Not sure if anyone brought this up yet, but I’ve noticed a certain Blazing Light doing some training in LA. Could this mean that once the Queen’s Pavilion Returns, we’ll be seeing new contestants with Suriel being on top or perhaps a all the contestants will be making a comeback, stronger than ever?

I’m actually getting pretty hyped about this now.
What do you guys expect to see in the Gauntlet?

Feathered wings as a back piece… Yes, I’m all for this as a vanity item.
The only hitch I see is the inability to color back pieces (because I am pretty darn sure that if we get black feathered wings, people will want white or other various colors as well…)
A possible solution to this is using what they did for the Spinal Blades back piece, and give us the ability to change the color via the Mystic Forge.
Either way a non-flapping set of wings would be nice (or if their must be movement, keep it minimal… Like the above mentioned Spinal Blades.)

I don’t doubt it would be impossible for Anet to do the wings like they did the spinal back pieces. The question leaves: Will they do it?

I’ve always been a sucker for having wings as a back/cape item in games, except for this game due to the wing’s constant flapping. From a vanity standpoint, if said wings from the original Raiment set were to be released, it’d go so well with my set. But if Anet decides not to do this, can’t be helped I suppose.

So I log on today and notice that the Raiment of the Lich has made a return from the previous game. Though I have noticed that the wings aren’t there; so it got me thinking:
“Would be sort of nice if the wings were sold as a stand alone back piece, without the constant flapping”.

Anyone else think this should be a thing this year or next?

I was going to say that it was made for the China release, but now it’s likely that you’ll probably get it when Anet releases GW2 VIP for NA/EU.

I would buy the VIP only to get this mini xD

Hmm, with the new LS coming in November and how they added Nomads when they added Dry Top, I wouldn’t be too surprised if this was added as a stat combination for the new area.

Also, just how they an ascended version of Nomads, I’m sure there will be an ascended version of Forsaken.

I don’t even know why I’m suggesting heavy armor classes. I’m not a meat-head by nature.

Really I want my monking back, but that’s not going to happen. xD

Shhhh…You can always play a guardian, it’s basically having a monk, amalgamated with the paragon and ritualist. Like playing 3 classes at once ^^

I have one. ;D
It’s level 80 Sword/Shield And I like it a lot.
And I was used to being gawked at for my ‘Monking’… O_o
Prot/Earth Elementalist built around damage reduction and Zealous Benediction.
And a Heal/Prot/ Soul Reaping ‘Healymancer’ as I called it Rolling Protective Spirit Shield of Absorbtion and Glimmer of Light.
Made better monks than some of the monks I ran into in FA, JQ, and RA. xD

Heheheh. For at long as I’m been playing GW1…I have yet to do and complete any of the bonus mission and Elite content…I feel ashamed Q.Q

This! Maybe new weapons too like Two-Handed Axe and Spear. : 3

War Axe and Glaive! Make it happen, Anet! >:(

I plan to continue doing what I was doing since I began playing with the addition of doing the new collection achievements and finally starting the quest to craft ascended armor for my Ele. The patch itself hasn’t made an affect on me (my main anyways). I will, however, try the leveling system at one point with one of my lowbie alts and and form my own personal opinion on the whole thing.

I will say though, that there were some changes I still question on Anet’s part.

Berserker.

Heavy armor class, dual wielding Hammers, swords, greatswords, and maces.
Profession mechanic could be 5 seconds of increased attack speed and power, but with 15 – 20 seconds of 25 stacks incurable vulnerability.

Berserker Berserker meta inbound, Berserker class with Berserker armor only, dual hammers!

What about folks knowing the plot of Living World for example and leaking it?

I don’t know that a PTR would really make market stuff more fair. I think you would actually want to disable things like Living World and market-affecting-info on a PTR. The main benefit of it, imo, would be to let us play with (and sometimes break) the stuff that has long-ranging effects. Like being able to help iron out bugs in the NPE might have been nice. Or being able to go on a PTR and play around with balance changes before they go live, so we can help catch anything that looks like it could work a bit better. That sort of thing.

