Summary: Established offbeat adult guild using TS, grouping up for everything from map completion to level 50 fractals.

Meeting of the Lost Minds [MLM], established 3/14/2007 in GW1, has always been a meeting place for casual yet experienced, friendly, intelligent(?), mature(erm…) adults. Our average age is probably around 30, and we’re mainly scattered throughout North America. We enjoy an offbeat sense of humor, but in guild chat we usually keep it clean. Ish. TS, on the other hand…

If you’re looking for a guild to run dungeons and fractals 24/7, we’re not for you.

If you’re looking for a place to play with friendly, competent adults in a relaxed, FUN atmosphere, we MIGHT be for you.

We’re all adults with lives, so individually our play times may be a bit sporadic. On any given night, we usually have 15-20 people online. We do use our website to schedule outings such as the obligatory zergs/dungeons/fractals, but also more generalized PvE. We mix it up with contests and other events, and on weekends we encourage people to grab their favorite adult bevarage, hop on Teamspeak, and enjoy the company of fellow guildies. Cards Against Humanity on TS is a monthly pastime, if that gives you some idea of our mindset!

I can’t stress enough that while we have some very skilled, helpful, knowledgable players, this is more a social guild than anything. No drama, no elitism.

If you have any questions or are interested in joining, feel free to hit up one of the guild leaders in game: Seddess or Siniminister

Beta crippled by bugs, lack of info & devs

What disappointed me most was the fact that ANet should have been putting their best foot forward with this beta event. They limited us to a very small corner of the new maps, yet so much of it was broken. I logged in last night, and this was my experience within the span of about 30 seconds: “Oh, 20 bomb shells hanging suspended in midair, that’s not right. What, this event next to me isn’t working? What about the one up north – oh, someone in map chat just said that’s stuck too.”

This whole “beta event” leaves me wondering if they have a snowball’s chance in the Ring of Fire at successfully getting this expansion out by the end of 2015.

You forgot 8.5. Needs weapon swap.

I don’t know, I feel like I’m playing half a profession. Stances aside, trying to formulate any attack strategy feels incomplete. Taunt is represented in traits, but in practice is nearly invisible. Other than going full heal (Ventari + Staff) for “future challenging content”, I don’t see how a Rev is more useful than pretty much anything in game.

In the 8 summers I’ve been leading MLM, I’ve never been more proud of a roster core as I am this year. Sure, the more casual players (and even some addicts) have been spending more time with their families doing summery-things, so fewer people may be on any given night. But the bonds that have formed in this guild have gone beyond the game (and often into the bars!), as people are meeting up frequently for weekend fun. I love this bunch!

And now that summer’s coming to an end, we expect players everywhere to be returning to the game. Beginning with our own little fantasy football league (we still need one more player!), we’ll be doing more extra-curriculars such as contests and TS3 parties to bring more people into our madness. And I guess we’re now technically a multi-game guild, as we’ve been playing the online version of Cards Against Humanity at least once a month. We’ve even been building our own custom GW2+MLM deck, so it’s that much better for this crowd!

If you’ve been looking for a new place to rest your weary feet, pull a stool up to our bar and join us in a round!

So, there’s been a new development here in MLM: We do WvW/PvP. A little. Not well, not seriously. We dabble, just for for the sake of doing something different. And you know what? The most hardcore PvE’ers among us (myself included) have been having fun, even in team arenas. We hop on vent, sometimes with adult beverages, and just have fun with it. Win, lose, whatever. Fun with friends, that’s what it’s all about.

We have a party coming up tomorrow (5/9) night – the MLM DRAFT PARTY – so if you’re up for our sort of company, now would be a great time to give us a shot. Ventrillo is not required to join, but that’s where all the fun is. ;-)

Three months and a few parties later, we here at MLM are catching our breath as the first Living Story comes to a conclusion. PvE’ers everywhere are a bit burnt out, so we’re adding some extra-curriculars to make life interesting.

Coming soon will be our first MINIMANIA (a cross between Guild Wars, WrestleMania, and the NCAA tournament) in GW2. Back in the waning years of GW1, we often hosted in-game as well as forum-based contests to keep things fresh. I believe these varied activities helped make us an even more tight-knit community, and we’ve continued doing this in GW2.

Whether you’re already on Crystal Desert, might be considering a move there, or are happy on whatever server you’re on, we’d love for you to consider us for your new home guild. Hit me up in game if interested!

People looking for PvE content like Teq or LS events can move to HoD
People and Guilds looking for WvW can move to CD

So… you’re saying the PvE scene on HoD is good? Because WvW on CD… isn’t so much.

Transfering just for the sake of transferring is not the best idea. Especially if you gonna go up by 1 rank only.

Actually, from CD to NSP we would lose a rank.. but that doesn’t matter to us at all. We’re just really tired of having to guest elsewhere for kitten near everything.

