams? Everybody has them. But they aren’t needed this week much. This is blatantly clear to everyone, so why pretend and waste people’s time? Especially since I cannot think of a good enough reason as to why not let underlevels and militia flip stuff. My ranger is almost level 40. I’m on the karma/exp train. If I don’t level her in WvW, it’s probably not going to happen! (I’m really really over the PvE in this game but won’t bring her out to WvW if she’s just going to be a liability to the team; this is the first week in a while that she’s not.)

Fun is measured by how many people continue to do stuff. WvWers who aren’t having fun leave, they quit the game. If SoS and CD are retaining their WvWers and their WvWers show up, rain or shine, doing what they enjoy doing, clearly those folks are having fun. I’d say the same of TC – last week during our terribly uphill battle versus SoR, despite Dragon Bash grind (THANKS ANET) – our serious WvWers were still coming out to play because we were still having fun.

It’s when your WvWers don’t come out that I’d say there might be a fun deficiency.

TL;DR: Ellie, hun, where are my cookies!

(And many thanks to SoS – despite both of us getting wrecked last week, you’re putting in some really solid, well placed blows. Ow! I’m still sore there!)

Yes, we did win against them but not before RE transferred to us.

Sov, RE transferred into TC last week. They started on coming into the Coast on Monday. They haven’t played DB as TCers yet.

Though, my “formal” introduction to RE was Saturday, NA prime. There were a handful of us hanging out in CD BL garrison, north inner, when CD made their big rallied push to reclaim it. I think that was actually the largest CD group I’ve seen this matchup in a BL, maybe 50(?) total. They were pounding on the inner gate, got it to 10%, 5%…

… and then the 20 RE (plus a few map militia) that were stacked, waiting around the corner on the stairs, cut through them like water. In a matter of maybe 20 seconds they’d wiped that entire push.

Yeah, I’ve seen nothing but good play out of these guys. When (if?) we get back to less ridiculous matchups (please Anet!), I’m sure it’ll be great to have them running amok. Though I’d have loved to have them in force out there with us during SoR.

Find this more fun than the (terrible) previous matchup? why not.

Because there’s freakin’ nothing to do.

Sorry Wen Jie but those “numbers” you are seeing are Fairweathers, Alts, and Map Completionists for the most part.

As someone from TC this match bites.

Listen to Chris he has a much better grasp on the situation than you.
(except for thinking Hickeroar’s post was yours)

Yeah.

I know several of my CD friends have whispered to ask: this explains why, as soon as a tower or keep flips on a non-EBG map, all of a sudden it seems like 50 TC show up. You have the map competitionists and the karma/exp trains for underlevels… and then the addicts.

You have to understand that we have, at almost any given time, at least 150 people with an (unhealthy) WvW addiction logged in. Some of them are idling, others pretending to PvE. EBG has a queue. People notice the flip from the MOS map or someone on mumble exclaims, “there must be a fight!” and then everyone shows up.

Many times to find only 10 people. And no, 50 Toasters were not necessary, but here they are. And there’s a thing to be had.

And that’s why you’re not seeing guild groups, but just a random mashup of TC tags.

And it has little to do with anything but the WvW population disparity and this matchup algorithm. It’s nothing CD or SoS has control over – except to hit things fast, hard and keep moving. SoS has been doing this for a few weeks now and are pretty spectacular about it. A large enough group? Maybe siege up and see how long you can hold. But those 50 TC are still going to show up.

I opened a book and sat my character in one of the Bay keeps this weekend. I sentried that thing for 5 hours. Nobody ever knocked on the door.

It is making our large base of WvW addicts twitchy.

And then they get bored. And they show up here. Like me, I’ve never been this social on the forums before, but it’s tangentially related to WvW and I just need a hit…

Yeah, I wouldn’t worry or read into this matchup too much.

Because ANet.

Very classy from NAGA, trolling CD north camp. There’s a lot of difference in being defeated and getting stomped with multiple concussion. You just can’t learn anything after that.

If this was when I think it was, it sounds like you’re mad that we took your north camp. We took it, we were fighting a few CDers in it, one dude turned tail and ran BACK into your spawn. Obvs we were trying to kill him before he did and pursued him, but alas, he won and got through the portal. And then a party of maybe seven of us were hoping some CD would come out to fight us (we keep hearing CD complain about zergs, so we though you’d appreciate a smaller scaled fight) and then left after a matter of maybe 10 minutes when nobody did.

