Glint's Bastion - item location flipped

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

Was making a quick excel checklist so I could see where I stand for all Prof specialization weapons in one place.

Noticed that for almost all classes the 7th item in list was X Activity: Silver and item 8 was Gift of Hidden Descent.

However for Glint’s Bastion the order is flipped and the collection shows hidden descent in slot 7 and Sanctum Scramble: Silver is item 8.

Figured they were suppose to be consistent across all weapon specialization collections and thus reporting as a bug.

I believe that there are 2 ways to be fair here:

1. Lower the prices to the existing packages to 30, 50 and 75 euros respectively.

2. Leave the prices as they are but Standard Edition should give you at least character slot and a character customization kit, Deluxe Edition should give you also extra bang space and maybe a special head skin, and finally the Ultimate Edition all that and the Gems.

This way I could feel that the purchase is worthy.

If I may,

3. For existing players, they can receive an actual code of the base game so that they can give the code to a friend or use it however they wish (i.e create an account for a different region)

4. They could remove the core game being included for new players that pre-purchase. Have to buy it separate then can use upgrade code.

No one gets anything additional is another solution that would resolve the “new players are getting more” complaint.

If people are objecting about $50 for the expansion is to much based on what has been shown then they shouldn’t be pre purchasing yet. Pre purchase is for those that want to give developers money before the product is ready can. Can wait until their is enough announced they are interested in or until game launches to put money down.

Also on Reddit, upvotes are suppose to be to raise visibility on a topic for discussion/sharing of information, not just an “I agree” button. Not that GW2 reddit often uses it that way, still might be pre-mature to claim everyone upvoting is not planning to buy. A number seem to be waiting for more information before deciding to commit based on what I have seen.

The Bullfrogs use of large hammers and wide variety of potions has me wondering if they will be involved in the engineer’s specialization based on speculation of them getting hammers and own use of potions.
Might be their encouragement to get Engies more on the front line like them.

The Tree frogs could help take the Thief’s poison game to the next level too.

Jumping over the “is it broken?” argument. I do not believe HOT will have a large direct impact on Silk, Linen, Wool or Cotton. However I think the new Map Rewards system they have discussed will.

Currently an expensive part of the Spool > Bolt upgrade is the lower level mats that cannot be reliable generated by lvl 80 Chars. The main sources are alts being leveled, converting Karma/dungeon token items into level appropriate mats, and parked alts in the correct level range opening champ bags.

From what I remember reading on the new map rewards system completing events, jumping puzzles and other content in a zone will reward items/materials from that level range and relevant to zone. This has the opportunity to greatly increase the reliable flow of the lower level mats. From memory sounded like it would be displayed what rewards would be so people could work towards them.

Being mostly lvl 80s zones Maguuma will provide Silk as well, but would be surprised if it does on a scale greater then Silverwaste chest farm already does.

The precursor crash is dependent on what is required to complete the collection.

Cannot believe how many people underestimate this. The collection will likely require a decent time/gold commitment. Never mind the fact you will have to give up account progression in other Masteries by spending Mastery points. Though don’t know how available points will be to know how big a trade off that is yet.

Edit: Also knowing what the new Legendary weapons will look like can have an impact on current market. One of the main reason been going back on forth on if want to buy a one of the current precursors while they have gone down is wondering if the new ones will be a lot better and would rather spend there. Might not be able to cash out if new one in the class is a lot cooler.

I wonder who thought of the idea to add an identical mini to the birthday gifts, which you can only use once… So, for the third birthday, I’d like the option to Forge it…

Made more sense when minis were not account unlocks but items you had to keep in inventory to use. Was a way for each Char to show off they were year old without having to transfer around.
The system change removed the value of duplicates.

How to Stealth Kill Vorpp

in Living World

Posted by: Skarg.6834

Skarg.6834

There is two phase for stealth killing Vorpp.

To drop his shield you have to sabotage the generator to create a static field before he teleports to it. He moves in set direction around the room so you should know the way. Once his shield is down you can stealth hit him. Two stealth hits kills him.

First phase he summons guards to watch out for you sabotaging generators. You are briefly visible after sabotaging so you have to do when the guards are not looking at generators. Guards have the same pattern for their view cone. They look at the Prison Gate Switch, look at each other then look at Generators. You are safe to sabotage when they are looking at each other or the gate switch.

For the second phase Vorpp adds security golems on top of the generators. To lure them away you have to activate the prison gate switches the guards were spending time staring at longingly earlier. The guards pattern stays the same as before. You are safe to activate if guards are staring at each other or generator. Though be careful if they are looking at generator because next step is looking at Switch. Only the two goems standing on the generators near the particular switch will come over to investigate. They do eventually return, but it takes a while.

