Played around with the Deadeye spec for a while.
Dont like it that much from the playstyle but it works for some i guess.
Would be great if Kneel would be an F-ability and not bind to the Rifle.
Rename it to ‘Perfect Aim’ or ‘Focus’ or ‘whatever’ and just make it reduce your movement speed by 50%. Give it a cooldown and not an initiative cost.
For all ranged weapons(Shortbow, pistol, rifle) it grants more range and higher damage plus a special action button when you reach max malice stack. Tadaaa! A viable choice for all ranged weapons.
Rifle gets the special bonus that it alters your rifle skills. So 5 normal skills and 5 special skills while you are in your stance + the extra interaction with malice stacks.
Would be a lot more viable. Grants more choices etc.

On the matter Pulmonary impact i would have adressed it in an interesting way. My change to it would be to let it only proc on knockdowns and stuns. I would change the trait fist flurry to deliver a knockdown at the end of the chain. To activate PI you need to land the staff stealth attack, fist flurry, scorpion wire, basilik venom or the knockdown trap and interupt someone. This would make it a lot better. The damage could be raised aswell because it cant be spammed anymore.

Oh yes i like the signet of agility buff a lot aswell.
Was hoping for a class specific raid buff like engineer got and some
interesting additions to our dps rotation.
Improvements to underused utilities etc.

Easy solution. Make a minimum amount of games played required to get a shot at the title. Something around 150 games played seems reasonable for me.

In my oppinion it doesnt look that good at all. Cant say that they outdid themself.
Its not bad, it just doesnt fit the shortbow or the tiger theme.
For a tiger themed bow i expected something way more feline. Its too bulky in my oppinion.
Please dont release this skin as the new legendary short bow.
Here is a better tiger bow.

1. 15k HP base, would be around 21k with Maruder.
O.K.
2. 15 initiative baseline and make Prepardness where initiative cost for all skills is decreased by 1. (Ex. BP would be 5 initiative not 6 with this trait.)
15 Ini baseline okay, rest not.
3. Add F2 blinding powder skill. Why does Thief not have this? I’m surprised this isn’t even in the game considering Theives are “master of stealth”
Could agree with that on a 60 sec. CD.
4. Replace blinding powder utility skill with “Evasion” – evade all attacks for 6s
Would make thieves way too strong. 6s to freely rampage … hell no
5. Deadly Arts: Executioner trait rework – all attacks ignore armor and protection from targets below 75%, damage is increased by 20% when target is below 25%
So you want to ignore 967/1118/1271 armor rating depending on the class and on top of that the reduction from protection + 20% increased dmg at 25% health. Sounds completely broken.
6. Significant CD reductions to certain thief utility skills (SR, Roll for Initiative, Haste, Etc)
You can reduce the cds already when you trait for it
7. Dash dodge – gain 2.5s of quickness for every dodge.
Quickness on thief is really strong with the buffed autoattacks. Would be broken.
Bound – gain 2.5s of protection for ever dodge.
So perma protection .. nope
Lotus training – give ur opponents 5s of weakness( 20% dmg and condi reduction)
You can have permanent weakness uptime on your target already when you trait DA and DD. No need for more.
8. Steal – CD decreased by 5s
Steal is already so strong with all the enhancements. Reducing the cd even more would be crazy.
9. Reveal does not work on Thieves

10. And finally, fix the cluster bomb. Why does that thing defy gravity?
Agree with that kind of … its nice to set up your burst .. clusterbomb .. switch weapons … blackpowder .. heartseeker … steal .. backstab … can make it hit all at once. Fixing the travel speed would ruin this combo.
As i see it you don´t aim to balance thief you want to make it broken. We have Revenant already as an example for overtuning. Thief maybe needs minor fixes but no buffs. The other overperforming proffessions need a nerf.

Yes my main is Thief. I also play Ele, Guard, Nec, Engi, War and Rev in PvP. Depends on the enemy team composition.

Flanking strike has an activation time of 1/2 second and an evade duration of 1/2 second as far as i know.
What you experienced happens maybe 1 out of 100 times. He just got lucky or predicted really well what you are going to do.
Its like interupting the engie turret heal. Happens!