If you want to keep your north camp from being capped, it may be important to defend it. Maybe siege it up a little? But throwing out screenshots which do not tell the whole picture is just a waste of everyone’s time.

That’s how zerg vs. zerg works. As a Guild Wars 1 vet who played in a top 100 GvG guild for awhile, zerg vs. zerg battles in this game are a joke …

I agree that they don’t satisfy the same itch. Don’t get me wrong, ZvZ is its own art but Anet needs to bring back GvGs. It won’t be the same as GW1, but that’s inherent in the different combat system/skills GW2 brings. My entire GW1 GvG guild stopped playing GW2 because it was not quite up to their expectations in this regard. Sad fase.

Or at least let us create custom sPvP arenas already. Then we can jerry-rig our own ad hoc GvGs. (I am rather excited about this!)

It makes me a little sad because I think that a lot of people who WvW would just adore GvGs if they were set up similar to GW1’s. Or if any code to support them existed at all.

For some reason, I feel that TC is tracking our guild. No matter where we go, from helping SOS to flip their keeps back, defending our BL to wrecking havoc at TCBL, a super Zerg with familiar tags will materialize shortly after and run over our small 30 men team. Maybe I am just paranoid!!

I’m pretty sure it’s 2 different groups who happened to port to different WPs though.. And since your group was one of the bigger roaming zergs, we were the response teams!

Shesh, that mash of at least 50 and more from Awe, Naga and xTyr was following us everywhere from TC BL to CD BL Garr to SOS BL! Pretty sure it was the same bunch unless you guys have grown so big since moving =p

Anyway, good fun. Had us looking over our shoulder all the time anticipating you lot, know it was just a matter of time you came. Pretty flattering to have such a huge group tracking our tiny guild

Actually, NAGA was doing our weekly guild training session in SoS BL today and just happened to have gotten lucky enough to have you guys show up in our map.

I wouldn’t worry too much about the matchup. I think (though you may correct me if I am mistaken) some of CD will be taking a breather this week after two hard fought wins. Don’t know about SoS (they can speak for themselves, I’m sure!), but a lot of TC veterans refused to leave WvW last week when we were up against and getting beaten down by SoR. Now they can and are taking a moment to take a break.

Finally get this Dragon Bash stuff done. Maybe rock some goofy wings on my asura.

As an aside: when we went up against SoR, we learned a lot. Not simply by observing, but also because we literally had the SoR zerg and the TC zerg take a moment to stop, communicate with each other, and then push. After the wipe, feedback was exchanged. We didn’t find it condescending at all. This went on for hours – it was not only extremely useful but really rather entertaining.

This mismatch is on ANet. I realize that most of CD is happy where they’re at (and good, WvW should be fun!) and their particular style of play. But I do know of others – you know who you are! – who put in a lot of time in trying to improve the quality of your WvW. They find the fun in well-executed tactics and strategy, enjoy the challenge in improvement.

I have no desire in depositing any sort of feedback unsolicited because many people here obviously don’t want it and I have no problem respecting that; if you’re interested, you are welcome to PM me.

Oh and @KWBH: Hi!

@SoS: Y’all have got quite a bit of fight in you! Though I’m sure this is not as oppressive as SoR last week, hehe. Hopefully it’s a bit of a breather for you too. I get bored of PvE really quick and am hopelessly addicted to WvW – so from those of us here on the Coast like me: thank you!

CD has had a great couple weeks in T3, we stretched to just about the limits of our sick days and mental endurance and pulled out a couple close wins. After playing 2 hours in T2, I can tell you that we can’t hang in this tier. I’m the first one to fight against impossible odds (I kept SoH in TCBL for the first hour after reset tonight despite the 3 wandering freight trains) but I can also tell when a match is not worth stressing over. I’m not going to stress over this matchup.

Here’s hoping that after the big reset night we can have some fights we have a chance to win. Like… at least 25% of them, hehehe.

On a positive note, it was nice to take out my anger on some NAGA folks. I love you guys, but you’re red now, so you get smashed with Madam Hammer. Red is her least favorite color. Next time I would appreciate if you wouldn’t kill me so many times, though. Thanks.

Huh, that was probably you in Hills on reset in TC BL. I should have figured! That was a fun fight in Lord’s. I did want to thank CD and SoS for sticking it out in TC BL on reset for a bit – all of TC’s maps are queued on reset which means we didn’t have any other WvWing accessible for about 45 minutes. (So it really was appreciated.) Keep bringing the good fight. Especially those maneuvers out of the SoH playbook; if ever there was a time to stress test them, it’d be now.