Once golems are lured away works same as phase one.

EDIT: Challenge mote they guards rotate a bit faster was only change I noticed. Didn’t straight up fight them so idea if tougher as well.

All weapons on all proffessions: when?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Skarg.6834

Never
it was never stated that we are going to see something preposterous such as this about Greatsword Thieves and Staff Engineers.

Hmm. I seem to remember reading a red tag stating all weapons on all professions however. I’d have to do some serious digging to find the exact post/article/interview though and I’m not sure it’d be worth the effort.

This is what I found

http://www.mmorpg.com/gamelist.cfm/game/473/feature/7597/Guild-Wars-2-ArenaNets-Master-Plan-for-2013.html (July 18 2013)
PROGRESSION AT LEVEL 80 EXPANDS
What’s more is that the team is also working very h’ard (forum filter) finding a way to make it so that every profession has access to every weapon and their own weapon skills for those previously locked weapons. Engineer plus Hammer? Check. Again, there’s no specific timeline for this, but a new progression system is coming. Finally those level 80s you’ve been hoarding will get some use, as they’ll be adding more and more skills and traits to the game for years to come and on a regular basis for players to obtain.

After reading over looks like the author paraphrasing his understanding of things Colun and himself discussed on a phone call for what they were looking at for 2013. Without a transcript for what exactly Colin said would not take it as a solid this was definitely coming.

Though the recent LS missions might be hinting to some new weapons. Beyond the obvious Joey GS did not recognize the attacks adapt master used in new story instance.

Lets talk about the new Gem conversion [Merged]

Hey there,

Here are a few tidbits from the team:

  • A lot of newer players had trouble with the interface. That doesn’t apply to you, you’re veterans who have been around the conversion block a time or two. But newer players will benefit from the updated system.
  • The goal was to make the Gem Store more like other shopping experiences, and if you think about it, there is more of that feel to it now.
  • You may be surprised to know this (I know I was) but very few people bought gems at smaller denominations than the first one offered in the new system. That’s not to say they never did, nor that there wouldn’t be the desire to do so. But overall, the current options were selected based on player purchases in the past.
  • The team is going to listen to your feedback and, if and when it’s practical and desirable, they can look towards adjusting the new system to better meet your needs.

So please keep your thoughts coming on the new system. Feel free to make suggestions but please, keeping them constructive would be very much appreciated.

Hello Gaile,

I know I was very interested in getting the 700 Courtier outfit that just came out, but no way was I going to buy 800 gems and have 100 left over.
This change has made me go from debating whether to drop more actual cash instead of gold conversion to never wanting to support game. As the change seemed to be in real bad faith.

As most items are priced on the 100 gem mark there really should be an option for 100 gem purchase for those that want to get the exact amount needed to buy what they want. If there are ones ending x50 or x75 gems should be options that allow a clean purchase.

Otherwise claims the left over being there is to encourage more purchase and the “real” cost of the outfit is 800 gems else you will be suckered into buying more start to sound creditable.

Based on Edit 3:
Have to throw four things in MF to get something back. So likely an item that will fill 1/4th of a MF recipe.
The not a haggler could suggest it is something that could be bought off TP, but Lemark was someone that did not want to deal with haggling on TP.
Can be bought from an NPC merchant.

Tempted to say the new item is something that could be included in a MF attempt to make it a slam dunk that a precursor would pop out of MF. Mainly because of the reference to “no more fakes, no more copies, forgeries or lies” which would be other exotic weapons, some sharing the skins, popping out instead of desired one.

Edit: Could also be something that fulfills the spot of Precursor like a super charged Mystic Stone

I only wanted to exchange for 700 gems for the new Court Outfit, but will not do so if it will leave me with 100 gems I do not want or need.

Hopefully someone will point out something I missed to get the 700 with the new interface. Otherwise it is a case where they made quality of life worst with an update again…….

A mount is already in the game. Riding Broom in gem store can be double clicked to fly around on said broom. Data miners have also found a vein of magic carpets in their digging which may be available for purchase in the near future. It moves at regular move speed FYI.

What you actually want, a item that increases move speed that is not based on class abilities, also exist in Candy Corn which can be popped for sugar rush buff which gives move speed for a while if I remember correctly. also kites for Dry Top exist that give a move bonus during sand storm.

I would recommend visiting your classes sub forum and asking about good movement set ups. Some classes can be pretty quick with right build and open world doesn’t need as min-maxed for combat effectiveness for most content.

Theory: Why they nerfed dungeon chests

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

Skarg.6834

They removed tokens from Bosses because people would kill an early easy boss and reset instance to farm tokens quickly.

They have now added a way to limit drops from a single boss/section to once a day.