It wasn’t that bad.
Yes the meta was boring. Balance non existant.
Yes some kittens abused the system. Happens.
The guys working at Arenanet are not perfect, they do make mistakes, gave AI and passives a bit too much love etc.
But overall this game is still awesome.
Try out another mmo and come back to appreciate what you have here.
Only things you care about can make you rage.
Keep giving constructive feedback and hope for the best.

I solo q up to legendary.
Wanted to do it on my main – Thief (Around 5700 games played – 57 % Winrate).
Gave up on that idea when i reached ruby.
Started to switch between professions as needed (Auramancer, Scrapper, Reaper, Power -Rev).
Only played thief when the enemy comp allowed it.
Worked out for me.

Hi! Yeah Pistol/Pistol is actually a lot of fun.
Here is what i am using in pvp right now.
It works quite well for my purpose. [+1 and decap]
Should work even better in w3 with buffood.
If you have a buddy to roam with you its perfect.
Watch out for reflects, projctile blocks and diamond skin [skill].

Winrate dropped down to around 53%.
150 games played by now – Sapphire Tier 4If your teammates know what to do you are still effective as a thief.
It´s just not as forgiving as most of the other classes.
A good ping is also neccesary to make it playable.How are you all doing so far? Still getting a lot of complaints from other players?

Here is the build i am currently using. I always try to adapt to the meta.
Will see what i face in ruby division.
The build Caed is running works well too if you have experienced teammates.
Grats on legendary division btw! 61% winrate. Thats impressive.
I just experienced that a lot of people run far and fight the druid for 10 minutes on their capped point or struggle at home with attackers. So i aimed for highest mobility to assist and turn the fights in our favor.
With a coordinated team you can probably reduce the amount of condi cleanse and go for the on interrupt traits instead.

Finally reached Ruby.
Took alltogether 204 games.
Down to 51,47% winrate.
I guess i will hit a brickwall now with solo q.
The hate from copypasta metabattle heroes is real.
Sure thief is not in the best state at the moment but still playable.
Switched over to P/P and SB. Works surprisingly well.
Dash and SB will let you fly over the map and because you are ranged you don´t have to eat all the cleave dmg flying around.
Maybe my opponents are just bad. I don´t know.
Anyway it was an interesting experience.

Here is my prof table.
I finally reached sapphire division.
Did only solo q on thief and like 7 games on nec for the achievement.
Took me around 80 games to reach the division. 57% winrate.
Faced good and not so experienced premades.
Were often quite close matches.
And oh god i got called out so often.
I started to react with a simple smiley like this :-* [Kiss]. Makes them really go crazy.
Do you guys still q as thief in pvp or did you reroll to something more rewarding and easier? How is your experience so far with raging people?

It´s not just that the balance is way off.
I forced myself to watch the whole qualifiers.
It´s not nice to watch.
It´s just a huge mess.
Aoe, invuls, boons, auras and conditions get thrown around everywhere. All you see is particle effects and not much of the player animations.
They really need to take a step back and rethink all of that in my oppinion.
It´s really sad how it looks right now.

They just went overboard with all the area of effect abilities.
You really can´t see whats going on under your feet.
And in my oppinion area of effect abilities are too strong damage wise.
Its nice to have those abilities but they should point more towards utility.
Necromancer marks are really well done i think. They don´t deal huge amount of damage but allow the necromancer to land his crucial skills, transfer conditions etc.
And you can see them quite well.
Thiefs clusterbomb and choking gas are well done too.
You can drop a big poison field that slows down health regen for a short duration.
Clusterbomb is a slow projectile from distance … if you want to push high damage out with it you have to go into melee.
Would be a smart move from arenanet to shift the damage focus more into telegraphed single target skills and keep the utility part for aoe effects.
Would make it more enjoyable for viewers and casters aswell.

Damage will be lower but the condi remove and ini and health gain + dmg reduction from steal, black powder + bound dodge will allow me to stay in a fight even if i get condi bombed.

You can also use a sigil of intelligence on staff … so you can basi – black powder – bound dodge – infil/steal – backstab – weapon swap – vault.
And if you really have alot of troubles with condis you can swap out pulmonary for escapists. Your main dmg stays the same.
The mobility is not that great anymore. but you can still carry shortbow instead of staff. Your big hitter will just be backstab. and it is not so initiative hungry as staff vault.
More ini for interupts.
I tried both. Works both fine.
What i like the most is that it hits harder than maurauder while giving you more health as a buffer.
Assasins signet is great but it has not much utility. Tried that too.