You’ve essentially described a PTR right there, to a degree. Essentially a copy of the game that serves a purpose for players to typically test features that would change the core mechanics or bring about some other big change (Say for instance, new weapon type, race, or class) and we report out it, giving constructive feedback. I personally like the idea of having a PTR being held when big features or changes are coming to the game, so that we can get a feel of it before it hits the main servers.

I’m not sure if someone has already proposed this QoL or something similar. I would appreciate it if such a case is.

Proposal Overview
A build template system, allowing for players to switch up their builds on the fly without having to manually do so every time.

Goal of Proposal
With this QoL suggestion, this will drastically cut time on players changing their build to several occasions; such as dungeons, World Bosses, WvW, etc.

Proposal Functionality
How the idea works is that under the equipment tab of the Hero Panel, there are multiple slots (around 2 or 3) to have both separate armor, jewels, and traits. To keep this simple: We have our current set-up. Upon clocking this empty slot or tab, we can now insert another set (or same) of armor and traits, if we so choose.

With the slot being completed to the desire of the player, once they are out of combat, they can open up the equipment tab and select said template they wish to choose, along with the associated traits they put in with the template.

And at any time, as long as they are out of combat, they can chose to clear any of the templates or edit them, if they so desire; from the armor, jewels, and traits.

To add a situation, if it were to ever occur: If a player decides he wants to use his/her legendary, but with a different stat combination for each set, when they change between builds, their legendary’s stats will change accordingly.

Edit: A detail I did forget to add in. Upon setting another set of armor into the one of the template slots, said armor and jewels will no longer appear in your inventory slot, thus also eliminating the clutter of having the items take up inventory space.

Associated Risks
As far as I can see, I don’t see any real risk to having this feature around. I feel it would be an overall improvement to the game.
Edit: Well, I do see only one and that is if a player wants to change their weapon…still thinking about that. Any additional input would be appreciated.

I can’t believe you’re complaining about LB ranger. It’s a one trick pony, and most of the LB rangers currently playing are band wagoner’s and free kill points.

That is just how it looks to me from a distance. I could be incredibly wrong.

There’s enough hard counters to allow a lot of classes to work over a bad ranger. There’s soft counters as well which pretty much can let any class work over a bad ranger who is using Rapid Fire as a crutch.

The meta doesn’t need to be perfectly balanced, it just needs to revolve around enough potential counters so one class isn’t going to rule everything.

Rangers . . . aren’t ever going to be that class.

As far as this goes, there really is no “that” class, to me at least. The way I see it, each class has their advantages and disadvantages, counters and hard counters.

It’s not even a burst which would in itself shave 1/3 of my HP, I don’t think it would be a problem for heavier classes. I mean, seriously looking at it . . . I don’t expect it’s a bad amount unless coupled with some other incoming source of damage.

Again. Retaliation, Reflect, Confusion. Watch a Rapid-fire ranger kill themselves.

Having no stake in it myself, I gotta admit that the whole “all glass / gets killed by reflect/etc.” does sound familiar to me and not in a good way. Usually when people say “this class/build/etc. is fine because XYZ hardcounter,” what they’re ultimately saying is, “there’s a problem with this build but it’s not actually a problem because stuff can counter it.”

Something seemingly overpowered comes, people find hard counters or any kind of counter in general if they feel no nerf is coming anytime soon. Then comes in the group that doesn’t have those tools and thus try their best to see how they can counter it, if possible.

Sometimes an effect is made which causes a buff for the group with no counter to have one or the group that was given a buff is stripped away from them. It is usually the former. When that happens, the cycle begins again, sometimes.

And here it comes, the complaints.

Reflection skills will kill these new glass-tank rangers. Very quickly.

Even then I agree it needs a slight nerf, but not a huge one. If they do end up nerfing longbow any time soon, then I hope they undo the stealth nerf to frost spirit to compensate.