I think theory they are considering re-implementing spreading tokens out throughout instance as a much more promising theory.

Though could just be an attempt to tone down ambient gold gain by people kitten-run same path over and over. Though think that would only really impact path sellers, though believe some did run CoE for chance of Lodestones.

No room to get behind the mob, Taimi wouldn’t move to get him away from wall. Nothing circle could do. Picture below of watching on in sadness.

For future would suggest making sure if making Mob position really important to fight, make sure the mob cannot get stuck on NPC or something else that prevents players from positioning the mob with aggro properly.

CDI- Character Progression-Horizontal

in CDI

Skarg.6834

I haven’t read through thread, but going to point out some Horizontal rewards currently available and how they can be added as rewards to other play styles (in particular dungeons as they is where I spend most of my time) or made more valuable in my opinion.

Finishers
Currently only obtainable through gem store or PvP Rank, making purchasable through currencies could give players someone to spend said currency on. Should be flavoured for related currency. Get Balefire dropping a fire rock onto foe, King Abelbern stabbing sword into foe with a flash of Foefire coming out, and Avatar of a God using a related effect on are a few examples. First two bought through related dungeon currency, last through Karma at the related temple for the god.

Weapon/Armour Skins
Adding ways to allow player to earn armour skins for their account. Either through completing achievements related to content, or purchasing them with currencies. Could be a “________ Design Pattern” that would unlock/reward a hidden achievement that adds related skin to the current achievement reward screen. For example could buy “Citadel of Flames Heavy Chest Design Pattern” to be able to create a CoF heavy chest skin. Could also give Karma/Badge vendors with unique skins a related design.
Since art, currency and achievement skin systems already exist should be lower barrier to get into game.
Adding backpiece skins would also help increase variety out there.

Mini-Pets
Again themed ones available for a greater variety of activities/currencies.
Personally if it could be made easier/cheaper for people to carry a mini-pet without having to avoid using deposit all I would actually carry one to show off. By the time I found out invisible bags existed I had long given up on mini-pets and the cost for a 20-slot invisible just is not worth it for something I already wrote off.

Toys/Town Clothes
Themed, accessible from a greater variety of activities/currency.
Something that allowed Town Clothes to let players move at swiftness speed inside of Cities would greatly help value/desire to collect. Keep it just inside cities to avoid having to block wearing them in other areas like the Axe did in WvW.
Toys would make Costume Brawl more accessible, though would bring in some vertical progression.

TL:DR = Make themed vanity items available inside current reward structures systems.

Being able to do both my War and Necro lvl 10 daily meant I could stack up relics to get other chars 20 slot bags and only 5 days to get rings if I was willing to run twice a day. Maybe I will work it more consistently into my rotation instead of just when a char is heading towards 80 I guess…..

Mentioned my thoughts in the Aetherblades thread already, but fits here a little better.

The AC revamp was not well received by general community, saw a decrease in players and made the average PUG group require lvl 80. Despite meeting the goals of more mechanics and group organization requirement.

Living story is throwing a bunch of content quickly to see what players actually want. Once they have a better baseline would expect to see more movement and discussion on permanent content again.

Thanks for the quick response. Makes little sense why they would disband a key team to the game. Still its saddening.

The AC revamp meet their stated goals of adding mechanics and making it so you have to be organized. It was largely panned and saw a decrease in people doing the dungeon.

They are using the Living Story to quickly throw a bunch of different content at players and see what is enjoyed and generally deemed good. Once they have a baseline of what players actually would enjoy playing I would expect to see permanent content updates/additions.

TL;DR – Living story is to test what we want. Once they know they will develop more permanent content.

Suggestion on how Adrenaline work.

in Warrior

Posted by: Skarg.6834

Skarg.6834

Too many traits that reward full adrenaline. It will really begin to be a detriment to actually using your Burst skills if too many traits give such benefit.

This is the biggest problem with Adrenaline at the moment. With the traits current available best use is to not use Burst.

I would favour a less disruptive change to the traits though. Namely making it so that when you use your burst the War gains a buff like the Guardian’s Virtue that is similar to the buffs they current get from holding Adrenaline. For the healing minor trait make it so when you reach the level of Adrenaline you gain the buff that would do healing over a few seconds. Reward hitting tiers over and over again after Bursting.

For example:
After using burst skill gain:
Level 1: 3% critical chance
Level 2: 6% critical chance
Level 3: 9% critical chance
for 10 seconds.

The exact %s might be off the actual trait as going from memory. The time should allow constant upkeep if War is using proper weapon, or gear for building Adrenaline.

More on topic, adding trait that stripped a condition per level as well could another way of rewarding actually Bursting.
