I nominate calling any 30/30/10 build “Xomfire”. And anyone that says otherwise should be punched in the flesh wurm.
Seconded.

Here’s my Sylvari Necro, Laftkranz. Though, you can’t really tell what he is unless you see his face.

8/10. Pretty good pun, got a chuckle out of me.
Mine are Rhisling (Mesmer) and Laftkranz (Necro).

Throwing in another nomination for Tarnished Coast.
As the upper tier rankings have stabilized in the past couple of months, TC has shown that they have the skill and manpower to stay at the top. Not only that, but they do it with a very upbeat and gracious demeanor.
Yak’s Bend
Eat them alive, TC. Keep up the lead!

Sorry, my mistake. I guess it was one of those patch updates that bugged and never actually worked.

I’ve been running a Static Discharge P/S build in WvW to much success, so I’ll help you out. I use a 0/30/20/0/20 build for reference.
On the subject of Rifle vs P/S, it really comes down to Power and Control vs Conditions and Durability. Rifle has the ability to keep the enemy where you want while giving you high burst damage with point blank Jump Shot, Blunderbuss, and Overcharged Shot. It compliments Static Discharge almost perfectly by turning you into a PBAoE burst machine. That said, I prefer P/S because as you said, I really like the poison/confusion and the reflect/block combo that P/S offers. You can whittle your opponent down easily, and let your conditions do the work as the enemy kills themselves on confusion and reflect. Tool Kit goes great with P/S because it gives you another source of confusion and a 3 second block.
I want to know if you’re using this build for PvE or PvP/WvW, though? I don’t know how good cripple is in PvE, but the Power Wrench trait is invaluable if you’re using Tool Kit, IMO. It turns Throw Wrench into a moving cripple and was changed about a month ago to work with Gear Shield and Magnet. Cripple on Gear Shield means you can get away much easier by blocking while running and cripple on Magnet allows you to stick on your enemy. Not to mention 20% cooldown reduction on all Tool Kit skills.
I use a full set of Runes of Centaur on my Engineer. The +Bleeding duration is useful for Pistol and with Med Kit, you can upkeep Swiftness infinitely on your Engi. With Invigorating Speed in your build, you can keep Vigor up infinitely as well. Though again, this is more of a “PvE or WvW” situation since I don’t know how useful Swiftness is to you if this is for PvE.
Hope this info helps you. Trying to cut my post down so it doesn’t turn into a bigger wall of text, so if you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Feedback, Null Field, Portal, and Time Warp. Trait for longer duration and -20% CD on Glamour skills and you should be golden.

I like this match up with you Yakkies, but you’re literally insane if you think you got less or equal numbers with Mag or even EBay.
Definitely not insane. A large number of Yak’s Bend population is PvE oriented. Just because our server is full, it doesn’t mean all of them participate in WvW.

I’ve been waiting for this rematch. It’s been like 3 months, yeah? Is GOON still around on Maguuma?

Energy Surge used to be nice aoe damage
I loved Energy Surge and energy denial builds in general. I was so disappointed when I heard they took energy out of GW2 because I knew e-denial was dead.

If you don’t want to burst, S/D and Condition builds are pretty much your only options. Sword autoattack hits like a truck, DPS-wise, and actually does more damage in the same amount of time it takes for Pistol Whip to finish its animation. /D gives you reliable stealth so you can daze frequently. If you want to stick to a Power build, Sword main hand is your best option.
Dagger is best known for its burst with Backstab and Heartseeker, but since you don’t want to burst, you would have to rely on Condition D/D and Death Blossom. D/P has a large reliance on Backstabs and Heartseeker so it’s out of the question.
Same situation with Pistol: P/P is very limited in general and Unload is a burst skill. The other option is P/D which works best when you’re built for Condition damage and stacking a ton of bleeds with Sneak Attack.
So, it’s either Sword main hand or Condition damage if you want to play non-burst. The other option is to play another profession. You’re shutting yourself off to a ton of options by not wanting to burst as well as not being partial to Condition damage builds.

From what I can gather from the GW2 wiki, WvW takes place in the Mists, i.e. a higher plane of existence that exists between worlds. Each server is considered a world, or universe, so when the alternate universes collide with each other they mesh together in the Mists and WvW happens. No idea why we have to fight each other, lore-wise.

Pretty much sounds like Guild Wars Factions but with a 3rd faction.

Enemy Elementalists, especially D/D Eles. They like to Ride the Lightning into a group, AoE the hell out of them, and then try to Mist Form away. But with Magnet and Net Shot on my Engineer, I make sure they never run once their Mist Form is on cooldown.

A good Thief will beat any non-bunker build, and beat it hard. Bunker or die.
This. I switched from using Rifle to a Pistol/Shield bunker build in WvW and I’ve been handling Thieves a lot better lately.

This would be a great workaround for weapon kits causing you to lose your weapon stats and sigil.
Couple of problems that I see with it, though. For one, this hinders anyone that runs more than one weapon kit on their utility bar. I use the Grenadier and Static Discharge traits for WvW, so this would definitely hurt my build if I had to choose between using either Grenades or Tool kit. Another thing, some of the toolbelt skills are core skills that define a lot of the weapon kits. Throw Wrench is probably the best skill that the Tool kit offers(Though this might be saying something about the strength of the kit itself), and Grenade Barrage and Big Ol’ Bomb are both extremely useful skills by themselves.

I heard OBEY from Sorrows Furnace just moved to Fort Aspenwood, that’s a good 700+ people if they all move. o:
700+, huh? I did see some OBEY people running with GODS flipping supply camps in YB Borderlands before I logged off a couple minutes ago.

Male Sylvari. The face option that looks like your face is carved out of bark makes for an intimidating Thief.

When was the last time you looked at the bug compilation topic?

If you guys have sooooooo much gold, then i can think of better uses of it, like making Legendary weapons.
But Golems are stronger than Legendary weapons.

Engineer was my first character and I went off to play Thief and Mesmer for about a month because I felt like Engineer was weak, too complicated, and none of the skills had any synergy. I feel the Engineer really clicked with me after I gained more knowledge of the game mechanics in general.
When I came back to my level 33 Engineer after a month hiatus, I noticed my gear was an absolute mess so I focused my gear on just Power and Precision stats and this made a world of difference. Not only did I start wrecking PvE with Rifle, Flamethrower, Bombs, and Grenades but I realized my initial reaction to Engineers having messy skill synergy was completely off the mark. I now see that this class is truly the jack of all trades profession of GW2 and can fill nearly any role. I don’t want to play any other profession besides Engineer nowadays.

Definitely need more love for Engineers. Grenades are absurd during sieges and are the best long range AoE attacks you can get from any profession.

I thought there’s a kick in place? Could have sworn I’ve been booted off WvW due to inactivity before.