Also its my way of thinking that changing all the time won’t fix the issue. People need to work on things.

I get what you’re saying, as this was what I would tell people who left our guild back in GW1. We’re not doing everything you want when you want it? Get a little more involved.

Our search for a new home is not a knee-jerk reaction. We’ve been watching our server deteriorate over a span of 15 months, and that’s not even taking into account WvW. These days I see a select few regular commanders running PvE trains and Meta events, and then half of those are KoME people. As much as I don’t care for their drama, CD will take a big hit when KoME leaves tomorrow.

We’re tired of needing to guest elsewhere to get stuff done. It’d be nice to have a more active server (successfully) doing the common temples/zergs/metas regularly.

Cd is a strong boss run it’s right at server reset. I have been on CD since beta (love my server) I have never needed to guest to finish any meta events, and it’s got some of the most helpful people. They even helped me finish world map on WvW (the mesmers Port’ed me to vistas)!!!

I’ve actually had to guest elsewhere quite a bit in the last couple months for the Meta content. CD is OK during the really peak hours, but otherwise events have been disppointing. I’ve been guesting on TC a lot, often winding up in overflow. OF usually does better than CD, tbh.

That’s the purpose of this thread – we’d like to hear what people think of the “free” options we all have from the 18th to 27th.

My guild’s currently on Crystal Desert, but we’re not really thrilled with the level of PvE activity, and over the last year the community’s taken a turn for the worse. Ideally we’d like to find a popular server for PvE, with the WvW scene being more of an afterthought.

From what I’m seeing, Henge of Denravi, Crystal Desert, Northern Shiverpeaks, Devona’s Rest, Eredon Terrace, Ehmry Bay, Anvil Rock, Kaineng will all be free transfers for a week or so. Does anyone have opinions on any of these servers? We’re looking for servers that will at LEAST hold their own for big events (ie. Marionette), and at other times do all the regular stuff (world boss train, champ zergs, etc.).

Thoughts?

using an item in your inventory that creates a bundle or changes your skill bar (like musical instruments, spiky fruit, etc.), being downed, or sometimes swapping in a new weapon from your inventory will fix the issue.

Maybe swapping to town clothes and back quickly would be the easiest solution for those affected.

So this past weekend we had a new first in MLM-land. We did something similar back in GW1, but this was our first event of its kind in GW2.

The MLM Drinking Game.

It was a rousing success. It was mainly the core of the guild participating, with casuals and newer players not quite sure what to make of it, but oh what a fun night on Ventrilo! Good times, good times. Hopefully we can do that again some time in the next month or two!

If silly extra-curricular events like this interest you, or if you just need a new home, give me a shout.

Sini.6510

Because the overall Guild Wars 2 PvE should not be Infantile Mode. We don’t want Anet to have arrows that point out all locations of stuff that should be found by exploring. The fact that we’re using guides is basically shortcutting the experience of finding them for ourselves.

For better or worse, many of us use guides. The point of an unlabeled checklist is to not spoil the game for people who want a “pure” experience.

Look, when so many people are stuck missing one of so many, yet have done each part of the achievement (or are fairly sure they did), something ain’t right. Especially when it happens every time there’s this kind of achievement. It’s maddening to waste time running through 24 things you’ve already done, particularly for those of us without an abundance of time to play due to real life commitments.

23/24 obelisks

Posted by: Sini.6510

Sini.6510

Seriously, why can’t you just include a checklist for these things? If your concern is spoilers, at least have a checklist saying #1, #2, etc. and guides like Dulfy can just match locations with those numbers themselves. C’mon Anet, this is a no-brainer.

Our guild is largely comprised of people like you. Our average age is probably early 30’s, and many of us have families and work responsibilities. For many of our more casual players, even if they only log in once or twice a week, they have a home with good company. We’re a casual adult guild going back to 2007 in GW1, we’re most busy at night (NA), and we utilize Ventrilo for dungeons or just general chat. Alcohol is always welcome, of course.

At this point in time, we have 131 on the roster. However, many of those are inactive so that’s misleading. Any given night will have 10-20 people playing, and we’re constantly searching out more cool people to add to the mix.

We’re on Crystal Desert, but welcome players from anywhere. You can hit me up in game (Siniminister), here via PM, or on our website (www.MLM-Guild.com). Thanks for your time!

But, more about us.

We’re a band of dramaless merry misfits dating back to 2007 in GW1. When GW2 was first released, we were extremely casual with minimal organized activities. Then came fractals, and suddenly there’s increased interest for the higher-end PvE.

We have a handful of experienced, very knowledgeable players as a core, and many solid players to round out the group (roughly 50 “active”). We’re looking for more fun adults interested in grouping together, be it map completion or dungeons or even costume brawls. Hey, we’re all about having fun, but we’re also in the process of stepping up our game. Join us!