After an hour or two of reset when everyone else left, PiNK was running a WvW karma/exp train around the BL, NOPE was bent on turning animals, enemies into moas, and some of NAGA was having a quaggan tea party with a strangely frightening yet charismatic snowman.

I do think it is unfair to CD 2.0 (last few months) and CD 3.0 (current CD) WvWers to stereotype CD as engaging in an overabundance of taunting tactics. That server’s WvW population – like most servers – has changed drastically. Old faces have moved on, new faces have emerged.

A lot of the trolling guilds that gave CD such an awful image early in GW2’s history had left CD in the end-of-free-transfers exodus. (Not all, obviously – you’re always going to have some. Nature of internet gaming, sadly.) I’d just let that go and build on what you’ve seen in the recent past.

Going forward in these TC matchups: if you ever have a problem with any [NAGA] being completely out of line with the spirit of the game, please feel free to screenshot and send me a private message via these forums. I’ll gladly look into it. I don’t think ours guys were out there behaving badly earlier, though – you’re welcome to PM if you think I am in error.

I do expect a screenshot, though, if you want to talk.

Being rowdy is of course part of keeping WvW a fun environment – but being kittenish is not. That’s definitely not the image anyone wants to bring to the TC community. These folks are a pretty classy lot.

Cheers!
- Shazirah.

After going back and forth with CS, the third person that emailed me finally told me that others have also reported rollbacks, they don’t know the cause, and unfortunately they cannot refund gold that disappears from GW2.

I do not know why the first two reps could not be bothered to take the time to treat me with this refreshing honesty, but I do appreciate that the third did.

As there is nothing else to add, if a moderator could go ahead and close this, that’d be great.

Thank you. – S.

What gets me is that had the CS rep responding to my ticket actually done some investigating (or did more than just skim my email) they would not have tried to feed me some painfully ridiculous line about how has something to do with connectivity between my computer and the server.

30 gold disappearing from the GW2 universe is a self-contained problem ON their server. It exists on the server completely outside of my connection to it. It has nothing to do with connectivity between my computer and their servers.

I’d rather someone actually do the work before they tell me they won’t resolve the issue caused on their end. This is just intellectually dishonest and really kind of insulting.

Also, an MMORPG where gold just disappears from the universe and CS cannot be bothered to look into it? :\

I had the same problem – there were no fields in Chrome or IE.

They really need to fix this.

Until they do, though, someone told me you could send the support ticket in via email. Just send it to support@guildwars2.com w/the same info.

I received a boilerplate email reply this morning that made it clear that GW2 CS barely read my email and did zero investigating.

30 gold disappeared from the GW2 universe. It is not in my bank, my character, my mail, nor with the people who originally sent the gold.

It takes a great leap of imagination to blame that on some connectivity issue between the GW2 servers and me. If there was a problem between here and there, the gold should still be on the servers. Somewhere.

Instead I got this email about how it is out of their “control.” I would like to think that when 30 gold vanishes from the GW2 universe, it is wholly and solely within ANet’s sphere.

I am fairly certainly that a gold-selling algorithm went off erroneously. It is making me nervous to take more legitimate gold out of my mail now (which I have to do for these transfers) for fear that an even larger quantity is going to be removed from my account – to which, when I write a ticket, I am going to get another nonsense “connectivity issue between us and you, sorry-out-of-luck” reply.

Every single one of the mails already had the “this is gold to help subsidize/transfer the guild” in it.

Can I please hear from someone who cares? Someone who would please bother to investigate before telling me SOL?

Check the logs, check my mail.

This is the second time I’ve had to deal with GW2 CS and two out of two times, it makes me not want to play or support this game anymore. :\

I am stupendously frustrated.

1) My guild is in the process of transferring servers. Today, some of the people on the new server sent me 30 gold via the mailing system to help defray the transferring cost. One person sent 10 gold, the other sent 20 gold.

Almost immediately after I deposited the 30 gold into the bank in LA, my client booted me and my account was rolled back. I ended up back in the Heart of the Mists – the emails are still there but the 30 gold was removed. You are absolutely welcome to check the mails (as they are still in my inbox) to see that this is the case.

This is gold that was sent to me for the purpose of helping my guild mates transfer servers and I would like to know why you removed it from my account. I would also like to have it returned to me. Transferring servers as a guild is such a headache without this also becoming an issue.

2) So, after I’ve discovered that the gold was removed, I tried to make a support ticket. I keep getting the “Call back number and Time Required” error – even though there are NO fields for a callback number or time. I tried it in both Chrome and IE. So I cannot make a support ticket.