Oh, don’t worry. We’ve discussed their hardcounters already. T’is all good!

It’s not that bad. The new Ranger meta-build is basically all glass. Reflects, Retaliation, or stunlock builds will wreck them so hard. Last night there was a Thief on my team running Basilisk Venom and some immobs. He basically downed the Rangers in like one or two combos each time while they couldn’t flee.

Yeah, after reading the other messages and thinking about it myself, figured that their hard counters would be anything that can interrupt or give them a taste of their own medicine. And perhaps a very tanky build that can deal with bursts like theirs.

Cool, gotcha. I don’t follow PvP in this game, but I have followed it in other games and I can imagine already how nuts that could be.

Hopefully they will do something to tweak it down. It sounds like the issue is a combination of range and general damage power with a ranged weapon for rangers?

I see Storm is talking about Rapid Fire specifically, is that an issue of “too much burst damage in a small space of time”?

Edit: Video or combat log might help to show what you’re talking about.

From my current experience, Rapid Fire is the central driving point with several traits that give power to the longbow ranger overall and extra power to their rapid shot. With that, it might just be far too much burst or the cooldown for rapid fire is far too short and thus a constant, hellfire of damage.
I haven’t played my ranger much (I’m an Ele person), so I wouldn’t know much about their skill CDs and what not, all I can do is make a hypothesis.

Rangers are so over powered that PVP is no longer enjoyable. The range that they have, combined with the insane speed and damage. And when you get more than one of them, it becomes unplayable.

Rangers overpowered . . . hehehe . . . oh my goodness, that’s almost as good a joke as one of Mad King Thorn’s. No, really, you should do this professionally.

Rangers are not OP in WvW. Unless that stands for “over-present” and “overplayed for the Rapid Fire with Zerker”.

Well the only way to test if his words are true is to go into sPvP and experience what he means for ourselves rather than jumping the gun.

From what I’ve been hearing about the new player experience. For players that are fresh on the boat, features such as sPvP and WvW would be level-gated until they’ve reached the appropriate level to do them. Afterwards, it is supposed to be unlocked across your whole account. I’m not entirely sure, but that is what I’m guessing is the case from what I’ve been reading.

Might help if you describe what the issue is with Rangers and why everyone is apparently playing them faceroll now?

If I were to take a guess, I’d say it would be the update to the rapid fire skill for their longbow. Just a hunch.

So I’m not the only victim of this? I do hope Anet does something about this and fixes the problem. Sent a ticket for account compromisation (and it confirmed they got it, via e-mail), now I wait for them to reply and rollback my account, hopefully the day before Easter Sunday (Before mines was hacked). Guess I was lucky to have set up a mobile authentication before said hacker decided to do so…

To all angry SBi, please keep in mind that YB has been ahead in this week’s match-up since it started. The only reason we have this alliance (which started yesterday) is to get Ebay in second place and move us up a tier. All in all, it’s mutually beneficial to both us and Ebay.

Elementalist (0/10(II)/30(IV, X, XI)/0/30(V, VII, XI))
Endurance-Bleed Build.
Weapon: S/F
Utility:Ether Renewal, Signet of Earth, Mist Form, Armor of Earth.
Elite: Glyph of Elementals (use it as a way to distract liadri if you need to get space between you and her or just heal while she is aggroed on the elemental).

I am highly satisfied with this achievement (after trying to killer her for the past 16 days, +constant traiting and retraiting and eventually trying a new build overall). Though I’d never be able to do it, but my tenacity and determination proved otherwise. Now I can put this on the scoreboard on my Legendary Achievements.

Got a UFO sound from he game, made a quick relog to fix it, came back, Karka was already killed…two and a half hours of participating just to find myself in another overflow…and from what I read, those who got to UFO sound crashed when the cutscene happened, so in the end, I would have gotten dc’d anyways…I liked the event, but majorly pissed that I have nothing to show for it…