Can somebody please help me here? This is going to be such a frustrating guild transfer if you decide to constantly make gold meant to pay for it disappear.

I realize that EU needs a better reset time, but you just shifted that problem over to SEA and NA West.

Splitting the reset times just makes so much more sense and would have been the proper solution to the awkward EU reset hour.

[EsF] 300-400

[Awe] at least 200

Just what I’ve been told.

Hmm, you forgot Estaily: ~50.

Joy, I guess this means t2 will no longer be very balanced. Or whatever t4 was XD

I apologize that my facetiousness was not self-evident. Estaily is one person – and an awesome WvWer, mind you – but one person.

Shazirah.8350

And just as an FYI:

LOM, Lime, SoH, Orb, and PA are still holding it down tight in CD and (from my current understanding) absolutely intend to keep fighting the good fight there.

CD also saw a few new guilds (LoR, Echo) at the close of free transfers that absolutely bring it in WvW when they come out and play. pDyn stepped it up and is out there frequently.

And of course, KoME is always causing a respectable ruckus during SEA/Oceanic times.

These are all stellar WvWing guilds still on CD.

The WvW on CD may not be at the same level of population or competitiveness as the Tier 1 or Tier 2 servers, but CD is far from dead. I’ve had ample opportunity to fight alongside these guilds and their commanders. They know their stuff. Casual WvWers are still going to have a lot of fun out there (and the NA side will hardly feel an impact).

Forums are notorious for giving emo people an avenue to vent their rage while the more reasonable people tend to restrain themselves and are thus not represented. I would not say that the forums are a true representation of the feelings and strength of the current CD community.

I think I’d rather measure that in all the heartfelt goodbye whispers, TS chats I’ve had in the past 24 hours since announcing.

Yes, NAGA, EsF and Awe will be on Tarnished Coast – we are bringing a small army, so expect to see our tags again. We’ve been promised a challenge out there in WvW and fully expect to engage in some brutal WvW action.

(And I don’t know why people seem so interested in spreading around misinformation – in order to be a “mercenary” you actually have to turn a profit. Most of these guilds that are transferring are going to lose money in doing so.)

Sir Tryce, saw you pop into CD LA the other day and I thought I was in the wrong server!

Silence on bug reports is the worst. Doesn’t help that feeling that the ridiculous number of necro bugs – and necros, generally – continue to be neglected. An acknowledgement (to confirm or deny!) would be nice.

Anyway! Can a moderator cross-post this to the necro forum as well? Or must I go over and make a separate posting?

It is a bug first and foremost – so needs to be here – but there should probably be mention on the necro list and I don’t see it there.

Didn't know Fractals scaled like this.

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

Posted by: Shazirah.8350

Shazirah.8350

The Archdiviner is supposed to go invulnerable at certain points of the fight – that’s when someone has to grab the hammer for the seal. That happens in increments of 25% on his life bar. No bug here.

IIRC, the other three invulnerables in that particular fractal are due to a running-amuck non-exploit code they put in whereas (basically) the concept is if the mobile cannot reach you to damage you, you cannot damage it. In these other non-Archdiviner scenarios, that code is triggering when it should not. (Because there’s a clear path between the mobile and yourself for it to run through.)

This is a general issue, not directly specific to Fractal scaling.

I’ve seen this issue while using long range weapons. It needs to be fixed on their end, but until then, if you move around and change your relative position to the mobile, it bumps the code to correctly realizing that the mobile can, in fact, come to you and hit you.

Edited for clarity.

Despite boons, Chill of Death is still bugged

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

Shazirah.8350

Chill of Death: This trait now deals bonus damage for each boon that it removes. One boon removed deals 50% extra damage, two boons deals 100% extra, and three boons removed will grant an extra 150% damage to the ability.

While this is all well and good, are we ever going to get this trait’s bug fixed? It still only applies to an enemy at ~15%, not 25%. If you stop attacking between 15 – 25%, it still does not go off at all – so it’s not a cast-time error. I just retested it in both PvP and PvE.

Even though you guys went through the trouble of revamping the skill, you didn’t resolve the bug…

Please fix this. There are so many necromancer bugs and this one seems like a much easier fix than most.

Yeah, I have this problem on the “smallest” UI setting as well. Toggling different graphic options has no effect. It’s been that way since beta and extremely obnoxious. It’s hard to read and bad on the eyes.

I hate how big and clumsy the UI window are on normal and large, so… this just seems to be the way the cookie crumbles.
